So those deep breaths that I took at the end of my post yesterday morning and the mantra of "I got this," yeah, that didn't last long. FIL sent an email to all of us about the cruise being officially booked but the dates were different than the ones we had talked about on Sunday. I knew that Cait and I were good for these dates but I didn't know about Scott. I knew he was traveling to Colorado but couldn't remember when. That started the snowball effect. Then Cait said that she is meeting up with Brendan again to talk about being "friends." OMG, they cannot get back together. They can't. I mean, they can and I will have to stay out of it. But ugh!!!!!

Then came all of the stuff that I need to do and I ended up with an actual panic attack like I couldn't breathe and thought I was dying for a second. I haven't had one of them in a long time and thankfully, I knew what was happening. Gary was there and hugged me which broke the cycle quickly.
I was able to get some stuff done which helped me to focus a bit more- kids are all done and wrapped. I am almost done with everyone else.
The shopping list and menu are 99% done. That will be all set this morning.
Today I am going to steam clean--but just the spots where the dogs threw up last week. That shouldn't be a big project at all. Then I need to regroup a bit and I should be good to go.

The sun is shining so at least there is that as well!
xoxoxo!

Kay- long johns are a great idea. It is so cold here too. I think I need to find my hat to wear. fab news that walking w/o the boot didn't hurt your foot. Good idea to keep wearing it a bit longer for protection.
who me, doing too much? Never!

Jean- we are 100% silver here- ice is coating everything. It looks pretty in the sunlight. From inside at least. Will it melt by you soon? Did you finish the newsletter? What a neat friend to see outside, would love to see the pics!
It is a cruise from Newark, NJ (no flying involved) to Newport RI then down to Bermuda and then back to NJ. 7 nights-- the longest I have ever been away from Gary had been 5 nights when he had to go on a business trip when the kids were little. It is set for July so kids will be out of school-- ack. Scott will have graduated and will be working.

Trudy- That is the best part of getting your hair done- the shampooing. Why isn't it the same when you wash your own hair? I wonder if hairstylists are able to give themselves the same type of scalp massage?
How much fun did Mason have with Daddy?? What a fun time skating. Think he will be a hockey player someday? Is hockey *really* as big in Canada as we Americans think it is? Or am I being stereotypical?:D

Rae- good job getting the laptop set up with W10! *fingers all crossed that it works on the work computer too*
Good luck getting through the next few days!

nancy- You are so lucky that you only got rain, I heard that my town was on News 12 because of the icing, heard that the news crew was right across the street from the supermarket I complain about :D
Sorry to hear that the Devils traded Hall but hopefully, it will turn the team around a bit.

Lorraine- Shut. Up. Please.
Hahaha! I am only joking, 80* sounds like heaven to me and to be able to be at a beach, that would be perfect. Build a sandman for me!
Cait is the only one of the 4 of us who has ever been on a cruise and she loved it. She is telling me that I will have a lot of fun.

Felis- I am struggling with the lack of Christmas spirit here too. Yes, your avatar speaks the cat's truth.
I sort of figured out the ending of the book by the time the last person was killed and was trying to figure out how she was able to do it. If you read it anyway, let me know what you think of her- BTW I don't think you are anti-social or psycho- I just know you would probably prefer to be around your cats then people often Like me. LOL

Are you talking about me to Lorraine? Am I that obvious>?

Better get off of the computer and get stuff done. love to all!

Morning, gals. Hope it is a good day for everyone. I woke up to 19 degrees this AM.. it is now up to 21! ! ! Brrrr..rrrr...rrr!!! Glad I have long-johns to wear. Found as I have gotten older, the cold weather bothers me more - even in the house @ 70 degrees inside. Must be a combination of cold and change in barometric pressure as the fronts come through. I didn't get out yesterday - not sure where my day went as it was 4:30 PM before I knew it. I did spend some time scrapping and uploading to galleries. Decided I had better measure the cabinet space under the sink before I buy some bins for under there.

Chris, it is so nice that the cruise will leave from NJ so no flights to catch. Sounds like it will be a wonderful cruise. Wow... you have been busy to get all of that done! I hear your concern about Cait maybe getting back with ex-boyfriend. Sorry that everything brought on a panic attack and glad that Gary was there with a hug to help you relax. <<< hugs >>>

Lorraine, it is so good to see you back here again. You have been missed, gal!

BRB... DD called to say she was coming over for coffee... so have to dash in and get dressed. CYL

good morning today is a Devils home game against the Ducks. It will be interesting as no Hall and new head coach. Watched the Coyotes game and Hall had an assist on the GWG against the Sharks. I am happy for him. I would love for the Coyotes to do well. I still ask myself how can I like a cold weather sport in a cold building when I really don't like the cold. LOL but the games are so exciting. We are in the midst of our coldest days of the year. The temps are only going down and by tomorrow morning they should be in the teens with wind chills even lower. Got two more pages done on my project.

Chris I hope the dates work out for Scott. And you will enjoy cruising. In July the weather heading south should be nice and warm so you can just sit in the sun. The food available at all times. And you can join or not join as you want. Sorry about the panic attack. Glad you got back on track. Speaking of mice my DH found two dead mice in our dogs old non-used dog food bag. Assuming they come in through the dog door and got in the bag and could not get out. I hate them but I would not like them to die this way. I would just have thrown them back outside where they belong.

Trudy getting hair done is always a highlight of my month. I go on Friday and looking forward to it.

Rae that is awesome that you got windows10 to work. That is why I am an apple girl - I know that programs work. More expensive probably but I love my peace of mind. Love the chickadee!

Kay so glad that you were able to walk without noticing the foot! That is awesome. I need long johns tonight for the walk to the game. Hope your temps rise!

Jean I hope your white stayed snow and not ice like in Chris' neighborhood. bet you were busy with newsletter!

Felis I hope the cats don't destroy too much! Hope that you can enjoy the holiday!

Lorraine I have to say 80 does not sound that bad even with the humidity! Have fun at the beach and building the sand snowman.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... I am having to type this on my phone this morning as our power is out :mmph: looks like just our area as I can see the lights are on , on the other side of the Lake. Hopefully it will come back on soon!! So I will make this short as we all know how frustrating it can be to do long post with the phone!!

Chris - Sorry that you had that horrible panic attack!! Slow down girl you got this!! Thankfully your man was there to bring you back to calm and control!! Sure hope the dates work out for your cruise which sounds like it will be so much fun!! Sure hope that Cait does what is right and only remains friends but like you say you will stay out of it, what else can you do?? As for Hockey being so big in Canada yup it is !! However it has become far to expensive of a sport and I doubt that Heather and Jonah would be able to afford it! There are lots of programs out there to help out families that can not afford to buy equipment etc but I am not sure if they would want Mason in Hockey? I will have to ask her! Hope you finish off your to do list today but remember to breathe and it will all get done in plenty of time

Kay - Oh brrr!! It sounds chilly for you!! I am thankful for my nice gas fireplace this morning while I sit without power!! The temps are pretty mild right now so I don’t have to worry about freezing to death lol Hope that you have a nice coffee and visit with your DD!! :hurt: I can’t have a coffee until my power comes back on !!

Ok I will return later on when I can use my computer again!! Have a great day everyone!!

We got a little more snow in the night again and now it's cold and windy. This afternoon I get my teeth cleaned. The newsletter did go in the mail yesterday but I still have two to email, but need to get on the other computer where the email addresses are. You know about the poinsettia, but I haven't mentioned the orchid DH is caring for. You may remember he got it for me in Feb. when I was in the hospital. It bloomed a long time, but eventually finished. Recently it began showing a new bloom stalk and now the stalk is really growing and showing buds. We've never had an orchid before, so this is quite exciting.

Chris, glad Gary could hug away the panic attack. I totally agree that it is yuck to think of Cait back with the ex, but she undoubtedly won't listen. Anyway, think cruise instead! :lalala:

Kay, good idea to measure first. It'll be nice having things stored in bins. Keep warm.

Nancy, no we didn't get ice, sure do prefer snow to that. Good luck with the Devils now. You must have been up late to watch the Coyotes game.

Felis, oh darn, sorry even family decorating was stressful and now there are the cats being cats with all the new "toys". And here's the Hairy Woodpecker. It is a female as it has no red on the head.

Well, my time is running out, so wishing all a great day.

Good morning, ladies. At this time of the year the days just fly by. Every yr I think I'll be organized and ready for Xmas but nope, I'm always rushing around to finish up. But, I know it always works out and gets done so I'm not concerned. Got extra desk work as the other girl who works for one of the doctors has to take a few days off so I'll do her work too. That's ok b/c it'll help with the paycheque which will be almost nothing for the last 2 wks of the month. I'll head out to do a bit of shopping later tonight after work. Got to get a few things for D. I want to get my recipes figured out for baking and make sure I get all the supplies so tomorrow will shop for that and a bit more Xmas shopping.

Chris - hugs. Glad G was there to give you a hug and help you de-stress. Fingers crossed that C doesn't get back with B. I hope the dates work out for your cruise.

Kay - enjoy the coffee with your daughter.

Nancy - brrr...too cold for me :)

Trudy - hope the power comes back on soon.

I'm getting to work now. Have a great day, everyone!

Hello girls,
I think I'm left you with wrong impression, I actually laugh a lot on my cats mischiefs. There is more of them today and one gold garlands looks like their favorite. I'm used cheap stuff from dollar store, so it's not a big deal at all. I think these little kids have more christmas spirit than any other at my family.
I'm not sure where my day went. I had some of the house task crossed off, but in something like blur, trans mood. Nothing interesting to talk about.
Weather is very strange a spring likely again, it was 53.6 here, and we watched at the news that on the other side of our mountain range they are been in 73. It's a big amplitude with the night temperatures 33.8. And few towns are on water regime now. We hope on rain, but I rather prefer snow.

Chris, ouch, the panic attack sounds terrible. Good that Gary was able to give you some relief! I hope Scott will be able to come with you on the cruise! Can he pretend on sick for these days? People here do it often, so now first day from every sick-leave wouldn't be paid, as prevention from fake flu. From other side if he can't come he will be company to Gary and makes some boys nights with sports watching and junk food.
Sorry, but I'll be very disappointed from Cait, if she do that! Next year is The Metal Rat Year and I saw it as the perfect time to find her true love, someone to takes care for her on practice, not only on emotional level! To get back to man who not gives you ring after 6 years relationship, wow, she must love him much and blind. There is nothing to do when heart decide, step back, it's better to watch how she will make mistake, instead to fight and argue with her! No one likes mom to show her the mistakes, even when mom is right. Don't support of course, just say that you prefer to not take a side in this decision, she is smart enough to feel your position. Be careful to not hurt her with criticism! One of mine best friends from the past, has school boyfriend, and she was just like Brenan, she had few split off for a few months just to be free to sleep with another men. But then she always came back, and now they are married and have lovely kid. She insist that she had needs to tested her feelings. It's not my business to judge!
Yep, it's obviously for who I was talking about on Lorraine. And yes I understood we discussed the book's protagonist and the authors stereotypes, with which we both are strongly disagree :nerd: ! Sadly but yes in now days I prefer my cats' company more often than humans! I can't figure out fully this social anxiety you was mentioned, as I love to be in a spotlight! I don't have nothing interesting to say, but have this true curiosity to the others life. Make man to vaunt and woman to complain and the time will fly. But on this level of my life I'm stingy to my time, don't feel need to spend it in vanity, have way more interesting things to do by myself!

Jean, thank you for sharing the photo! Even not perfect, it's still so pretty! It's good that you made it! Little play with the art filters and this can become lovely layout! My aunt love orchids. They are very pretty indeed, but needs lots of care. Definitely it's exciting to see it growing, you have wonderful skills!

Nancy, if I'm understood this correct you'll go to watch the game, which is wonderful and I'm so happy for you :whoo::whoo: ! Don't forget your fan scarf and I know during the game you are unable even to notice the cold! Have fun!

Kay, are long-johns something as winter tights? I'm big fan of them!

Trudy, It's just the pits to stay without electricity at this cold and gloomy weather! I hope they had fixed it fast!

Rae, you are not just busy bee, but the bee queen! Admiration for your organising skills!
