GoooOd morning, lOvely Os! Here we are, halfway through the week and I feel like I am totally MIA. I will be MIA again today. I am going to my parents' house in PA, just for the day, to help with some yard work with Scott and my dad. They will be leveling the driveway gravel and I am going to do some weeding. The weather should be nice, as long as it dried up a bit after all of the rain that we got yesterday.

So what did I do yesterday? I kind of have no idea. LOL Food shopping. Cleaned out some old makeup and clothes. Cleaned up dog pee and throw up. Insanely exciting. Could barely stand it. hahaha! I *did* finish a LO for a June Challenge. Not thrilled with it, it isn't really "my style" but I am happy with it overall and it only took me 2 days! :whoo:

So that is about it. I am leaving her around 8.30 so I have a long day ahead of me but it should be good.

Wishing you all the best!

xoxo

Nancy- did you get a lot of rain too? Thankfully, it wasn't heavy downpours, but what a cod and drizzly mess. Awesome that hockey is still going strong for you. Bet you can't wait for the Cup series to start.
How in the world do you and Charles get Luther to stop barking??? J is the worst! Then she gets W going. Argh! Harley and Ray were/are not barkers. We are at a loss with J. Too funny about wanting your son to be born on the 13th. I was induced with Caitlyn and I could have had her on the 21st or the 22nd. I chose the 21st for that exact same reason. :D

Trudy- Your yard always looks so pretty but it must be a satisfying feeling to work hard and see great results. Hope that Shaw was able to do what they had to do quickly and that you got to enjoy a nice walk in the sun.

Felis- Oh wow. I am sort of shocked at the attitude of marriage. I can't imagine it, but I guess if that is what is culturally accepted and acceptable... It just seems sad. :(

I imagine missing your granny makes the day even sadder. Hugs to you!
Yeah, my kids are crazy and went to the store in PJs. I don't think that is they the first time they have done something like that either. They make me laugh :)
I wish I could figure out why W runs off like that. She has to smell something because it isn't all of the time that she tries to get out. And once she is out the door, she bolts! That dog is fast.

Rae- that was really nice of you to stay with B so Jen could get a tiny break. I cannot imagine what you all are going through. :( Is the neuro unit any better at keeping her on track? I really hope so. ITA that it would be good for Jen to move it first, that way there kinks will be worked out before B comes home. I am always hoping that it happened soon- but only after she is ready.

I hope that you are keeping up with your morning routine of taking care of yourself too.

good morning - yesterday was dry in the morning so Luther and I got out for a nice walk. But in the afternoon we had downpours and overnight we had one loud thunderstorm with more rain. Luckily neither the cat or dog seemed bothered by it so that was good. And I love the sound of rain while going to sleep. Now this morning it is becoming sunny and should be in the low 80s. Yea. To be able to walk without a coat is so awesome. Tonight is out to Panera's for dinner and fun conversation. Then tonight is game 7 - the winner goes to the Stanley cup final. The loser gets summer vacation after cleaning out their lockers and the final talk with reporters. I will hope that the Golden Knights will win the Cup no matter which team from the east. I watched baseball first the Mets for an hour and it was sad how poorly they played and eventually lost so I turned to Yankees and they too were not very good but the Texas pitcher Coles Hammel pitched so well. So I think what this tells me is that I am still into hockey! LOL

Chris I feel like my day was the same lol. Congrats on the food shopping. And I have no idea how to keep a dog from running as Luther has a fenced back yard and he will run if he sees a bird or a rabbit or a squirrel. Have fun in PA.

Trudy hope the Shaw change did not take too long and you still had time to FaceTime with Heather.

Felis that is so interesting your take on marriage based on your parents. But I totally understand. In my case as a working mom I made money so I never felt that my DH brought home money and I had to cook and clean in fact he is really good at all domestic chores. And because of that the boys realize that women are not maids but partners. Sorry the day is sad. This Friday is my 44 wedding anniversary. I did not forget but I have get him his present. He need a coffee maker for his lab so that is what he is getting.

Rae sounds like big changes are coming. It was so nice to of you to give Jen some alone time. Glad that you and B enjoyed some movies. But best to know you had fun and long walks with Taz. I am sure he is happy!

Jean saw the Indians scored 10 runs last night.

Have a great day all!

Morning O-zies! Another quickie post from me today as I will soon be out the door to go on my hike. It is near Ladysmith today, so I will be picking up DH's sister to join us on our hike. It should be a very warm one, but most of it is in dappled shade along a creek. Also picking up my brother's wife who will be joining in the hike also! Lots of chatter on this hike I bet! LOL. Well the shaw people took most of the day to get things switched around and they still are not done. They will be here again tomorrow to hardwire my computer and do a few other things that could not be done yesterday. I don't understand it, but we are now totally wireless and everything seems to be working just fine. :noidea: Its pretty cool that we now have blue sky tv where you just talk to the remote control and it plays what you want to see. OMG how lazy have we all become??

Chris - I am feeling the same way as you and have been very MIA this past couple of weeks, we really could use some help with the posting team! I have no mojo right now and seem to be so busy with life right now and it will only get busier in the next few months. I hope you enjoy a wonderful day outside in the sunshine helping out your parents! You are a good daughter! Yes our back yard is looking very nice, but sadly we don't spend much time out there because of our bad neighbours. I am looking for some kind of a privacy screen for the back deck, but that doesn't stop the noise unfortunately. At least we wouldn't have to look at them while they scream and swear at each other LOL.

Nancy - Another lovely evening for you with hockey and Panera's :hungry: enjoy! I too am hoping the Golden Knights win and bet my DH that they would, he doesn't think so, so now I am really routing for them LOL. Glad that you are able to get out for a walk without a coat finally! I did not get to do my walk yesterday as Shaw was here for the majority of the day and when they left it was time to get dinner started :mmph: Oh well! I hope you and Luther enjoy the nice weather!

Felis - I am also sad that your people think that way about marriage! But I suppose if it is hard for women to find work, then I suppose that is the way they would think? I hope that is not the way that the younger generation see marriage! I hope that you are able to get out and enjoy the nice weather with all of your furry friends!

Ok I am sorry but the rest will have to wait until later on today after my hike. I gotta go :bolt:

Good morning, ladies. It's a beautiful day here so Taz will have fun out in the sunshine all day at doggie daycare. I'll have to bring him home a little earlier than usual so we can get up to the hospital but he'll get 8 hrs of playtime so that should tire him out.

The neuro dept is quieter and B is more settled now that she has her own room again. Its better for security too. They sit outside her room on the other side of a window so they can look in and watch her. She can pull a curtain across to have a bit of privacy in her small sitting area but they only leave her alone for 15-20 minutes and then check on her. Neuro said they will talk to us in the next 3-4 weeks about where she might possibly go to from there. After a few more pulse treatments they will have a better idea of what her baseline is and how much care will be needed for her.

I couldn't sleep much last night so watched tv shows off and on as I dozed. Around 4:30 the cable went out. Ugh. It wanted to do an update so it took about an hour for it to reset and come back on. I finally dozed off for the last time around 5:30 til 7. So today I'll need a few extra cups of coffee to keep me going.

Chris - enjoy your day and don't overdo it with the yard work.

Trudy - let us know how you like blue sky tv. I'm thinking of switching to that soon, before Jen moves in and we can get it in the other bedrooms for them. The blue sky is from Comcast in the States. I was talking to the guy about it last week when we picked up a new box from Comcast for the trailer. I really like the voice activation. It is so handy. Our system in Bellingham works great so hopefully the Canadian one does too.

Nancy - sounds like a fun day, dinner out and then hockey. Enjoy it!

Felis, Jean and everyone else. Hope all is well.

I've got to get back to work so gotta rush out of here.

Hello girls,
No, this is totally misunderstood of my yesterday's post about the marriage. In my culture the woman never is been just a housewife. Because of the wars and many widows, women always are been strong and we don't have feminist period, because women always are been side by side with the men. But in present days the Wife work 8 hours as lawyer, doctor or what ever she want. And then her working day continued at home with cooking, cleaning and laundering, till the husband in the best case will help to kids to write their homework, but usually will drink beer and watch sport. And when the love end they are just roommates who shared common budget. It's not necessary he to earn more than her, but because she continued to care for him it's looks like he paid for that attention, exactly as Nancy is said as for maids. That is why my mom is against the marriage. When you are independent and already have all you need, why to take care for some man, who will stop loving you anyway?! It's a lonely life, but yes it's become very popular point view here.
And that is one of the reasons we often argued. She drive me to tears accusing me that I'll suffering, because I have not given up yet from this romantic expectation for the life, which she hate.

Anyway! Out of the philosophy, here was boring and gray day. One of those at which end you are wondering where the hell time is gone, without being able to mark something special.

Chris, I know you love gardening so have fun with your parents! But I had the impression that Scott and Leah had to do that?!

Nancy, I love the sound of rain on a roof too! And my pets also don't get bothered by the thunderstorms, so I love these summer storms! Get fun on tonight's dinner! Oh a coffee maker for WA gift sounds so cute! He will think for you every time when gets refreshing coffee! See such a things makes me still to believe in love!

Trudy, this hike sounds me like awesome ladies party! Looks like the things with new provider goes well. I'm not surprised they needs more than one day, it's something usual at these cases, I think. At least you don't have to keep a dog away from them :) as us!

Rae, the new environment around B sounds much better and hope it's help her! Did losing of appetite is worrying sign?! I'm sure you'll can easy find new dynamic of living when she come to live with you!

Jean, I know you are still sad because of your cousin, but I hope you knows we love you and thought about you!

:hello: everyone, oh man I am bushed!!! It was a beautiful hike and lots and lots of fun chatter! We had to stop several times on the hike up the mountain, it was just so warm. We had lunch at the lookout point at the top of the mountain and saw lots of waterfalls and beautiful flowing creeks and streams. So we stopped at SIL Linda's place on the way home and enjoyed a lovely glass of wine and chatted a bit more before heading home. I only had a small glass as I was the driver. Got home and showered and cooled down and now I am ready for a nap LOL. So glad that I convinced my Gary to BBQ burgers tonight!

Rae - I will for sure let you know how we like the Blue Sky TV! So far its pretty cool and works really well. I am so happy to hear that B is improving with being in the Neuro Dept. I can't believe that they did not put her there right from the get go?? Keeping my fingers crossed that she will improve greatly in the next few weeks! I hope that Taz has fun at doggie day care and that you are able to enjoy some of the gorgeous sunshine that we are getting today! I think of you everyday and hope that you are all hanging in there! :hang in:

Felis - Oh so funny that we have all misunderstood what you were trying to tell us about how your mother feels about marriage ! Don't ever give up on finding love and happiness it will come to you when you least expect it! Happiness is like a Butterfly, the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder! I love that quote!! Yes another day with the shaw people tomorrow, but thats ok it will be done right and that is what matters!

Jean - Sorry that you are still having to deal with the unhappy chore of final arrangements for your DH's cousin. I hope that you will be able to move on to more cheerful things soon!

Ok I need to get a few things ready for DH to do his BBQ'ing tonight! I always love to have mushrooms and bacon on my burger so I better get that Bacon cooked! I hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Yesterday we chose a niche at the cemetery in a lovely spot. We felt really good about that but legal affairs kept getting more complicated. Today there may be a better turn for that. Of course we're working from three different states, only SIL on location. Today was beautiful and a couple of other good things, I got my new crown at the dentist and Dick got a tree company that will come to remove three little trees, two already dead, one in bad shape. He'd been meaning to do it for a long time, and it was total serendipity that this came about.

Chris, hope you didn't get too worn out today, but it was work that will benefit you all when you go to PA. Glad you got a LO done. I haven't had any inclination in that direction for a bit.

Nancy, so it will be the Caps and the Golden Knights. Should be interesting. If you can wait that long for more games! In baseball, the Indians only scored one run tonight, but it was enough to beat the Cubs! Less said about the Cavs tonight the better. Congrats on the upcoming 44th anniversary. The coffee maker sounds like a nice gift for DH.

Trudy, how sweet to all go on that lovely hike. Sounds wonderful and the (small) glass of wine after. If the new Blue Sky TV really works well, it will certainly be worth the time spent setting it up.

Rae, glad to hear about the neuro unit and how it is better for B. Your description even sounds peaceful. Wish you were sleeping better, but you'll have to do whatever you can.

Felis, sorry to hear about that view of marriage. You know I don't feel that way after 50 years, but we don't have children, so have always been there for each other. You'll keep your own ideas despite your mother's opinion so maybe not to talk with her about it if you can avoid it.
