me! Sitting in my little office area with the window closed and just downed 2 mugs of coffee, yup, that will do it. it isn't toooo bad ATM, but it is only 7 am. Is everyone doing their best to stay cool and hydrated? I limited my yard work time to only 1 hour yesterday. I could have stayed out longer but figured it was healthier for me to cut it short. It is going to be a great weather day to be at my cousin's pool.

Everything was pretty quiet here yesterday. Cait and I were texting some dates for the engagement party and my dad is going to check for availability. I scrapped a page and I finished off maybe another *20* puzzle pieces-- I might be able to move the competed date up a few days - maybe closer to mid-October instead of the end of October LOL

I am picking up my groceries this morning and then down to my cousins this afternoon. Hope you all have a fun and happy day!

@taxed4ever The foot-tapping smilie was one of my favorites too and I can see why you want him around now. The countdown is in single digits! I hope you get to swim in the lake one day soon. Does DS have a pool? I think he does? I am sure that you will have a blast floating around with the grands. Floating--hmmm, probably not-- splashing would be more likely!

@BrightEyes yes, be very careful copying those kits. I would be upset if I deleted any of my favorites accidentally. especially if it was because I wasn't paying attention- that is my specialty
I can imagine you and Bill dancing together, that must make you happy to remember those times

@bcgal00 Congrats on booking the cruise!!! It sounds like everything fell into place! So excited for you! The bear and whale sighting excursion would be my first choice. yay!!!

One of the cats had moved one of the boxes on the floor in the pantry during the night!!! Both cats are still alive though.

Bit grumpy today. We had planned a short road trip with picnic today. But ... woke up in the middle of the night cuz my knee was hurting. Since we planned some forest walking to get some nice photos, we've stayed home. Hate getting old! And extra grumpy cuz this was the only trip planned this summer (except going to IKEA). Hate this crappy summer too!

Monday we're back at work, and it feels like the summer is over.

Oh, my... this is so different from 'my computer'!! I am on DH's computer and it is all so different from mine. Guess you all read about the fiasco with my computer yesterday afternoon.... I am afraid to turn it on until the Tech gets here on Friday and let him take a look at it. Hoping that it will be okay so I can get the scrapping files transferred to the HD. I need to do a bit of clean up on DH's computer as there are several printers listed that I no longer have.... and several other things that he used that I won't. So it will be a waiting game until Friday.

Think I need to take a day or two off and try to relax. It has been a very stressful couple of weeks.

Morning everyone! I am a bit grouchy this morning, I had the worst sleep last night! Tossed and turned most of the night, not sure why? I have been sleeping very well lately. Oh well, maybe tonight will be better! It is a lovely sunny morning and I have all the windows open and the the new screen door going onto the upper deck. It was stuffy and warm in the house this morning. No hike for me today as I am getting my hair done and wouldn't be back from the hike in time to make my appointment. I did have a pretty productive day yesterday as I got my craft room all nicely organized and clean and then spent most of the afternoon, making egg muffins, keto cinnamon streusel egg muffins and zucchini cheesy bread. The house smelled amazing, but the kitchen was pretty warm by the time I was done. Then got dinner made using the instant pot and had Pork tenderloin with mushrooms and gravy, yummy!! Today I really need to try to get some scrapping done, so hopefully can at least get a page started before Heather and the boys call this morning.

@faerywings - Enjoy your afternoon at your cousins pool! Sounds like your humidity is through the roof again! I don't know how you can stand that! I am not looking forward to the humid weather when we go to our Son's place in Ottawa! Yes he does have a very nice pool for us all to have fun it. That will certainly help! Last year Mason was afraid to put his head under the water and so was a very cautious swimmer. This year after his swimming lessons he has turned into a fish and is diving under and swimming like a pro, its so nice to see! Hunter has never had any fear of the water which was kind of scary sometimes, he is a little dare devil! Isaac and Sadie are both great swimmers and swim competitively, they love the water just like their grandma, it should be a fun time in the pool this year!

@tanteva - Whew glad you did not murder the cats!! Sorry that your planned trip was cancelled, that sucks! We are now just starting to get nice summer weather, so yes it seems like a very short season for us also. Hope your mood improves soon, seems we are both grumps today LOL.

@BrightEyes - Ohh those dam updates!!! I would have been cursing like a lumberjack!! I sure hope you can get it all fixed up soon and yes perhaps stepping away for a day or two would be a good idea!! You don't need to spike your blood pressure over all of this moving of your files!

@bcgal00 - WOOO HOOOO!!! I am so happy for you to be going on that Cruise!! Sounds like everything has fallen into place nicely and you won't even have to wait all that long to be on your way! I know that you will all have a wonderful time! For now you get to enjoy your pool and hot tub and hopefully get the dogs out for walks when the heat isn't so bad. Doing a Happy Dance for you all !!

Good morning ladies. Got out early to fill up the bird bath, with the high heat now, the birds are spending a lot of time in the trees/bushes and jumping in and out of the bath. I love the hot dry weather here but I feel bad for the dogs that we can't go out to the dog park much now b/c it is just too hot. Jen tried to take them a few days ago and the two doodles just stood with her, not playing and my aussie chased the ball (she will run until she passes out) but Jen only let her run for five minutes. As the river goes down we will be able to get the dogs down to the water but the river is still very high (much more so than usual they say) so its not safe yet.

Jen and I had fun shopping yesterday afternoon. We went to value village and got exactly what we wanted. We each bought a skirt and dress, I got stretchy dress pants and tights, and a few bathing suits and coverup. I found a great tote for carrying things around the ship and then a large shoulder purse for carrying the cameras when out on excursions. I need to buy a comfy pair of flats/low heel. It figures, I just donated my last two pairs of dress shoes a few wks ago, thinking I'll never wear them. Oh well, they were 3-4 yrs old so it'll be fun to buy some new ones.

I'm going full keto now for 3 wks until we leave for the trip. The plan is to lose enough that my clothes are loose and then I can get thru the cruise as I gain a few lbs back. I remember the last cruise we went on and by the last few days it was uncomfortable squeezing into pants that were way too tight. This time I plan to indulge but am going to try smaller portions and cut out the starch a good portion of the time.

I am staying home today and puttering. It'll be a quiet day.

@faerywings Enjoy visiting your cousin (pool time, right?).

@taxed4ever Glad I was able to lift your mood It sure has us excited. We checked dates and it has been 7 yrs since we went to Alaska (and I lost almost all my photos|). Bet it feels good to have your craft room organized. Your strudel muffin has me thinking about how to put a recipe together for my egg muffin maker.

@BrightEyes Fingers crossed about your computer problem. Hope its an easy repair and you can carry on with your file transfers.

Remi is whining at me to go out so gotta go....

Still not in a great head space, but I think it's a little better. Steph is supposed to get a rental car today so I'm waiting to hear from her. I just can't shut that out of my head. I even had trouble falling asleep last night - which I haven't had since I started drinking my tea.

Chris @faerywings try to stay cool. Do you like iced coffee? I love it - especially when it's hot.

I really don't feel like it, but Ava just called and wants me to go with her and Adrienne to the nail salon at 3. I need a pedi and they're getting manicures - well, they both have acrylics. I'm going to force myself to go and try to relax. I've been pretty unproductive (for me) scrap wise. This will pass. It's only the 20th - I have plenty of time to crank stuff out. Fortunately, I had lots of stuff "in holding" that I did before, so I've been able to pull some of that out.

Good evening! Quiet here. I'm actually sitting on the lanai...it's still humid but a rain came through and broke the heat. When we lived in Iowa, a good rainstorm would not only break the heat but also the humidity. Not here...nothing ever breaks the humidity! And it is already Wednesday evening. I'm usually happy about that...but I'm holding on to each and every day now. Sydney and I went shopping for dorm room supplies...spent $200 and still have more to go. And she isn't doing any fancy decorating either.

Because she has a kitchen in their suite, she plans to cook. One of the benefits of the pandemic...she really got so she loved cooking. She was going to bring just one unbreakable place setting. But the plates were 50 cents each so I told her to get enough plates that she could serve all of her roommates if they wanted to eat! She feels like we are spending a disproportionate amount of money on the shared items, and we are, but I told her to stop worrying about it. It will only make her unhappy. Instead be grateful that we are in a position to do it. (Until I retire...then things may look different.)

@faerywings I hope that you enjoyed your pool time. Sounds like a great afternoon.

@taxed4ever it's such a good feeling to have things organized! And your kitchen really sounds like it smelled yummy! How excited you must be to see all of the grandkids. I bet there will be lots of swimming races in the future...with concessions being made on how much of a head start someone gets...or what strokes they need to swim to compensate for being a better swimmer. The laughter and the yelling---both sound delightful.

@tanteva you need to go back to work next week. How can that be? Are you sure? Check the calendar again... I do hate that feeling. Sorry that you had to skip your picnic. #cry

@BrightEyes how I do hate those updates. Really, if they didn't roll the software out with bugs, then leave me alone because I don't need changes every time I turn around. I bet that your tech guy has you up and running in no time!

@bcgal00 I can't believe that you are going on that cruise so soon. It sounds splendid. And to have Jen along...plus a chance to get those pictures again. Brian and I went to Paris 19 years ago and we lost all of our photos when a hard drive crashed. The only "proof" we had that we were ever there were the magnets on the refrigerator. So I was beyond thrilled that we had an opportunity to get new photos when we went this spring. I cannot wait to see your wildlife photos because you are the best when it comes to that!
