Good morning! Looks like we are going to be getting some snow and ice today but who knows how much. I have heard everything between 2-4 and 3-6."
Scott's school is closed but Caitlyn's is open. All of the school districts are closed too. I hope that she is able to get there and back safely. I worry much more about the ice that will come later.

Yesterday was pretty much a quiet day for me. I scrubbed out the refrigerator and no yucky smells from there either. I guess I am just plain old weird. I also was able to scrap a page for Trudy's Artsy Challenge. I think that I have already scrapped/posted more pages this month than I did last month in total. That might be an exaggeration but it has to be close.

I was supposed to clean for my friend today but since school is closed I am going tomorrow after my mammogram. Today I have nothing much happening which is good because I can feel my Tindamax headache coming on. My LLMD Rxd a painkiller- fiorocet?- and I am not sure how I will react to it. The label says that it can make you drowsy and/or jittery. I will only take it if I really need to, esp since it could be habit-forming.

I wish it would start snowing already so Cait's school will close. hmmmph!

hoping everyone has a warm and cozy day!
xoxo

Nancy- What is the weather going to do by you today? I am with you-- rain *or* snow. This mix stuff is the worst. Bok choy rice cakes- what an interesting combination. Were you able to scrap at all?

Trudy- :gaah: I hope that your Gary went to the dr yesterday. what is it with men? Gary had an appt with the endocrinologist yesterday and he has to go every three months. His GP wasn't comfortable Rx-ing him insulin anymore so naturally, Gary was aggravated. But the endo made him see an eye Dr who saw that he has the start of retinopathy and will monitor that closely. He was there yesterday and they put a constant blood glucose monitor on him. He has to go back in 2 weeks to have it removed and read. So-- long story short- if you go the dr when you are supposed to then maybe your health will be better. (And in your case, that you won't get your wife sick!!!!)
OMG- that sounds like something straight out of the Faery Medical Misadventure Playbook with your appt. Don't blame you at all for walking out! Just keep a close eye on the nodules. if you decide to not go back.

Jean- hope that your snow is all done and that your board meeting was productive.

Felis- Oh wow, that must have been scary for you and for Tiny! How obnoxious of those drunk men. Glad that you were able to get to the area with people safely.

Hugs to all of you who read this!

good morning - well my team forgot how to play and lost 5-3. But again I don't know what the refs are looking at. My player Taylor Hall hit one of the Senator's players Alex Burrows and he went down hard and he was not happy. He started going after my play but he would not fight. Well he drags Hall down, pummels in the head, and then knees him in the head as Hall's head is resting on the ice. It was terrible. Burrows is facing a long suspension and deserves it. My back up goalie gave up 4 goals and his back up had to come in and he did pretty well. At least Hall was not seriously hurt and came back and scored a goal. I did not get any scrapping done. But I made the most amazing steak sauce gravy. Usually I find steak sauce to be too sour or salty but the recipe from Blue Apron came out with a bit a sweetness so it was awesome. It was just a steak, cheesy mashed potatoes, and roasted carrots. It was simple but with the steak sauce it was really tasty! Today I am off to Panera's with my girlfriend so no cooking tonight. May have time to scrap after I get Luther out for a walk. It is snowing lightly and I like walking it that so before it turns to rain which I don't like I will get him out.

Chris enjoy the restful day and congrats on scrapping. I really have to get started. Looks like we will get between 1-3 inches and then turn to rain. Yuck. I was always so mad when schools were closed in anticipation of snow and then no snow. Bet the doggies are happy!

Trudy those Bruins have been doing so well. I sure hope it continues today as they play the Rangers. I need the Rangers to lose. Hope your MG goes to the doctor. It is not worth suffering with the pain. And not worth you suffering his needs LOL.

Felis wow that is scary. I must say that having Luther on a walk my 119 lb German Shepherd no one wants to bother us. They come up if they like dogs. Most people with their smaller dogs also don't want to say hi. Good for me but not so good for Luther who likes all but he has this bark that scares most away.

Jean I guess we are getting your storm. Glad you did not get much. Today on local sports they say that pictures and catchers are report for spring training next week. Yea!

Waving hi to Rae!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Had a busy day yesterday (of course LOL, when don't I???). I brought in some bags of clothes to VV yesterday morning and came home with a big bag of mostly spring stuff. At lunch time I went to the other VV that is about 10 minutes away and brought a few bags there too. I got another big bag of clothes there too. I can't believe how much La Vie En Rose stuff I have found (not sure if this is only a Canadian store, which is my favorite pajama store and is a bit pricey) I bought a few LVER pajama tops and hoodies on the Boxing Day sale at the mall and now I wish I hadn't wasted my money b/c I'm finding the same stuff at VV for just a couple of dollars. They put the pajama hoodies in the exercise/workout clothing section and the pajama tops in with tshirts, so I've learned to browse those sections for pajamas now. I've managed to find quite a few of their hoodies and tops this last month or so. So....my clothing karma continues :) At the cashier, as she was admiring my purchases, we chatted about my weight loss and the lady behind me in line started asking questions too. So after paying, we went outside for about 20 min, so I could give her the basics of low carb, then gave her my phone and email so she can text/email me after she reads a bit about it. We'll meet up for coffee sometime in the next couple of weeks to discuss again. I enjoy informing others of the LC way of life. Its so satisfying to think that I might in some small way improve someones well-being, make them healthier and happier.

Got lots of work done, still have lots to do, and am grateful for it b/c Monday is a holiday for us and there won't be any work coming in that day so this extra makes up for it. I won't lose any money this pay period.

Taz is gone to daycare. He really needed it. The weather here has been terrible so we haven't been outdoors as much as we usually are and he was getting a bit antsy yesterday. He was flying thru the house flinging toys around and pouncing on me, wanting to play all the time and of course....how can I not? D laughs at me, says I am a sucker for him, never saying not to playtime LOL. Often though we only play for five minutes or so and then I go back to work, distracting him with a treat. I think he has me well trained :)

Chris - weird about the smell but not entirely surprising as Lyme affects so many things in your body. Hope the headache doesn't get too bad.

Trudy - I can't really say much about your G not going to the doctor. I'm like that too LOL. I always think it'll get better, then it doesn't so I eventually go and by then its so much worse. That is just ridiculous about the insurance. Glad you didn't pay and hope the finger improves so you don't have to go back.

Nancy - yes, Luther being a big dog would intimidate some owners and dogs. Taz doesn't care about size but he gets wary when they bark at him. He has a hard time understanding friendly dog barking. What was in your steak sauce you made? I just saw a show about pan fried steak and glazing with a butter sauce to finish it the cooking. I'm going to try that. I don't use a lot of steak sauce b/c of the sugar content so need other ways to add moisture/flavor to it. Steak isn't one of my fave foods so need to jazz it up a bit to enjoy it more.

Felis - how terrible to have the drunken fool throwing firecrackers in the park. That would be my worse nightmare b/c Taz is deathly afraid of that kind of noise and if he was off leash and someone threw one close to him he would totally freak out. It would traumatize him so much. He's been that way since we brought him home as a pup, loud sharp bangs like that terrify him.

Jean - hope you don't get too much snow. We haven't gotten any this year, other than a dusting of it for a few hours. What a difference from last year. I have to say, as much as I like the look of snow, I don't mind not having to shovel or not be able to drive b/c of it.

I'm grabbing another coffee, am getting to work and hope to get lots done today. Hope you all have a great day.

Morning ladies... I was up very early and took DH to the hospital for his MRI this morning. He is still not feeling very well at all, but said if I had to wheel him in there in a wheelchair, he was not missing this scan!! It was a long wait to have it finally done and he was not about to rebook it and wait another 6 months or more. So now that is done and we hope to have the results within a few days. Both of his knees are shot and I am guessing the next step will be knee replacements?? I also am making an appt. for him to see the Dr. today, he finally admits this is not going to get better on its own, he needs meds! Sheesh!!

Chris - I was thinking of you when I stomped out of my appt yesterday LOL. I thought I bet Chris can totally relate to my frustration!! But maybe you would have calmed me down and talked me into staying to have the exam? Hope that school is cancelled for Cait today also, it would suck to have her just get there and then have to turn around and come all the way home again! Sure hope that the new pain killer does the trick for your headache and without any adverse reaction to it!! You have been a scrapping fool lately, so nice to see you get your mojo back! Take it easy today my friend and keep warm!

Nancy - Sorry that your Devils did not show up for the game! Yes the officiating is totally awful and they seem to pick on team and never are the penalties evenly disbursed ! So frustrating!! :frusty: Nice to know that you will be cheering for the Bruins, keep your fingers crossed that they win this one against those darn Rangers! Another amazing Blue Apron meal for you! I just love steak and if there is a good sauce to go with it, then I would be in heaven!! Enjoy your time at Panera tonight!

Felis - Yikes how scary for you, but good thing you got to where there were more people so you could feel more safe! Is your dog quite large? Does she/he protect you from strangers? I hope that you are having a much better day today! (I suppose it is nighttime for you though) perhaps you are sleeping  by now.

Jean - How did your meeting go yesterday? Sorry to hear that you have gotten more snow, will this winter ever end for you? I was watching the news last night and Victoria has cherry blossoms on the trees already. Too early I am sure, so hopefully they don't get a blast of winter again that will kill off the trees!

:hello: Rae Hope that everything is fine with you! Are you bogged down with work again today?

Better get some breakfast for myself, DH is sipping on my homemade Bone Broth, its about all he can handle. Time to call the Dr. and make an appt for him, hopefully he doesn't have to wait to get in. Have a good Wednesday everyone. guess I won't be hiking today :mmph:

Yes, Trudy.....we cross posted today. Glad your G is going for the scan and the doctor about his throat. Sucks about possible knee replacement surgery but hopefully the end of pain. D's knees bother him too but he isn't bad enough for treatment or surgery yet. Unfortunately, he isn't really interested in getting any weight off which would might help somewhat but unfortunately I can't make him....grrrr. Wish I could.

If your weather is like ours, missing out on your hike today won't be a big deal (its been raining non-stop since yesterday).

:jaw: Who are you and what you did with the real Chris?! I can't believe that is possible hear this from her! :pound: :smow:

Hello girls,
I'm excited today! I considering from a while to try new photo editing program that friend recommended me, because mine doesn't have layers which makes proces of using of brush and masks very slow. So this morning I finally decided to give it try. I was worried how existence of two programs will affect the speed of my computer, but for now I don't see difference, which is great! It's boring that I'll have to learn the basic from the beginning, this is something that always make me nervous. I like to watch the tutorials wich improves my skill and receive new ideas, but hate this first period when don't know what actualy do. I spend a lot time this morning to try the brushes and hope at the weekend already to can make the Creative Technique challenge! I saw that Joanne have new challenge too, Yey!

I hope that snow is coming and Cait is received her free from school day! Also that it was been funny day! And that her mom wasn't kidnapped and replaced from cyborg polar bear! Hmmm, when I thinking more I start to feel that actually Caitlin would love to have a bear at home!

Nancy, I hope you have snow and good walk! Have a fun at Panera's! I remember that last time you share that your friend is difficult period, so hope that she is resolve her problems!

Rae, yey, your shopping sounds awesome! I sleep mostly with t-shirts and yoga pants, but have some wonderful pajama models that like. I'm not familiar with this brand, but sounds exciting to find brand that you like! I'm not surprised you inspire other to healthier life, when they see how good you looks and feels! I do that all the time, stop and play in days when I'm most occupied! Minds just needs a break. Oh, I thought exactly how my bigger dog is scared and hate these noises. Good that the smaller do not get upset, and I was more frightened by both of us. But later we hear at the news that yesterday few policeman from my town was been attack by drunk people, so I'm not exaggerating the risk like my sister try to convince me.

Trudy, hope the results of your husbands are good! Surgery sounds scares, I hope they can find other decision, like these magnet magnetic knee wraps or so! No, we have two dogs, this who bring on a walks Tiny is my moms chihuahua girl. The second one, my Biggie, is the huge Bulgarian sheepdog. I don't bring him on walks, because is too big for me, he is dog for yard.

Jean, lovely weekly page! Hope you have a good day and snow don't make troubles! Did the webcam of the hedgehog on library start to work?

Prediction was for lots of snow early this morning, but we only got a little more. Even so, DH cancelled this morning's bird survey which is good as he has a cold or something now. He doesn't feel that bad but sounds congested. Fingers crossed I don't get anything! Meeting was fine but as the people trying to run the group, we have things to discuss and deal with.

Felis, sorry you and Tiny had that unpleasant encounter. Drunks are not reliable folks and that one was showing his ugliness for sure. Sure hope you've had a better Wednesday.

Chris, sounds like your weather will be crazy if it includes snow and rain. It's wonderful that you've been scrapping and doing those lovely pages. Hope the headache isn't so bad you have to take the other med. Also hope you can take it easy today. Your Gary and Trudy's both need something to get them better about medical treatment. Though in your case, he must get so overwhelmed by it all but not react in the way you do of doggedly pursuing answers. I know sometimes we just don't want any more bad news.

Nancy, phooey on that game and the refs. The Devils were doing so well recently. Glad you got Luther out when it was just snow. Has it turned to rain or ice? I don't often go to Panera's, but a friend got me turned on to their baked potato soup. Not a great idea maybe, but so good. Yes, pitchers and catchers for the Indians report next Wed., the 14th. But now we're going to get the winter Olympics.

Rae, there you go again with the shopping karma. What a lot of goodies for spring. Good you can see the balance of having extra work now to offset a holiday coming up. It sounds like Taz may have you trained to play, but it also sounds like you enjoy it too.

Trudy, oh boy, getting that man medical treatment shouldn't be so difficult! Hope he got to a Dr. today. If his knees are that painful, replacement makes some people so happy when the pain is gone. Does he have the patience to really do rehab properly? Cherry blossoms in Victoria? That just doesn't seem right. At least looking out my windows at the snow it doesn't.

Wishing all a happy day.

Felis, we cross posted! The new photo editing program sounds exciting but I know learning it is lots of time and effort. Love what you said about Chris's comment on snow - and Cait and a bear.

And the webcam of the hedgehog is working: https://heightslibrary.org/quillcam/. But I have yet to see him as he sleeps hidden from view during the day.

Good morning, Jean! Oh, I wasn't saw on time that we are cross posted. Love when this happened, because its mean we are thinking for the same and been on same place at the same time! Thank you for the link! Your nights are my mornings, so I maybe will can see the hedgehog when the lights turns off and he become active. Actually I'm away from the computer mostly in the mornings, but I'll catch it in the weekend probably!
Yep, he is one of these decorative kinds, which Chris soon will have ;) .
It's different that the wild one which come in my yard. He is so much bigger and walk around really huge territory. Or I suppose that he comes from the near fields. My dad have a theory that he live in my neighbors house, because they don't have dog. Instead of eating bugs like is told on the site for the smaller, the big one eat eggs, snakes, snails and et. My geranium is full of snails and I'm not happy when he comes for them, but then he found the cat food which distract him. I knew that is not good to give him cat foot because can become too fat, but maybe this affects only the wild kind. Actually we are saw him only few times, when dog start barking at night. Once I takes a photos of it, and I was promised to SoMa to make a layout when I won their kit "Hedgehog In The Garden", but I'm never told that this will happen soon, ouch, sorry! Oh, I remember once on his quills has put few morello cherry fruits, exactly like in children book! I'm not sure do he was collect them to eat at home, or just is been fall asleep under the tree and they are put on it accidentally, but he was so sweet! Unfortunately he has disappeared till I come back with the camera.
Oh, sorry I gone to chatty about that!

Have a lovely Thursday you all! I'll come back with the daily post (much) later! :cof3:
