I GOOOOOOOT this!!!
Another mixed bag of stuff going on in my head again. The good news is that my anti-anxiety meds are ready to be picked up at the pharmacy, Yeeehaw! Think I need them? I am supposed to take between 1-2 twice a day and I usually only take 1. I could have used that second one in the last couple of days. o_O;)

I found an almond recipe yesterday and the crumbs tasted good so *fingers crossed they go over well.* It seemed like it was a basic recipe, I saw a lot of similar versions on the cooking blogs. Butter/sugar/almond extract/flour base. Sliced almonds pressed on top and then an almond-flavored glaze on over all of it. One of the reviews said the texture was bland. Since the recipe fit into two 13x9 pans, I ground up some almonds really fine and added that to the second batch of dough. We'll see!
I also finished up all of the shower gels and got them labeled, they just need some pretty ribbons to jazz them up.

I'm running around again today. Picking up my groceries and my meds (another yeehaw to that! I know my family is going to be happy too). Paying some bills (ugh), cleaning for my friend- wish me "safe toes" please. When I am in a distracted state I tend to get a little clumsy(er). Then (oh joy!) I get to help my mom finish her online shopping. This is fun because we will both search Amazon together but she doesn't understand that her "Third Item on the Left" isn't always the same as mine. I say fun but you all know I don't actually mean fun as in ha-ha fun. LOL

On that note-- I am going to post this before my electricity starts wigging out again. Yes, still happening, and still getting the beeeep beeep beeeep which is now triggering me as much as my dogs. The electric co is coming at some point today to take a look at the lines/poles. Better to get that checked out before the snow/sleet that is coming through tomorrow and Friday

Yup. I am just dandy

Yeehaw

PS: No. I would never say yeehaw in real life in case you are wondering.

@LSlycord That definitely would feel a bit weird not having it cold for Christmas-- but boy I would love it. The Meritt Island trip sounds amazing! Are you far enough away from the alligators???
My heart just melted when you said Shaun acts as your protector. What a good mom you are, passing all of the best things to him and Syd, ♥
Just a few more hours and Syd will be home, I can feel your joy all the way up here!
LOL-- my kids are getting car safety gadgets. Seatbelt cutter/glass breakers. They are all the rage, right behind battery chargers *G*

@BrightEyes So glad that the snow missed you. Some days ya just need a PJ day. Or two. Or three... :D

@bcgal00 I am sending you good buying and selling vibes for the camera. I bet the lens weight makes a huge difference when you are hiking as much as you are. I see how careful Scott is when he packs his backpack, every ounce matters when you are covering those distances.

@vickyday Glad you found your way out of the Pixabay rabbit hole. I told my MIL maybe some of the chunky yarns would be fun to work with. I have some cotton ones left over from when I was making washcloths and face scrubbies. And plenty of worsted. It wil be nice to have a surprise.
Hope that you feel better and slept better too

@scrap-genie You have been super-busy too. It has to be so satisfying to have that part of your family history all coming together.
haha, you would think that after these years of anxiety and obsessions, esp this time of year, I would find a better way to deal with it, right? At least I can laugh at myself. :D What a sweet little rat, I hope that the evil cat snuggles with her very gently. hehe

@Cherylndesigns Where did you find those trees? That is pretty much how I feel LOL

Hugs to everyone!

Good morning. Yes, just a few more hours until Syd makes it home. I still have two more gifts to wrap and then I'm done! So that's what I will accomplish this morning. I checked with my niece about my ideas for gifts for the boys and she thought they would like them. Then I checked with my niece-in-law about a gift for my great-niece and she thought it was something that Waverleigh would like so I really am close to being done. Except for the Christmas dinner. Need to discuss the menu when the kids are both home.

@faerywings I am glad that you can pick up your meds today. I always hate it when I realize it is time to get a refill on something and then realize that the bottle says that I'm out of meds and the pharmacy will need to call for a refill. The doctors that I have right now seem to be on top of it...but there have been some glitches in the past.

@bcgal00 when I started reading that you were selling your camera equipment, I almost went into shock. Fortunately I kept reading and I completely understand about the need for a lighter camera/lens package. It sounds like you may have a really good solution figured out. I would love to have a mirrorless camera but I can't justify it right now. But if I were half as good at photography as you are, I'd get one. My fingers are crossed that all of the details work out!

@BrightEyes I'm sorry that I have given you the car "bug" but I understand what you are saying. Shaun's Jeep is 10 years old and I'm sure it will also need to be replaced in the not too distant future. Glad that you escaped the snow for now.

@vickyday I sure hope last night's sleep was better than the previous night. It must have been awful for you to not feel like driving the widow ladies.

@scrap-genie I love that you have written a family history that begins with your 4th great grandfather. I've got all of my 2nd great grandparents identified and solid. I have a few of my 3rd great grandparents and I've got a couple of folks that I believe are 4th great grandparents but I need to dig in and prove it.

@Cherylndesigns no stress here....at least not for the next hour or so!

Boy, am I late this morning! Slept in until 8AM! Decided to get dressed early while waiting for the coffee to be ready. And the 1st cup of coffee is gone!!! I inhaled it... :p :) BRB after I get a second up......

Seems strange to not be working on or posting LOs for challenges today. I see that Barbara posted a Member's Hosted challenge today. It will be fun to see what happens with them. I started the laundry - hope to have it all done today. Tomorrow is the day to run a few errands. Then I plan on staying home until after Christmas... have no desire to be out in the madness at the stores next week.

Sorry there are no personals but the hand is tingling already this morning. CYL

Good morning ladies. A quick hello as I have a few things to do before heading out for a drive up to the ski resort with the pups. They are going to love playing in the snow up there. It is cold there, 13 F, so too cold for Taz's old bones but we'll bring the pups. They are going to love it.

No word on the camera yet so the fellow probably has to wait until the end of the month before he can sell. I don't mind waiting, I just hope no one else comes along and offers more money in the meantime. But if not, I'll get something else. I'm bring my sony rx10 iv and take photos. I need to decide whether to keep this or not when I start selling everything. I will use it today and that will give me a pretty good idea of whether I feel I need to hang onto it or not.

Looking forward to getting some pics of the pups playing in the snow. Gotta go. Back this afternoon. HAGD

Morning all.

Well, we just had a Daisy and Lila chase. Chuck went outside and didn't get the door closed and when I went out to the kitchen, I knew they were gone. Linda @LSlycord you asked me the other day if I had to tie Bailey up when she went out to potty. I forgot to answer you, but remembered when these two rascals got out. Daisy is our only "runner"! Of course, she's the instigator for Lila, so Lila followed her. Chuck whistled and called, then got in the car and found them. Daisy has been a runner since she was a little pup. She's THE best dog except when she gets loose and then bye bye. Anyway, they're back home.

Chris @faerywings you got this girl! Just keep telling yourself that. YOU GOT THIS.

Key @BrightEyes you slept in so late this morning. That has to feel great! I got up early - about 9 AM. LOL That's early for me. I prefer 10.

Linda @LSlycord enjoy the calm before the storm. It will be fun, though. I totally agree - it never seems like Thanksgiving or Christmas when you live in FL. No matter how much I decorated, it just didn't. I finally hung twinkle lights all over the lanai and that helped.

I'm so happy to see that we added a new member's challenges forum - I'm going to go look at Barbara's first challenge. That was a great idea that she came up with last night! I know what she's doing unless she changed her mind and it sounded like fun.

Happy Wednesday all.

Good afternoon,
Still struggling with sleep issues. DH always texts me at 10 am from work. No reply from me. He then called when I hadn't responded in 30 minutes. Still no reply from me. When he hadn't heard from me by 11 he left work to come and check on me (he is 5 minutes away). I was still in bed. He asked if I was OK. I told him I guess I felt OK other than being tired (and the background headache that is always there). So he ate lunch while he was here and then headed back to work. I made myself some coffee and here I sit, trying to wake up!

Today I need to carry some things out to my she shed. Maybe that will wake me up and the huffing and puffing from climbing the steps will help me to sleep tonight, LOL!

Have a good afternoon!

Been MIA due to life. Had toothache during the weekend, managed to get a dentist appointment on Monday, fixed the teeth. Dentist is shi**y expensive in Sweden, cuz of course you need the extra torture!

Woke up Tuesday, the filling was killing me. Not sure what it was, it was like the teeth were "pushing eachother". Went back to the dentist and he fixed it.

Woke up Wednesday, stressed cuz I was working 9.30 to 6. Pain again! But luckily I think it was only because my jaws where exhausted after the torture. I have the worlds tiniest mouth, and it's really hard to open wide for the dentist. I just worked my shift, ate pain killers, and tried to be nice to people.

Woke up today. Pain! In my ear! I've had pain in my ear all this time, but thought it sort of was part of the toothache. Maybe it is? Like some sort of infection has spread or something? I don't know how this works. Got a Drs appointment tomorrow.

Oh, and to make things even better, we've had around -20°C all the time. That's about -4°F. Wanna come and visit Sweden? House is cold as sh*t. I'm fully dressed, under the covers upstairs in bed, cuz it's warmer upstairs. I really need to scrap (doing a daily page project for December and are days behind now!) but I'm freezing to death downstairs. To lazy to bring up the puter.

Grumpy!

So far .... this week has been great. Can't wait to see what the weekend brings.

Oh, the yarn question. Forgot. I don't know much about brands if yarn in the US, probably not much of a help. I'm sort of a fan of acrylic yarn, mainly because some wool yarns can make me sneeze while knitting.

I prefer Fingering, DK, Worsted weight and Aran. Thicker yarns can be quick to use, but I find thicker needles harder to work with.

Saw a video on Youtube a while back, on tips for knitting when on a budget. She recommended fingering, cuz basically yarn is priced by weight. Skeins often weigh about the same. However, the thinner the yarn, the more yardage you get. And the more yardage you get, the longer time the yarn will last. Not sure I explained that well? Anyway, thin yarn give you more knitting/crocheting time per skein.

Guess it depends really on what you want to make. I find that more and more American patterns tend to be for worsted weight (cuz everything's big in America), while European patterns lean more towards fingering yarn.

As I said. I'm not of much help. Just rambling. LOL
