Goood Morning (afternoon, evening, whenever you read this!) How are all of you O-zies, as Phyllis calls us, today? ;)

Doing OK over here. I am still trying to get my life onto some sort of forward movement, but papers and emails and bills keep appearing and blocking my way. I feel like as soon as I get one batch of crud dealt with, 25 more have popped up in the meantime. I know-- its the way of life, eh?

My big plans for today are to get back to work on scanning my mom's photos from when she was little in the 1940's. I started these in January and planned to burn them all onto a CD for her as a b-day gift. Looks like I am a bit behind schedule.

So that's where I am at today.... Have to go food shopping first which means I'll be wandering around the store trying to figure out what I am going to make for dinners since no one in my family gives me ideas! (if you all had a dollar for every time I complained about that.... :D)

A personal chef!! THat is all I want/wish!!!

Have a FAB day!!!

Quickie personals:

Laurie- hope your tummy and butt cheek are all better today! Excellent news on the weight-- you are really amazing!!!

Trudy- your morning sounds like mine- too dark, too tired and lots of coffee haha!!
Yup, that is it.... so many piles of stuff waiting to be dealt with,. Does it make you cranky too when the house is disorganized? It makes me batty! I have learned that sometimes just a quick run through of straightening piles and vacuuming helps that mental part at least until I can find the time to deal with the rest of it.

Nana- how is mom feeling today? Hugs to all of you. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make life be the way it was supposed to be again. But I am really proud of you for looking for the positive.
At one point a few years ago, I had a doctor ask me if I ever gave myself the time to grieve for the "loss" of what I expected my life to be like. After looking at her like she had a million heads, I started to see what she meant. And no, I don't think I ever gave myself permission to grieve, but maybe I should (at some point). It might be something for you to do as well......

As for jesse-- I didn't see it so much in my own kids- they might have pulled crap on me and I was too dumb to see it-- but I see the same kinds of stuff in the boy I babysit. The other day he blamed his teacher for not writing his spelling hw on the board- but the creative way he spun the story was pretty impressive. ;)
I think it is normal-- and you are much wiser this time around and know what to look for. Smart kid, too!

Phyllis- good luck with those whiners- I think they might need a refreshing bit of perspective a la Phyllis! LOL

It is *always* easier to clean someone else's house cuz I don't have to figure out where to put things!

Hi nancy!

Eva ((((hugs)))))))))) good luck to your sister today!
Great news about your dad feeling better and I hope he continues to recover quickly!

hiya. here i am in the dark, cold, fall-into-winter morning. i really do NOT like this time of year. it seems i can never enjoy FALL because i'm too busy being pissed about WINTER coming. i need to try to have some sort of attitude of gratitude for what the next few days are going to be like. in the 70s!! beautiful, colorful trees!! blue(ish) skies!! i'm working on my attitude....

gotta drive to my Aunt's house to deliver the BD invitations i made for her. that should take up most of my day. an hour there and hour or two visiting, and hour back home. i'm going to take my MINT floor cleaner and amuse her with a demo in her giant kitchen. my kitchen's floor space is about 10x10. how big is your kitchen?? i wish i had a great big kitchen.

Chris, here's an easy one for dinner. not super healthy, but it tastes good and is good for a fall dinner. I usually half the recipe and just make one of these. i also cook it in a deeper, round casserole. the pan size in the recipe seems odd to me. i don't have one that size.

Chicken and Cheese Noodle Bake
(makes 2 casseroles. one to use right away, one to freeze.)
1 pkg. (16 oz) spaghetti, broken
2 medium onions, chopped
1 medium green pepper, diced (I omit this and use 2 of the sweet red peppers.)
1 medium sweet red pepper, diced
1/2c butter (margarine) cubed
6 TBSP. flour
2 cups (2%) milk
4 cups cooked cubed chicken ( i just saute chicken breasts on the stove to cook them.)
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp. celery salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 cups (8 oz) shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese

Cook spaghetti according to package directions. At the same time, saute the onions, green and red pepper in butter. Stir in flour until blended. Gradually add milk bring to a boil and cook until thickened, ca. 2 minutes. Stir in the cooked chicken, soups, sour cream, celery salt and pepper.

Drain spaghetti and add to sauce mixture. toss to coat. Transfer to TWO 11x7" baking dishes. sprinkle with cheeses. cool, cover and freeze one for up to 3 months. Cover and bake remaining casserole at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 5-10 more minutes or until bubbly.

To use frozen casserole: Thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Cover and bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake 5-10 minutes longer or until bubbly.

well, off to start the day. have a good one, O-zies.

Crazy hair day at school today (something every day this week in efforts to teach "say no to drugs")...I fixed Jaid-a-bug's hair kind of crazy..she would NOT let me do it all up like I wanted to :bounce:...and Jesse was a dud...he would let me do anything!! COME ON KIDS....................LET NANA HAVE SOME FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well...this week has been close to 80 or in the low 80's..and will last through the weekend..then next week........highs in the 40's :fear: It's really hard to adjust like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are the normals?? 60's??

So, I will know more about how Mom really is when she goes to the DR....The problem right now is she needs to cough that junk she produces in her chest out...with her situation, she has always had to do this...she coughs and spits up this mess all day every day...most people think she is a horrid chain smoker....but she never has.....but right now, her chest is too dry and tight, and she can't cough it out..and that means she is having a hard time breathing, which in turn makes her weak and feel bad. She is having a fit because she needs help doing some things. But I told her that she should not worry over it. Sit back and enjoy being taken care of a bit...she has spent her whole life taking care of others (sound like anyone you know?) and she needs to think about herself.

Well Traci is at a pretty low point, and she actually called me yesterday and asked me to go with her to the Dr tomorrow...her psychiatrist....I am begging her to go to therapy...INTENSE THERAPY....so I will get my chance to tell her Dr this now. CROSS YOUR FINGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay...I will get to personals one of these days...I am sorry I don't do them lately..but know that I do read about your girls every day and I love you all dearly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

morning ladies!

Been working. What else is new? I think I need a vacation--really. But--no plans for a vacation for several months.

Phyllis--I think your Aunt is going to enjoy the demo. I would love to see that little robot in action. Enjoy your day. Sorry about your attitidue---winter coming. I don't do cold weather well. That's why I live in Texas. Supposed to 92 today.

I'm going to be in a golf tournament this evening. You had to qualify for this tournament and I'm the only female in the tournament. No--I'm not that great a golfer. Just had a few good days when it counted and here I am. This tournament takes your handicap into consideration so it puts you on a level playing field with the "good golfers." Anyway--there are 10 players and two get eliminated each hole. I praying I win the whole thing! That would be grand but doubtful. I get nervous playing with all those heavy hitters.

Need to make time to scrap. I was working on a page the other day for a CT assignment--needed Christmas stuff. When I searched in ACDSee I found there was a whole bunch of stuff not tagged. I have spent the last day tagging----again.

Hope you all have a good day.

I walked in the rain yesterday LOL - as a girl from the desert I really do not like getting wet! But my girlfriend and I walk every day possible except for drenching rain and below zero temps so it was not raining at the start of the walk but of course at the farthest point from home it started to rain. I had my rain coat and she had her umbrella so we just walked and I did not melt. Luckily it was a warm rain. I am reading a fun book so did not scrap. My son has a reading disability so he has found books he will read and so I read them too so we can talk about them. These are a series of books taken from a game he played as a kid Warhammer. Warhammer has good and evil and models you make and paint. Anyway the books are really well written and I get sucked in. Today is rainy and dark and I am going to finish the book.

Phylis - I have to agree this season is gorgeous but I really really dislike the short days. Your recipe looks delish! thanks for sharing

Chris and LindaW - your lives is so hectic - I forget how I ever made it through the days of working and growing kids lifestyles

Have a great day!

Morning ladies... Dark here again this morning, guess it will be that way until spring, so hard to get used to being in the dark until around 8am. Think I might need to get to the dr. soon. I am always so very tired!! Can't seem to get enough sleep and dragging my butt everywhere! I even start to fall asleep in front of the computer some days. Perhaps I need more exercise? Sleep patterns are not great and I wake up so much during the night that I feel like I only get a few hrs. of really good sleep. Sound familiar?? Yet my hubby snores all night long!! WTH?? Not fair!!!

Chris - Yes, it bothers me when I can't get the things done that need doing in my own house, you are always so busy working and taking care of the family that it must be really frustrating that your own house get neglected!! Maybe Phylis will lend you her MINT ?? Hope you get caught up one day sweetie! But there is always something else that pops up right?

Phylis - Have a safe drive to your Aunt's house today, she should get a kick out of your gadget!! Your recipe looks yummy, I might have to try this one myself! Thanks for sharing!!

Nana - Your morning sounded interesting!! Too bad the kids didn't let Nana have as much fun as she wanted!! Hope your appt with Traci and the dr goes well and that they both agree to some intense therapy!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you my friend!! Hoping that your Mother is doing better today too! So much on your plate, I don't know how you cope??

Terry - Work sucks!! I really can't wait until I don't have to do it anymore!! Darn bills need to be paid though don't they? Good luck with your golf tournament! Hope you win it all!!!

Well I have lots of scrapping to catch up on and hopefully actually get some of it done today! Need to order a few things online and get something sent to the grand kids for Halloween. Facetimed with them last nite, they were all dressed up for Halloween, great costumes that the other grandparents found for them, feeling bad that this grandma wasn't that organized!! Oh well, will try to find something today. Have a great day everyone ! Take care of one another!!

Nancy, i love the sound of walking in a warm rain!

Terry, hope you win the golf thing!
