Happy Hump Day! How are the O-zies today?
Me-- I am cold. It is going to warm up into the 40's today but right now we are at the edge of freezing and everything is covered with a thin sheet of ice. Scott doesn't have classes but Cait has to go in at 8.30. Hopefully, the roads will be treated by then.

I didn't see this until it was too late but yesterday was Nancy's birthday! Hope you had a wonderful day. Did your guys spoil you? Hope so!:HapBirth:

Food shopping was dull, but that is all good. I found pet-friendly ice melt and not a day too soon. Whoo hoo.
I got the free movie tickets- 2 tickets, 1 lg popcorn and 2 drinks. I am really glad that I called to ask about it. Scott suggested that they each got one ticket and then they only have to pay for their SO. Cait already said that she will take Brendan to see the Han Solo movie when it comes out. A+ girlfriend.
I also needed to get a sympathy card for Leah's aunt. Leah's grandpa passed away over the weekend. He was 93 and had a heart attack so while sad, it wasn't unexpected. I was shocked that my local RiteAid has a small section of Jewish greeting cards. My town is pretty "white bread" up here. I was even happier that they had an English translation on the back since I don't read Hebrew. I made a card for Arlene (this was her FIL) but wasn't sure that was appropriate for the Aunt and her family.

Today is bill paying and desk work. Cait is only babysitting for a little while today so it will be nice to have the 4 of us for dinner.

I guess that is about it.
Oh-- happy Valentine's Day if that is something that you celebrate. We haven't done anything for it in years. I got a little choked up when I saw what Brendan got for Caitlyn. It is a framed print of the night sky on the day they started going out with the date/latitude and longitude of our town and the title is "I can't stop falling in love with you".
How sweet is that?
Makes me happy that my kids are happy. All 4 of them.

Love to all if you, too!!!
xoxo

Nancy- That sounds like it was a perfect b-day for you- the Olympics and NHL and scrapping! Then a cut and color- good for you!! How was your night out with the girls?
Are your arm and shoulder feeling OK after getting yanked by Luther? I am glad that you didn't fall. I still am sore.

Rae- How nice to have a relaxing day and go to bed early- my kind of day/evening.
We obviously get the enormous bags of dog food and had heard about the best ways to keep it fresh. Gary researched the different types of storage bins last year. The bucket that we have is plastic but some sort of treated plastic with a screw-on lid. It is kind of a PITA to open and close but if it works to keep the food fresh than I am all for it. You are one brave woman to go to the dog park in the cold!
Did clothing karma stay with you at VV?

Trudy- what a super gift for Heather! Glad that you were able to get the remote working properly. Uh oh-- the Man cold... now three boys to be taken care of, poor girl!.
You looked amazing and vibrant in that photo that you posted from your hike. You rock!!!

Cheryl- good for you for getting things organized. I worked in the linen closet the other day and two of the panty cabinet shelves the day before that, Slowly for sure. great idea to take pics of the artwork! I have a hard time tossing things and that would be a great way to get around it.

Felis- nice job between you and your sister getting a good deal for the coat. I am with you, I have no need to be "in style" )as I sit here wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants that are Gary's LOL ) Hope that it fits perfectly!
I don't think that are any mobile vets around her. I know that there are some groomers that travel but not vets. My vet and staff are wonderful and spoil them with lots of treats so it is just J being a big baby.heh! She actually was fine with vet visits until she had her knee surgery and I can't say I blame her for being wary after that.
Hoping that your electric stayed on the rest of the day!

good morning - thanks for the birthday wishes. I had a great day. Getting my hair cut and colored. Then out to dinner with my girlfriends. That is always fun. My one girlfriend is thinking of downsizing and has been going through her "junk" and found some old CDs I had given her before there was cloud backup. I cant wait to see what is on the disks and get the photos to the cloud. My laptop does not have a CD slot so I had to order from Amazon a reader with a USB plug. Too funny. My boys were so funny said the hockey gods were giving me a present as my NJ Devils defeated the Flyers in a Shoot Out on my birthday and both the Rangers and Islanders lost. This morning the Men's hockey tournament started and I am watching team USA play Slovenia. So far 1-0 USA. Today is Valentine's day but we don't do anything it seems to me more for couples and newly married. My son is taking today off to surprise his wife with her favorite meal. He has already ordered flowers too. Proud of that boy! Me I will cook a good blue apron dinner.

Chris glad your shopping went well. I love that present from Brendan. I had heard about that and I think it is such a cool present. Hope the bill paying is not too stressful. And thanks for asking about the pull from Luther, I broke fingernails and my hand is sore.

Trudy thanks for the birthday thread. Very thoughtful. What an awesome gift for Heather. You are good to be able to get it working just using FaceTime. Love the hiking photo. What a gorgeous day!

Rae you crack me up how well you do at your VV store. Glad you able to relax and to bed early. Hope today's work is not heavy. And as much as I like the dog parks it does not keep you warm as you watch the dogs run around, so the dogs are nice and warm. Hope your temps are on the rise. We should get near 50 today.

Felis glad you got the coat for a good deal. And we do have a mobile vet in our area. A lot of people swear by her. I think it is a great idea but I love my vet and they know Luther so I am not changing now.

Cheryl good luck on the organizing. Love the idea of digitizing the art.

Have a great day all!

Happy Valentines Day ladies! DH and I do not celebrate the day, we know how much we love each other :becky: Seems a waste of hard earned cash to buy flowers, chocolate (which I can't eat) and cards which are getting horribly expensive. Guess I am a Valentine scrooge LOL. I am in agreement with Nancy and feel it is more for young couples and newlyweds. Today I will not be hiking again as I am waiting for the Telus Service Man to come to our house to give us a new PVR, the one in the kitchen has been acting up for a few weeks now and I am sick of dealing with it. DH was on the phone with them last night and they tried everything they could think of to get it working again. No luck!! But of course this morning its working perfectly :gaah: Oh well I am sure they will just replace this one. The offered us 6 free movies for the inconvenience. Now to find something that I want to see. I managed to scrap one page yesterday and I really need to do some commenting in the gallery today. Hopefully some more scrapping too.

Chris - Glad that your food shopping went ok, its not the most exciting thing to do is it!! But a neccesity. Sorry to hear about Leah's grandpa, but sounds like he had a long life! Your kids are so thoughtful to their sweethearts and so nice that all four of your kids are happy and loving!! Brendan is a Romantic  I hope your day of bill paying goes well today, that is never a fun job either!! Thanks for the nice comment on my hiking photo, it was such a beautiful day! Yes Heather loves her birthday gift and has been bing watching her fav shows that she never seemed to be able to see before, because they would always be on when she was putting the kids to bed or going to bed herself. No PVR upstairs so this was a good option for her. I have also sent her some very nice facial products and a few other small things for her birthday on the 16th, hopefully they arrive in time.

Nancy - What a great way to spend your birthday, doing all the things that make you happy! Hope your hair turned out great and those Devils must have known that it was your special day :becky: and then for the Rangers and Islanders to lose also, must have been the icing on your birthday cake LOL. Enjoy your Blue Apron meal tonight, I bet its another delicious one!

Rae - I see on the news that the lower Mainland has gotten snow, we were lucky enough to not have any over here in Duncan, although it looks like lots of fresh snow on the mountain tops. Hope you are staying nice and warm at home today! Did you get some great buys at VV yesterday? Seniors discount too you rock!! Hope that you get all caught up with work today!

Cheryl - So great that you are busy with your orgainizing and cleaning up of your cabinets, you will have a sparkling kitchen! What a sweet idea to get your artwork all digitized, hope it goes smoothly!

Felis - Yay on the good shopping karma for you, hope that the coat fits you perfectly!! Always feels good when you can save that much on something that you really want! I did have a lovely day for the hike, its one of my favourite places to hike and not being able to hike today I am glad that I got out on for one on Monday. Swimming was great too, I went a bit earlier than usual and the pool was nice and quiet. Hope that your electricity did not go out anymore, its so frustrating when you are in the middle of something and then you lose power :frusty:

:hello: Jean, hope that you and your DH are both feeling ok and that your temps have warmed up a bit.

I am going to get another cup of coffee and then wait for DH to facetime in a bit. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. My day started out well yesterday. I found pajamas, hoodies and tshirts so the clothing karma continues. Jen called me later in the morning to let me know that B had left the centre. She checked herself out, her BF came to get her and they went back to the crack house to live. We all spent the rest of yesterday feeling sad, frustrated and cried off and on. We all knew that B was so far gone that the chance of recovery was iffy but I was really starting to hope. Poor girl, she doesn't deserve this life she has and I wish I could fix her and give her the happiness and health to live a good life. It just doesn't seem to be her path. We will try to push those feelings aside now and carry on b/c otherwise I can't function. I had to go out for a few hours yesterday b/c I could not work, my brain and fingers were not communicating well. I hope today I can focus better. I am going to get steaks for dinner and we'll relax with a movie tonight and probably go to bed early, neither of us slept well.

So today I am going to try to put aside the sadness and focus on how lucky I am to have the support and love of my hubs who I could not get thru this without. He is really my rock.

We did get snow last night, a few inches of it. Its wet snow so it'll turn to slush soon. Taz enjoyed running thru the yard in it this morning.

Chris - glad you found the right card for Leah for her grandpa's passing. The kids will enjoy the movie tickets. The gift that Brendan got is really sweet.

Trudy - hope you get your new PVR today.

Nancy - enjoy your BA dinner tonight and your sports.

Everyone else....hope you have a great day.

I'm getting another coffee and then get started on work. Have a great day, everyone.

It is definitely warmer and snow melting. We are OK, so far I seem to be avoiding the cold, but DH still not quite well and cancelled the bird survey for this am. Now I've got to get ready for the senior center genealogy group. It is also the day Indians' pitchers and catchers report, so very springlike!

Wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's day, to these of you who celebrated it!
Before the movies and commercialization, on this date traditionally celebrated Trifon Zarezan's day festival of wine and the vine. Somehow both holy days matched, and now people can choose which one to celebrate or even both of them. If in the end of the journey you don't needs from wine so to can swallow the love, it is worth it. :partywine
I don't celebrate any of them, so for me was just a regular day. I have much backward work and it's become so cold outside, so next few days will be boring.

Chris, L O L, I do like your hipster/grunge outfits it's important to have personality, But just hope Gary are not sit there wearing yours :nerd:! As others has already said for the present from Brendan, I think it is such a cool present, too!
Condolences to Leah's family for their loss!

Nancy, I'm happy that you had awesome bday! To found these old CDs is exciting with sure! At first I thought that I could take off these photos and to resend it online for you, so to not spend money for a reader unnecessarily. But I'm not sure, to send me a mail with them will cost $15 and takes 30 days, so maybe your desigion is better.

Trudy, hope the Telus Service Man don't left you to wait to long! Here the electricity has on and off whole morning. Actually this is been planned replacement of the measuring instruments. They are explain on my mom when comes to us, that it's been anonsed on a local TV advertisement chanel and on a site of the electrisity company with scheduel, but who to see it?! And it was drizzle, so not much good moment, poor workers! Hope the second part of Heather's gift be delivered on time!

Jean, I saw your weekly page and it's so adorable! I collected toys long time, and it was difficult to stop :). Have fun with the genealogy group!

I just have to hug you, Rae  ! We are with you dear and feels your pain! All these 'friends' are poison for her. But I'm sure she is not lost for the bright side. I've read about a couple of people who also needed few attempts before they can come back and complete the cleaning program.
Poor Jen, how much pain can she stand?
