Good morning my lOvelies! Where is the time going??

It is 78 here and feels like 93 and that is on the way to 96 and feels like115. This weather is insane. Every night, they call us with an emergency warning that there will be a heat warning the next day! I think that we all are aware! It looks like we have at least another week of the nonsense.

@faerywings...Cait is closing in just a few weeks. Oh my goodness! But 10-15 minutes isn't far so I'm very happy for that. How are you doing with that? As exciting as it is, I know that it is also hard! I'm thinking of you and Cait! But, 10-15 minutes isn't far! That will be your new mantra!

@bcgal00 and you are moving? I know that you had thought you might...but I didn't think it would happen so fast!!! Fingers crossed for a really quick sale.

@BrightEyes I'm so glad that you are getting back to normal!!! Love your scrapping as always.

@vickyday good morning!

@Cherylndesigns has the big move taken place and Asher is safely tucked in closer to Cici? Isn't that what he calls you?

I'm posting this in case @faerywings logs on so she doesn't have to merge posts. Then I'll give you the highlights of my life!

So, other than the fact that the time is flying :airplane: and the heat is oppressive , not a lot going on. (The sun should not be smiling because this is definitely not a happy sun that is shining on us each day.)

And, not quite true about not a lot going on. :crying1::dancingelephant: Syd moves into her apartment a week from today. I think she is more sad than excited but I know that she will get there and get busy with things and that will change. I think she just feels like she is inching closer and closer to the responsibilities of adulthood. I'm trying to not seem sad so that I don't make it more difficult. I'm so glad that she is only 1 1/2 hours away!

Saw all of the family this weekend back in Iowa. Got to meet the twins, got to celebrate Brooks turning 1. We stayed at a lake about an hour south of everyone...and we bought a lot to build a house on. We close on September 8. Not selling this house for now. Thinking that we are going to split our time. But we don't know where we are splitting it between. One place is definitely Iowa now. Don't think that we will be doing any winters there however. If the kids stay in Florida for work, we will split between Florida and Iowa. If they move somewhere else...well who knows. But the weather was so nice and we found a lot with a nice view. We will spend some time thinking about options over the winter. I think we will build for sure by 2025 but we might build in 2024. It makes me a little nervous about building while we are halfway across the country but my brother will be only too happy to keep an eye on things at the lake. :floorlaugh: One niece said that she can't wait to do a birthday party for the little kids at our house at the lake, another niece was talking to Brian and he was saying we were debating on a basement and she said "look at all of these people (referring to family) Brian...you need a basement", another niece said "I can't wait until we have a place down there." and my brother told me that 2025 was unrealistic and I needed to move my plans up. @Cherylndesigns we have a "compound" mentality even if we don't have a compound.

Flowers are looking good...they have had lots of rain to go with the oppressive heat so they do look good. And the birds continue to flock to the feeders. I have had a downy woodpecker find me and the cardinals are here every day. Along with wrens and titmice and various others that stop on occasion.

I need to go get a shower before my day starts. But it won't be long and life will be back to nOrmal with my Daily O's.

:grouphugyay: Love you all!

@LSlycord HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!! :cowwaving: I have missed you! Thank you so much for starting the thread ♥
I gotta admit, I was confused over the days again when I saw it though. I jumped ahead that it was Thursday since there was a Wed, thread already posted. :giggle4:

My Tuesday (yes, yesterday :nod1: ) was pretty good. I did some more cleaning/stripped the bed/did yoga, and went for a walk. I also finished a LO for the Sketch challenge and I really like how it turned out. Scott, Sam, Cait, and Tom did "Barbenhatten." They originally wanted to do Barbenheimer but after hearing that Oppenheimer was 3 hours, they changed their minds. They went to the American Museum of Natural History (in Manhatten) and then to see Barbie. Thus, Barbenhatten. ;)

I am cleaning for my friend this afternoon and other than that, no plans. It's beautiful if a little chilly right now but it was pouring this morning when I woke up so everything will be wet and soggy out there.

Today I am grateful for the weather and I wish I could share it with you!

From yesterday:

@vickyday Oh that sounds terrifying driving in the rain with a tornado watch, so glad that you made it home ok. How are you feeling today, better? Smart idea to take a PJ day. My allergies are acting up, is that what is going on with you too?

@bcgal00 Lots and lots of good vibes for selling your house whenever it is the right time to do it.

@BrightEyes Hope that the cooler temps stick around! It was cool here yesterday -- around 80* but the humidity-- Yuck!!
I bet it has been fab having meals all ready to heat and eat :)

@Cherylndesigns so many dogs! And cat. Can't leave out Sam. LOL!
Oh yes!! You need a Rex Skellie!! Weren't these skellie sketches cute? So happy that Steph and Archer are settling in!!

@LSlycord The house in hold for now, the septic failed and the owners don't want to fix it themselves. Cait's attorney said that they should go ahead and get an engineer to write up an estimate and negotiate the selling price so that is where it's at now.
I hope that you and Syd get lots of time together before she heads back to school. As for adulting-- it sucks. 1/10. Do not recommend. LOL! I bet that once she is there and gets back in the swing of everything, she'll be happier about it.
OH WOW!!!!! You bought land! :woohoo: Were you looking to do that or was it just a really good opportunity? I am so excited for you! I can only imagine how happy your family is to know you'll be back, even if just part-time. You must have had a wonderful time seeing all of the kids too. What a weekend!

Did I get to everyone>? I feel like I am missing someone-- if I am, I am so sorry! But I need to get my day started, grocery pick up is soon and then I have to pay bills :(

WOW! Lots of news! The beginnings of a family "compound" in Iowa sounds wonderful!!! When I watch Blue Bloods and the Reagan family are enjoying Sunday dinner together I envision my kids and grands being around a table twice the size of theirs, LOL! That would be a little piece of heaven to me! And a family compound would be almost heaven! My son in Alabama actually has enough property up on top of a hill that we could have a family compound! WOW! Something to dream about! ;). So happy for you! :heartpumplove:

No, not allergies. It is a cold and landed "in the weakest spot" as my dad would say.....my head! LOL! Actually, it is more in my throat. I'm better, however, but mostly because the headache is not as bad as yesterday. Yesterday I had a headache that I could not get rid of! I tried to rest in bed, but the headache was worse, so I spent most of the day leaning back in the recliner. The headache finally went away around 10 PM. I didn't go to bed until 11:30 since I had catnapped all day. It did take me a while to get to sleep.....maybe 1 a.m. I was up by 8 this morning with a slight headache and the sore throat. I will do some gargling when I brush my teeth after I finish my coffee. Just planning another pj day. I will probably stay home from church tonight so I don't infect anyone, especially since our congregation is older. Mark and I are some of the younger members. This, too, shall pass!

Good Morning,
Not much going on. Still somewhat under the weather, so I'm making it another pj day. I may do some scrapping today. I did get a page done last night for the Use it All challenge of Karen's. Other than that I plan to just take it easy and spend the day in my recliner.
Hope this finds you doing well!
Have a great day!

I slept in until 9AM this morning. Can't do that tomorrow as I have an Ortho doctor's appointment at 9AM. Will set the alarm to make sure I am up in time. We had 3 small rains yesterday but only got less than .10" from all of them. The last one in the early evening cooled temps down into the mid-70's so I had the house opened before I went to bed. The downside is the higher humidity caused the arthritis to flare up especially in the hands and back.

Good afternoon.

SO much news in here today! Linda @LSlycord that's such wonderful news about the new property purchase!! If I had it to do all over again, we would have spent our summers in Michigan and our winters in Florida. Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing. Oh well, you do what you think is the right thing to do at the time and it all worked out and now we live on our wonderful compound. Steph and Asher are here! Well, not HERE, but right over the state line - in Missouri it's a heck of a lot closer than Florida, that's for sure! Asher had come out with his dad a week and a half ago, and Steph arrived Monday evening - she drove the whole way by herself. She had never done that before and she said she never wanted to do it again. Haha. She stopped once in Chatanooga at a Holiday Inn.

My parents and one sister lived in Indiana, and I made that trip from SW FL to Indy many many times, by myself. I finally got to the place where I drove straight through - if I couldn't hold my eyes open any longer, I'd pull into a rest area and sleep for a couple of hours. Back then lots of people did that and I never felt unsafe - just locked my doors and keep my car running for the AC. A couple of my trips were pretty hairy - leaving FL and driving into the bad winter weather. I had to go up in January once for my parents' anniversary party. One time, in Atlanta, at about midnight (coming home) they had the roads all closed and I got horribly lost in a pretty bad area. Fortunately, I had OnStar and back then, they actually talked to you and one of them stayed on the line with me until I got back out on 75. (Did I mention that I hate to fly????)

Chris @faerywings yes, that's a lot of dogs and I should have mentioned that Sam plops himself right on top of my big truck/coffee table so he can be ready to swat them if they bug him too much. He IS the boss, you know. Yes, I LOVED your skellie pictures and now I need a Rex! I got Tex on Amazon, so I need to start looking. Ava got me Lex and she came with the cowboy hat and bandana on. LOL Yes, today is WEDNESDAY - you're cleaning for your friend and Casey just called that she WILL be here tomorrow - THURSDAY. She also said she has a case of wine for me - somebody gave it to her and it's not the kind she likes, but the kind I like. I love that girl! We pay her to clean our house and she brings me wine. :dancing6::wine4::drinkbuddies:

Vicky @vickyday hope you get to feeling better. Do you guys get flu shots? We swear by them and have been getting them for years and years. I swear they help. It seems like the kids have something all the time and we might get a tiny bit of it occasionally, but nothing major. I'm due for my pneumonia shot this year too - it's been five years.

Kay @BrightEyes you're getting to be a real late sleeper. LOL It feels good, doesn't it? I never make early appts - I'd never get there. The receptionists seem to think because we're retired that we get up at the crack of dawn. The first thing out of their mouth is an early appt. We always say we need afternoon. They're like, "oh yes, we have an afternoon". My dad was the same way. After getting up for years and having to be AT work AT 7:30, no thank you. We have gotten quite a bit of rain here - we desperately needed it too. It rained again early this morning. I wasn't up of course, but it sounded wonderful on our metal roof.

Rae @bcgall I hope you have your running shoes on. Things are happening so fast! I'm sure you'll keep up with it all.

I need to go check the board. I have two different challenges running that I need to check on.

XOXO

Thanks, but I've never gotten the flu shots and don't plan to. Some people swear by them. I can count the number of times on one FINGER I have had the flu. This is not the flu, definitely. I am feeling better today. It's mostly settled in my throat with a slight headache this afternoon. If I still have any symptoms tomorrow I am going to start with a covid test we have here.

I hear you loud and clear, but they don't only help with the flu, they also help with colds. That's what people don't understand. But I accept your feelings.
