Good morning, happy Wednesday and welcome to February!

Can I try to be optimistic *this* month? I tried really hard in the beginning of Jan. but lost that by the end.
I am so darn tired of everything breaking and for no apparent reason. Yesterday it was our printer. It worked fine one minute and then stopped the next. It isn't the printer itself, but the paper feed tray. Gary tried taking it apart, there was a spring loose, but after fixing it, it still won't grab the paper. And then I got our electric bill which doesn't have the Heating Assistance applied. I know we are in the program because I got a small check to put towards our oil bill. Why it didn't go through for a second month for electric is beyond me. And the point of the assistance is that I can't afford a $300+/month electric bill. Guess who I am calling today? And I also have to call my Breast Surgeon's office *again.* I called last week and they told me the mammo Rx was in the mail. I should have had it days ago. It isn't like I *want* to get my mammo done so why is the Universe making it harder? :rollpin:

That is how my January wrapped up so it might be a bit of a struggle to get out of that funk this month, but you know me, I will give it my best shot.

It snowed quite a bit yesterday which was unexpected. We were supposed to only get a dusting and we got more than that. Caitlyn had to drive home in it and I was nervous for her, she hadn't driven in the snow at all and she has to travel on some windy roads in the mountains. But she did good, said she slid a few times but was ok. Whew! That is one big test, the first time your kid drives in snow alone.

I was really happy about was dinner last night. It was yummy- lasagne and stuffed garlic bread. The whole family loved it which was an extra bonus.

Have a super day and month!!!

Nancy- oh wow, that sounds horrible for your DH and his tooth. I hope the meds are kicking in for the infection and the dentist sees him soon. You all have not had good luck either. Did you get more snow than you expected too?
Jaida did not want to come in from outside, she loves the snow. She will catch snowballs and carry them around until they melt. You know how pit bulls are with their vicious jaws. ;)
Is your DS's dog training every day? You are one heck of a mom!

BFF's dad came through the surgery fine although he was still very disoriented for several hours after. I hope he is doing better today. I told BFF that I wouldn't bug her with 100s of questions for a few days, since she probably doesn't have any real answers yet.

Trudy- What a sad story. That is insane how many tragedies they have dealt with. It sure puts my printer issues in perspective. Sending good thoughts to that family, what is left of it :( :(
I hope swimming helped you feel better.

(I just ran more right now than I have in years- I heard the Recycling Truck down the street and we had 3 full cans to go to the curb. I ran back and forth in the snow but made it just as the pulled up to the house next door. Running with POTS-- not good! I almost passed out when I got back inside.)

Rae- ugh about the photos! We you ever able to get it fixed?
How was your day with being back at work?

Jean- I hope to never get shingles, it sounds horrific! Nice to see you pop in!

Chris, I hope being optimistic for February works. I also hope you get things resolved so it's easier to be optimistic.

For February, I really want to take more pictures. I can't believe how few I took in January.

good morning - well yesterday was interesting to say the least. It snowed maybe we got maybe an inch. It is pretty and did not make my driving the puppies around stressful as it was all melting on the roads. My DH was home again with his tooth. But he is back to work this day so that is good. He had Luther out for a good walk so that is good. Then as I am sitting after dinner my son txts me that he has been in an accident. That kid has no luck with cars. He was in the outer of two lanes turning left and the inner guy turned way wide and side wiped his back tire well panel. Well the guy is from PA and while he had insurance and registration he had no license. And he did it in front of a policeman who was directing traffic. So I had to spend a lot of the night reporting the claim. Of course if falls to me as I am the car owner. But my son had all the info from the police and he also took photos so that is good. Now of course if finding the time and place to get the repair done. I had a deductible of course so I will want my money back. And I am sure that will take a while. But the day ended on a great note as my Devils defeated the Redwings 4-3. And they held off the Wings in a last two min power play. And my goalie looked really good. Now if they can learn to win at home.

Chris so glad that Cait drove home safely. Glad that she had the chance to drive to give her confidence. Sorry about the printer! Such a pain when things start breaking! Hope it works soon! Glad about the news for your BBF's father.

Trudy OMgosh that is such a sad story! And the grandmother is so young and her with cancer. It is tragic! Hope the swimming helped.

Rae ugg about LR. I am still getting stuff organized so I can use LR. I just have to get my solid state external hard drive to put all my photos so I can then load them into light room. What a chore when all I really want to do is just scrap LOL. Hope work comes slowly as you back into work mode!

Cindy hope you have a great February taking photos!

Have a great day all.

Morning O-zies!! I am in a much better place today! Swimming helped and today I will be going on my hike. The sun is going to be out in full force and so I really hope to get some nice pictures today! We are headed out to a little place called Honeymoon Bay to walk the Park out there. I haven't been there for years so it will be a great hike for me! Then I need to get home and buy a cake mix so I can bake DH's birthday cake. It is his Birthday tomorrow (ground hog day). My oldest brother's birthday today, so I need to give him a phone call later on also. He is celebrating his 81st birthday today.

Chris - How awful that you had to end January on such a sour note!! January is typically the hardest month to get through and you made it!! Hooray!! Please keep your wonderful determination going for the month of February, remember that we are here for you and if we could we would give the electric company a kick in the pants for you!!

WTG Cait for driving well in the snow for her very first time! She will be a seasoned driver soon and you won't have to worry about her so much. (well that will never happen we always worry!!) Glad to hear that your Bff's dad made it through his surgery ok, boy he must be one tough guy!! I would love to have seen you running your recycle cans out to the street this morning :becky: Were you in your Pj's?? :pound: Catch your breath and have another cup of coffee :cof3: you will feel better in no time!

Cindy - Nice to see you here this morning! Like you I need to take more pictures this month, lets hope we can get that accomplished!

Ok I have to get my lunch packed for my hike today, I hope that you all have a fabulous Wednesday! I really hope to get some pages done for the challenges over the next few days! Do something fun today!!

 Hi Nancy we cross posted, that doesn't happen too often. Ohh no your poor son and his car troubles!! Nice that he was not hurt and it was just the tire well panel that got the damage!
How do people have the nerve to drive around without a licence?? Glad to hear that your DH is doing better with his tooth today, I sure hope he can get it fixed up soon! Yes I am in a much better mood today and the swimming really did help! I can get into a zen place when I swim. I saw that your Devils did well last night, they have the same trouble as the Bruins and can't win at home games! What is up with that?? :noidea: Hope you and Luther have a great afternoon!

Good morning, ladies. Just popping in quickly to say good morning. I overslept this morning which is probably good but it's a busy day so have to get a move on. I'm back to my regular work hours now. It was difficult to focus yesterday. I was getting used to puttering around the house and doing other things. Now I have to get used to sitting at the computer again for hours, getting the work done, not taking so many breaks.

Got my new monitor last night. I loved my old HP monitor (about 4 yrs old) which in computer terms is ancient :) It is starting to make a bit of crackling noise here and there which I've been told means its time to replace it. So I got lucky. A used computer place a few blocks away has monitors. I popped over to see what he had before going to Best Buy. He had a new (still sealed in the box) higher quality HP than my old one and a few inches bigger. I got it for $175. Yay. I love it. Today is work and CT stuff. Not a crazy day, but busy.

Chris - hugs. You always have to deal with some gov't or medical issue. I don't know how you manage to not be stark raving mad (or are you...hmmmm) :)

Trudy - have a wonderful hike. Clear skies but cold today. Hope you get some good pics. I had a dream about taking photos last night. I had a small camera that was just a square, about 3 inches big, and it took awesome pics LOL. Don't know why the heck I dreamed that.

Nancy - so sorry to hear of your son's accident. Glad he's ok but sucks about the car.

Cindy - me too, I am itching to get out there and have a photo walk this month.

Gotta go ladies. Need to dress and get the garbage cans out to the curb and then grab another coffee before starting work. Have a great day, everyone.

Hello O's A long day for me. My dd and I drove 3 hours to see my dad at the home and we had a quarterly meeting to talk about his progress (he has alzhiemiers) and that meeting went well, but the drive back with traffic was 1 hour longer (7 hours on the road), so we were all tired of dealing with traffic. (No one in the family believed me when I told them that a 15 min meeting would turn into a traffic nightmare!)

Today would have been my parents 68 year anniversary, but mom died years ago.... and today is the 1 year anniversary of the death of our beloved dog Marcus, who died at 15 3/4 years...but now I have 2 more rescues who need my love alot and were not happy I was gone from home so long today!!!!

I will check in tomorrow!
