The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
hey my O-Fam!!! I am here, physically at least. mentally-- man, I am a mess!!!!
It has been a rough return to "Real Life" the last few days. The first day back, I was soooo happy to be home and so excited to sleep in my own bed. Except that when I tried to sleep, my brain would not turn off. I think I got about 3-4 hours of really crappy sleep that night. So yesterday I had to unpack, do some laundry and clean out the refrigerator because apparently Gary didn't see that the watermelon from the week before was turning to mush and that some of the bread was fuzzy and so on. I have total post-vacation let down, and was tired and stressed to the max.
This morning, I feel somewhat better considering I was able to sleep until 4 am when I woke up in a total panic attack. i tried so hard to get back to sleep, then I tired so hard to relax to some meditation podcasts and nothing was working, so here I am.

Vacations were ok. PA was a bit more relaxing than the shore. We barely got in any beach time and we had to be on the boardwalk *every* night which I hate, but I felt super rude to not go. The 4 teenagers pretty much did their own thing and Scott's GF's mom, who rented the house for the week, likes to go to the boardwalk, so I went too. But the noise and lights and crowds aren't good for my sensory overload issues-- I learned to take half a Xanax before we went if I was feeling already a bit fried.

The house we stayed in was just adorable and I loved walking on the beach in the mornings. The first morning we did that, we found what we thought was a super-cool shell and when we proudly showed it to the kids, they told us it was a plastic bottle cap that someone had chewed. The next morning we found what looked to be a bit of driftwood with a slug or something like that dried onto it. No luck there either. Turns out it was an orange peel. Third morning we were on a *mission*--- and found an almost fully intact horseshoe crab (yes, it was dead LOL). We dug that sucker up and Arlene carried it home. The kids were sooooo not impressed. hahahah!!! We were however and we even named it. Sealy, one letter for each kids' initial and then the "y" to make it cute.
The last morning we got to walk, we found a plastic fish, and a pistachio shell. The kids were proud that we finally brought home a shell, even if it wasn't a sea shell. ;)

Today I am off to go food shopping and both kids want to come with me. :eek2:Not sure if that is good or bad.

I also have so much catching up to do here, I have missed you all so much!

xoxoxo

Chris so happy to have you back- so sorry that reality hit though. Today - I don't know- excited that the sun is out for now. Feeling that back to school fall/winter is coming feeling and I don't even have children going to school!!

Good morning! Today is a fall day and I am not ready at all for the fall to be here. It is gorgeous with a blue sky and low humidity. Yesterday too much rain but got in a good walk in the evening with my girlfriend so that was good. Must mow lawn today but need it to dry a bit first. Not much else going on.

Chris sorry for the vacation let down. Enjoy the day probably one of the best of the year.

Phylis your weekend with the grand men sounds fun and tiring. Wow lots of towels.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Chris, sweetie. THIS is why you'll always be OK:

The last morning we got to walk, we found a plastic fish, and a pistachio shell. The kids were proud that we finally brought home a shell, even if it wasn't a sea shell.
anyone who can see the "laugh" while living through feeling icky will always come out the other end. cheers, Faery.

Laurie, it's this time of year, when the locusts are rasping out back in the evening that I can hear my son (at about 10 years old) saying, "Uh Oh...it's the End of Summer Bugs!!"

Nancy, it IS looking like fall, isn't it? it's downright COLD here this morning. but, you're right. it's at least LOOKING good!

still trying to get caught up with the laundry. i'm washing and drying the last set of sheets. then i'm DONE with the weekend laundry. today i'm going to try to figure out some organization that will allow me to have ALL of my kitchen countertops clear. I usually keep my date book and random papers I need to remember spread out on half my (limited) counter space. i'm DETERMINED to figure out a way to get ALL of my countertop space clear and useable for KITCHEN stuff! this will probably take me all day and involve my making a pile of the stuff I removed from the kitchen and putting it someplace ELSE where it can't stay.

hope everyone has a lovely day. don't just WAIT for "lovely" to happen. MAKE it happen for you, even if it's just in a small way. chocolate. that might be the answer.... :becky:

Ohhhh guys!!! If you don't want fall to start, hightail it down here!! It's been over 100 degreesF all week!! And my kids go back to school next week. I'm not ready to be a responsible adult! LOL!!!

Chris, I always feel conflicted about taking the kids to the grocery store, too!! Are they going to ask for the moon? Or are they going to actually get something they will eat??? And of course, they can load up the car...Sigh...Super big hugs to you and your sleeping!! ♥

Laurie, you can borrow my kids!!! eeeek!! :) happy sunny day!

Nancy, ohhhh I envy you your cooler walks...yep, it's all about the temps down here! :)

Phylis, you are awesomesauce!!!! I love this: "don't just WAIT for "lovely" to happen. MAKE it happen for you, even if it's just in a small way. chocolate. that might be the answer.... "
and YES!! Chocolate is the answer today! Chocolate cake...for sure!! :)

Hugs to everyone! waving to everyone who comes in after me! love you all!!!
