We are getting closer every day!

And finally- I wake up and it is above freezing. It is going to get up to the mid-40s and be sunny. I was so cold in my bones yesterday and my back was twinging non-stop. It is still not great today but hopefully, it will be ok once I get the kinks out of it. I am grateful for hot showers :)

My day was another one wandering about the house. I started Caitlyn'staxes but I need her to collect more info on her Etsy shop. Scott did his and is very excited that he will be getting a small refund. I am off to get groceries this morning and then I want to work on a challenge this morning. Karen Schulz has another fantastic technique I want to try out.

But first, I need to take the dogs out.
HAGD!!

OK then, Jaida stopped jumping around so I won't take her out just yet. W is still asleep. Let sleeping dogs lie :p

@Kythe That is very exciting that you are seeing some signs of spring! Sorry to hear about the rain and flooding, I hope that you stay dry. Good for you for walking, but smart to bring the nitro with you just in case. And I should not chuckle over your aging comment but that's *exactly* what I thought this morning as I was shuffling around the kitchen with my hand on my aching back-- "Is this what my back going to feel like for the rest of my life???" o_O

@taxed4ever Rain is better than snow but I am keeping fingers crossed that you don't get any flooding/heavy rain too
What is the subject of your painting? As someone who is non-creative, it amazes me how people can get a painting or song or story in their heads like that. (yes, I know --I create when I scrapbook but I start with a photo and challenge, it isn't out of thin air :D )

NOW Jaida wants to go outside. BRB!

Brrrrrr, even if is it (barely) above freezing/comparatively warm to the last few months, it is still freaking *cold* out there.

@LSlycord I dunno - will you have time to get yourself on a schedule?- you have so many wonderful things coming up!
Your paper chain is getting smaller, you are going to have to add more things to it when you get back from Europe. Has Syd made a decision on where she wants to go to school?

@Cherylndesigns BAH humbug to you and all of your 70* and green
JK, you know I am so excited to hear about things starting to grow. I adore that feeling, it is revitalizing! I am LMBO at Daisy with the seeds. If you have any more of them, can you add my thoughts for both the SIL's son and Ukraine when you throw some more out? TIA

@BrightEyes I hope that the snow and sleet pass you by. It is common for us to get hit with another snowstorm in March so I won't even be able to think about seeing anything growing just yet. I will keep my eyes on the forsythia in the backyard. Once it starts to get that green "hazy" look to it I'll know spring weather is close
I love almond flavor so I am going to keep that idea in mind next time I bake

@bcgal00 Great news on finding a mover! That has to be a big item to cross off the to-do list.
I am also really proud of you for not beating yourself up for the weight gain. IMHO- to"get it" and be accepting while knowing that you want to change is such a huge deal. You know you will get back on track and that we will be cheering you on.
That is too funny about the cars being identical! When I was in college, two of my three roommates and I all had Ford Escorts. In the dark, they looked the same. It would be really funny when you would walk to your car in the snow and there were footprints at the driver's door and then off to the next one. I bet you two will end up doing that too hah
I hope that Jen is able to have PT first and have it be a success, the last thing she needs ATM is to worry about surgery,

@tanteva Sending you big hugs, the news is distressing and sad. As much as I *know* that I should limit my reading of it, it is hard to shit it down. Thank goodness I don't watch it on TV. It is hard enough reading, I don't want to have the images videotaped into my brain as well. It has to be scary being "next door."
It has been a really terrible couple of years... I love your page...

Morning, all. WOW... it was 39* when I got up!!! Finally above freezing at night! Looking forward to the warmer temps for awhile.

Chris, I hear you about walking around with a hand on the back because it is aching! The front that is coming in has less humidity and that eases the aches and pains that high humidity brings. Hoping your back is feeling better as it gets warmer there. Nice that Scott is getting a tax refund... I am waiting to find out how much more I will be paying... UGH!

I made the meatloaf for dinner last night... oh, my - it was so yummy! I added a small amount of sage to it and WOW... I will be doing that from now on. I had to scrap off some spills from the peach cobbler on the oven floor before I made the meatloaf. I forgot to put a cookie sheet on a lower rack to catch the spill-overs when I made the cobbler. Once it gets warm enough to leave the doors and windows open, I will run the oven self-cleaning. It usually sets off the smoke alarms so have to have everything open when I do that.

@bcgal00 So glad you found a mover that costs less and have that reserved. Had to LOL over you and Jen having the same model... Maybe you can put a decal on a window so you can tell them apart. So sorry to hear about Jan's torn rotator cuff. Hope is not bad enough to require surgery. Glad you are pacing yourself and taking breaks to ease the back. Maybe the drier climate inland will help with the back pain.

Off to get a shower then will be out doing a few errands. CYL

I've taken a break from watching the news today, and watched Inside Out. It was mentioned in one of my resent meditations, and I got curious. It was a good movie ... however ... I hate Disney & Pixar! This obsession with that someone ALWAYS have to die. What's with that? It's a fricking kid's movie! So ... I'm coming out as a DH (Disney Hater!)

I'm working tomorrow. Will be a hellish day for sure. I don't know if you heard of Vasaloppet? Anyway it's this huge internationl cross country skiing competition.

https://www.vasaloppet.se/en/

And the finish line is in Mora, where I work, and it's a HUGE thing. However - it's messing up everything. It's impossible to go to work with our car, cuz of the parking situation. And ... the bus line we usually take, don't go all the way during this week. The bus only goes to the "beginning" of Mora ... then we have to walk to work. It's not far, like 15 minutes walk, I guess. But ... hate it. AND we'll have to go the same way after work. And the bus don't go until 50 minutes after we've finished work. IF it goes apparently. Urban just messaged me half an hour ago, and the bus was delayed. 30 minutes. It's kinda impressive in it's own way that the bus even can be delayed, when it only has to drive half it's normal stretch. Go figure.

I'm fuming already about working tomorrow. It will be a great day.

Add current world situation to that.

I'll be a darling at work tomorrow. Wonder who I will let off my steam onto??? LOL

Morning ladies... I did not go hiking today, it is rainy and very foggy again. mmph!! I hope to get out for a nice long walk later on in the day when it warms up a bit. I need to stretch my legs and get out of the house for a bit, even if it is raining. Yesterday was spent making a Birthday card for SIL Linda, her birthday is on the the 26th and I am not sure I will get to see her before then, so think I better get it in the mail! I made a cute little spinning butterfly card, it turned out pretty good.
unnamed-1.jpg
The base got a bit warped, so I will have to see if I can fix that today. Need to make the envelope too and then pop it in the mail. Today I hope to get a page done for one of the Challenges and make some cheesy zucchini bread sticks with the zucchini that I have had in the fridge and needs to get used up. So not too much going on for me today, same old same old!!

@faerywings - Hope you get the rest of Cait's taxes done, nice that Scott will be getting a bit of a refund!! Hope your back feels better after you work the kinks out!! Darn damp cold weather, sure plays havoc with the bones and muscles!! /as for my painting project, well I have this great large piece of wood that has been in my craft room forever. I want to paint a Heron on it, but I am procrastinating, I know that once I get going on it, it will be my obsession until it is completed LOL.

@LSlycord - Linda, I am so jealous that you are getting to go on all these amazing trips! I hope that you have so much fun when you go to Europe!! Hopefully everything works out the way it should! Bet the whole family is excited to get going! I know that you will not take too long to get back into the swing of things with your job. Will you have to work while you are travelling? Or have you already let them know that you won't be available during that time??

@bcgal00 - Awww how sweet are you having a special box for me!!! Thank you so very much! I am happy that you have the movers booked! One less thing to worry about! I bet you are all so busy packing away all your treasures! I know that once you are all settled into your new home you will get busy with losing the extra few pounds that have snuck up on you! Me too I would love to lose another 10, but I know that its the total lack of activity that is keeping the scale from budging!

@BrightEyes - Ugh on having to pay more in taxes Kay!! I am afraid that we will have to also. Sometimes it works out that I get a refund but DH has to pay more, so it kind of evens itself out LOL. Your meatloaf sounds so yummy and yes I have to wait to be able to open the windows before I clean my oven also. Our smoke detector is very sensitive and LOUD!!

@Cherylndesigns - How nice to have the milder temps! Such a good idea to sprinkle around the sunflower seeds, sure hope that they take root, it will fancy up the yard for sure! Even nicer that it is the National Flower for the Ukraine! It makes it that much more special!

@tanteva - Loved your layout with John Lennons lovely song! Good to take a break from the News for a bit and I hope that you are in a better place when you go to work!! Remember to be kind to your co-workers they are dealing with all of this too! That dog and cat video was a hoot! Thanks for the laugh!!

Ok I am off to the shower, its time to get the morning chores done and then I can come back here to scrap awhile. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. We loaded up the truck this morning with stuff for the dump and Jen and D will take that while I watch Bella for her. I cleaned out a few kitchen drawers and have a few more boxes of stuff for charity. D and I spent about 2 hrs perusing Wayfair yesterday. We will probably buy a dining room set a week or so before we move, as it seems to be about 2-3 weeks for delivery. We might order the living room couch before moving too. I talked D into getting a double recliner sofa for the LR that he and Jen can sit in. I'll have my little table and kneeling chair in the corner. We have to figure out the rest of furniture buying once we move.

I watched the new Law and Order last night. It has a good cast. I don't like it as much as L&O SVU or Organized Crime though.

@faerywings Have fun scrapping today. I'll have to go see what Karen's challenge is. I was talking to Jen about her car and she checked the manual and found out she has the same extra options that we thought only our car has so once it's set up she'll have exactly the same car as us LOL.

@taxed4ever What a pretty card.

@tanteva Sure hope work tomorrow goes easier than you expect.

@BrightEyes I too am looking forward to much less humid weather when we move. I'm sure that will help my back quite a bit.

Remi is crying in the laundry room as she obviously has rolled her ball into a spot she can't get it out of LOL. That happens a lot. I'd better go check. Then I'm going to get another coffee and toast and then get back to packing soon.

Good afternoon all of my lovey OOOOO"s.

Well, I've been up since 8 but just getting on here. Chuck and I sit together in the living room and drink our coffee and talk about whatever - mainly today the "state of the world, then I found out I had a new CT LO due, so I took care of that, then the girls came in and out. Now I'm waiting on the house cleaner to come. She cleans Adrienne's house first, then ours then sometimes Ava's. Today, she went to Ava's after Adrienne's, so she hasn't been here first.

I will think of all of you when I go out to survey my weed garden - I JUST saw, on TV, that Ukraine's National Flower was the sunflower - I saw that people were actually planting seeds right now. How cool is that? My "weed garden" doesn't sound very glamorous, does it? Actually, it's very lovely and the weeds are quite decorative. I'll have to find some pictures that I took last summer. Braden mows the whole property and I guess Roger got on him about leaving the weeds. He said "Cici wants me to leave them." LOL Roger said "Alrighty then." The weed garden then melds right into the edge of the wooded area that's right behind our house. I DO have a few sunflower seeds left in my bag. I'm sure my ex-SIL has lots more if I need them. Her son loved sunflowers and planted them everywhere he could.

I actually sat in my lounge chair (on the back patio) for over an hour yesterday - there was no wind and it got up to 76. I'm all set to go back out there as soon as Casey (HC) arrives. I played music and just loved it yesterday.

Trudy @taxed4ever your card is just lovely, as all of your cards are.

Chris @faerywings LOL about the dogs going in and out. Adrienne asked me if I wanted Lila today and I was glad when she (Lily) tried to follow her out the door. When Casey comes, it's hard to have both dogs here. One is bad enough -

I'm going to scoot and finished getting ready for Casey. Hugs to all.

Ok...here is my attempt to get myself on schedule. Maybe evening will be my time of day for Chatting. @faerywings Syd is probably 90% certain that she is heading to UF. She has worn the Gator sweatshirt twice since she got admitted on Friday. And she doesn't even have a Knights sweatshirt. LOL The only hard part is that she is passing up $7500 in scholarship each year...that would make UCF pretty much a free ride when you figure her Bright Futures. But, I think she will be happy there and because she has her tuition covered with Bright Futures and will probably only need 2 or 2 1/2 years to get through her bachelors degree, I'm just watching it all play out. Yay for Scott and his refund. Hope that Cait gets the same good news!

@BrightEyes so glad that it is warming up for you. It feels like the season is finally turning for us. Sage in the meatloaf sounds interesting. I love the flavor of sage in my Thanksgiving dressing. I may need to try it out in my meatloaf!

@tanteva I agree...the world situation is wearing on me as well. And I don't think that I would like your situation tomorrow for getting to and from work. That would make me crabby. Good luck!

@taxed4ever I love that beautiful butterfly card. And I am determined to enjoy the time leading up to the trip, even though I'm still worried about it. However, I refuse to have my joy stolen. The planning is half of the joy. And no working while I'm in Europe.

@bcgal00 I'm so excited for you. The new car, the new furniture...things are sure falling into place.

@Cherylndesigns the start to your day sounds very much like ours. Only difference is we drink our coffee on the lanai and discuss the state of the world.

@scrap-genie love the photos of the beautiful flowers. I think that the last hard freeze that we had really killed a LOT of our flowers. Even some of my hibiscus in the ground. A few of them are surprising me by coming back...so I'll give them all a little longer. But I think I'm replacing a lot.

HOWEVER, and this is big, my lemon tree is flowering again. I love the scent of those lemon blossoms.

Now, I'm heading over to get my Cheery-O posts done for March. Oh my...talk about being late!
