Oh my goodness, we have another really cold morning. Gary closed a couple of windows before he came to bed but missed a few. I feel like I am in a refrigerator.

C'mon summer weather, will ya get here already? Pretty please!!!

I had a really busy day yesterday and I survived it all too. The supermarket stinks like always. You can't find a darn thing. I end up going through the store twice just to see if I can find the things that I missed the first time around. But the amazing news is that the pharmacy is back inside the main store. For the last 5 months, it has been in an empty storefront a few stores past the entrance to the supermarket. Now I have one less place to go to. I ran some errands after I got everything unpacked, including the library where I picked up the next book in the Cassandra Clare Series that I am reading.

Gary and I took W and J for a walk, and I am so impressed at how well W does with the halter. She doesn't pull at all. There is a small-ish white dog that is out loose on our street very often and he came up to the girls. He has a collar but no tags and looks "grimy" and is definitely not fixed. He seems friendly but I don't want him too close to my girls, who knows what parasites he may have picked up. We have posted his photo on a local lost pets website but no one has responded.
After all of that, I started to scrap a page for a Challenge here and ugh, I am not feeling it.

I am cleaning today and then have to pay bills. Maybe after I get all of that taken care of, I can work on the LO again and see if it looks any better.

wishing everyone a fab day!

Trudy- did the sun ever come out yesterday? I was outside for a little while yesterday and the sun was great, but inside my house, it doesn't seem to get warm at all. Are the roses new ones? I know that you lost a lot of some flower/bush recently but darned if I can remember what ones it was. My neighbor has 4 clusters of peonies- deep fuschia and light pink and they are incredible. I don't think I get enough sun on my property for them.

I don't know what I would do without Amazon/online shopping. I needed a strapless bra for the new top that I got for the party. It is hard to find ones that come in "flat-chested-size" so I was thrilled that Cait hooked me up with a website that she shops at. $12.99 and free shipping. Now I just have to hope that it gets here in time-- it is being from Canada and has to clear customs. I wonder if there will be any issues now that DT has declared "war" on Canada. :noidea: :p
(My apologies to you and your country from his asshattery)
I have heard about Kite Runner- I can't remember if I have it on my To-Read shelf at GoodReads or not. LMK what you think.

Jean- I am glad that you are enjoying this weather. Gary is too and Scott, especially when he is working and volunteering outdoors just about every day.
/interrupts myself-- he was volunteering at the Ecology center yesterday and they are dropping big hints that he has to apply for the scholarship for it next year. It is open to one Environmental Sci Major at his school and now that he is already volunteering there and is doing good work, he has a foot in the door. It could mean a huge reduction in tuition for him if he gets it on top of the experience/resume building, yay!! /end interruption
ITA with you and T-- Rae, please go to the eye dr when you can. Don't be like my mom. :(
One of my friends watched that genealogy show years ago if it is the same one that I am thinking of. I think it was about Lisa Kudlow. It this the same show or a reboot?

Felis- that is something that I really love- sleeping with the windows open and hearing the night sounds, it is so soothing. I understand that feeling of irritating and dreamy moods. I think that is why I don't let my mind have too much free time- I get myself overwhelmed. But at the same time, keeping my mind always busy means that I am not facing thoughts/feeling that I need to be. I need to find a good middle ground.
Hugs to your babies!
My new eye dr seemed so excited to show y the pictures of my optic nerve and the results of the glaucoma test. She was practically bouncing in joy. I hate eye dr appts but this one made me smile, I hope that you can find someone like her.

Floyd eats a renal support diet. The vet wants him primarily eating canned food for the fluids but he supplements that with the renal diet dry. I asked for a variety of flavors and brands yesterday and I will have to see if there is one that he prefers over the others.

xoxoxo!!

Morning ladies.. A very sad morning for our family this morning as my Gary's Auntie Marion passed away this morning. As it so often happens, the family had gathered to say farewell and then she seemed to improve, so the kids left to go back home yesterday, its like she was waiting to see them all, then she left. I am also not feeling too well today, seem to have picked up a bit of stomach bug, so no hike for me today (no washrooms on the hike) LOL. I am not sure what to do about calling my MIL, she does not do well with this sort of thing and tends to bury her head in the sand and not deal with things. (if you don't talk about it, it never really happened kind of person)

Chris - Sorry to hear that the cold temps are still with you! Hope that it warms up in the next day or so, it is supposed to get warmer here by Friday. Ugh on your Supermarket still not being good to get around in. I hate that! Grocery shopping is bad enough without the added inconvenience of not being able to find what you want! My roses are the same ones that I have always had, but we moved them to the opposite side of the yard last year and they did not do too well that first summer, but now they are beautiful! I did lose some plants last year a couple of my clematis and a few hostas. Hope to replace the hosta soon, if I ever get to the nursery LOL. My peonies were lovely this spring, but already finished blooming. I have one that was supposed to be a deep Fuchsia colour but blooms white instead, needless to say I was very disappointed, it is still beautiful but the colour is underwhelming! It must have had the wrong label on it when I bought it  Yes DT has pissed off a lot of people over this rampage he has with our Country, now cuddling up to the murdering dictator of North Korea well don't get me started :tape: You can bet that all he is doing is lining his own pockets!! Ok shut me up :banplease: No need for you to apologize I know you didn't vote for him LOL. Glad that Scott is doing so well with his volunteering, I will keep my fingers crossed for him to get that Scholarship!

Ok I am going to hit the shower and then come back and catch up with everyone, nothing happening here for me today so should be able to get my page finished that I started yesterday. Back in a flash :bolt:

Leaving soon for the monthly genealogy group at the senior center. Always a good time but two of my regulars can't make it this month. Hope to pick up some new puzzles while there too.

Chris, what a nice story about Scott! Sure hope that scholarship comes through but even getting encouraged for it is good news. I know what you mean about a store moving stuff around, but if they're done for now, you'll get used to this arrangement.

Trudy, so sorry you're not feeling well. Hope it is brief. Sympathy to your MG and you about his Aunt Marion. And I join Chris in apologizing for not only DT but also his minions in maligning your country and JT. How we wish sanity would come back.

Felis, my good news is I've finished weeks 21-23, just need DH to proof read 21 and I can post them. But unlike you I haven't begun to think about the monthly challenges. Hope your weather is not so hot but your nights sound nice.

Nancy, Rae :hello:

In this sad for Trudy day I'll keep my post short. The day was hot again, but now we have lovely thunderstorm, my pets aren't scared so we can enjoy it! :rain:  Only regular errands today. So I was able to scrape one page for Courtney's store closing. I have few her kits that I wanted to use but never did, this will be lesson for me to not wait.

Oh, no Trudy, this is soo sad! So sorry for your loss! It's really heartbreaking, so I don't wanna my next words to sounds cruel, but I'm kind of relieved that she shouldn't to spend month or more in hospital. Is Gary able to go to the funeral?!
Bad that you're sick, get well soon! I was wondering about Wendy's husband too, how is she and do he become more kind?

Chris, oh poor little white dog! Is he lose his way back home or just they are left him alone?! Hope someone to get it! I hope you are get back your scraping mojo! As the other girls I too want to see all these photos you mentioned! Fingers crossed for Scott's scholarship!

Jean, always a pleasure to see your pages about the puzzles! I'm so proud of you for finished these weekly pages! Maybe this will gives me push up I to start too. I guess at the summer with these vacations planned is usual someone to skip the genealogy group, but hope this does not affect them!

:cof1: PS. I forgot to tell Chris that my favorite part is at City of Glass (I think) when Alec can kiss Jace ;), no more spoilers, but will see it's so cool moment!

Good morning, ladies. It's cold and raining here today. I am wearing a fleecy hoodie indoors to keep warm. Today is food prep day for me. Taz is off to daycare and I'm staying home from the hospital today. B is getting another pulse IV treatment today so will be overly sedated and sleepy for most of the day.

I'll be whipping up some of my coconut milk creamer today, roasting root veggies, making spaghetti sauce and blending up avocado and lemon to freeze in ice cube trays. I've got a bunch of bananas too to freeze but may keep a few out to bake up some more muffins later today. I want to make a paleo fudge recipe today too. Paleo chocolate bars are expensive (the Lily brand is $500 for a small bar) so I want to make a variety of fudge squares to freeze and snack on.

Chris - I love shopping on Amazon too although we don't have nearly the selection available to us that you do. Amazon Canada sucks compared to the US one, but its better than nothing.

Trudy - hope you feel better quickly. Sorry to hear of G's aunt passing away.

I've got to get back to work and then do my food prep this afternoon, so off I go.

Have a great day, everyone.

Jean - have fun at your meeting.

Felis - hopefully the storm has cooled things off a bit for you today. For us, its the opposite, it is too cold here and can't wait for warmer weather next week.

I'm back and slowly feeling a bit better, it is very cool here today so have a big sweater on to keep warm. I tried to call MIL but no answer. :mmph: SIL called me and said that her Mother did not seem too upset by the news of her sister passing. Like I said before my MIL does not handle bad news like anyone else that I know. When her daughter called her to tell her that her sister had passed all she kept saying was "I can't hear you!!" Really?? she does not have a hearing problem. :loco: Not sure what will happen with the funeral arrangements they live pretty far away and most likely we will have something here or in Vancouver for a memorial service. Guess time will tell.

Jean - I hope you have a great time at your meeting, so nice that you enjoy it so much! You will have to tell us about the puzzles that you will hopefully pick up today! I was watching those "who do you think you are" series and loved them! I will have to check out Netflix or Kodi and see if there are some new ones out there. I thought you might like to read this article that was broadcast on our news last night. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/briti...r-this-canadian-father-and-daughter-1.4700421 Amazing that these two found each other, but the DNA was such a powerful tool!! Love this story!

Felis - Sure hope that the nice thunderstorm brings you some relief from the heat! Not really sure what the arrangements will be for Auntie Marion, the rest of her family that have passed are all buried/cremated here on the Island so perhaps she will be too? We will find out soon I guess. Thank you for your kind words and yes I agree, it was better that she did not linger on and went quickly!

Rae - A busy day for you, but every day is that way for you isn't it! Glad that you will have some time to yourself today and I bet Taz is happy to be with his friends at doggie day care! Do you eat bananas now? I am so not ready to go there with fruit, so afraid that there is too much sugar. But perhaps you have them for your DH and B? Anyway I hope that the food prep goes well and that B's IV treatment goes smoothly and she is feeling better after it!

Off to try to finish my scrap page now, not sure it will happen as I am still feeling kinda yucky and might just go watch a movie or start the book that Jackie gave to me. :noidea: Have a lovely afternoon everyone!
