:drama:
Iy-yi-yiiiiiiii!!! I have *got* to stop being so needy for caffeine in the mornings, becasue for some reason, chaos reign in my house beofre 6am! ound:
Poor Cait got to be an "ear-witness" last night to a fight between Brendan and his S-F-AH. And I shouldn't even use the word "between" since it was him screaming and Brendan asking him to stop screaming. Cait is heartbroken that someone she cares about so deeply is being treated like this and she can't do anything to help. I spent almost an hour upstairs in her room listening to her, and holding her while she cried. But that also means that we are both running really late. uh-oh!
pretty successful day for me yesterday, albeit exhausting. I picked up a couple of things for Scott. My mom had $130 in Kohl's cash and a 20% off coupon, so I was able to get two new bras. I now just wear sport bra style ones, my scar had been acting up and anything else seems to aggravate it. Some hot sauce combo for Scott's b-day. He is *addicted* to hot sauce. And the best thing-- thjey now make the refillable coffee pods for the Keurig 2.0 coffee makers. Remember how I got the spot for the Keurig House Party? We couldn't use the new coffee maker b/c you couldn't use your own coffee and the K-Cups are so expensive when you go through as much coffee a day as we do. But I found one yesterday! Woo hoo!!!!!!! We cleaned out and put away the old one that only works properly some of the time and brought out the new one again. Very exciting!
The best part of the day after weeks of discussing and pulling teeth with Scott, we have his b-day dinner plans with parents/girlfriend/both sets of g-parents all set. Family, Leah and my parents tomorrow, his actual b-day and Gary's parents on Sat.
Off to go food shopping this morning . yay. Then I *have* to put my feet up or I will never make it through the next few days.
I hope that all of you have fantastic days ahead of you!
QOTD Thinking about g-parents, I know how special it is that my kids have 4 g-parents (and one g-grandma, although she has dementia so we don't get to see her very often) I also had all 4 g-parents growing up and still had two when I got married. My dad's mom passed away the week after Cait was born, and she was my last living g-parent.
Did you have all g-parents growing up? What good memories of your g-parents do you have? If you didn't have g-parents, what do you like best about being one, or what do you hope to be like when you are one?
My grandparents were all very traditional Italian g-parents. Loud and large family gatherings. My maternal g-ma and I were really close, she was a trip! My mom used to let me cut school and visit her. My paternal g-mother didn't care for me very much. My brother-- first born *and* male* was the only one that mattered. My maternal g-pa worked really hard, owned a barber shop but when we would stay over he would always bring apple turnovers home for us. And my paternal g-pa- he always would make funny faces at us, and called soda "belly wash."
I miss them, even my Grandma I.
