I have been watching the weather reports and updates on Idalia and am sending lots of good thoughts to everyone affected by this storm. It seems to be getting stronger as it passes over the Gulf and scarier as well. If you live in the area, please check in when you can.
NJ and a lot of the Middle Atlantic states are having heavy rain today too, but nothing like FL. It will be a good day to stay in and get some work done around here. The past couple of days have been scattered and chopped up. As I get older, I have a harder time transitioning from one thing to the next. Has anyone else experienced that as well? Not only that, but I get distracted way easier too.
(I'm turning into my mom and while that has its good side, sometimes it's a little concerning )
Otter is doing better after the cortisone but wow, she scared the you-know-what out of me yesterday morning. I went to check on her before I went to my mom's and I couldn't find her. She had been on the bottom level of the cage when I had seen her an hour earlier. she wasn't coming out of the house on that level. I am pulling the bedding out of the cage (It was like the scene in A Christmas Story with the Major Award). I am shaking the bucket of the good treats. The other two are trying to desperately get my attention but all I can think is where is Otter???? Is she alive???
I finally look at the top level (the cage is about 5' and has 4 levels) and she is hanging out in the little house. Just chilling. Because she was unsteady and her tail was weak, Cait didn't want her all the way up there in case she lost her balance and fell. I bring the little house to the bottom level and then put her down too. The next thing I see is her climbing up to the third level. I figure that she knows what she is capable of, right?
There is no way to tell how long the cortisone will last but as Caitlyn said last night, every day is a gift. ♥
The other good news is that the seamstress said that she sees no problem with the hem of the dress. I tried it on with 2" heels and that made a difference. If I can get my ankle strong enough to wear 3" ones, that will be even better. Overall-- a very good day.
Today I am grateful that Otter is doing good!
