:hiding2: Is it the weekend yet? Are the tree, ornaments, boxes and everything put back in place? No?
Gah! :thud:
I still feel like I could sleep for another week and not be all caught up. Of course, if I slept for a week, my house would be in much worse shape than it is now. Not to mention the laundry pile would be at least triple in size. I'd have to go back into hiding for at least another month LOL!

My brother called yesterday and he sounded like he was bored out of his mind. He says he has had colds much worse than this, all he has is a scratchy throat and a little bit of congestion. So do I for that matter. (I tested yesterday- negative.) But seriously, doesn't everyone have some level of stuffy nose and scratchy throat in the winter? I know, I am complaining for complaining's sake. OTOH, my niece who we also saw on Christmas Eve has been very sick the last few days. My ILs brought her test kits after they left here the other day but I have no idea if she tested or not.
My parents are doing ok so that's good.
Now I have to figure out when to start the abx. I was going to start today so if I get a bad herx, it won't matter because I don't have any plans for the next few days. I am cleaning this afternoon but it takes a couple of days until it hits. But if I have covid, how will I know if I am herxing? Or if I am herxing how will I know if I have covid??
(You all see what I am doing, right?? Making up excuses because I don't want to start Lyme treatment again. Is there a temper tantrum smilie I can use? I really need a full-on, three-year-old style temper tantrum  )

Do you have any plans today? I have more housework that has to be taken care of and some emails that need replies. Scott got me an Instant Pot and I hope to find some recipes. He got it at a thrift store and it is in good shape but didn't come with the manual or recipe booklet. I found them online but haven't had a decent time to check them out. @taxed4ever Trudy, if you have any links or recipes to share, I'd appreciate that. :cloud9:

have a fab day, my lOves!

@BrightEyes It was sooooo cold by you yesterday! Is it any better today? I bet those fleece PJs and socks are feeling 100% cozy right about now. I got a lot of warm clothes/accessories this year too, helpful b/c you all know I am a big baby when it comes to being out in the cold.
Your sister's music program must have sounded amazing, have you ever seen her perform with them in person?
I can only imagine your phone blowing up with all of the photos from the g-kids ♥ I can relate, Caitlyn sent me a ton of pictures of my grand-rats last night :giggle4:

@vickyday What a wonderful day you must have had with your DD and the grand-DDs. One of my MIL's favorite things was teaching her grand-DDs how to sew and quilt. She tried to teach me, but it's not my thing. Numbers and precision measuring, nope. I am more of a wing-it gal. ;)
The cabin is really coming along, what is Mark going to do when it is finished????

@Cherylndesigns Sorry that your holiday was "off" too. It's been such a weird year. Some good, some not so good. Not the worst, not the best. Just weird. I hope that whatever the funk is -- it goes away. And fast!
Is it normal for the recovery from Chuck's surgery/sepsis to take this long? I know you know this, but I hope he is open to talking to you about the emotional toll. (not going to even think about suggesting therapy, not a chance for any of our Chucks right? :rotfl: )

@Su_Sanne So far, no one else is sick although I don't know how long it would take to test positive. I got the updated booster in October so I should be relatively safe. We suspect that Caitlyn and Gary both had it in November but who can tell anymore?
You know what would make me happy?
Picture of your dogs!

I love pics of dogs and cats and rats and squirrels and any animal at all. Please share! :)

BTW, I doubt this made the news out of the NY/NJ but there was a bull that escaped a slaughterhouse two weeks ago. They had to shut down NJ Transit and PATH trains in and out of NYC until he was caught. He was rescued by Skylands Sanctuary which is near me (Cait and I have been there a couple of times). His name is now Ricardo and will be living his best life there.
I don't know if the photo will show up, its from their FB page

Ricardo is a handsome guy!
Yes, had a great day with my girls yesterday.
Mark will always find more projects to work on when he gets done with the cabin. But he probably won't ever be completely done with the cabin because he keeps thinking of things he wants to do to it.

Chris, I love Ricardo's story! A small miracle and a wonderful happy ending! :heartpumpred::heartpumppink:
First of all, a warm hug for you. :hug3: I hope that the new year is filled with new thoughts, new courage and fresh enthusiasm! My mother always said that better times are coming! Also with you and Gary!!! Most certainly! If I can make you happy with dog photos, tell me how many should I send you without boring the others? I'll start right away, the sooner you'll feel better!
I will be back soon...

Good morning all,

I'm up early but might lay back down. I try to get up before Chuck does now so I can let Daisy out, feed her and the cat (if he's inside). Then, I fix his coffee and wait for him to want his cereal. Yesterday, I was talking to Steph while I was fixing his cereal and poured the milk in his cereal. I told her about eating it the last time I did that. She reminded me that I never eat cereal. I told her it was pretty good - strawberry Frosted Flakes yesterday. I might learn to like cereal again. Need more sugar. :floorlaugh:

I sat down, and flipped on my monitor and saw the shenanigans in the thread I started last night about the cat pulling off my computer key. I started chuckling and HAD to join in. What a funny thread it's turned out to be. Chris @faerywings would a flashlight reflect off a contact lens? Just askin' LOL I have two little flashlights and boy do they come in handy.

I agree with you about the winter scratchy throat and the dry cough. In my next life, I'm definitely going to winter in Florida. I don't know where I'll summer, but it has to be someplace that doesn't get hot. Maybe Iceland in the summer. I hear it's beautiful! :floorlaugh: My ex-SIL got remarried and they went there on their honeymoon. Don't ask - he's a little weird. But I guess it is beautiful and his pictures were amazing. Actually, he's been all over the world and just wanted to go someplace he'd never been.

So, your dilemma is when to start the Lyme medication? All valid thoughts. I'm picking up what you're putting down. Is it ever a good time?

No, Chuck's don't do any kind of "therapy". Remember my Chuck didn't even want to do PT? He said he could do that stuff in his own room - he didn't need to go to the therapy room. DUH - it's a "Chuck thing". No, it shouldn't take this long after gall bladder surgery. His was necrotic and he went into sepsis, so that prolonged the process. Still..........................

Vicky @vickyday sorry you have a headache again. I rarely ever have one, but used to suffer from migraines. It's hard to function when you have a headache. Take it easy today and rest.

Susanne, @Su_Sanne you are the sweetest. Always trying to cheer us up. Can't wait to see your pictures.

I'm going to get off of here now and decide whether I'm going to lay back down or now. Chuck usually wakes up about 9, so I probably won't. I'll take a nap instead.

HAGD and XOXO

Morning, gals. Thank goodness it is not as cold as yesterday morning... it is 27*F right now and the wind is calm. It was blowing like mad yesterday so that made the wind chill much lower. When I woke up at 6AM, I thought someone had a spotlight on my bedroom/patio door. It was the full moon shining down in a clear sky... When I looked out the office window a few minutes ago... I saw that the city workers had fixed the street light across from my house finally! It wasn't working yesterday but is now shining bright. So glad as it lights up most of this end of the block. I did take a PJ day yesterday. Sorted the laundry but still have 3 loads yet to do.

No, Chris... I haven't seen Sis preforming in person with the large choir. I have seen her sing on other occasions but this is the largest choir she has been in. Think this is the 3rd year she has been with them. I use my computer - not my phone - to look at the photos the girls post. And I can save the ones I want right to the ExHD. I am still learning how to use my new cell phone. Between DD#1, SinL#1, and DD#3, we have winnowed out most of the "junk" stuff that was coming in and put it on vibrate so it isn't driving me crazy beeping at me day and night!!!

So sorry you have to start Abx again for the Lyme... hope it doesn't bother you as bad as it did in the past. Glad you have had the Covid booster and hope no one else in the family gets it. :hug2:

I started to watch "Maestro" on Netflix - but quit watching it about halfway through. Didn't enjoy watching people doing drugs and other bad things. I usually enjoy the music in a bio but this one was over the top with his life style choices. It turned me off so much that I turned the TV off. I still want to watch the last episode of "The Crown"... maybe later on this week.

Hey, @Su_Sanne Great to see you popping in. Yes, I enjoyed the Ricardo story, too. Glad it had a happy ending with him in the Sanctuary.

@Cherylndesigns Had to LOL over you pouring milk in Chuck's cereal again! Tell the truth... you are beginning to like the strawberry taste! :giggle4: Given all that Chuck went through, it is no wonder it is taking a long time for him to recover. And, yes... I love the other post about the keyboard and missing 'C' due to your cat!

@vickyday so sorry you are feeling bad today. Yes, going back to bed and resting is the best thing to do. Glad you DH is enjoying working on the cabin in his spare time.

Time to get my shower and get dressed. I need to run to the store - out of milk and coffee creamer. I could live without the milk but no way without the coffee creamer. HAGD

Good After-Christmas Day!
I'm glad the holidays are over. :dancingbfly:When the family has shrunk so much, my brother and sister-in-law have to work on the holidays, the children have other interests and live far away, then Christmas is no longer special. Last year we wanted to escape and went to the North Sea. Unfortunately it was a failure! The house looked cozier in the brochure. The weather was terrible, It stormed and rained for days, so we couldn't dry the dachshunds' rain jackets that quickly! Anton and Paulchen were fed up after just one day! :hiding1::hiding1:Just too stormy. The best thing was the visit to a seal breeding station and the fireworks on New Year's Eve. No bangs to shock the dogs, but a long, quiet fireworks display over the sea with lots of bright colors and shapes.

It has been raining in Germany for weeks, so that the rivers are overflowing their banks and the water dams are full to the brim and overflowing. There is water in the fields and there is flooding in some cities. Luckily we don't have a river nearby that can overflow its banks. But the daily dark gray weather really gets on my nerves. :crazy:From November to February I am a different person. But I try very hard not to fall into a hole. I think up house games for the dogs, strengthen my neglected muscles on the exercise bike and enjoy watching fairy tales on TV. Michael baked wonderful cookies with 3 different types of chocolate that are simply fantastic. :chocolate:

I asked him to bake another batch because the first ones ran out so quickly....I'm crazy about cookies like Cookie Monster :ilovechocolate:

As promised, I'm sending a layout with photos of our dachshunds for our animal enthusiast Chris. Wildly mixed up from the last 2 years and an older one of my favorite photos of my soulmate Odin (together with young Anton)

HAVND and make the most of it!!

Good morning everyone!! I am finally feeling like things are getting back to normal today. I tried to pop in here over the holidays but there was always something going on that needed my attention. Lots of face time with the grandkids, so nice!! However poor Mason has been sick for the past several day, with a horrible cough and congestion. I think that they will be taking him to the doctor today if he isn't any better. Christmas Dinner was so much fun with Mark and Linda as Mark was the chef and made a delicious steak and salad meal for us. Appetizers of large prawns stuffed with Boursin Cheese and wrapped in Prosciutto, amazingly delicious!! We were home before 10pm as we all had to get up early to drive to Sidney and spend Boxing Day at SIL Sharon's. We enjoyed lots of laughs and of course so much more food, I think I will be full for a week!! Got in lots of cuddles with baby Sophia who is now three months old, so sweet!! However there certainly was a different vibe this Christmas, something was just off and it did not feel like everyone was enjoying the Christmas season like we usually do. I know for my Gary and myself, it is probably because we are not with our children and grandchildren, but everyone seemed to be a bit melancholy. Anyway its time to get back into routine and regular day to day stuff. I will be doing some :laundry: and a few other household chores, but other than that not much happening around here, so I will plan on starting a layout for one of the Challenges before the month is over. No plans for the next few days and soon it will be the New Year. We are not going anywhere this New Year's Eve as DH has his Hernia Surgery on the 4th and then he will be my patient for the next week or longer. He is very nervous about the whole thing, but I keep reminding him that he needs to get this done, he is in a lot of pain with this hernia. Should have had it taken care of a few months ago. MEN!!! I will most likely hear from the grands a lot this next two weeks as they are off on Christmas Break now until after the New Year. They keep me busy with face time calls and I love that!! Enough rambling from me, a few personals and then I am off to the :showering:. I hope everyone is taking it easy today, from reading the earlier posts, it sounds like everyone needs to rest and relax today!!

@faerywings - Oh my goodness what terrible news about your brother testing positive, sure hope that no one else does, especially you since you have been able to avoid Covid all this time!! No wonder you are procrastinating your lyme Rx!! Sorry that Gary snapped at you, hopefully you have forgiven him today, I hope he has apologized to you too!! Yes the Christmas season just does not seem the same anymore and its not the happy times we remember as children, still lots of love from family and friends and that makes it all worth the effort of hosting Christmas!! Love the story about the rescued Bull!! He is one lucky steer, now living a good life with caring people! We all could use a bit more of good news like this! Thanks for sharing!!

@vickyday - Oh my another headache, you poor soul!! I hope it goes away for you at some point today, yes a pj day is a great idea!!

@Su_Sanne - I love your Mothers saying, my Mom would have said the same!! Love your page with all of your sweet fur babies!! You are so sweet to be sending everyone well wishes and cheering us all up!

Ok Heather is calling so I will return in a bit :bye2:

Good morning ladies. I sat and watched the sunrise while reading my book, that is why I'm usually popping in here later in the morning. I sit at the kitchen nook for an hour or two, first thing in the morning. I find it so relaxing, to stay off the computer and just stare out the window, then read a few pages of my book...then repeat.

I'm in my office for a few hours this morning and then will be heading out to run a few errands (get something for dinner, I'm tired of leftovers) and then over to the dog park.

The temps for the next few days are quite mild (in the 40's) but then will drop down to 20ish with more snow coming. I love how the snow stays on the ground, it keeps everything looking so pretty. Jen and I had fun shopping yesterday, getting a few personal things and some things for the house. I got sparkly black square placemats for the kitchen nook table and black s/p shakers. No word from the store yet on whether the new couch and credenza are coming tomorrow. I won't be surprised if its next week b/c of the holiday hours. Next week we also get the LED lights installed on the house which I can't wait to see, it'll be so much fun to program the colors, combos, etc with the app. It will light up the backyard which will be a big help with keeping track of the dogs at night when out in the yard. No word yet on when the glass table tops are coming and haven't heard back from the electrician about wiring for the washer/dryer upstairs. But...one thing at a time, it will all get done.

@faerywings Hope you don't have covid. I feeling somewhat better, more energy, not so much chest rattling and cough but not completely over it yet. Everywhere I go I see sick people, coughing and sneezing. They said it was going to be a rough winter for viruses and that is certainly true. Enjoy the instapot. Soups are fast and easy, I'm thinking of making wedding soup in mine soon.

@taxed4ever I know you missed your kids/grands for the holidays but sounds like a nice time with the rest of the family.

@Su_Sanne What a cute page of your pups!

@Cherylndesigns I'm with you, winter in Florida would be awesome (maybe we should pop in unannounced at Linda's).

@BrightEyes It does take time to learn a new phone, doesn't it? I am due for an upgrade, I should call this week and see what specials are on.

I need to get on with my day. BFN HAGD everyone.

Update to let everyone know my headache went away around noon. Mark came back from the woods and decided it was the day to work on the Americana wall that disappeared when I moved the living room around earlier in the year. Then we went to COSTCO and stopped for supper on the way home. Mark is watching football before we leave for church in a little while.
Thanks for all of your thoughts toward me for my crazy headache!
There are still a few things I have that will fill in some of the gaps, but it will have to wait for another day as Mark was pretty frustrated by the end of all his drilling (mistakes, lol), etc. for the wall. ;)

Wow took me most of the day, but I am back to finish off personals LOL. I got busy baking cheesy zucchini bread for my DH's snacks he takes to work. Then went to the grocery store and the post office to return an item. I was surprised the line up was not too long today!

@BrightEyes - I hate learning new phones, and would be totally lost if I changed from my iPhone to an Andriod!! Although my kids love theirs and they were both iPhone lovers before they made the switch! How nice that you got to see the full moon! I heard it was very bright!! I have to finish off watching the Crown soon also, sad that it won't be back on again.

@bcgal00 - A perfect way to start your days in your cozy kitchen nook! Yes the snow stays around on the ground in the prairie and blows around from one place to another and sticks around for most of the winter and into spring. God knows what it will be like out there this year though as it seems the weather is just as crazy as everything else in this world. Hope that all your new things arrive soon for you and that the lights are easy to set up and change! Hope you are feeling so much better now!!

@Cherylndesigns - Had to giggle :giggle4: about pouring the milk on Chucks cereal again! You will be finding all kinds of new flavors to try out in cereal if you keep this up!! I need to go back a few days and check out your post about the missing C on your keyboard!

@vickyday - So glad that the headache was gone before the end of the day! The Americana wall looks fabulous! I would be the same and have drilling mistakes all over LOL. My DH however is very meticulous and would have it all planned out and marked out perfectly before pounding in one nail we are total opposites LOL.

Ok I am off again to look at the challenges and decide just what I am going to do for a layout! HAGD!!

HA! The only plan I started with was the shelf being in the center of the wall and the large framed puzzle picture being somewhere on that shelf! The rest was fill in as I go, LOL!
