I am going to have to keep looking at the calendar to verify that yes, it is indeed October. It is 70* right now and it is going to be in the mid-80s. Wow!! I am wearing shorts and am not even a tiny bit cold.

I really had a long and busy day yesterday. I called Lowes's to see if I could get a refund and they said sure. I decided to go there first and then food shopping on my way home. Made sense to save time instead of going back and forth. I would have been back home in no time if I hadn't gotten stuck in construction traffic. They are finally paving one of the main roads out of town and it was so backed up there and back. But I still made it outside with the table early afternoon. I was able to get 2 of the 3 tabletop sections stripped. Today I will get the third stripped and then sand them all down. My hands are going to hurt after all of that. They already do. Gary has a palm sander I am going to try out, but the last time I used it vibrations made my hands numb. And can I just say how thick that last stain/poly combo was and how hard it is to scrape? It is disgusting. I will never ever ever use Varathane again.

So that is it. Nothing exciting. I have some house things and Oscraps things I have to catch up on this morning too. And then I can't wait to be outside, even if it is only sanding a table.

hope you all have a terrific day!

Trudy- good for you to start swimming again! hahaha!! That is so funny about wanting to get the steps touched up even though your Gary wants to wait-- that is *totally* something I would do. And of course, you want it to look nice, esp now that you have the mums out here looking festive.
I have to say, I was surprised that the customer service people didn't seem to even care about the refund. I guess if it were for something more expensive than a can of wood conditioner, they might. ;)

Kay- I have a LO to post today and then another page to finish and post. I hope to get some scrapping done for DSD too. I think a lot of that will be done tomorrow when it is rainy. Your Copycat LO was beautiful!
Good luck with rearranging your closet again and that your throat feels better.
My mom is getting hooked on tea and honey with her throat still being so scratchy and hoarse. I gave her a box of Vanilla Honey Chamomile - one of my favorites- and she has been drinking that almost every day. Can you get honey while you are out today?

Felis- That is great that you were able to get some shopping done and are inspired for some new pages! I know what you mean about life and time going so quickly. Caitlyn told me that she is starting her application for graduate school for next September. I was so proud of her and then it dawned on me that she is going to be going to *graduate school.* Yikes!!!
$15 is a daily income??? Oh wow. Really that is stunning. When I met BFF for coffee, I got a small, plain coffee- no latte or cappuccino- and that was $2. A latte would be well over $5. I don't even want to say how much my mortgage and taxes are a month.
I LOVE THAT PHOTO!!!! The plant must be "catnip." hahaha!!!!

xoxoxo to everyone!

Morning Ozies!! A quick pop in for me this morning as it my hiking day. It is close by so that is nice and it gives me a bit more time to get my morning things done and then get my backpack all ready to go. We are hiking to the cross on Mt. Tzouhalem this morning, it is a bit of a grueling hike, but oh so enjoyable at the top! Too bad it is not a sunny morning, but we should still be able to see a lovely view from the top of the Mountain.

Chris - I really need to get things caught up here at the O too!! Hopefully I will have time later this afternoon, but oh wait...when I am done hiking I have to meet my sisters and get my eggs, then I have a parcel to mail out too. Oh brother there goes my afternoon LOL. Sorry that the table top is hard to strip, what are you going to use this time for the finish? Enjoy your time outside today, even if it is going to make your hands hurt.

Felis - I will share a photo of my front porch when I finally get my bull rushes. As for the painting of the steps, well I went to do it yesterday afternoon and discovered another reason why DH would not paint them... there is no paint left in the can!! :mmph: now I need to get some more paint purchased. MEN!! Hopefully I will still have a few more days of warm enough weather to get this done! Have fun with your scrapping !

Kay - Hope that you are enjoying your new book! You probably have it all finished by now LOL. Hope that the boys can get your fall decorations down from the attic for you soon. Hope that you are able to get the honey you need for your tea, and that your throat is soon feeling much better!

Ok off I go to make the bed and get ready for my hike. Have a great day ladies!!

We really got heat yesterday too. Official high was 93, a record high not just for Oct. 1st, but the whole month. Previous Oct. high was 90 set on Oct. 6, 1946! It wasn't unpleasant though. Today is warm but not that hot.

Chris, you really inspired me with the pumpkins! I had to make a set for us. I have everything I could need to do them and selecting the yarn and stuff made me remember all the things, including art work, I used to crochet. Doing them was really therapeutic. Now I have them around the pot of an artificial mum DH's sister gave us years ago that I bring out every fall. It's dressed that up nicely. Hope your hands don't get too bad from working on the table and that the result is truly lovely. At least you get to be outside.

Trudy, well I can see that DH couldn't paint the steps without paint. Just one more little hitch in your plans. Hope the hike turns sunny and the view is lovely (and maybe you get a photo to share?) Though busy after, you always like getting together with your sisters. Don't know how you turned into such a busy lady, you never seem to have enough time.

Kay, hope you're not quite so busy today and that the throat is better and you get some honey. (and, Chris, honey vanilla chamomile is one of my fav teas too.) What fun to find "new" clothes. We're going to be needing warmer clothes right quick here after our little heat wave passes by.

Felis, cute cat and the plant is in such a delightful pot whatever it might be. I got into the flash sales yesterday too but haven't started using the goodies yet. Did you see Joanne's new challenge? I did jump in on that one. Your family is so smart to take that half hour each day to just be together. Enjoy it while the weather cooperates letting you do it outdoors.

Nancy, you must be counting the days until the surgery. Meanwhile, lots of sports now.

Good day - late in popping in! I have had one appointment after another just getting stuff ready for the surgery. My GP cleared me for surgery and we had a very nice conversation. So glad that is done now tomorrow it is hair cut and colored and legs waxed. And I have been cleaning up the house. The front steps due to all the acid rain the concrete has allowed the bricks to loosen and it is dangerous. We had an awesome mason in to do the work and because of the weather it went really fast. So happy! The temp today is now 91 degree. WOW. First time since 1941 that we have hit 90s in October but not to worry because tomorrow the high will be low to mid 60s. I would love it if it was just an avg of the those two temps. Last night we out with my girlfriend and had fun catching up as she just got back from a week in Texas. Her DH is a die hard Dallas Cowboy fan so they went to the game and then they got to see the Yankees play. In between sports they love the show Fixer-Upers with Chip and JoAnn and went on tour of the spots in Waco. How fun for them! And the best the NHL opens it season tonight! Hockey is back. My team does not play until Friday but I still love watching all the games. I have just one page left for my Alaska 1977 trip so that makes me happy!

Chris I sure hope you and mother make it to the shore. I know it will do you both good! Sounds like a good project stripping and redoing your table. Good to be outdoors! Though not looking forward to the cold front.

Trudy wow congrats to be back at swimming. I know how much you enjoy it. And so sorry that Heather and Hunter have colds. That is no fun! I bet they are getting heat and then cold too!

Kay that new book sounds good. I am reading the new Oprah book of the Month "The Water Dancer" and while I started it I was not into reading so have to restart it. Hope yesterday's errands and meetings went well.

Jean yes I am into all the sports. LOL That is so cool that you made the crochet pumpkins. I bet they are so festive with the planter! It feels good to get out the "old" arts like knitting and crocheting.

Felis I thought that photo of the planter growing Cat Nip was too cute! I love that you all spend time together each night. That is awesome! The NHL is in Europe this week and are playing a game in Prague. I don't know if that is close to you - my knowledge of European geography is the pits. But I so enjoy seeing the sites that the teams post of the new areas they visit.

Have a great day all!

Good morning girls,
Actually it's afternoon and I'm very late, but I spend my morning in happy unzipping and skrap planing for the weekend. And also some other boring stuff.
Today is one of these 'Chris' kind of days' when you have long list with minor errands, which you disparage, but must finish on time.

Chris, how the table turns out? Hope your hands are well too! I'm so happy about the refund!!! But I'm discuss with my friends that they have lot more taxes and we don't have such a thing as mortgage, because that's are heritage houses. Also we don't drive so much. I go to the capital once a week for shopping, at the other time in my town we just walk around, as from side to side whole distance is about two hours walk. I watched boy that live in Chicago and the closest store is on 2 hours walk, such a maddens.
Hahaha, yes my plant must be exactly this LOL! I also found for strange that Cait will going to graduate school soon, I mean she looks so young, long time I was I thought she is 15th age LOL.

Trudy, LOL, you are in same situation as us, but we really don't know what kind of paint have to bought, seriously why there are so many types? I hope you are more informed! Fingers crossed that weather cooperate for your hike! Yep, $15 is around the basic daily income, of course there is people that got a lot more, and other less, but yes I think summary it is. Food and cosmetics, comes expensive for us as they go similar to our EU neighbours.

Jean, no, I wasn't saw the challenge, thank you so much for let me know, as they are my favorite and I really want to join! Oh, don't forget to show us your variant of the knitting pumpkins! Chris is very creative indeed!

Nancy, hope you aren't nervous about the surgery! At least now you know what to expect. Enjoy the hockey! Oh, and your friend's trip sounds really awesome! Also Prague is one very beautiful town indeed, it have this ancient beauty that you are mentioned before. Hmm, as much as I did quick check the distance Sofia-Prague is almost like New York-Atlanta, I'm not sure is that close or far, its depends from the point view.
