eep:
Yup, I am still hiding. I am so not in a good headspace. I had a relatively "peaceful 2.5 hours when I was outside talking to my worm, bee, and butterfly friends (while expressing aggravation at the little biting bug friends).
So let me back up to give a quick rundown. My dad called before I went to ShopRite. At that precise moment in time, she was not getting discharged, the nephrologist wanted to place stents in the arteries leading to her kidneys. She was going to be taken to an isolation room to be tested to COVID and then the procedure would be done afterward, he assumed that it would be today. I spoke to him briefly around noon, and basically, everything was going forward.
In the meantime, I had to call an Identity service as I had gotten a notification that someone was using my name and email address. So far, there was no additional compromise but I had to start changing lots of passwords. While my computer is still locking up. This was after I realized that the shopping order was missing a bag of my milk and half and half. Gary was able to run back out and get it for me. /fun
Intermission: weeding and rebalancing my brain
Caitlyn and I were cooking dinner when I get a call from my parent's home number and imagine how confused I was when it was my mom. She was home.
What an ordeal she had been through and pretty much was at the end of her rope. Very long story short, the COVID testing required her to be in a small isolation room for 4-5 hours while they waited for the test results. My mom is extremely claustrophobic and couldn't mentally cope with this as a result of some pretty horrific and stressful stories she shared. The nurses treated her pretty neglectfully and I hope that she files a complaint at some point.
The bottom line ATM is that since she couldn't do the COVID test, there was no reason to keep her in the hospital. She is going to have the catheterization/stents done in a surgical center on Thursday and because she was mostly isolated at home, they are ok to do the procedure covering her in sterile cloth. (Not sure how any of this works but that is what she said to me). She was happy to be home and be able to take a shower and wash her hair. But wow, she is traumatized by the care she got and that fact that she was dealing with this all alone makes my heart hurt.
She is going to call me today to check in. I hope that being home makes her feel better. Gary and I are going to start stripping down my computer at some point this morning. I might be offline for a bit but I should have access to the old laptop.
it might be good for all of you for me to be MIA- who needs to listen to my :blah: every day? heheh!!!
xoxoxo!!
