The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Yesterday I was shocked that it was Monday. Today I am more confused that it is already Tuesday. Who wants to guess how I will feel tomorrow morning? Probably nothing calming. LOL!
Anyone have a guess for me today?

Honestly, aside from not knowing *exactly* what day it is, what I am doing, and why I am doing it... Sure, I am fine. I am getting better and better at ignoring things that need to be done. :ignore1:
Will that all bite me in the butt in ten days? Uh-huh. 100%. It is keeping me slightly more sane in the meantime.... We shall see!

We starved poor Jaida for no reason yesterday. The surgeon took one look at her leg and said Yup. Hardware infection and it needs to come out. No need for X-rays yesterday, which is why no breakfast b/c she would have been sedated. He is going to do the X-rays while she is under anesthesia for the surgery today. Gary is bringing her down this morning and then will come back home. We will drive down together tonight to pick her up as long as there are no complications. *fingers crossed*

One good thing about not having to wait for x-rays was that we got home much earlier than expected- I had time to bake a batch of cookies. Gary thought I was all done, rather than just getting started. I wish! I have never been so disorganized and unprepared for the holidays.
Whoops! I slipped. :lalala:

Back to :ignore1:

I am off to clean this morning, and then I guess just waiting for the vet to call this afternoon. I started the Art Doll Challenge yesterday, maybe I'll have a little time and mental capacity to finish that.

I have the links here for you:

DAY 10 - WINTER FUN DOWNLOAD

DAY 10 - Chain Scraplift | CHALLENGE

Sending you all big hugs!

No, I won't. We have a huge garden. I buried those.

Smart lady...:gravedigger:

You know what I found surprising about Jaida.....that it has been 2 years already since her last surgery!!
I would love to see a picture of Scotts dam creation.....don't read that too fast and take it negatively! ;).

Just a screenshot of the photos, sorry they are blurry but you can get an idea.
And isn't it crazy that it's been two years since the last major surgery? Time is out of control. SMH.
No widows' meeting today. We canceled yesterday during all of the rain/snow mess, especially since the temps are even colder today! The weird thing is there was a heavy frost yesterday morning before the mess started.....but not today! Weird!
No point in driving if the roads are messy.
^^ also goes for Terri
We got about 3-4" of snow when it was in the 20s yesterday, then overnight it got to about 15° so every single centimeter of that snow is still there and the roads turned to ice. I'm going out at 2:00 for a haircut and I anticipate there will have been enough traffic to get the roads reasonable. I am so tired of winter already, and it's not even officially winter yet!
Me too. I hate it.
I wish I could whip off those layouts but I'm always fretting over them and adjusting and redoing. Needless to say, I haven't been on a bike ride for over a week, and I'm too lazy to walk in the snow, so I'm beginning to feel like a slug. Time to get out somehow.
Another me too, and a third one.
I fuss over my LOs nonstop.
I am a slug too-- not working for the last week or so is catching up and my days have been kooky enough where I haven't had time to get in any yoga.
That beaver diorama sounds amazing! I'm sure the kids will be mesmerized. I always get a thrill when I see the teeth marks and pointy stumps the beavers leave along our trails. Someday I hope to actually catch sight of one.
I was "lucky" enough to get slapped at by one. I was taking some pictures of a lodge near me and man, that slap made me jump out of my skin! I didn't expect to see a beaver and he was *not* happy that I was close.

Morning, all. Slept in this morning..(8 AM)... this is getting to be habit lately. :D Of course, it could be because I have been reading good books lately and hate to put them down until I 1) finish reading it.. or 2) fall asleep and drop the book!!!
That is so funny! I am almost done with the Tom Hanks book-- maybe the next few nights. It has been fascinating!
Wait, what???? The queen of 100's of layouts a day (or so it seems :heartpumpred:) is behind??? that means there is no hope for all of us.
:rotfl:
Thanks for saying what we all were thinking!! :D
Goooooooooood :brrr: Moooooooooooorrrnnnniiinnnnggggg
Its 8°F and feels more normal. The wind has stopped YEAH and life can now resume normal. (we'll see how that goes)

Finally, we are warmer than you, not that I call 25* "warm" but still....
Not much happening today. Challenge to do.
Are you all caught up with the 12 Days? I barely had time to get to the Gallery the last couple of days so I feel like I am missing out on everything. I'm going to have to stalk your LOs ASAP!

Give yourself some slack, sista! You ARE working now, remember?! What's the worst that can happen if you don't get everything done you "expect" you want to get done?? Relax and enjoy the season! :heartpumplove:

Thanks for sharing the pictures! Scott did an amazing job! So totally cute! Love it!

Good Morning!
Woke up at 4:30 today (I think it's something in the water here! ;) )
Didn't go back to sleep after the potty, so I got up with Mark at 5:30. Fixed my coffee, got our selfie for the day, bed-head and all, LOL!
Going out today to look for a frame for the last puzzle Ilene and I finished. It was a bear!
Mark and I will be going out to lunch.
I need to get some pages uploaded to Persnickety before my time runs out! I have through the first week of January, when they will have a 25% off sale, but I don't want to wait until the last minute!
And that is about it for me. I played with the Winter Fun Collab this morning so I could use a quote from the daily Almanac email I get. Need to check out today's challenge.
Of the 14 grands getting gifts this year ($$) 3 were delivered yesterday to Mark's grands who live at the beach. All of mine will be here on Jan. 10th for our gathering. The rest of Mark's live near us, so will be visited individually at some point.
Have a great day!

@faerywings I love the beaver dam diaorama...that is so awesome. That must have taken some time but it is so worth it. Scott nailed this one for sure. I think beavers are so cool. Did Scott ever see a snowy track from one...weird print as they drag their tail so it looks odd with small foot prints too.
Our son's place in Upstate NY has a 3 acre pond from a beaver dam so there were many beaver chews around. He harvested one and my FIL carved a beaver out of another one to perch on the chew. I wish I had a pic of it. Its so cool, it's the centerpiece of the table in the original cabin.
Good luck with the dog surgery and wishing her a speedy recovery. she deserves extra treats after this ordeal, starving her for nothing

Well I am done with PT for my hip- 16 sessions- I had 2 more but my progress was so good I passed all the tests and got ok from the surgeon to be done. Next that knee maybe early march...ugh. Yesterday we worked on the wall panel behind fridge in kitchen and today I will go get the paint for that wall and be ready for demo/reconstruction in 3 weeks. Today the new appliances will be delivered. Refrigerator can be put in kitchen but dishwasher and micro will wait till later in this process. The electrician is lined up to do the work when we are ready. I do not see the light at the end of the tunnel for this project yet.
10 days till granddaughter gets here I'm so excited we will have fun!! we always do.

@vickyday A selfie a day---really? Good luck finding frame are you putting the bear puzzle in the cabin? Seem like it would be a cool place for it.

Keep warm everyone. It's chilyl here in Florida too but 53 would be warm for most of you.

Good for you on no more PT!!!

When I said, "It was a bear!" I meant it was a pain in the you know where! The puzzle I want to frame is of the State birds and flowers. But will still be going in the cabin.
Yeah! A selfie with Mark every day this month! It may or may not happen! ;)

Forecast to be in the 40s today so I'm hoping Monday's snow will be mostly gone by this evening. I went out to the Messiah Singalong at the university last night. It's always frustrating to park there because the visitor parking garage requires you use a phone app to pay and I get no cell signal inside the garage. It irritates me every time; I don't know why I think it will be better this time than last. I have to walk out of the garage and up the hill and then put in all the info I was supposed to remember from the sign inside.

Tonight is David's choir's concert, so we have to leave home at 5:30 to get him there in time. Then tomorrow night is my choir's dress rehearsal, and Friday my choir's concert. I'm trying to convince David that it makes sense to have our main meal at lunch and just a sandwich or soup in early evening, but not getting far. The old man is stuck in his ways for sure.

Our nephew is coming Friday night or Saturday morning for the weekend so today is cleaning day, even the guest room which tends to get short shrift most of the time but does accumulate dust. On the bright side, it gives me time to listen to my audiobook as I clean.

Uh oh... just overheard a 4-letter word from the guest bath, where I had asked David to see if he could fix the drain stopper, which was stuck... OK, I just took a long break to drive to the hardware store with my husband because he's grouchy. Looks like we're getting a whole new drain assembly in there.

Pulled out the fryer yesterday and had a blast. Donuts, fried pickles, fried chicken. Ahhh was wonderful. now to really clean the kitchen from grease splatter.
I decided years ago that deep frying was something restaurants can always do better than I can. Plus, so much to clean up!

He harvested one and my FIL carved a beaver out of another one to perch on the chew.
That sounds so cool! I bet it looks great in a cabin.

On to today's challenge. I looked at it a couple hours ago but the chain of responses had gotten messed up and I had no idea who I was supposed to scraplift from. I'm hoping that by now it's cleared up. Onward!

:brrr: :cold:
Ggggooooodddddd mmmoooorrrrrnnnniiinnnngggg (said with shivers)
Well, all I can say is were back too more normal temps. -4°F. yep, youre read it right negative 4. Cars all plugged in so the engine and oil wont be sluggish and cold. No way she would start if we didn't warm the oil.
One good thing about not having to wait for x-rays was that we got home much earlier than expected- I had time to bake a batch of cookies. Gary thought I was all done, rather than just getting started. I wish! I have never been so disorganized and unprepared for the holidays.
I'm glad they didn't have to do X-rays yesterday and were able to keep the sedation down to once today not two days in a row. Poor Jaida though missing breakfast. She will feel so much better once this is all done and taken care of. I too feel the lack of prepared for holidays, at least when it comes to baking. I haven't even thought of the baking list let alone bought anything.
Finally, we are warmer than you, not that I call 25* "warm" but still....
Yep, youre a good 30 warmer than me right now.
Are you all caught up with the 12 Days? I barely had time to get to the Gallery the last couple of days so I feel like I am missing out on everything. I'm going to have to stalk your LOs ASAP!
Yep, got yesterdays finished last night and then loved around the gallery. Was a fun hour. Todays LO will have to wait until tomorrow or possibly Friday. Not sure. Today and tomorrow are crazy busy.
got our selfie for the day, bed-head and all,
Wait, you do this daily???? Like every day??? Glad Mark is willing.
Well I am done with PT for my hip- 16 sessions- I had 2 more but my progress was so good I passed all the tests and got ok from the surgeon to be done.
WOOT WOOT!!!!! Yeah for the end of PT!!!!!! Now there is no stopping you. Just dont over do it too much!!!

Well, I've run out of time. Need to feed dogs, dress warm and head out for my crazy Wednesday of cooking. Sloppy jo casserole tonight. Its amazing but we've never tried this one on a massive scale before. Fingers crossed they love it as much as my family does. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Ooohhhh yeah I hear that. But deep fried at restaurants cost so much when there are five of us. so I bought a fryer where all but the heating element goes in the dishwasher. It was a game changer. But still, if I'm gonna go to the mess we fry tons at once. Was so satisfying and worth it.

Hope you survive!!!

WOW! That brought back memories! My first husband and I had a VW when we first got married. During the winter we had to keep a light on underneath it during the winter nights or it wouldn't start the next day!
Like every day???
Yes, ma'am!
Glad Mark is willing.
Well, I don't know that I would say "willing" exactly! ;)
Sloppy jo casserole tonight
This sounds like a recipe you need to share! ;)
