*sigh of relief* I am feeling less cranky and a little more like myself.
Or is that a contradiction in terms?
#clap

either way, I am feeling more settled. I had a rough few days so much mental/physical/emotional/familial/financial chaos hit all at once.

[And I misspelled every darn last word too]

I gave myself yesterday to stay quiet and hope that by the end of the day I would get my head back on. I had a rough start of that when I went grocery shopping. Holy cow, there is a feeling of disassociation doing it online. I spent the exact same amount in person as I do online but the stress over choosing what to put in my cart was so much more when I physically had the item in my hand. I know that using a credit/debit card always makes money feel less real to me but I didn't think it would extend to the actual shopping.

Caitlyn applied for a job on campus yesterday so I am asking everyone for some good vibes for her. It would be as a coordinator for the Women's Center and LGBTQ Services at the college. It would be a really amazing fit for her. She did many of her (hypothetical) project proposals in her Grant Writing class and Policy class on those topics. She has lots of ideas about how she wants to implement changes so if she gets an interview I am sure they will be interested in hearing her out.

I am off to clean this afternoon and I have to find a restaurant where my parents will be able to eat for my b-day lunch with them tomorrow. How in the world am I going to accommodate their dietary restrictions? The good news is I am not dealing with Cait and Tom in that calculation hahaha!!

HAGD!!

@LSlycord I know, I want the clock to stop for a bit too. Tell your mockingbird to keep on singing!
To Kill is a favorite book of mine too. Sissy Spacek narrates the audiobook and she is incredible.

@BrightEyes our two very distant towns have had very similar weather patterns. It has been very chilly at night here too, 58* when I woke up. I am happy to hear that you are feeling better

@bcgal00 was your skin all pruney after being in the pool and hot tub all day? I hope so because I am absolutely jealous over that way to spend a day LOL!!!
Hope the dogs had fun playing at the park in the rain

@tanteva fresh cut grass also smells really good, at least once I am done sneezing. I *really* hope you went out and danced in the rain like Gene!

@taxed4ever Congrats on the Standing O!
OMG!! I am fuming that Heather's job was a scam. She must have been so upset but yes, thank goodness she didn't send them money OMG-- still so upset and angry for her. Can she file a complaint, do you have a Better Business Bureau-type agency in CA?
I know that you are going to do everything you can to help her and the boys-- you are a great mom!
Hunter is NOT going to 5. *sticks fingers in ears lalalalala*

@Cherylndesigns you are lucky that Chuck does the shopping-- I can't trust Gary to stay within a budget!! haha!!!
You are another scrapping machine-- so many of you are. Meanwhile, if I do 8 LOs in one month that is huge for me.

Time to get dressed for the day.

Hugs!

We have this saying in Sweden, when it's wise to just shut up & don't go there, that translates to:
"Silent my mouth, and I will give you sugar".

A quick good morning everyone, its going to be an early start for our hike today! One of my most favourite ones too! I will take lots of photos as the water is running hard in the Cowichan River and it should be beautiful! A good day to hike as the temps are mild and the sky is blue with some cloud. It will be good to be outside getting the fresh air and exercise! Gotta get my lunch made and then off I go! I hope you have a lovely day everyone!

@faerywings - Thanks for the thoughts for my Heather! It really did make her angry and yes she was going to report it to the people who are helping her with trying to find employment, they will report to the BBB and other places.

@tanteva - Thanks for the candy LOL!! Just as long as it is not black Liquorice!!! Yuck!

@Cherylndesigns - Thanks so much for the PM and your help!! I will be talking with Heather later on today.

Ok I gotta get going or I will be late! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies. I had fun at the dog park yesterday. We got rain for about 5 minutes (before I even left the house so I didn't see it, |Jen did LOL). I brought a folding ball launcher and a new ball that bounces more than the tennis ball I usually bring. Remi loved it, I was able to throw the ball twice as far so she could really run fast and far. Met a woman who moved from Vancouver in Oct and she said her family is loving it here in Kamloops too. So far I've not met anyone who doesn't love it here. Every day I am thankful for our choice to move here.

Today I am going for a haircut, then will do house chores, scrap a bit and work on photos. I am almost finished my book (Project Hail Mary) but it is really technical about what they do on the spaceship so I am skimming a bit, that is getting boring to me, but I do want to see how it all ends. I feel like it could have been a shorter story, it is dragged out a bit too much for my liking.

@faerywings Glad your mood is better. Good luck with the restaurant search. With us it is easier b/c Jen and I eat the same again and D will eat just about anything. Good luck to C on her job interview. Fingers crossed and positive vibes sent.

@taxed4ever Enjoy the cooler weather for your hike. Should be nice.

I'm hopping in the shower. I head out for my hair trim in a bit.

Morning everyone. Woke up at 4AM but managed to fall back asleep until 7 thank goodness. It was a cool 62* then but shot up to 75* before 9... so it will be a much hotter day than we have been having. No rain... just lovely blue skies with a few clouds. I need to do a grocery run and a few other errands today. Hope to get that done this morning - so a quick in and out. When I looked in my download files, I realized I have stuff in there from the last 3 days that needed to be moved and unzipped. Had several 2022 - 52 Inspiration files in there. I finished up a LO I started last evening and got 1 more done this morning.

Yes, June is winding down to the last 2 days. Time to move on into July. Just realized that this is July 4th long weekend. Several cities here in NM have banned the sale and private use of fireworks due to the still very high fire danger. Even with the rains, the state is still in a severe drought condition. They have a few places/parks that are set aside on July 4th for those who have fireworks they want to use. Others who use them outside of those areas can be fined $$$.

Will try to do personals later on today. CYL

I'm working Thursday & Friday, full days. Not sure how I will survive without scrapping for so long. LOL

Then I'm working half day on Monday & after that I will have to endure 3 weeks off with my husband. How will I cope!?! :p

We have no plans for summer besides 1 trip to IKEA.

Good afternoon.

I cannot believe it's June 29th!

Eva @tanteva thanks for the candy! Hahaha I like that saying!

Chris @faerywings glad you're feeling better today and good luck to Cait. Yes, I'm lucky that Chuck likes to shop - he's off today somewhere. He always says he's going to "the store" and I have to ask him "which store he's going to". He's going to Lowe's Hahaha. He even says "the store: when he's going to Walgreen's. When we first got married, I would go grocery shopping, then HE would go and I finally said there was no need for BOTH of us to go and I didn't like it and he did. That's how it started.

Adrienne finally got home - they had "airline fun" - lots of delays and then NO flights - she says she won't fly for a long time. I reminded her that she said that last time. Hahaha

I'm not even going to tell you how many layouts I've done this month. In my defense, I'm a fairly fast scrapper. I still have a few "in holding" that haven't been released yet.

Speaking of scrapping, I'd better see if I need to do anything before the month ends.

Trudy @taxed4ever I'll look forward to a PM from you, later on. Enjoy your hike.

Hugs to all.

I am so glad to be back home... the temp is now 90*F!!! Quite a turn around from a couple of days ago. I decided to do a quick stop at Lowe's (lumber/hardware) to see if they had any new plants that might work in the front yard pots. Was a waste of time... most of their perennials were looking shabby and in worse condition that last week. Even with a wide brimmed hat on it was too hot to spend much time looking. Decided I should wait until fall to see if any of the nurseries will have something for there. Stopped at the grocery store and got a real buy on peaches, nectarines, grapes, apples and some fresh salad bowls. The big shock was when I went to buy 18-count eggs carton... they didn't have ANY... nada, nope... none... even though they had them on sale. Was happy to get home and out of the heat.

@faerywings - sorry you have been having such a rough week. Hope things improve with the start of the new month. I had to :D over your misspelling of words in a post.... I do the same thing so have to re-read my posts and correct errors... and still end up missing words or misspelling some.

@Cherylndesigns - I prefer to go to the store so I can pick out my own stuff - especially fresh fruits and veggies. In later years, DH would go with me and we enjoyed the give and take of what types of 'snacks/candy/chips we would buy each time. Guess it is a good thing that your DH likes to do the grocery shopping since you don't enjoy it.

@bcgal00 Hope you enjoy your hair cut... I got mine cut last week and so happy to have it back to the pixie 'wash-n-wear' style again. It always gives me a lift to my spirits once it is done. I know what you mean about a book sometimes seems to drag so skim some to get past the boring parts. Sorry that book was like that. Good wishes on getting a bit of scrapping done, too.

@tanteva You had me "Rolling on the Floor Laughing Out" with that saying and loved the meme...

Need to go put my leg up and give it some rest.

Kay @BrightEyes it's supposed to be in the 90's again tomorrow. UGH. Chuck went to Lowe's today and he paid $10 EACH for 3 tomato cages!!! I told him we could have built teepees out of sticks!! He was not happy about the price and he said they had literally nothing (flower wise) at our store either. I'm like you - am going to either try to plant some stuff this fall, or start things from seed next spring. He got me 4 English Ivy plants to put on the trellis and they're very small but beautiful. I guess I'll start the ivy this year, then plant seeds or buy Clematis early next spring. I've ordered several seed packs and a couple of live plants from Amazon and they were apparently out of them. Said they couldn't be delivered and refunded my money. So, I'm done for this summer. Our growing season is so great that if I plant seeds, I can wait to put them outdoors. Those green bean seeds I planted are going crazy already. I had NO idea how difficult it was going to be to get seeds and the plants I wanted this year. We saw Clematis but it was $60 and I said no way. That was back in May and now it's all gone.

That's SO nice that you and your DH enjoyed shopping together! I'm envious!!
