Happy Wednesday to you all. I had two free days this week (Th and Fri) and both went *poof* yesterday so this is not really a hump day, but the beginning of the incline. It is a huge testimony to me being in remission because there would be absolutely no way I could do this is I wasn't. Just the thought of it would have put me in tears.
(Talk to me Friday night and see if I still feel that way LOL)
I am blond (ish) again! The color looks good. I got at least 4" cut off. It is still past my shoulders so I can have a short ponytail but wow, there was a lot of hair on the floor. I like it. I think it was time to have a more grown-up look. I sent my BFF a pic and she loved it.

Today I am food shopping then cleaning. I usually don't double up but I didn't have much of a choice. But it should be ok. TTYL! hugs!

Kay- did the cold front come by you yet? I hope that you get it soon. Me-- I am hoping that it warms up a bit. It was 61* yesterday morning.
I bet that your cousin is happy to be back home, I know I would be. Oh yes, I normally get as little as possible off my dead ends, so even 4" is *huge* for me. It is going to be weird when I wash my hair for the first time.

Nancy- I am really sad that DS is having a difficult time. I understand how hard it is to be a parent and know that a hug and moral support isn't enough to make it "fixed," but you *are* making it better just by being there for him.

Felis- It might not feel like a win right now, but that you said No and stood up for yourself is a great thing. I wish the nastiness didn't happen but good for you for being strong.
I haven't planned for the September party other than making the list of the birthdays that we are celebrating--eight!!- but I will figure it out. Maybe...Hopefully...

xoxo

Morning, gals. Yesterday seem to zip by. Got a call from the financial guy and it took this long to get everything set up due to the trust. Had to do a phone conference to give verbal okay on what needed to be done. Still waiting to get confirmation that it is done. Did some scrapping but then took a break and read for awhile. Decided that I would get back on-line when I heard something.... looked out and it had started to rain along with thunder. By the time I got the computer shut down, I was hearing something else. Looked out to see hail coming down. Went from small dime size hail to over 1/2" size and bigger! It came down so hard I could barely see across the street. Lasted about 30 minutes then the sun came back out. The trees in the backyard lost about 1/4 of their leaves. They looked like there was green skirts all around the base of them. Dropped the temp down from mid-90's to 75 but then it shot back up to 90 within 30 minutes. So much for the cool front dropping the temps!!!

Heard from DD#2 that she is back at work this week after being off for almost 6 months due to cancer treatments. She is doing fine and more than ready to be back to work.

I have lunch with Son-i-L#3 today. Haven't done this since he fell and broke a vertebra in his back last year. He has finally recovered and out of his brace. He has some food to donate to a food pantry then we will go to a cafe that has 'free pie' with lunch on Wednesdays. He is retired and eats lunch out about once a week. Then I need to go to the grocery store.

Tomorrow is bill paying day then to Post Office and library.

Hope you all have a good day.

good morning - yesterday my DH made an appt for Luther at the vet. He seems to have gotten a bug bite on his muzzle and it is swollen as compared to the other side. Luther is now on antibiotics as he had a slight fever and a salve for his muzzle. Poor boy. But he takes his pills like a real trooper. My son went home last night and I have heard nothing so I think that is good though I will text him in a while and see. My DH and Luther had a good walk so that is good. Weather is cloudy and cool and maybe rain this afternoon. So since my DH was home I asked him to find our Alaska photos from 1976. He did find them in a box with lots of brochures. OMgosh they are awesome. He commented on just how few photos there were. And it true but this was back when it was 24-36 photos/roll. We also got a few from his sister who went with us on the trip and they are of people which my DH rarely takes. So the next few days I am scanning them in and will scrap them. I am super excited. Also found two really old photos and I love these. The best is my DH labeled each photo and where it was taken. I am so grateful. Now I can put them next to where we went on my last two Alaskan trips. When I scan they go to Dropbox so I went to youtube and looked for how to efficiently use Dropbox. I uploaded photos and actually sent a link to my girlfriend and she was able to download to her iPad so now she can take photos on that instead of taking the book. I was so happy that I got that to work. I feel like not so old as long as I am learning new things.

Chris hope the shopping and cleaning go well. Sorry that the next two days got filled up! So happy you are happy with your new shorter and blonde hair! I bet it will grow fast so you can have a longer ponytail. Congrats by the way on the GSO for your page with W. Such a sweet face! My DH just told me his classes begin a week from today so I bet your kids are gearing up too for their last year.

Kay what a storm! Did your plums survive? That is a lot of leaves to lose! Several years ago while visiting my Aunt in Kansas a storm came through with hail and it broke some of her windows. My sister had never seen such a storm and was shocked by the size of the hail and how violent the storm was. At least no tornado! That is crazy how the temp dipped and then rose so fast! Kay I wonder if your cousin is happy now in Florida with the first tropical storm/hurricane coming her way!

Felis sorry you had such a bad day. It is hard to stop being the one who always fixes problems and then finally puts their foot down. Sounds like your co-worker needs to learn to accept responsibility for their mistakes and not drag you into the problem.

Waving to all have a great day!

Good Morning ladies... I'm baaack!! Well sort of, I will be here to open the new thread for the challenges etc. I decided that I was not going to be on the computer until the end of this month. I have been one very busy granny!! What a wonderful visit with everyone, but OMG I was pooped out! So I took this extra time to get myself rested up and try to get organized again so I can come back here feeling refreshed! Some of you may have seen on my facebook page that I got back to painting and it really felt good to return to my artwork! Today I will be going through all the photos that we took over the summer and get some of them printed out. I was pretty much unplugged for over a month and it will take some time for me to catch up on all the happenings around here! I will try to bring you up to date with everything that happened over my summer, but for now I just wanted to say hey and hope that you are all doing well!! Sure missed everyone!

Trudy! How nice to see you here again! Sure missed you. Love hearing you're painting again as I know that makes you happy. Waiting to learn all about your grand summer.

Nothing special here today but it is pretty out. Yesterday had a little light rain but not much. Saw my primary care person yesterday and have now reduced dosage of my med which I was hoping for. You know that made me a happy person.

Chris, we want to see the new hair! Sorry your unplanned days this week filled up. Sure hope you get through the week in fine shape.

Kay, what a wild weather day you had! Sure wish you could share some of that heat with Chris (but not me!) Hope your plums survived the hail.

Nancy, fingers crossed for DS. Doing the old Alaska photos seems exciting to me. How many trips does that make? Such interesting contrasts you'll have over them. Boy do I remember the difference in photographing between then and now! Saturday when I was doing butterflies and stuff I took over 40 shots, some of them turning out really well and many not. But with digital I can do as many as possible. Not back in the old film days though. Are you watching the tennis? We got to see Rafa win last night, but that's just first round.

Felis, I'm proud of you for sticking up for yourself! Crummy that it wasn't an easy thing to do, but you knew it couldn't keep on that way. You've been on a roll with LOs this month! Loving them. I've got to do a weekly for last year for last week.

Wishing everyone a sunny day with your chosen temperature (not than anyone will actually get that). LOL

Back from lunch with Son-n-law. Wow.. the sandwich was so good... turkey, bacon and avocado with lettuce/tomato on toasted multi-grain bread! Really enjoyed it and brought home a slice of strawberry-rhubarb pie for dessert tonight. I had take him to see the backyard before we left and he pointed out that cover over the large BBQ grill was shredded - along with the top of the case for the bbq tools was dented from the hail storm! So we stopped at BigLots on the way home and bought a new cover for the grill.

Nancy, yes, I was lucky that no windows were broken from the force of the hailstones. We had worse in the past so knew to stay away from the windows during the storm. I was lucky that most of the plums survived the hail... think it was because most of them are on the lower branches and were partly protected by the upper branches. My cousin has lived in FL off and on for almost 50 years so she is well aware of how hurricanes can hit the area. She rode out a few of them in the past.

Know what you mean about searching for 'lost' photos from the past. I am missing 2 years worth that I still haven't located. They probably got lost during one of the last 3-4 moves we made. << Sigh >> You are right, when taking film photos we didn't take as many due to the limited number of them on a roll - 24 or 36. Glad you DH located yours for you.

Hey, Chris... will we recognize you with blond hair??? LOL... looking forward to see the 'do'.

Hey, TRUDY!!! So glad to see you back again. You have been missed. Glad you are doing more of your painting. Sounds like the break was what you needed.

Good morning girls,
Things never resolved with the end of the day as I wish. So I feels as I swim without direction in impetuous river. I can't find the concrete word to describe this. Thank you for your encouraging words, I love you all! From these working stuff I don't think I have time to happens something that deserve to be to shared.

Trudy, I'm so happy to see you popping! You miss me, dear! Enjoy your extra time offline! Can't wait to hear more about your summer! I'm so happy that you are got back to painting!!! At some reason I can't find your Etsy shop and was worried that this could discourage you!

Jean, hooray for the reduced dosage of med! 'm really happy to hear that! After your hospitalization was difficult episode, but Do you feels your health improvement now? OH, L O L you are so right about the photography, I have tons of similar photos just for case. I don't know how you are do it before the digital age, as I started to shooting late, maybe was after the college. :photo: My dad still insist that the digital photography is take off the charm of the process. He is had one of these old Leica Camera, and he really sorry that my grandma is not save his photos after he is moving in new home. I have to do 2 of my weekly page at once at weekend, but love this project because have no rush in it! Just journalling and then translating takes me too much time.

Oh Chris, take it easy, I hope we to be able to find you in good mood in Saturday, please don't overload yourself too much :target:! And good luck with all tasks in your list these days! Show us your new hair, pleaseeee!!!

Nancy, hope Luther will be fine! How fun and cool about the old trip photos! Will love to see your upcoming pages!

Kay, lovely contrast in your story how outside weather is awful, but with your family things looks brighter finally, I'm happy for you!
