Happy Hump Day!!!! I have to keep telling myself that it is Wednesday because it really feels more like Thursday. But at this point in my life, I need every last day/minute that I can get. ;)

I got lots done yesterday. Nothing major, but chipping away at things. I went food shopping and came back with a few things for dinner. Gary is making homemade pizzas tonight and that is always really good. Delicious *and* I don't have to cook.
I hit TJ Maxx- I love that we have one in town. I got parts of gifts for my BFF and my brother and SIL. That was really good!!! I went to the library only to find that I put the wrong book on hold, I needed #2 and ordered #3. :eek:hwell: But then I went to Walgreen's to pick up the package there and saw there photo gift display. I made a calendar for my mom through there in the afternoon. For $5!!!!! They were half price and I can pick it up today. Bam!!! Then the kicker- my brought up Chinese food for Gary and me for dinner. :whoo: There aren't any good Chinese restaurants here so that was a treat.

Today I am cleaning at my neighbor's in the afternoon so this morning I will probably work a bit more on the basket orders.

Here is to a wonderful Wednesday!

Good morning, girls!
Quick jump to say hello, and will catch all happening tonight, because today I'm on a rush.
Today we celebrate St. Nicholas day. That's mean that for dinner have to be fish. Traditionally it must be carp, but my family is not big fan of it, so will choose another fish. Yes me too (I have principes, most of the time) . Isn't a strange how many pagan rituals are found way to continued in the christian traditions?!
Traditionally for my family is also that on this day we put the Christmas decoration on. Actually me and my sister will decorate our home. And later this week I'll put some toys at the cat's house too, because they will take off most of them till Christmas so I don't hurry much.
With my previous dogs we decorated one little Thuja tree in my yard, but now the big dog pee on it, so the tree isn't in good condition this year. Traditions are not what they was, I guess  .

I'm not sure do you celebrate today or this is only european, but I hope to have one good and festive day! I Will come back later for personal notes to you all.

Nancy- good for you for getting that scanner! It sounds fantastic! I know what you mean about trying to find a folder like that. I have a partitioned Hard Drive and I save my photos to my F Drive. When I got my scanner a couple of years ago, it was saving them to the Pictures folder on my C Drive. It took me forever to figure out where they were. Glad t didn't take you too long for that.
Your dinner sounds so good! I am always so jealous! :hungry:
How was the Watch Party? Lots of cheering hopefully.

Jean- bet you enjoyed your Chinese food as much as I did mine, probably even more since you had your genealogy friends with you.

Rae- Like Nancy said, we are warm(ish) here on the East Coast. I wasn't as warm as her, we only got to 50* but it is so weird that you are much colder than us. I wouldn't love it but I am happy that you do.

Trudy- how exciting to be putting the final touches on Heather's trip out!! That is actually brilliant for her to do the food shopping online and then you only have to pick it up. I would never have thought of that. You raised a smart lady!
You were so productive! That is an incredible amount of stuff that you accomplished. Have a great time on your hike and clear your mind.

Felis- I am sending you hugs and good thoughts to you. And since I have plenty of puppy kisses, they are also coming your way.
I hate that kind of weather, cold and dreary. Hope that your Quince is ripe enough to make your tea.
I did have Shutterfly coupons, I have a $20 off and a 40% off and it was still so darn expensive. I forgot about PhotoBox but am happy that I was able to go through Walgreen's.
Oh yeah, I am wondering about the girl your DS met too, Nancy.

xoxoxo!

Happy St Nicholas Day, Felis! I know what you mean about the fish and that you have to eat it. LOL I don't eat pork, but my MIL makes really good sausage stuffing for Thanksgiving and I have to eat it. Yum.
Enjoy your day and I am glad that you seem to be feeling a bit better today.

Morning O-zies! I am up very early again today, but so much to do still. I now need to get a hold of our insurance and try to get the car in for repair as some jerk hit our vehicle the other night. We were out for dinner for one of DH's Christmas Parties and while our car was parked in a parking lot, some A-hole put a huge dent in the front fender. REALLY?? Who does that and just leaves?? We did not even know it happened until I went to get into the car yesterday morning to go swimming :gaah: Another thing to deal with!! So I don't think I will be doing the hike today  It is quite a drive to get there and then a three hour hike, which I am sure is going to be beautiful, but it will take all day and I have way to much to still do around here. Oh well, we will do this hike again one day I am sure. So I will grab another cup of coffee and get on with the day. Making soup, wrapping a few more gifts, getting a couple of meals made and put into the freezer. I also need to go get some ribbon for wrapping and a few groceries to pick up before I can start all this cooking. Yup a busy day for me. DH has another Christmas Party after work, which I am not invited to (thank goodness) so only my self to worry about for dinner tonight.

Chris - Woo hoo on the great price for the calendar! Staples had a special like that on the other day, but of course not for my calendar sizes LOL But I did do one to give to my brother with all of our hike pictures and one for DH that he will use to keep track of his wine kits, they were only $6 each. I have been the same with getting things done, seems like just a bit a time, but hope to buckle down and get lots accomplished today. Last night DH and I moved our 2nd fridge that is downstairs into the laundry room so that we will not have to disturb Heather and Jonah every time we need to get something out of that fridge. Of course the doorway going from the suite to the hallway is too small for the fridge to fit through so we had to get a dolly and take it outside and then go through the garage and into the laundry room, sheesh what a PITA! But it is done and it will be much more convenient! Now we have to figure out how to fit the crib into the room that they will be sleeping in LOL, it will be interesting! Sorry that you put the wrong book on hold, hope that you don't have to wait too long for the one you want! Yes my DD is a smarty!! I would never have thought to do that shopping on line either. I hope that you get to work on your baskets today and that the cleaning job goes quickly!

Felis - Happy St. Nicolas Day! I hope you have a wonderful time! No we do not celebrate this day here in Canada well at least our family does not. I am sure that there are some others that probably do though, so many different cultures and religions here. I would not like the meal that you are to eat today as I am not a fish lover. The only fish I like is Halibut.

Ok ladies I will pop in again later and catch up with the rest of you, but right now I need to grab another coffee and get to the store. Have a great morning!

good morning - a quick hello as I have walked Luther, showered and now about to leave for the dentist. It is just a cleaning but not my favorite until it is all done. Then to shop for a space heater as mine has died as my DH knocked it to the floor and it seems to short not good for heating. Then some gifts for Luther. But just wanted to say my Devils remembered how to play and defeated the Blue Jackets 4-1. It was awesome. The watch party was fun and Charles feels a bit of a loner as it is really an older crowd. And yes the young woman my son met could have come but she was busy. The food was awesome. My son of course went back for seconds. I made sugar cookies and I love the Pillsbury dough so that is what I brought. The drive was not fun as it was windy and rainy on busy NJ highways that are not the best but my son did a great job. LOL love having a driver. Tonight is out to Panera's with my girlfriend. That will be fun. Spent a lot of time with the scanner and it is so awesome. I have had all these photos from our trip to China way back in 1996 and I have so wanted to scrap them and now I can. But I can see that this is something that will take time from scrapping so I may just designate one day a week for scanning.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning, ladies. It sure was foggy and cold out this morning, on the drive over to the doggie daycare. I hope to get lots done around the house today. Got chickened thawed out to BBQ and put into a big salad for dinner. Yesterday afternoon the guy came with D's chair and he explained how he really worked at re-enforcing everything so it should last a long time. He is such a nice fellow. He had been here 3 times so Taz remembered him and was racing and jumping around him, wanting to play. We somehow got onto the subject of food and turns out he follows a paleo/low carb kind of diet and we spent about 2 hrs chatting about it all. He gave me his card b/c he does cabinetry and woodworking on the side so we'll call him if we ever need something done. I sat in D's chair to try it out and decided I liked it so I told D I'd be happy to take his chair if he decides he wants a new one that molds to his body better and if not, then I'll be looking for a new chair for me at some point, either new (on sale) or craigs list if it isn't too old. My recliner won't stay reclined as my upper body weight isn't enough to keep it back, it keeps sliding back up. D sat in it and it stays reclined for him but its not plush enough for him to want to trade me (darn it LOL).

Got tickets last night for a big Xmas display event on Fri night, for me, D and Jen. Should be fun. The weather will be cold and clear. I was lucky b/c Sat was sold out, Sun they are closed and Fri only had a few tickets left. I would have been so disappointed had I been too late for tickets b/c the next wkend is forecasting rain and then there is only one more wkend before Xmas (yikes...how does that happen LOL). None of us have seen "Glow" before so we're all excited.

Chris - yay for getting a better deal on the calendar. Chinese food sounds good. I haven't had any for quite some time b/c of the sugar that is in it. I really need to find some good recipes to make some of it at home. I miss it.

Nancy - glad you are enjoying your scanner. Enjoy your dinner out. Looking forward to seeing your old photos scrapped.

Trudy - glad you could order your groceries online (I've never done that before either). That really sucks about your car. Sounds like things are coming together, getting organized for your family's visit. What a wonderful Xmas you will have.

Felis - enjoy St. Nicholas Day and loved hearing of your pets decorations.

Jean - hope you are well.

I'm getting to work now. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

We're off soon to an appt. 45 minutes away. Tonight will be bird club. Still working on the book. Just dragging in this portion.

Chris, you are getting lots done, so that is good. Hope you don't overdo what with the cleaning today. Yes, the Chinese was good, at least mine. DH did the buffet as we've been doing for a while, but thought everything too bland. I tried something different that I really liked. Always fun with the rest of the group.

Felis, Happy St. Nicolaus Day! I know of it more through study of Spanish but am vague on the traditions associated with it, just remember putting out food for the camels. Decorating will be nice and maybe put everyone in the holiday spirit.

Trudy, sorry you're having to cancel the hike. But it does sound like you have too much to do. Enjoy dinner alone as you aren't going to have a minute to yourself for a while. But you'll love it!!

Rae, know you'll be working away.

Jean, hope you have successful day and fun in the bird club!

Rae, I had to google it to see what is "Glow", and it's looks so pretty! I hope to have good weather to can enjoy it! This modern expositions of lights looks so beautiful! So nice that the carpenter is been kindly and chair finally is fixed.

Nancy, I hope you have good luck with buying new space heater. My mom was so excited to buy Handy Heater from Topshop few weeks ago, but unfortunately it's not so powerful that the commercial promises, so she is disappointed now :( . And the worse part is that it cost much more expensive than a heater from regular shop. I'm happy that you had fun yesterday! Sounds like you could make an album for your trip to China in form of 52 challenge, one page per week can be on every subject, just a little suggestion ;) .

Trudy, that's for your car is awful, especially now when have so many holiday expenses. Hope your car insurance to cover it! This really sounds like much of cooking and freezing, but probably you have fun to do it now knowing that this will help you in future?!

Chris, I'm big fan of the homemade pizza too! I try to convince my mom to make mini pizzas, but usually it's one deep dish pizza, I think Anthony Bourdain call it Chicago Style :) . Did you found the right book at the end?! Oh, so great about the Walgreen's calendars!
Uhh, no I'm still upset, but I will not allow my sadness and helplessness to spoil the holidays mood of my family! Thank you so much for your good vibes! The puppy kisses always makes my day better! I'm still curious about my Quince tea, because past few days I was mostly on coffee, but will try it soon, and will share :) .

OK, I hope you all will have long and deep sleep with nice dreams! I'm rise up early, trying to cover some extra work. After I realized that almost the entire second half of the month will be free for me, now I have to give my best to cover this. I have a clear motivation, but already feels like need a nap. :ranger:
