Do you want to know how cold it is here? It is currently 9* and it was 4* when I woke up. Friday and Saturday will be around 0*F and we might get snow tomorrow. How happy am I??
So happy, I love this weather.
/snark

I am usually the one who yells at the family when they turn the heat up, but this past week, it has been me doing that. I will be mad when I see our oil bill, but when it is cold and hurts to breathe and you are already wearing 4 layers and a hat inside, I guess you do what you gotta do.
Food shopping was very quiet, and I didn't buy much of anything. No one puts stuff on the list so I don't get anything. *shrugs*
Since it didn't take me long, I was able to get my blood drawn on the way home and it was so cold, I didn't need to worry about my food defrosting.
The phone call with Caitlyn and the Attorney seemed to go well and I think she is slightly less anxious about it. The AG was low-key and walked Cait through what questions that would be asked of her.

Leah got Scott a card game version of The Oregon Trail. I don't know how long it has been around but my kids played that on the computer when they were in Elementary school. If you haven't heard of it, you start out with your group in Missouri and you need to over the Oregon Trail. You get supply cards and have Calamities come up. So at one point, I got Cholera, but I had one medicine card and Gary had a medicine card, so I was cured. I lost a medicine card when a calamity was that a thief stole my supply. Other things that happened to us were broken parts on the wagon, dead oxen, extreme cold and need for extra clothing.

It was actually a lot of fun, even though we officially started the game dying of snake bites in the first few rounds. We just ignored that so we could keep playing. Nothing like a family of cheaters :pound:

Today, I was supposed to clean for my neighbor, but I am going tomorrow instead. Since it is going to be a "balmy" 27* I might run a couple of the errands I need to do in town.
I still need to clean and organize my office. I should do that first since that is really the most important thing and if I don't run the errands, so be it.

Oh no. Crud. I forgot that I really do need to run some errands today. My mom's b-day is Monday and the family is coming here on Sunday. I need to get her a gift! What in the world am I going to get her??????
:faint2:

Ok, it is all good. I will figure something out.
(I hope)

Have a spectacular day!!!

Good Morning and a BIG welcome back to you, Trudy! We have missed you.
Your time with the kids sounds so happy and filled with fun. In a way it is good that you didn't take tons of pictures- like you said, that meant that you were involved and in the moment with them, the pictures that you took will be the jumping off point for the memories you will keep in your heart.
Your NYE sounds like it was a great time and something that eased the sadness of the empty house. What is the Mexican Train Game?
Didn't you just get a washing machine? It was a large appliance, wasn't it? Or maybe you were just looking for it.
Cait's car is in the shop too. The seat belt/airbag sensor is broken and that is $400 plus the rear view mirror keeps breaking and she might need a new windshield. I feel your financial pain. But that is really great news that the person who hit your car reported it. Gotta focus on the GOOD!!!
TY for saying those nice things about my kids. They both have a strong sense of righting injustices.

:censored: Oh, do NOT get me started on that a****** Trudeau and Merkel are doing a nice job stepping in as real leaders. I wish the US Congress (the Republicans) would do *something* to stop him and how he behaves and what he is doing to our institutions.
:boom: <~ Me just about every day

Rae- what a pretty new avi! It is on my To-Do list to redo mine. I still have some Xmas stuff to put away but not going in the attic just yest. Too cold and windy.
I will do yoga at home even though a class would be nicer. The place we have in town charges $10 a session. I sure don't have that.
How is Bailey today? I am crossing all of my fingers that she gets into the treatment center. I can't imagine how bad it would break my heart to hear that my kids were living in a crack house. My heart breaks for you and Jen. when things got depressing in my house, we would watch Always Sunny or 30 Rock just to laugh. Glad that Lucifer does that for you.

Jean- a high 5 to your DH! Hope that the meeting went well.

Sharon- I hope that your back feels better. Is 25* near a record low for you? The weather in batty.

xoxoxo to all of you!

Morning ladies... It is very chilly here this morning also, I had to get up early with DH so that I could have the truck today. My car is now in the shop to get a whole new front fender. Oh well at least we don't have to pay for it! This afternoon I am getting my hair cut and coloured, I would have totally forgotten all about it, so it was nice that they reminded me over the phone yesterday! It will be good to have it done for sure, but I still have to take down the tree today and finish off the page that I attempted to start yesterday. I still have the bedrooms and bathrooms to clean, but there is no hurry to get those jobs done. I also have to mail off a large parcel of the things that DD could not fit into her suitcases, ugh I wonder how much that will cost?? Oh well we knew it would happen, so it is what it is!

Chris - I just adore your new AVI!! Look at you all sparkly clean and ready for the New year!! I really need to do one for the New year too, perhaps today after I get my hair done. Thanks for the welcome back, I have missed everyone also! It is so nice to start my day here and catch up with all of you again! Yes I did just get a new big appliance a while back, but it was the dishwasher, this time its the washer and dryer that need to be replaced  it never ends!! I was the same at shopping yesterday, no one added anything to the list so it did not take me long to get what I needed, I am sure there were many more items that needed to be purchased, but oh well! That is bad news about Cait's car needing so much work done on it, I hope that it can be done quickly, but ugh the expense!! Here is what the Mexican Train Game is...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_Train Its a lot of fun!!

Nancy - Oh dear you are sick, sick!! So sorry to hear this! I understand that the flu is a very bad one this year, take care of you my friend and I hope you feel much better very soon! I am sending you some virtual Chicken Soup and lots of gentle hugs!!

Rae - Such a worry for you and your daughter! Poor Beckham, I truly hope that she gets the treatment that she needs! I too have a niece that is an addict and my poor sister is fighting for custody of her 6 year old beautiful little girl. The system is making it very difficult for it to happen, but I think that it is finally getting to the final stages of the adoption process. You are wise to try to not concentrate on what you have no control over. So glad that you have found something to make you laugh for at least a bit anyway. I love your new AVI you look so good! I suppose the house seems empty now without your DH around and now you are back to a heavy workload again. Hopefully you find some time for yourself today, sending you lots of hugs today also, I think that you and Jen could use them!

Jean - Hope that your meeting went well, good on your DH for going with you! Hope that the temps warm up for you today!

Sharon - Yummy beans, I have not had any for so long, not a Keto friendly thing, but I hope that you got to enjoy them! Hope that your back feels better today!

Hi to you Felis!! Hope you are getting lots of work done and that you are scrapping with all your new goodies today!

Ok I need to get my challenge winner posted and get some coupons out for the regular challenges done also, hope you all have a fabulous day! Keep warm!

I get my hair cut. Just a few inches, just for it health. My mom's hobby is hairstyle, so she made the hairs of the whole family, including her own. Like Chris, I will do yoga at home, because I don't like the attention in these gyms, if I'm not good in something I don't want to give others reason to laughing on me. And yes they did it. I browsing the YouTube and Dr.Oz's site to find some girl's chanel that I like. For now I using my yoga pants like pajama. I still don't have yoga mat and even sports bra, and hmm, it's too cold right now to lay on a floor, isn't it?! Is that sounds like procrastinating?!
I try to not freak out, because receive very bad signs these days. And for these who don't know me I'm very obsessed by the signs and predictions. I hope they are for the week or at least for the month, but not to infect the whole year!

Chris and Rae you have your new avi, both are gorgeous! I have to put back mine, but I was plan first to see who will win in the avi thread.

Chris, The Oregon Trail game sounds very fun. I have idea to scrap one game from my school years, which was reminder from the chocolate company this year, but will see when I'll have time for that. Hope you have luck with finding gift for your mother! Oh, I keep too hot in our room. This is why we still are on wood fireplace, we also have air conditioning, but it's so expensive. And the discussion about whose way is more eco friendly were many twists and turns last year. They proved that the electricity coming from the waters centrals are damaged the quality of the rivers seriously, and these wind turbine are put too low in my country and hurted many birds. Huh, human activities always is destroying.

Rae, poor little Taz, indeed! I hope he will be better soon! I can imagine how much the news about the Bailey's life is hurt you. Hugs! Maybe your husband will can talk with the owner and get back some of her stuff from the locked apartment. But just in case this wouldn't make her mad. Or maybe is better that all is lost, now she will can have completely new beginning without things which remind the past.

Trudy, such a lovely story about your family Christmas! I also often remember when it was too late, that would be awesome if I was capture some moments. But like Chris, is said better to be in the moment, then to make a hundred photos, but when you check them out to find that you actually are missed to notice the most interesting things, like happened to me on the fortress visit. If I'm understand you correctly your cold is gone and you are feel well now, or I hope so! Bad for the washing machine. Fingers crossed to find something on sale!
I'm saw Trudeau, he had a hard time to respond about the weather changes and the needs of industry, and I liked how he is careful to the planet, but realistic about the economy. I'm afraid that our Prime Minister too often give promises, before to know all side, and then change his position.
I hoping to get started on my layouts today or tomorrow.

Jean, today I started the new 52 weeks Thread, in case that someone want to join with 365 Project. I hope your meeting yesterday was fun!

Sharon, I 'm recommend to the girls here Arnica Cream for different kind of joint and muscle pain, but it's really works for my family. Hope you feel better soon!

Nancy, oh, no! Take care for yourself, dear! Stay on warm under the blankets and hugging Luther, to give you positive vibes! Get well soon!

Good morning, ladies. Got Taz over to doggie daycare and now can buckle down to get lots of chores and work done today. They've got Bailey on meds and she's been sleeping a lot. There might be a treatment bed opening up for her, so fingers crossed. I went over to the mall yesterday to see what an upgrade to my phone would be (my contract ran out over a year ago). I'm torn between the Samsung 8+ or the iphone 8+ and have to decide which carrier to go with. I talked to reps at both stores yesterday and this week will call their customer service line to see what their bottom line is. Hopefully I will have a new phone in the next week or so.

I have the new calendars up (kitchen and office) and got a desk calendar "seize the day" which I like as it gives me a new motivational quote each day. They would be good for scrap pages too. Got my all-in-one computer and desk back in the LR corner now that the tree is put away so will be happy to use that a bit at night sometimes. I find though that I'm not interested in scrapping much later at night anymore. I am enjoying melting into my reclining chair with my ipad and watching tv.

Chris - 9 is way too cold for me....brrrr.....I find 35 too cold (temp right now here). I need to clean and organize my office too but that won't happen this week.

Trudy - that sucks about needing more new appliances. We will need washer/dryer replaced I'm sure sometime this year or next as its old and on its last legs. I keep hanging onto them as long as possible, hating to spend the money. Good you don't have to pay for car repairs thankfully. It's always something isn't it??? Enjoy the feel of a new haircut and color. I'll be due for a trim soon. Now with shorter hair I'll have to be more diligent about keeping it shaped.

Felis - I too want to do my yoga at home but first I need to learn the basics and especially how to protect my wrists which are prone to tendonitis flareups. I hate leaving the house to go exercise and that tends to make me want to procrastinate but I will try to push myself to do it. With my busy schedule its so much easier if I can do this here without spending time driving back and forth so hopefully I won't need too many lessons to get the hang of it.

Nancy - sucks being sick. Hope it passes quickly. Try some essential oils, I think they help. I rub oils on my feet at bedtime to boost my immune system and the diffuser at bedtime helps also.

I'd better get to work now. Hope you all have a great day and will check in again later.

It was only 8* when I went to bed, but now it is 22* but only briefly before getting even colder for a couple days. The meeting yesterday was board of the computer genealogy group and all friends. Showed my book to one and she was impressed. Yeah! Will be giving copy to library at historical society Saturday. Tonight is bird club meeting. Makes me sound busy, but really not.

Chris, love the new avi! Sorry about the cost for fixing Cait's car. You are going to have to stay under all those layers for a while even though you'll get this slight warming tomorrow. I'm with you on feeling like blowing up every day, especially with the thing in the WH. Was just thinking about the Oregon Trail last night, and here you have a game about it. How cool.

Nancy, oh no! Sorry you're . ::grouphug We'll all send virtual chicken soup.

Trudy, sounds like a busy day for you. Hope things work out with your car (even if not paying for it) and getting new washer/dryer.

Felis, thanks for opening the thread on Project 52, etc. Hope to see more folks join in. Also hope you find better signs for the year soon!

Rae, wishing the best for B! I know you're going to be very busy these days so that will keep your mind off it some. Your new avi is gorgeous!

Sharon, all, hope it's a good day.
