Happy Independence Day to my American friends. As you probably know, I am not very proud of what is happening in my country right now. But I still have faith that the majority of us are good people and will fight to make us a strong, inclusive, compassionate nation again.

That said- I don't know how much any of you have seen on Twitter, but there is a hashtag of #SecondCivilWarLetters that is hysterical. So, a conspiracy theorist said that the Democrats were going to start a Civil War on July 4th which then led to the creation of these "letters from the battlefront." Can't stop reading them, they are so darn funny and encapsulate how Dems tend to see themselves. Lots of snark in there too.

Yesterday was mostly successful in spite of more financial stress. we had the second tree service give us an estimate that is slightly lower than the first. $2,800. :faint: The "good news" is that technically the tree belongs to our neighbors on the "other side." Not the ones that we are good friends with. Gary is going to have to track him down and ask for him to pay. Not sure how that is going to go over... but god knows, we don't have $2500.
ShopRite seems to be getting better at having things in their permanent aisles, maybe 80% done? It is still confusing as all hell, but at least they aren't moving things as I am shopping.

And more good news to share-- my LO for Trudy's Journaling Challenge got a GSO Finger Pointing! Thank you, T, for your inspiration!!

Wishing everyone a wonderful, happy day!

Nancy- it seems a bit better today than the last couple of days. I am going to do some work outside, talk to my toad-friends. :D
That BA Dinner sounds delish! Perfect for the hot weather.
I am going to have to add those books to my To Read list. I could always use some light-hearted books in my rotation.

Trudy- I read the journaling on your LO about the grands and it made me so sad for you. But the good thing is that you will see them again and will get to share all of those amazing stories with us!
Bet the deck looks great and it is kind of fun to switch things up a bit. So exciting to be in the beauty prep stage of pre-travel-- it is getting close!!! :plane:

Felis- happy madness is good!!! It is very important to have those moments and taking a break from reality on occasion is also something necessary. Keep on enjoying the sun and the fur-babies!

Morning everyone! I am up early, but then I fell asleep on the couch at around 8:30 LOL. DH was snoring beside me as the TV was on in the background, what a couple of live wires we are :becky: 11pm we dragged our butts to bed and both fell right back to sleep, so needless to say when DH's alarm went off we had both had plenty of rest. It is going to be a lovely day! Lots of sunshine and blue sky. I will not be hiking today, it is going to be very warm and the hike is at a very difficult spot to get to. I am unable to catch a ride with anyone from my area and I refuse to take my CRV up that horrible road, if I did I would need a wheel alignment afterward for sure. Anyway I have lots to get done around here and I think that I will do a pool day today instead of hiking. I need to get rid of a bunch of photos on my phone and see what plan I need to upgrade to for our trip. I hope to finally finish my page I started two days ago and get another one done for the monthly challenges. I have lots of ideas, just need the time to put them together.

Chris - Happy 4th of July to you! Even if you are not very proud of your country right now, it's still a much better place to live than some are in! Hopefully the maniacs in power right now will come to their senses or get voted out of there next term! Congrats on the GSO!! See your mojo is returning! It really is an awesome page my friend! Journaling isn't so bad is it! Yes my trip is getting closer and I am getting more excited. It sounds like it will be a warm week when we get there. No air conditioning in the Air B&B that we are in, but most don't have air so we won't be alone. I hope that it cools off in the night so we can sleep. Yikes on the cost of the tree!!! But hooray that it belongs to the neighbour, hope you can convince them to cough up the $$ Glad that the shopping went well for you too, hopefully they will finally be done moving everything around soon! Are your temps still ridiculously high where you are?

Felis - How nice that you are in such a great mood and wonderful to hear that your Mother is also enjoying some stress free time! Am I to understand that you will be moving to another place? Or am I mis-reading something in the translation? Anyway I hope that your good moods continue and you enjoy a beautiful week!

I am going to hit the gallery now and leave some love, something that I have been very neglectful at doing for the past month or so. One more cup of coffee to have while I do so and then a day of getting little jobs done. Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

good morning - Happy 4th of July - it was 76F and 90% humidity on our walk with Luther this am. Saw a great blue heron so that was nice. Met lots of people and dogs. Decided to have breakfast for dinner last night and made French toast. It was yummy. And a fun change. We had two sets of really strong thunderstorms. We made the local news as a huge bolt of lighting tore the bark off a tree on a street in our town. Too bad not at night so you could see the lightning bolts. The storm cut power to the train signals so my DH had an extra long commute home. One train was cancelled and the other was delayed. Came home and crashed after eating ice cream. Today not much agenda today.

Chris the sun is behind clouds so at least when you are out maybe you so hot! Enjoy the time out. Are going to fire works? We are not sure. Depends on weather. It amazes me how much tree removal costs! But perhaps if you mention to your neighbor how much more it will cost if the tree comes down on your place he will decide to remove it. About time the store is finally finishing up its redo! Glad you are getting the hang of it. Congrats on the GSO.

Trudy glad you are getting so prepared! I am glad that Heather and the boys have AC. It sure makes naps and sleeping so much easier. Must make you so happy that Mason has so many friends that want to play!

Felis Yea the mood is happy! Glad that everyone is enjoy the time off. It does make life easier when there is less stress. Enjoy. I am sorry your player is out in the tennis match.

Wave to everyone!

Have a great day!

Good morning, ladies. I dropped Taz off at daycare and am busy doing laundry and CT work this morning, while working. It'll be a busy day of me trying to get everything done before heading up to the hospital this afternoon.

I'll come back later to read personals. Have a great day, everyone.

The 4th of July is nearly over and we're watching fireworks on TV and hearing them all around the neighborhood. It got pretty warm again today and we were happy to find a place open for dinner where we could be cool and watch baseball on TV. I did some scrapping today and hope to do more. Yesterday it cooled off with thunderstorms and we got more comfortable but the weekend and Monday were hot. I'm giving a talk on the 14th and need to work on that too. Looking forward to it not being so hot soon.

Chris, it has been so good to see you more positive. Your poster for the march was great and so was your journaling LO. Looking forward to more scrapping from you. I know it was really hot if it was too hot for you to work outside.

Trudy, hope you got in a good swim today instead of worrying about your vehicle on iffy roads. Your excitement for the Paris trip will keep you up. And I bet whatever heat your find there will be OK.

Nancy, what a lot of good sports you have to watch now and hockey stuff still going on. Your hockey pages are so cool. Hope Luther likes the basement as he must have spent a lot of time down there lately. Nice to have a great blue when walking him.

Rae, glad you had a good weekend and hope you are not having too much workload. Hugs for B.

Felis, what a lovely weekend you described! Hope you don't give yourself a hard time about what you have or haven't accomplished this year. Think of everything that you did or do that is good. Each furbaby you care for is a good thing. Think of all the smiles you gave us with the hedgehog photos and story.
