Happy Hump Day!
Another quick posting this morning but I *promise* to come back and chat.

Gary and I didn't get home until noon yesterday and the rest of the day was a blur.

Nothing exciting on my agenda today.
Hope that you all do!

good morning! It is cold below freezing this morning and windy gusty! Don't know if I will walk or not. May get lazy. Yesterday I did get in a good afternoon walk and then of course good walks to the arena and back to the car from the game. And my NJ Devils defeated the Penguins 2-0. It was a great game and it was fun seeing my team wearing their red helmets! This Sat my son is going to do a one shot at the goal from center ice to see if he can score. If he puts the puck into the net through this tiny whole then our season tickets are free. He does not play hockey so this will just be a lucky shot. But it will be fun to see him try.

Chris enjoy the calm day! Glad the doctor's visit went well even if it was a long day!

Sharon you trip to Arizona sounds awesome! I love Sedona. Glad the golf was so successful. Congrats to your daughter on getting her new house. It is always such an exciting time.

Trudy bummer that the pool was so crazy. Such a bummer with flooding in basements. And now hives. What a pain. My son said he cleaned his backyard last Sunday and now it has to be done again. I told him that is the joy of home owning. It is constant up keep!

Jean sounds like I am having the same weather as you. I guess that is the joy of transitioning into spring the constant temperature changes.

Have a great day all!

Hi all! I am back just for a few. I need to sit down a bit and catch my breath. Quite literally!

I am trying desperately to do what I gotta do, and I am not gettin' anywhere I need to be goin'

We had a crazy snow squall this morning. It coated the road and cars in less than 20 minutes. The sun is out now, but is still quite cold here. And maybe snow again on Friday? *groooooaaaaaan*

Dr's appt went- about as well as I expected. I am testing positive now for Bartonella. She had treated me for this before based on symptoms, but now the tests are coming up +. And it is official-- I have POTS. Postural something or other than begins with O tachycardia syndrome. I need to monitor my pulse and BP throughout the day and if it is low, I do one thing, if it is high I have to do another. She is also putting me an a different combo of IV/oral abx. since the combo I am on now is making a slight difference but not a enough.
Obviously, not able to go back to work, which is killing me. But I couldn't do it even if I wanted to, I get so lightheaded just walking up stairs. I said to Gary that I bet this was why I was dropping things/knocking things over at work before the holidays.

Poor Gary has been puking his guts up every morning this week and isn't sleeping well either. I am going to try and tidy up the kitchen today b/c the filmmaker is coming tomorrow. I am going to have to enlist the kids to help as much as they can too.
It is kind of "neat" to be part of the documentary although I would have preferred being part of a documentary about people who win the lottery and *don't* turn into assholes :pound:

Have a fab day!

Oh Chris. So hope you and yours can jump some kind of health warp and get freedom from all that is required. I don't know how you do it (I can't even be bothered to take my BP once a week, as my doctor has requested), but I guess we all rise to our personal requirements.

Hair cut for me today. I'm almost afraid to go in after what she did to me last time (had to wear a scarf or hat for 2 weeks until I looked like a girl again).

I'm weary of the Lightroom learning curve, and want to just sit at the computer and make pages the way I did when I used the PSE Organizer. But there's no going back to it, because despite the confidence that I DID back it up before the Virus Fiasco, it is GONE. Couldn't even rescue it from Carbonite. :( Guess that FORCES me to keep on slogging along with Lightroom. It just doesn't seem to be as quick as the Organizer was. Lots of POTENTIAL, but more steps. Maybe I will like it better the more I use it. Or maybe I will give the Bridge another shot as my Organizer. sigh.

DH took his 10-year-old golf clubs to AZ with us this trip, and left them there (in Greg's garage). Today he is playing with his brand new set for the first time. I'm going to see about finding a place to do lap-swimming.

Go gently.

From Tuesday:

Nancy- I bet that the devils look very cool in their green jerseys and pants! Way back when inthe 80's there was a Ranger who had a red beard and my BFF and I always said he looked like a leprechaun.
The weather seemed nice as long as the sun was out- it was 56* when we left the drs office, but the time we got back here it had dropped almost 10* but good for you getting a walk in!
Looks like we might have to do the same with the inspection and pay to have it done up here since we didn't get it done yesterday.

hahaha! Trudy- too funny about kicking your Gary to get him to stop snoring! Hope you got your laps in yesterday.
How did the washing machine/basement work out for Heather? *fingers crossed for good news*

Woo hoo Sharon- 4 wheeling in the desert!!! That sounds amazing! And dancing on the patio too!! Love it!
Thank you so much for the prayers- I think my mom needs them more than I do. She called to check in after my drs appt and gets so upset when it is not good news. It is what it is, we'll get through, but it is harder on her as my mom than it is on me for myself. I guess it is the same how I feel about Gary and the kids- so helpless.
5 loads of laundry! Eep! But totally worth it!

I remember as a kid that my mom would tell me to not wear orange on St Patrick's day. She worked for a very Irish Catholic boss, and we were Catholic too, so maybe that is why. Is that still a "thing?"

Floaters!! I cannot stand them!!!! I have so many that they make me dizzy to paint a white wall or drive when it is cloudy. There has to be a way to get rid of them that doesn't require you pulling your eyes out of your head. LOL

PHYLLIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know that you said that you weren't feeling very chatty b/c not much was going on. But hello? You see what my life has turned into... Wake up/bus stops/complain about health/take a nap/dinner/IV/sleep. Every darn day.
I guess I cannot force you to post, but I hope that you do anyway. Cuz I am cute if for no other reason. :becky:

hugs and love to all!

Morning ladies... Oh so quiet in here so far this morning! It looks like it will be a sunny day here, although the weather guy keeps saying rain for today? What the heck does he know?? Finally plans are all in place for SIl's 60th birthday get together! We are meeting her in Naniamo and going to a very nice restaurant then later on in the day she has to go to the hospital for a CT scan, she has not been feeling very well since Christmas. We think that she has been depressed and lonely but who knows maybe it is something a bit more serious than that. Keeping our fingers crossed that it is not!

Chris - So how did your visit go with your Lyme Dr. Did Gary manage to do alright and not have stomach issues? Hope you get to enjoy your non active day today!

Nancy - How exciting for your son to have the shot at free season tickets!! Keeping my fingers crossed for him!! Hope you get to have a nice walk today and the wind dies down!

Sharon - Welcome back!! What a nice trip you had! I have not been to Sedona, but we are hopeful to make it there in the future! Our dollar has to be much better though as right now it is in the dumpster!! How nice for your daughter to be moving to a new house! We did that every 5 or 6 years while DH was in RCMP and we kind of got the itch to move again once we were settled here for about 5yrs, but this will be our home for a few years yet, until DH is no longer wanting to do all the work around this big house. Then we will be ready to downsize. I will miss my view though and it is one of the main reasons we are staying right where we are!

Jean -I don't wear green or orange for St. Paddy's day as I was raised neither catholic or protestant, our whole family is the far from any kind of religious background, although my one sister turned catholic after her son died. The rest of us are heathens I'm afraid :becky:
Sorry you are having vision troubles, hope the floaters go away. A couple of weeks ago I had an Ocular Migraine, it really freaked me out, but it was gone in about a half an hour! I thought for sure I was losing my eyesight!!! Yikes, but not any pain with it, hopefully it never happens again!!

Ok I have to get my swimsuit on and get to the pool soon, first a bit of breakfast though. Hope you all have an amazing day!!

Yikes we are posting at the same time! Chris yes you are cute and yes Phylis should post here just because of that fact!! :becky: Sorry you are still feeling so light headed!! Hope Gary's stomach settles down and he can get some sleep too!

Sharon - Hope you find a place to do some laps!! I think that once the weather is very warm I will not be at the pool, but hopefully I can still get laps done in the Lake instead! The hardest part of doing the swimming is getting there and getting my butt out of the house, once I am there I can't believe how fast the hour goes by! Sure hope the Lightroom becomes easier for you! Ok gotta go :bolt:

LOL...I think we created a Cyber Traffic Jam!

Trudy, an ocular migraine is THE ONLY KIND OF MIGRAINE to have! A little scary (esp. if you are driving), but totally painfree, and usually gone very quickly. I have had 4 or 5 in my life.

Also, Trudy...do you wear a swim cap? Does it keep your hair dry? Where did you get it? I see that Amazon carries a lot of them. Some are even cute. Some are very retro (hello 1959!), but most are very athletic-looking. I'm sorely tempted by the Nemo one (NOT!).

It is evening already and I realize I never made it to the O earlier. What's with that? Nothing special today but it was so pretty and sunny though chilly. Robins were all over the grass in Lake View this afternoon and we saw a little group of a dozen Turkey Vultures pass by. Other bird things are acting very spring. It feel so good!

Sharon, an ocular migraine sounds terrifying. But if no pain at least there's that. Hope you get the swimming thing going and get a cute cap. We'll want to see it if you do. Sure hope those new golf clubs are the best.

Trudy, sure hope your SIL's health turns out to be OK. I think the Irish thing is rooted in the religions, but is also very political. That's why I try to ignore it all.

Chris, I'm amazed how the three of you posted at once. Talk about great minds and all that. And you're right, Phylis should post just because you're cute! Just wishing you were also not plagued with all the health problems. Hope that snow is gone and no more coming your/our way. The only snow remaining here is in heavily shaded spots and where it was piled way up.

Nancy, good for the Devils winning a shutout. And in their colorful uniforms. How exciting for your DS to even get the chance for the scoring shot. Sounds like enormous fun.

Hope it was a good one and tomorrow too.
