LOL! Happy fourth! I am personally not a huge Star Wars fan even though I have watched a lot of the movies and gained a minimal appreciation for it through osmosis from Scott and Gary.

Gary had a decent b-day, it was just like any other day- but with a few extra phone calls from the family. I made myself a little crazy, I am trying to look for something to wear for all of the different events coming up and I HATE shopping for clothes. If I could wear leggings and a long t-shirt I'd be happy. I poked around online but b/c I haven't bought "real" clothes in forever I really have no idea what would even look nice on me.
At least I have made the appt for my haircut and color. One thing down, a gazillion more to go :p

I am picking up my grocery order this morning and cleaning this afternoon. And I need to figure out what I am going about dinner. Basically, my same day on repeat.

HAGD!

Thanks for all of the b-day wishes for Gary #kiss3

@taxed4ever hahaha!!! Your days sound like mine-- some scrapping, some rain, some dinner questions, some gift questions-- I can't believe that Mother's Day is Sunday and I have nothing for the moms.
Good thoughts to SIL Linda this weekend- I hope that she and DS can repair their relationship.
Gary says he didn't want any gifts and then turns around and asks *me* what I want. pfffft
TY for the gift ideas!

@tanteva o_Oo_Oo_O LOL at that birthday meme!

@bcgal00 coffee on the deck sounds like a very peaceful start to your day with D. I love hearing that!
Thx for the gift ideas too- I asked the kids about it- Scott if he needed anything for work/camping and he said no. Caitlyn wants her student loans paid off  *grumbles*

@Cherylndesigns oh wow, there were tornados by you last night??? You would get an alert on your phones if it was close right?

@tanteva Gary will be thrilled! ROTFLMAO
To honor Gary's birthday I just spent $15 in the shop. I love shopping gifts .... for myself ... LOL

A suggestion @faerywings - demand all events have a 80's theme! I mean, 80's fashion might look terrible, but it sure was confy!

80sFashionTrends-Neon.jpg

Which reminds me ... gotta see if I have any photos of me wearing my neon foot-long coat. I was so good looking in the 80s. Why is it so hard to find neon colored clothes these days? LOL

I must have turned off my alarm this morning, cuz I woke up, felt fine and wondered how I wasn't super tired, when I woke up before the alarm, and even before Urban got up and went to work. I must have slept like a dead ... clock was 10.25. LOL I hadn't heard anything. So much for me doing tons of scrapping today. LOL

Dinner plans = rice. And something. Nuggets for John probably, and I'll just wing up some kind of fry-up for us, I think.

Oh, and Star Wars ... only things more boring is LOTR & superhero movies. I need a new movie trend ASAP.

Morning everyone! It's Wednesday and I should be getting ready for my hike, but it is very, very far away and gas prices are still so terrible. I will be staying home today. It's not that nice of a day anyway, so hopefully it will clear up a bit this afternoon and I will get out for a walk. Like @faerywings , my day will be much the same as yesterday. I got the card started for MIL, so hope to get that finished today. I started a layout for one of the challenges too, so need to get that finished up. Always lots of things on the go, just never seem to get anything finished. I spent waaayyyy too much time on Pinterest yesterday looking at card ideas and then would be like a dog that sees a squirrel and would be off looking at some other projects that caught my eye. LOL I probably had a better attention span when I was a three year old than I do now!! #crazy

@faerywings - Hope you can find something nice to wear for all the upcoming celebrations! Perhaps a nice dressy tunic top with a new pair of leggings, or a cute little black dress is always a good choice that can be worn to many occasions and changed up by adding a nice necklace and stylish shoes. I always look for something that is on the comfy side these days. It's great that you have your appointment made to get your hair cut and colored! Remember to stick to your list and you will get it all done, one thing at a time! Hope that you and your Gary can figure out what to get for Caitlyn and Scott!

@tanteva - Ohhh look at all that neon LOL! Yup clothes were very colorful and comfy in the 80's!! How great to have such a long sleep in!! You must have needed it! I am sure you will still get lots of scrapping done though.

@bcgal00 - What a lovely way to start your mornings! How nice that the weather is so much better where you are that you can do that! You will make it to the top of that hill one of these days and after a while it get easier and easier. I was like that when I first started hiking, wondered how I would every do some of the steep uphills, but now its so much better and I rather enjoy the more difficult climbs! Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck today!

@Cherylndesigns - Had to laugh that you took so to get your conversation finished here yesterday, its like that for me most mornings, too many other distractions LOL. That is kind of scary that there tornado warnings near you! Like you say, the world could fall to pieces when you don't watch regular tv! I hope that you keep your phone close from now on and get alerts that way! Thanks for the suggestion of Dr. Nicole Apelian I will check her out and perhaps there is someone here in Canada that I can look up who does similar work.

Well on with my somewhat boring day, another day, just like the other day LOL. Have a great one!

Good morning, ladies. I'm embracing retirement :) I never do this but we are watching one of our shows this morning, The Masked Singer (at 8:00 am). I never watch TV in the morning but when I told D that we should catch up on the MS tonight he said, why not watch now? I realized, ok, we have nothing we have to do at any specific time, so why not LOL. Feels funny to have morning coffee and watch tv. I'll only watch one episode though and then shower and get on with my day. I need to go to the pet store later and have to figure out what to have for dinner. I think the gas hookup guy comes tomorrow. That will make dinners easier for Darrell b/c he likes burgers, steaks, pork chops and hotdogs on the BBQ.

I've got house chores to do later. There is more to do now that we have a bigger house but its worth it. I ordered a vileda spin mop to do the walls and corners. The swiffer is fast and easy but not as thorough. I planted the honeysuckle last night. It won't grow much this summer but next spring it should start to fill up the corner garden patch.

@faerywings We are in the Gary and Scott camp as SW fans. We love them all.

@taxed4ever I completely get the pinterest rabbit hole. I go down it all the time. I can spend hours browsing.

I'm going to get a muffin and coffee now and then hop in the shower.

Morning, everyone. Slept in this morning until 8:30 AM and I went to sleep at 9:30 PM!!! Not sure what brought that on. I was busy all day yesterday with some CT work. Then Chari came by to pick me up to go to her foot doctor's appt. Wonder of wonders... she is now driving and able to walk without the walker!!! The doc was very pleased with how she is doing and said she could take the boot off!!! He gave her an ankle brace for her foot. She starts PT tomorrow afternoon. Then we had a nice long visit at my house after the dr. appt.

Speaking of new clothes... I had bought a light turquoise long tunic and a pair of light and dark turquoise/white print leggings a couple of weeks ago. Bought my usual size in the top but it was too big. Couldn't find another top in a smaller size at 3 of the stores, so ended up with a white long tunic and a light turquoise/white striped long tee to wear with the leggings. I bought the same leggings in Chari's size and gave them and the too large top to her. While I was out shopping for the top, I ended up getting a dusty rose tunic and dusty rose/white leggings. Also found 2 more leggings on sale, so got them. I found I already had a long tunic in chili red that matched a chili red and white Indian print pair of leggings. Still looking for a solid blue tunic to match the other pair of leggings. I really like the long length tunic style to wear with the leggings. But, I won't be wearing any of them today as the high may make it into the mid-60's.... quite a change from the mid-80's we have been having.

Yes, the fires are still raging... and there are more evacuations. Las Vegas, New Mexico had a partial evacuation of the northern part of town Monday and Tuesday and looks like the rest of the town may have to evacuate today. That was a shelter point for other towns and now those people have to leave for another shelter. The winds will be strong for the rest of the week which is driving the fires. There is over 100,000 acres burnt already in that one fire... plus there are 4 more active fires elsewhere in the state.

@Cherylndesigns I understand about not hearing about the tornado warnings due to not watching/getting local TV stations in your area... So glad that my indoor antenna brings in some local station plus I get Weather Nation. I keep checking them every day due to the fires burning and all the state under a Fire Warning. So sorry to hear about the tornados that hit OK yesterday. Do you have a portable radio with an emergency broadcast on it??? That could give you some warning if the weather turns severe. Yes, my DH loved the shirts with snaps. They sell out quickly here, too.

@faerywings Hope you find a couple of new clothes to wear for the up-coming events. It will be a busy month for your family. Your Gary sounds like my DH did... no presents wanted or needed but would want to buy me something for my special day. I would always tell him I would like to have dinner out (no cooking for me) and spend time with him.

@bcgal00 Nice way to start the morning... and had to LOL over your unpacking 10 boxes and still have 30+ to go! I would swear that the boxes doubled over night when I was unpacking. I really am enjoying seeing your photos on FB.... looks like there is as many or more places to see the wildlife in your new town.

Time to get another #coffee then get dressed before this turns into a PJ day. Tomorrow is another errand running day.... plus face getting gas for the SUV. Hope everyone has a good day.

Just read this blog post. https://www.acraftyconcept.com/help-Ukraine/

If you like me shop digital patterns and other DIGITAL downloads, why not check out the Ukrainian sellers? An easy way to help people directly. Note what she says in the blog post - order only direct digital downloads, not stuff that they need to make. And - if you don't need to shop, or just never do shop digital patterns: share the link to the blog post & and maybe another person will shop.

Good afternoon all.

Rain, rain, rain and more rain. We're talking about building an Ark. One more day of this - according to the weather app. We live up high on a hill, but the pond down in the lower area is totally flooded. This is why people have those big high trucks. We have an SUV, but it isn't very high off the ground. The people who are renting the cabin long-term can't get in or out right now. They have a small car.

We do get weather alerts on our phone, but didn't get the tornado warning. Chuck said it really didn't come into our county and we live in the middle of nowhere so we wouldn't hear it if they sounded sirens like they did when we lived in towns. We DID get some high winds, but that's not unusual here. We had a lot of thunder and lightening though.

Chris @faerywings I'm giggling about "real clothes" - that's what I call them, too. I live in leggings, t-shirts and zip up hoodies. I bought some "real clothes" last spring to wear to a bridal shower and it got cancelled. They're still hanging in my closet - tags are still on them. I'll try to track them down on Amazon - the pants are amazing and fit like a glove! They fit so well that I ordered a pair in black. I know I'll wear the black ones more often. The ones I ordered are the most beautiful shade of blue and I got a lovely long shirt to wear which I can dress up with jeans if I want to. You're probably about my size and I'm not very tall.

Glad you got your hair appt set up at least. SO much to do. LOL Have you ever had any Democracy jeans/pants? I swear by them in jeans - they have a whole line called AB solution - AMAZING! They're pull-on but you cannot tell - they look like regular jeans. They make all different "cuts" too. I have the skinny jeans, straight legs, small boot cut and regular boot cut. I hadn't worn jeans for years because they were so uncomfortable until I found these. They make pants and skirts too.

I know Macey's carries them if you have a store near you and could go try them on. They have beautiful summer pants, too.

Kay @BrightEyes terrible about the fires - I'm keeping my eye on those! Hope you don't have to evacuate - how close are they to you? I just heard that they're in Vegas now!

Your new outfit sounds great - my kind of clothes! I have so many pairs of leggings and am so happy that they're "IN" now! Those long tunics sound awesome, too! Glad Chari is doing so well and she's driving!!! Yay!

Trudy @taxed4ever do look at Nicole's website - she has a lot of information on sleeping. It's pretty amazing information - who knew that herbs could help with so many things. A lot of them are growing wild in our yards, too. She sells a lot of tinctures - liquids that are made with specific ingredients and you just use the dropper - that's really convenient. I'm sure someone local could help you - good luck. They sure have helped me!

Well, I've actually started and finished this in 15 minutes. Hahaha That's a record.

Happy Hump Day!

Good evening ladies! We made it to Paris! i love rail travel in Europe. Tomorrow we have family photos in the morning. Then just exploring for the remainder of the day. I don’t really know what day it is. Lol. Just try to make sure that I know which days we travel.

@faerywings you will look great in whatever you buy so don’t stress!

@BrightEyes the fires sound awful. Hope they stay away from you.

@taxed4ever i am so sorry that these stupid gas prices continue to be a problem!

@bcgal00 i love your realization that you can watch your tv show anytime because you are retired. Lol

@Cherylndesigns sorry that you have all this rain at one time. No one needs flooding.

@tantevhope you had a good day. I agree, shopping for gifts for myself is the best!
