Happy New Year to all of my dear O-Fam!!!!
I feel really good ATM, I slept great. I feel guilty since Gary had to sleep on the couch but it was just me and two dogs in bed and they stayed on the other side of me.
Of course, I wasn't up any later than normal and I had my alarm turned off so that didn't hurt my sleep cycle at all.

How was your evening? Ours was quiet- we watched TV and relaxed with the pups. I had a glass of wine. Terribly exciting, wouldn't you say? haha. My kids were hanging in front of the fireplace and had plans to watch some movies and play some games. I didn't have to worry about them being on the roads and that is always a good thing. They will be home this afternoon.
I was able to get al of the ornaments packed away and Gary brought the tree outside this morning. It is nice living next to the woods where we can bring the tree to the back yard and let the little critters use it for their homes. It is always nice to smell the tree in the spring when I am raking and cleaning up the yard and I brush up against it.

Nothing else happening here- I have to work on my food shopping list and set up my calendars. I have a few more decorations to be wrapped and packed so Gary can get that stuff into the attic. That is it, nice and quiet until the kids get home :D

wishing everyone a great day and a great new year! xoxo

Kay- I use Purex odor-blaster (or whatever it is called) detergent since it is on sale often, but I know there are lots of different brands for that now. Also lots of sports odor "additives." Gosh, the brain is not finding the right words recently.
Since I am surrounded by Punsters (Pun-ishers LOL) I appreciate your "clean start."
I saw your LO on FB and your journaling was so incredibly moving.
That is great news about your foot-- give me hope for my own too. Feel free to yell at me too. I deserve it *hangs head in shame- but not with remorse* :pound:
Restless arms- that is crazy... thank goodness he never gave you a black eye in your sleep, no one would believe you.

Trudy- I also hope that Heather is able to regain her balance but what a powerhouse she is in spite of it. She is a fab strong woman and a loving mom and partner. Not much more you can ask for (aside from money, who couldn't use a bit more of that?)
I am sorry that you were feeling down, did you get to Facetime with the kids at all last night?
Another amazing painting! How many have you sold so far?

Rae- That is insane that an egg would give you sich a bad reaction to it. Who would have thought? I am glad that you are feeling better and I am hoping that you can take it easy today too.
Is the vet concerned about Taz losing weight? I hope that the broth jumpstarts his appetite.

Hi, Nancy and Jean!!

Was in bed reading early last night. Fell asleep around 9 and slept until 5AM. That is 8 hours so not complaining about waking up early. Hard to believe it is a new decade!!! Time seems to slipping by so quickly - yet the days/weeks seem to creep by. Never made it out of the house yesterday... the wind was blowing so wind chill made it about 37 so I couldn't work up the energy to bundle up.

Chris... Purex odor blaster is the one I was talking about getting. Will get the small bottle to begin with to make sure it works and that I don't have a reaction to it. Thanks for the nice comment about my 2019 - Year of Memories LO on FB. Hate to yell at anyone but since my BFF took her falls off a step stool (1st one) then off the attic ladder (2nd one), I worry about anyone with a problem climbing on them. The really scary part is that her hubby was right beside her when both falls happened and he couldn't prevent them. Glad Gary did the climb up the attic ladder for you. Nice that the Christmas tree can be used for the little critters in the woods behind your house. Better than in a land fill.

Oh, Rae... so sorry that eggs cause such a bad reaction for you. You are wise to avoid them if you can.

Trudy... I am in awe of your painting talent ... the turtle one is fabulous! Hope you got the resin so it could be curing now. So sorry to hear that Heather has such a bad balance problem... my heart goes out to her.

Although I loved the fun avatars everyone was sporting in December, it is nice to see your smiling faces again. I am off to get a shower now that the house temp is warm enough. CYL

good morning - Happy New Year's Day! My Devils actually won yesterday coming from down 2-0 to win against a good Boston team in a shoot out. However Boston was without several of their best players who are injured. But still to hold that team to just two goals was pretty impressive. So hockey started out good, then came home and watch the Vegas win and best was the Arizona Coyotes defeated the St. Louis Blues. And that game ended just 30 min before midnight my time so yes my DH and I were up to see the new decade begin. My DH and I are of a different mindset as to when a decade begin. Seems to me that the first year of a decade would be year one not year zero. I googled it just to see info was out there. Seems that both are correct. Today will be the Winter Classic in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl. Should be fun. And they will not be freezing! Waiting for the weather to clear a bit and then will go for walk with DH and Luther. So I finished and finally printed out my 1977 Alaska book and OMgosh I love it. Yet no matter how many times I read and spell check there are always mistakes but to me that just makes it real. Then I made a calendar for my son and of his friends and they arrived. Again they turned out so well. It was a quick put together so that I could use a coupon and so they would get them by the start of the year. They came on the 30th and so he gave the out and he said they all thought it was really cool. Made me happy! So now I have to finish my bird book.

Chris I am like you I need stuff at the store but just not in the mood to go. Glad you did not have to worry about the kids and could enjoy a quiet night. And yes do not climb on anything! Love that your tree becomes a home for little critters.

Kay congrats on your foot feeling so good! Sleeping 8 hrs is awesome! Sorry your temps so cold. We should be in 40s. But at least I am starting to see sun!

Trudy love the new turtle painting. I ,like Kay, am in awe of your talent. Sorry about beating your Bruins but like I said they did have a depleted squad. It is very inspiring how far your Heather has come. You must be such a proud mom! I hope her balance improves - she surely works hard - and as I said she is inspiring!

Waving to Jean and Felis!

Have a great day all!

Good very late morning ladies... Happy New Year to you all!! We had a very quiet night and a couple of glasses of wine as we sat and watched a movie. Both DH and I were in bed by 10:45 aren't we a couple of live wires LOL!! Slept right through the night and was up at 7am. DH was already awake and the coffee was ready when I crawled out of bed this morning! A good start to the New Year!! We talked a bit with the kids, but everyone there was ready for bed before midnight also, so I would imagine they will be busy today doing something fun hopefully! DH and I might hit the local movie theatre to see either the New Star Wars movie or the new Jumanji movie. I told DH he had to choose which one as I would like to see either one. So this morning I was busy putting resin on my painting and now it is all covered up and hopefully it will cure perfectly. (Please no little hairs or flaws!!) I really need to get this out in the mail! I will be putting away a few Christmas things today also. Seems like I just got everything all out! Wow the time sure went by fast!
I have to thank all of you for the lovely comments for my Heather!! You are all so kind! She really is an inspiration to us also and I think that she has accepted that she will never be able to walk without assistance of her walker or other people. Guess it probably bothers me more than it does her LOL.

Chris - Sounds like we are having the same kind of day with putting out the calendars and just kind of puttering around. Hope you get your grocery shopping list done. I don't need anything in the way of groceries for a bit yet, so many darn leftovers to eat LOL. Oh well that is ok! Thanks for the compliment on my painting this is the 5th turtle painting that I have sold. I hope to be done with the turtles for a bit and get busy painting something else LOL. Hope that your kids have a fun day and safe drive home!

Kay - Nice that you got in such a great sleep, it isn't so bad getting up early when you have at least 8 hours of shut eye! Thank you for your love to my DD!! I can't believe it has been 20 years and yet I am still not over it LOL. Guess I never will be, but I am grateful that she has found happiness and love and hopefully her boys will care for her in her old age. I think that is what bothers me the most, will she be ok when I am long gone?? Silly isn't it!!

Rae - OMG an egg gave you such a horrible reaction!! Good Heavens your poor tummy!! I can totally relate though as any kind of grains do the same to me. Ughhh!! Hope you are doing much better today and that you are enjoying a nice walk with Taz this morning!

Nancy - I told my DH that your Devils would probably defeat the Bruins!! We suck at the shoot out and yes our team was missing many of their best. Sounds like you had a great day of hockey though! So glad that your calendars and book turned out so well!! I bet everyone loves them! I need to get DH a desk calendar done for his work, so hope to find some time to do that this week! Its funny they did a thing on the news last night as to when the decade really starts and I am like you and believe it should be year one and not year zero, but DH thinks the opposite, too funny!! Thanks for the compliment on my turtle painting and your nice comment for my Heather, yes I am a very proud Momma of all that she has accomplished over the past 20 years.

Hello to Jean and Felis - Hope that you are both happy and enjoying a great first day of 2020! Gotta go and get something to eat. Have a great day everyone!

Happy New Year, lOvelies!
Wish you healthy, happy and calm year! And fun and remarkable decade!

It's so strange, at one moment we was drinking champagne and laugh and on next I woke up at new year, at empty house, with people back to work or on the plane. I feels a little bit disorientate. Don't know do you have this tradition, but here after the midnight drunk people start text to all their contacts. No message is better as he maybe is one of these that think they are too cool to text, nice; friendly message could mean nothing or everything, it's OK; BUT group message is equal to murder, makes you equated to acquaintance, that's disaster. All that expecting and recall makes the day unnecessary tense.
2020 scares me so much. Unfortunately it looks like lots of bad things are possible to come. But it's a long run, so hope after the autumn things to settle down! Just have to be strength till then!

I don't rush to take off the decoration, needs to take a breath and feels festive for a little more!

Time for personals :champagne:champagne

Chris, busy bee from the first day, that's not surprised me at all! I think my tree will finish at the fireplace. Sad but practical!

Kay, my mom was murmuring to do exactly the same as you. She insist that find it more festive just to wake up fresh at the new year, instead to drag around whole night  :) . Hope you had festive dreams! I was so disappointed from repeating avatars, so I'm happy to see all back with personality too!

Nancy, what a great way to welcome the new decade celebrating won! Bravo for that made the calendars arrived at the perfect time!

Trudy, I wouldn't worry about Heather, she is remarkable lady! Ouch, I'm surprised you are chosen the calm variant of celebration?! I think from our group you are the lady with most famous friends, I was imagine you on some party with other painters and writers?! Nevermind, only important is what makes you happy!

Jean,, I saw your lovely 52 page! Sorry, I wasn't able to scrap and will finish them this year : ashamed: ! Do you have some plans for this year? I definitely wouldn't try another 52, but maybe monthly project?! Or 20 project: every month scrap a page for 20 photos of something?! I'm still thinking, as it looks like I woudn't have much time to scrap this year.

Good afternoon, ladies. Hope your first day of 2020 is off to a good start. Took advantage of the clear skies today and have been outdoors a lot. I went out a few times for bird photos and then Taz and I went out for a long hike and I brought the camera to take photos of him playing along the path and in the creek. He is tired out now and sleeping under my office desk. In between going outside, I got the tree and decorations packed away and just need to tidy up the kitchen and things are back to normal. My living room computer is back in place and even though it is slow and small compared to my office one, it is nice to be able to scrap while watching TV with hubs. We watched almost all the episodes of Stumptown yesterday, then A Quiet Place which was ok but not one of my faves and then Knives Out which we both really liked. I fell asleep on the couch around 11:15 or so, just after starting JoJo Rabbit so will re-watch that one some other time. Tonight we are going to binge another show, not sure what yet.

I'm fine now, the reaction to the eggs is gone. Lesson learned, whenever possible, I will stick to the organic brown eggs I get from our natural store as I sometimes have a bit of a reaction but almost none to those.

Chris - good thing I don't live where you are. I'd be "staging" and placing the tree all over the place for bird photos LOL.

Kay - a good sound sleep is a great way to start off the new year. I too slept really well.

Nancy - hockey victory on NYE....I'm sure you really enjoyed that!

Felis - our family used to call each other on NYE just after midnight. Nowadays we just text the next morning and check in with other on FB.

I've got my photos loaded from today and want to check out Taz's photos so I'm getting out of here.
