Yesterday was one of the best weather days in a long, long, looooong time! It was fan-TAS-tic! Sunny and warm. I messed up though. I went out around 10.30 and thought that it was 1.30 so I went in. It was actually 12.30 and would have stayed out longer had I realized. Most of the time was washing off the patio and the siding which was filthy. I set up my little fairy "house" on the stops which made me happy. We have those brown "strings" falling from the trees that roll around into tumbleweeds and sweeping them up makes me sneeze my head off. I should have thought ahead and taken some allergy meds before I started.

I also swept/mopped/vacuumed all of the floors downstairs so I was a good person and did some inside work. It is another beautiful day today and I don't care about the inside of the house. I have to pick up groceries and then the day is mine. [insert Elmo and flames GIF] I have to be careful, I am cleaning tomorrow for my friend and can't hurt my back. I also need to be outside so I stop being so anxious about Scott. He had an ultrasound yesterday. A lump on his skull appeared out of nowhere. The GP wanted it biopsied but the biopsy dude couldn't and sent him for an u/s. It might be some sort of boney growth? I don't think a week has gone by that he has not been at a dr since the New Year. I wish I had answers for him cuz this running around with everyone shaking their heads with no idea is draining him down.

I have good news from Caitlyn! Actually two bits of good news. She got straight As again. The one class that she thought she was going to get a B in actually ended up as an A-. Not *technically* an A, according to her, but wow. Her first year in Grad school: 7 As and 1 A-. The other good news is that she got that scholarship!! The not as good part is that the donors were so impressed by the finalists that they decided to split the money equally among them. instead of $2500 to one person it was $500 each which will cover maybe two textbooks. But that is still way better than nothing and is one more thing that she should be super proud of.

Whoops, I got distracted and almost closed out of this without posting. You all would have missed me, eh? :D

@tanteva whatever works to help keep us going in the right direction is a good thing. SO happy that the Calm app works for you. I was feeling guilty that I dropped a lot of money on my garden this year and realized how much better I feel when I am out there. Way cheaper than therapy however :D
Scott is the same way with instruments, that makes me jealous. He doesn't care about perfectionism- he has played Christmas Carols on a plastic tube and an empty pen barrel. Gary is more of a perfectionist with the guitar and has given up on that for the most part. I am like you- do a little of this, a little of that- but I suck at it all. haha!!

Kay- I have been trying to clean up my Hard drive mess and then I get nervous about deleting something. But you know, I have rarely ever looked for something that I had deleted which is a sign that I should do that more.
That is bonkers about the weather and the first thing I thought was how is your body holding up to the drops in temps and pressure.

Eva- that is like hitting the jackpot- great news on the old computer and kits!

@Cherylndesigns I feel the same way about all of you-- so happy that we truly support each other in good times and bad. The little things like TV or book recs, the camera recs, the jokes all the way up to being a support system when things are bad. It also makes me full of gratitude that we share each other with our families. I had said to Caitlyn how anyone who didn't know that Eva and I will bust on each other would think we hated each other. She jokes back - "I think I love her (Eva)." My family knows all about you and how much you mean to me.

You would think that with all of the gardening and moving around out there, that maybe, just maybe, I would have toned up/lost a pound. Nope. I am happy that you are not wincing anymore, that is a good sign.

Eva- I can tell that you are better than you were all that time ago because you can *see* that it was a mess but you are trying to fix that now instead of falling into despair or anger over it. Great insights!!

I said something like that to hubby yesterday ... I LOVE BEING BACK AT OSCRAPS ... we have so much fun, haven't we. And I love how everyone just welcomed me back with all hearts and open arms. *L*O*V*E*

And I love the files I just finished sorting! And I'm glad I did get up there and check. 100+ layouts that wasn't backed up!!! And I had lots of kits et al that I didn't have on the EHD. Only copied the file named "Misc Osraps" and in just that one I think I got like 30-40 "new" kits from different designers. [Dido!!! Where did Dido go??? Loved her kits!] Maybe should get the rest of the files from other stores as well, just to make sure everything is backed up ... but ... The O is my hOme ... do I really need the rest? :)

I think it's just great that I found it all. But like you say @faerywings - it's great that I can be happy and not just be mad at myself. I've changed so much - insights like that proves it to myself every day. A couple of years ago, I would have been nagging on myself for ages for making such a mistake. But I do feel a bit stupid, cuz I even said to my hubby a while back, that I couldn't understand I had so few Palettes from Anna - "I even had a guest spot on her team for a while" ... Still didn't get it. Brainz. :D

Other than that I've been making some envelopes today. I buy old books at the library (they sell them for 1 krona, about 1/8 of a $). I pick the ones with nice pictures, and then I use them to make envelopes for my letters. Wrote a letter to a pen pal as well. Other than that, I've mainly sorted files.

Now I'm going to remake the layout I've been talking about, and then I'm going to make another LO - new and happier.

Don't know where yesterday went but today has been all (and overlapping) genealogy stuff on Zoom. Now we're going out to dinner and later I can watch recordings of what I missed at the all day thing.

Eva @tanteva , DH plays guitar but one guy in H&S has come up with a project to do with some middle school kids and DH and four others are joining him. The project will be to make cigar box guitars which look to me more like ukuleles (but aren't). First the group has to make ones for themselves before they can help kids do it. So sometime fairly soon he should have that. So nice you found all the "old" scrap stuff & also that you don't have to be down but up about it. As to us welcoming you back, do know you were missed!!

DH making like it's time to go, so waving to all.

Hello my lovlies.

Chris and Eva, I DO love our "family" here at The O. Sometimes when I'm low, I get back up (mentally) after chatting with all of you.

Love and hugs

good evening - It has been a busy two days with having both pets go to the vet. Shadow our kitty had one of her toenails curve so badly we could not trim it so the vet did and now she is on two antibiotics but I can see no sign of any problem on her paw. It is not fun giving a kitty medicine. It is a two person job with my DH and I doing it. Then yesterday is was Luther's turn as he was in need of his yearly vaccines. Due to Covid you now have to arrive and call the office and then they take the dog in and then the Doctor calls and you tell them the problem. Well yesterday was warm and we were in the car for over 30 min and I called them and asked for water. They were so nice and brought Luther water. I did not mind the waiting as I am rereading Exodus. I watched the movie with Paul Newman and wanted to see how different it was. I had read the book when I was in high school and that was years ago. It was a good book. Today was grocery shopping which I hate but it was fast so that was great. Now I am watching hockey. I am watching Trudy's team play the Capitals and it is in OT. This is the 3rd straight game that has gone to OT. This game makes me nervous but as they are not my team but still LOL. As the temp got to 88 today Luther did not go for an afternoon walk but I did and OMgosh I love this weather. One bad thing is the ceiling in one of the boys room has fallen down. It does not seem like an easy fix. Of course my DH thinks he can fix it. We will see.

@faerywings Chris I imagine you are as happy with this weather as I am. I am sure we need rain but I love the sun and heat. Congrats to Cait that is awesome! Love that she got some money! She is one smart woman. Glad you are having fun in the dirt!

@tanteva Eva the app that you and Chris use I should tell my oldest son about. He was a Marine and there are nights he has trouble sleeping. This app sounds so easy to use and has good sound advice. Congrats on finding the kits and old pages. I know what you mean about backing them up. I am still working on it. It is fun to come to Chatter and see how everyone is doing and giving hugs!

@scrap-genie Jean glad you are still having your zoom genealogy meetings. Have fun at dinner. It is nice to be able to get out again.

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl hope your aches are doing better. And hope the weather and temperatures stop being wonky.

Waving to all. Have a great day!

@nancyr Wish I could be there and help you. I'm really good at giving cats medicine. With that said, I hope I never will have to give Discord any medicines, cuz that must be impossible. That cat isn't a cat. He's some sort of species all of his own. LOL

If it's really hard to get the medicine down: wrap the cat with a towel (a "purrito"), lay him/her on their back, like cradling a baby in your arms, open the mouth (easiest by pressing lightly on both sides of the jaw (joint), and drop the pill down the troat and close the mouth shut quickly. They swallow by reflex. With a bit of practice it's really easy. Hubby used to have and help me, but now I can do it myself. Both Mario, Luigi and Yade ate meds. Luigi had kidney failure, and both Yade and Mario had heart problem.

My best tip about cats: get an ordinary cat, not a specific breed. The breeding of some cats are really not good for them. It's been focused on the looks of the cats (for cat shows), so they have all sorts of diseases. At least that's true about Siamese and Oriental cats here in Sweden. Now I have 2 mutts (can cats be mutts, or is that word just for dogs?). No sickness there. *crossing fingers* *knocking wood*
