It is my mom's 78th birthday today! That's my good news for the day since everything else seems to be like ****. I saw the news before I went to bed and my heart just aches at the madness. I woke up in the middle of the night and struggled to get back to sleep- it took me over 2 hours to resettle. I don't have any active or recently active military in my family. FIL is a Marine, my dad was National Guard, but that was long ago. No one my generation or the one below me. But I *feel* for all of the military fams right now. "Thoughts and prayers" simply does not cut it. :( I send them anyway. I chose my last night's meditation to be for peace- beginning with the self, then the home, neighborhood, cities-- expanding outward to the entire world. Maybe it is like the placebo effect where thinking something is making a difference actually does. :eek:hwell:
BTW- If anyone is interesting, I use the Insight Timer app for the meditations. I have it on my iPod and the amount of meditations they have available for free is enormous.

Yesterday was a semi-puttery one. I was finally able to finish my shopping order w/o the site crashing. Cait and I worked on the puzzle I got her for her b-day. It had been sitting out for so long the pieces and board were so dusty
We worked with the rats together, letting all five of them snuggle and crawl on our shoulders. There was no puffing of fur and even some chuckles form Livvie. No updates on names. :(
I started painting the wood for my mom's gift and today I am going to do the lettering and then the gluing of the shells. That should be it! I will share a pic when it is done.
Off to pick up groceries and my new referral to the podiatrist since the current one is about to expire.
My foot is hurting a lot this morning so I should try to rest it a bit. How to do that while staying away from the news?

xoxo

Cinda- sending hugs to you! What an emotional whirlwind that must be. :(
I hope that scrapping helps you feel better.

Nancy- yikes, dizziness isn't a good feeling at all. Are you doing better today? I shouldn't laugh but "men!" How did anyone ever think that men were smart enough to run the world? :p
I guess it is "decent" news that the Dr doesn't seem super-worried that he and your DH haven't connected yet. Good luck!

I was in a panic for Scott yesterday morning. He asked me where the folder was that I had the passport paperwork in, he thought his driver's lic was still in it. And it wasn't. He had put it inside his expired passport in his pocket while Cait's paperwork was being done. He was hoping that maybe it fell out of the passport at the PO. He calls the PO, they don't have it. At this point, we are thinking- Ugh-- what if it is in the passport application that was mailed to the State dept???!!!
I look at the DMV website for what to do about getting a duplicate lic. Either he can go the DMV, apply in person, and get it immediately- BUT-- he needs his 6 points with his birth certificate- which is in the mail to the State Dept! :faint2:
Option 2 was to apply online- but that could take 14 business days to process and you can't drive w/o a lic.
Now I am in utter panic mode for him. Practically hair on fire. :flame:
Further down the web site, it says that you can print an interim DL as soon as the payment is processed. As I am trying desperately to find out how long that could take and which payment method is the fastest, he yells down to me that he found it. He was checking the pockets of the jeans that he was wearing, thinking that they were the same ones he wore yesterday. He finally realized that they *weren't* the same ones, just identical to them.
Honestly, I should have known. He tends to "lose" things often. But still, losing a DL is kinda important.
Is it any wonder that I am stressed all of the time and much of it is my own fault? Bwahaha!!!

Rae- sorry to hear that you passed on the puppy, but ITA with your decision. It was the right choice. Hopefully, the person will be able to find a good home for the dog, one that will be a great fit for everyone.
Caitlyn tried to get some pics of the 5 girls in the wheel together but I don't know how good they came out.

Kay- How did your feet do at the end of that busy day? I hope you get to see DD#1 soon.

Trudy- nice to see your happy face again! How did the new earbuds work in the pool? I hope that you were able to get a lot of things done that you needed to do. I am with ya, takes me *forever* lately to get anything done. My brain is such a mess. I hope that both of ours improve! :D

Morning ladies... a nicer day today weather wise, the rain has finally stopped! I was debating on going on the hike this morning, but the car is on empty and the price of gas is horrid, so I think I will stay home and just do a nice walk or something around here today. I know I am being lazy!! Yesterday was my first time back to the pool for a long while and it was nice to be in the water again! There was hardly anyone there... it was very quiet! My new earbuds worked great, however I did have to stop a few times to adjust them which was kind of annoying, but I think I have them fitting better now, so hopefully they will stay in place better next time! I still need to add more music to my playlist though and really have no idea what I would like to listen to. Any suggestions??

Chris - Yes the news from the states is pretty frightful! What else can I say?? I am hopeful that no one was hurt with these latest missles fired. It seems like they were not very precise and hopefully they were just trying to prove a point and show there muscles. Hopefully this gets resolved quickly! There will never be peace there!! Sad!! Whew so glad that Scott found his Drivers Licence! That is so stressfull ! No wonder your hair was almost on fire LOL!! Put your foot up and stay off of it as much as you can today!! Try to watch a good movie or something and stay away from the news!! Hope that you get your project finished off for your Mom's birthday!! Happy Birthday to her from me!! I know she will love your gift and yes please show us a photo of your talent!

I will be off to the local craft store today to pick up a few things, I did not like how my sisters card turned out, so I need to get another one done today! I have run out of some distress inks that I will use for the card, so off to the store I go! Hope to be here later to get a page done today too, but seems like I always say that and something else comes up to keep me away. Keep your fingers crossed for me that all goes well and I have time for some scrapping! Oh and I am not happy with my AVI I look like a shaggy dog and need a haircut so I will try again to do another soon!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning ladies. I'm dragging my feet a bit this morning so hope the coffee kicks in soon. I don't think I was up throughout the night any more than usual but for some reason I'm exhausted this morning. My shopping karma still continues :) I popped into VV at lunchtime yesterday and found a jacket I really like, that fit just perfectly and all it needs is a new button on one of the cuffs. I asked the cashier if I could request a price change to accommodate the cost of repairing the cuff. She changed it from $35 to $19 and then I had my 30% off seniors discount. What a great deal. I also found a few sweaters too. It was fun to look thru everything, I hadn't been in a long time as I don't really need anything now.

Last night I made keto pumpkin mousse last night and I love it. I made enough to have some each night for a treat. I have leftover pumpkin so I think I'll make some muffins tonight.

Chris - Happy B-day to your mom. Starting your day with morning meditation is great. Glad the rats are adjusting well. Can't wait to hear what the the names will be. C always comes up with such awesome ones. Glad that S found his DL...whew!

Trudy - hope you get your FB biz page up and running soon. Hope you get a card done that you like. BTW, I like your new avi. Show us your card when its done.

Hope everyone is well and has a great day. I'm going to pop into the gallery for a minute and then get to work.

good morning - well yesterday did not go as planned. My dizziness is pretty much gone so that is good. But I opted out of going to the game. Then my son calls me and he says he had been rear ended. Fortunately he had stopped - he was the middle car. Now I have two accidents that the insurance has to take care of and that means me too. But at least no one was hurt. The drivers in NJ are the pits. I am watching the end of Green Book. It is about a black pianist who has concerts in the deep south during segregation and hires an Italian NYC (Bronx) nightclub bouncer to be his driver. The Green Book is a book that details where in the south blacks could spend the night. It makes you think.

Chris wish your mom a happy birthday! Your present sounds lovely. I have finished my scrapping for awhile as I have to finish up the knitting squares for my afghan. It is so fun to do hand made gifts!

Trudy glad the earbuds worked. How fun to be able to listen to music as you do your laps. I am sure a walk around is great! Have fun at the craft store. Hope the facebook store gets up and it is easier.

Rae I am not surprised that you are exhausted. It is always hard to go back to work after a vacation. Your food sounds so good.

Waving to all! Have a great day!

Sorry I won't be doing personals today. This is the 2nd anniversary of Bill's death so I am sad and missing him. As usual, I made a page marking this milestone and put it on FB. Went to print it out and realized I had run out of cardstock. I have several LOs that need to be printed to go into his album.

Did some other scrapping this AM... I was watching the latest news about the fires in Oz and just wanted to cry over all the devastation and lost of lives [human and animals]. My son Jeff and his wife took so many fabulous photos from their trip 'down under' and gave me permission to use them whenever I wish. So I made a page for Challenge #1 about the beauty of Oz.

I treated for myself for supper last night... I made a hamburger with fresh guacamole... Plan on having another one today as it was sooooo good! Just to help with the calorie count, I use a thin whole grain sandwich bun. Since I caught a sale on avocados I will need to make more guacamole this week.... Not sure if I can take the temptation... .... I will probably freeze some and make fresh enchiladas to go along with some. I am crazy about Mexican food and would have 4-5 times a week!

DD#1 called this AM to let me know she has a scratchy throat so won't be coming over until it is gone. They just got word that her hubby's sister is getting worse (she has cancer) and they are not sure she will hold on until they get there in 2 weeks.

Sorry this is more of a 'downer' post... I am sure I will be in a better mood later on.

Hi dears!
Just wanted to pop in and say Hi to you all! Because most of the posts today are doleful which mean mine will not ruin some good day you can eventually had.
I got flu which bothered me the whole year, yep in January this kind of dramatics :drama: is allowed, and honestly 9 days flu and it's just getting worse, so it's seems as an year to me. I'm sure these chemicals poisoned me instead to cure! I'm able to read, but not to scrap or wrote till I'm in that condition. So as Chris, I just followed the news and Instagram posts about them and I'm heartbroken. In normal days I just stay away from them, by getting busy.
The fires in Australia just crashed me down. At same time at my country has no enough snow or rain typical for the winter time and two towns are on water restriction and soon can have more. People start protesting and complaining with arguments like: "this shouldn't happen in the modern 21st century", and even not realize how ridiculous dumb this sounds! This is just the beginning of our future, planet is on fire, water is not enough for our population, plastic is everywhere. And news continued to shows badass wich even now watering grass or wash their cars, what the hell!!! Actually my parents generation was the first that start use clean water at their toilets, my grandparents generation has a hole and special trucks that empty them. We waste clean water till other are thirsty. I see my fault in that as I'm obsessed to do it, and this is something I can't give up. I'm just too tired to care anymore!!! :kev:

Chris, just watch the movie "Charlie Wilson's War" all is shown clearly there.
I love your rats stories! Congrats for the new babies! Happy birthday to your mom and best wishes! Did you try ASMR for easy sleep yet?

Kay, stay strong!

Rae, sad that you aren't able to get another dog, good people have to provide chances to more pets, but I totally understand why this wasn't possible! Similar situation here!

Jean, , very interesting are the news about new facts for your family tree that you are found! How's the research going?

Nancy, hope your husband get better soon! Is he allowed to come on your summer trip or it's will be ladies only party? Thank goodness that your son wasn't hurt at this car accident!!! Sounds very scary!

Trudy, the earbuds are such a great accessory! I need music all the time. If you put playlist with your favorite songs at Spotify they offer you similar bands on a basis of other members' lists that match to your interest. Sorry to hear that the cards is not what you wanted! But are you sure that you aren't too critical to your creation?

Cinda, my mom goes thru many pills and Food supplements for her perimenopause and dislike all of them! Hopes you'll have better luck! To her the time was the key.
