I had to check/double/triple check the day and date this time. But yes, that is the correct date.

Lower back stretch for today, how does that sound? Push your chair back a boot, feet on the floor. Inhale, then exhale as you slowly stretch toward the floor. Inhale and slowly come back up straight. Inhale..... stretch as you exhale and back up. If you need to do it one more time- go for it. My back is very tight so I am going to do it again.
I spent too much time at my desk yesterday but the good news is that I finished and ordered Christopher's album. I am so used to having free coupons at Shutterfly when I do them that I was sort of startled at how expensive it was going to be. That led me one search for coupons and then other websites. They were all around $30 for an 8x8 softcover and I just don't have it. I found a new website with coupon code for new members. Mix It Up? Mixer something or other. I hope that it is decent. But it is done and that is one less thing I have to stress about.

I started my day cleaning the house. Ray is shedding like crazy and she has that greasy labrador coat. Cait and I took turns brushing her which means fur and dandruff were everywhere. I started with dusting and vacuuming, then the kitchen.

The robin's eggs hatched yesterday too. Four little fluffy chicks! My big concern is that I don't want squirrels to get at them. But I don't typically see squirrels on the patio. Chipmunks yes, squirrels nope. My neighbor told us that squirrels got into a nest last spring and now I am worried.

Tacos for dinner and they, as always, aggravate me. Too many things to prep. LOL Gary and Caitlyn asked if I needed help but my kitchen is so small and I had everything under control until I burned the taco shells. Hahaha!!! But they weren't too bad and I also had flour tortilla shells. S'all good.

It is cold and rainy here today but I have a list of things that need to get done as long as I can focus. I slept much better last night so I least I am not battling exhaustion.

Gratitudes:
-a decent night's sleep
-fuzzy socks
-O-zies!!

xoxo

Oh, I forgot to tell you!! Caitlyn won the Award for Faculty Recognition in the Dept of Psych and Social Sciences! It turned out that is is just an award, not a scholarship but we are over the moon at her being recognized. (Money would have been nice to put towards grad school, but this is still VERY cool!)
There would have been an awards ceremony but they are mailing the award instead. I am also marking my calendar for June 6. The Obamas are hosting three different commencement ceremonies for HS and College grads. I don't know if the kids are going to want to watch (I doubt it) but I am going to have to get me a bottle of champagne, a big ol' box of tissues and some time to watch.

Nancy- that stinks about to run around to get the car to the shop and back. Nice that you got to see Songland, I know that show makes you happy.
We have had chickpea pasta before and I liked it since I like my pasta al dense, but Gary and Scott didn't since they like their pasta mushy. (ick) What did you use for the sauce?
I don't even want to know what Cuomo said about DT hahaha! I think he has had it and doesn't give a s*** anymore.

Trudy- *snorts* that is funny about Mason not wanting to share grandma.
You are doing great with your paintings, I can't wait to see what you do with the raven.
Enjoy your pretty spring weather!

Jean- that is so awesome that they were able to do the zoom H&S. Did they have a successful time syncing it all up?
Fabulous news about the genealogy group doing meetings online too. Necessity is the mother of creativity and we are surely seeing that now.

Felis- Mother Nature has PMS here too. Sunny/windy/cold/rain-- chill out, Mama!
Happy to hear that you and the family had a good day. I never really paid much attention to the story of St George, I agree, doesn't sound like a nice one. I also agree that there's to be a thread of the old gods' mythology in there as well. There always is!
Your mom's cooking sounds delish! We had a friend whose mom moved to the US from
Turkey and she was such a good cook, I loved her baklava. The milinki, I bet they are delicious they sound like something I would enjoy. thanks for sharing

Love to everyone!

good morning - well it is cloudy and should get rain later in the day. I never did make it out for a walk but I think perhaps my body needed a rest. I did not get up until 8am. My DH had already taken Luther out but I will do it later. Made another vegetarian dish sweet potato quesadillas and a romaine salad. OMgosh it was really good. Had a yummy guacamole to dip the quesadillas in. My DH liked but I think he misses meat. Worked on more scrap pages. But mostly spent the day reading another Tony Hillerman book.

Chris congrats on getting the book done and ordered. It is time consuming to get it uploaded and then put in the correct order. I have done all that and then noticed typos. Sorry about burning the shells but it just gives flavor! But really congrats to Cait on receiving such an award. That is awesome. She should be proud of herself!

Trudy how funny that Mason does not want to share you. Glad Hunter is so understanding but I guess when Mason goes back to school perhaps in Sept then Hunter will get his grandmother time. Congrats on getting the new painting commission. You should do well with a Raven.

Jean these Zoom meetings are really great. The H&S group has to be so happy that they could use it to get practice time. And for you to meet with the genealogy group. Remember (as my DH says) there is a mute button and a raise your hand function when people want to talk. I am looking for birds but now of course the leaves are out which makes it even harder and with the wind. Still I look. Glad you got your chipping sparrow back!

Felis I love the idea of mother nature having PMS. There might be snow in the northeast this weekend. North of me but if they are getting snow that means it will be cold by me. But I do see that it will get warmer next week. Yes t-shirt one day heavy jacket the next. I think that reading my old west novels are my version of your victorian romance. The thing in my novels that has always cracked me up is just how hygienic the women seem to be and I am sure that was not a high priority in reality.

Grateful we are well
Grateful you all are healthy

Hello lOvelies!
Jean, guessed right and today was day for cats hugging and kissing. I sent your hugs, dear! As it's rainy again, and we shouldn't do any house work on religious holiday, so I was able just to chill and play with the kids. I'm watching ''Hell's kitchen'' today and plan to read too.
Nancy, the hygiene is big hole in the romantic of this century with sure! You are so right: in the novels they looks so elegant and clean, but when I read biographical novels from the same age, I see that this isn't be true. I watched movie for some girl, she was painter's muse, I'm not sure for her name. But she comes from France countryside with river and well, to work with the impressionists (one of their naked models) and she was horrified how in Paris is almost impossible for ladies to get bath. Men have public baths. But lady can use only tub in small rooms where they lives. You know Degas famous tub series. Oh and the tiniest dogs as mine are created to takes the fleas from the big ladies dresses.

OK, enough for the past let see the personals:
Nancy, I skipped the dog walks today too. Poor baby comes all wet and she at least wear raincoats. Biggie who run at the yard collect all the water from the grass on his long fur, and then make this doggy thing when shake and put it on you :mad2:. Your quesadillas sounds really yummy.

Chris, hooray for the Cait this girl is superstar! I want to order customized puzzle but they are so expensive compared with the income here. I print at photobox.co.uk and they have coupons for books sometimes, but never for puzzle. So I can imagine the stress to find this coupon! Did book will go on time? Wishing luck to the robin's eggs! Will be so nice to have little ones around! We had swallows before, when cats wasn't so many, but now is too dangerous.

Good morning ladies... Oh my gosh it is so windy today!! I had to hurry out to the sidewalk to pick up the trash can before it blew all the way down the street LOL. Garbage pick up was early today, but I heard the truck and thought that the wind might carry it away. I will have to keep an eye on the neighbours as I am not sure if everyone is home this morning. They should be as we are still in isolation, but some get out early to get groceries etc. Anyway I have had a busy morning. I have already had my face time with Mason and Hunter (well Hunter got to say hello and good-bye to me LOL). Everyone seems to be happy enough, but I am sure that Heather is wishing that school was back in and that she could get back to her course. She could not have picked a worse time to be taking a travel agent course LOL. Hopefully one day it will be a good thing to have taken. :pray2: I got my morning chores done and then got the coasters and matching trivets all resined. They will have to sit for a few days to cure and then I can get them to their new home. I will get to work on the Raven painting today also. Yesterday was so nice and warm and not windy!! We sat out on the upper front deck and soaked up the sun and had a glass of wine before starting dinner. It felt so good to be in the sunshine. Hopefully the wind will die down this afternoon and we can do the same this evening! Not sure if I will get my walk in today with this wind, I might get blown away LOL.

Chris - Wow Congrats to Caitlyn!! What a smarty pants she is LOL!! Tell her how proud of her we all are!! Sure hope that the squirrels stay away from the baby birds! They can be little devils those darn squirrels!! Sure hope that your photo book turns out great and so glad that you were able to find the coupon for it!! Uggh on the shedding hair everywhere, but I guess that is life with dogs right?? Hope you get some sunshine soon!!

Nancy - Are you having trouble getting meat in your stores? Or have you decided to try going vegetarian ?? I must have missed something, somewhere LOL. I will have to get to the gallery today and check out all of your new pages!! So glad you have been scrapping so much!! Hope that the rain holds off long enough for you and Luther to get in your walk today! Enjoy your reading today!

Jean - How fun that the Hum and Strum happened for your hubby! Hope it went well and everyone was in sync! I was supposed to have a zoom coffee chat with the hiking group this morning, but I was too busy with Mason and Hunter, perhaps I will get to see everyone if they have another one next week?? Glad to hear that your genealogy meeting happened also!! Yes I feel much better now that it is May also! Guess the birds singing and the flowers blooming bring out a happier mood!

Felis - Your religious holiday sounds fascinating!! So glad that you enjoyed your lovely day outside in the garden and the sunshine! Now today you have had rain and a good time to just do nothing and enjoy your kittys!! Hope hells kitchen was good, I haven't really ever watched that show, but get a kick out of the host! Hope you find a nice romantic novel to read, one that is set in the Victorian era!!

Ok I best get going with my Raven painting and then I need to get two birthday cards made for Mason and Isaac who both were born in June. The way the mail is going these days it might take a month for them to arrive to their destination :mmph: Have a wonderful day everyone!

Managed to sleep in this morning... didn't wake up until almost 8AM... but then again... I did read until 10:30 PM. Guess that is the reason for the late wake-up. We are getting a bit of a break in the HOT temps... only going up to 82 today vs 89 the past few days. Too bad that the allergies are so high right now... even the 24 hour meds doesn't last long so am blowing and coughing from the post-nasal drip.

I called the base pharmacy on Monday and got my Rx transferred to the base. She also took my Rx refill numbers so they will all be ready for me on late Thursday. Will wait until Friday to pick them up. Discovered that I can use the commissary and exchange if wearing a mask so will stop there, too. That will be a long day so not planning on doing anything else.

I forgot about Cino de Mayo yesterday... so didn't have a Mexican meal. Well... now that I think about it - had a cheese Quesadilla for lunch. Guess that will count. LOL

Chris, congrats to Caitlyn for getting the award. Too bad it didn't have a scholarship with it. Ouch... that is expensive for getting the book printed! Hope you found another place with a coupon you could use. Oh, baby birds!!! hope none of the critters get into the nest.

Trudy, I hear you about the wind blowing trash bins away... we are expecting high winds tomorrow [our trash and recycle day]. I will have to keep an eye out to make sure mine don't blow away, too. You are a good neighbor to keep an eye for their bins. Can't wait to see what you do with the Raven! Glad you got out in the sunshine yesterday.

Nancy, my DD#2 was complaining about how cool it is there still. Hope it warms up soon for you. Which one of the Tony Hillderman books are you reading. I have them all and love to re-read them.

Ooops... DD#1 is calling. CYL
