Daily Ooo's: Wednesday, October 19:Feels like Summer Edition!

Oh yeah, baby- it feels like summer and guess where I am going today?????
Down the shore with my mom!!! :dance:

I was bummed that weather and timing weren't going to work out to head down this week, but my mom called me yesterday to say that she had messed up the timing of SIL's birthday dinner plans. She thought that they were meeting at 4pm, but it is really 6pm. That gives her enough time to go with me for a walk on the boardwalk, a nice ocean view lunch, and then head home in time for her to shower and be ready for dinner. I was able to do my online food shopping and I found a promo that saved me $10 off so the fee will only be $4 extra. Gary will pick it up this afternoon and we have frozen pizzas in the order for dinner.

I don't know what is making me happier, that I am actually going down the shore or that I am doing something for myself.

Jaida's appt was good too, the bump we had been feeling is where a wire is placed. Dr said it was most likely a bit of irritation but everything was where it should be. We have to keep an eye on it, but everything looks fine. Some limitations (no roughhousing/dog park kinds of activity) but unless there is an issue, we don't have to go back.

Morning ladies... well it certainly does not feel like summer here today :becky: however it is not raining at the moment and I am hoping that I will be able to get out on my hike today! Yesterday went well with meeting SIL for a bit of shopping and lunch at the cute little bistro that they have in Chemainus. I had the chicken Caesar wrap and it was delicious!! I found a replacement for my gravy boat that I had broken many, many years ago. It is a Royal Dalton Memory Lane one and I have been searching for an affordable replacement for forever! I got a really great deal on it and so I was a happy shopper!! Only found one Christmas Ornament for my granddaughter Sadie, but nothing that I like for the boys, so I might have to go back one day or start looking somewhere online. All in all a pretty good day with a nice visit with Linda and lots of catching up to do. She is a bit less stressed these days as her colonoscopy results came back cancer free!! She is off to visit her grandkids again in November so she is pretty happy about that!

Chris - Yahoo!!! You get to go to the shore today!! Summer like weather too, how awesome is that!! Enjoy my friend! You certainly deserve it!! Glad to hear that Jaida's appt went well also, hopefully you are done with any kind of Dr. appts for a while now! Have fun today and say hi to your Mom for me!

Well I better get my lunch packed for my hike, I already have Chilli in the Crock Pot for dinner tonight so I won't have to worry about making supper when I get home. Hopefully the repair guy is coming tomorrow to fix the oven one last time. This one is a freebie charge and if it blows the thermostat fuse again then that oven is outta here!! Good morning, ladies. Like Trudy said, we sure aren't getting your weather, Chris. Enjoy it. We're looking at another 10 days of almost all rain.

Got bad news yesterday. My DD has been struggling in her marriage of 15 yrs and yesterday left him. She's set up in the spare bedroom and will be staying for an indefinite time. Today I'll give her the keys to the truck so she can have her own vehicle to get around in and I gave her my other laptop as she's used to being on the computer a lot (I can relate LOL, I could not live without the internet). She'll enjoy being here for a bit and maybe get out and look for a job. It's time to put that accounting degree to use. It'll be strange having her here as we're used to having the house to ourselves but it'll be good to spend some time together. The more I hear about their marriage, the more I understand how unhealthy it is for her. So please send some good vibes her way that she can move forward, take the steps she needs to create a happy, healthy life for herself.

Today is work and editing. I didn't get much done yesterday as I spent all afternoon/evening with my daughter so today will have to put my nose to the grindstone. To keep busy today, Jen offered to sand and stain the little computer table I bought last week. I'll gladly pass that job over to her. I'm excited to get the computer set up in the LR corner for me. So maybe this wkend we'll get that set up.

Trudy - hopefully the skies stay clear for your hike. Hopefully the oven is fixable (again), how frustrating.

good late morning - it seemed to take forever to get the boys off. Then a lovely walk with Luther. It is so nice out. And now he is at his bath. It is amazing two weeks and he smells like a dog LOL. So I am so happy as my Devils won their home opener 2-1 over the Ducks and it has been several years since they won a home opener and since they defeated the Ducks. Taylor Hall was awesome and scored both goals. My team hit many posts and open nets but they were working hard. But the game in my section started off a bit scary. As you all may know there is a protest going on where people are not standing during the national anthem. Well sitting next to me they did not stand and there was an Marine and they started really yelling and escalating to almost a fight. And during the start of the game they kept yelling. They all settled down and during the intermission my son also a Marine talked to both parties and he was so cool. He explained to the Marine that they fought for the Constitution that allow these freedoms. He talked the other kid and they were young college students (who I feel are the most idealistic) about just what he and the other fought for and how that deserves some respect. After that it was all calm and no security had to be called. Nice to see my son acting so mature when I know just how much it bothers him not to see people stand. So good vibes prevailed and my team won! Now on Saturday is the dedication of Martin Brodeur statue in the Plaza. So that should be fun.

Chris have a great time at the beach. Walking on the board walk should be so relaxing. It is warm and humid so weird!

Trudy have a great time on your hike! I am sure it will be beautiful. Sounds like such fun with your SIL. Glad you found your gravy boat.

Rae I too love taking photos just for me. One time as a wedding photographer and I am done LOL. I am always impressed by those that do. Have fun with Taz.

Cooler here today but sunny and still nice, so no complaints. Have some errands to do and get some stuff together to meet with two genealogists tomorrow for different projects they're doing. This afternoon we hope the Indians can rebound and win the series.

Chris, I'm sure you're having a great "summer" time at the beach. So glad that worked out.

Nancy, good for your Devils to win the home opener. And extra good for your DS to be such a good influence with the others.
