The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Well, yesterday was bright and sunny, not as warm as I would have liked but I was outside for a long time. That was the best part of the day. Redoing the taxes and trying to organize all of the envelopes and stamps and signatures- that was not fun. Nope. Thank goodness that I noticed that I had the wrong return in one of the envelopes and was able to get it before the mail came. I don't know what hell I would have unleashed by sending the State Return to the Federal address. That in itself took most of the morning.
Outside was wonderful though. I saw a couple of more toads. They really can camouflage themselves. I was so worried that I was going to step on one of them (who would not move out of the way no matter how much I nudged and yes, he was alive LOL) that I ended up putting some rocks near him as a little barrier. The other little guy kept hopping back and forth between the few plants I was clearing leaves from. He was really cute and I had a nice conversation with him about the weather.

My mom and I made plans for me to go down and visit her on Friday. I am so excited! It will be nice to get out of the house in a social way and I get to hug her. Yay! She is already thinking of outdoor places we can go and grab a bite to eat.
Cait seems to be holding up ok after her second shot. She had night sweats but other than that, so far so good. *knocks wood*

Today is picking up the food order and then stuff around the house. I have tons of laundry to do. Yuck.
Have a wonderful day!

@nancyr I bet you had a great time outside yesterday, did you go on another bike ride? You must be so happy that your knees are all fixed up. My dad is already planning on fishing trips after his shoulder is done. You had a super productive day- no wonder you slept so well. I am so happy for you that you will be included in the wedding plans.
I am going to have to see if I can get any good pictures of the woodpecker. We have had them here for years but this is the first time I have seen babies.
I haven't seen much wildlife out and about but we are hoping to set up the trail came again soon. That was always fun to watch.

@taxed4ever I hope that you had better luck yesterday getting in contact with the insurance company. I don't blame you wanted to get that going asap especially if ants start to come in. Will vinegar help the stickiness at all? I know sometimes when I was cleaning, certain floor cleaners made it worse and hot water and vinegar would work better. Just a thought!
Oh no, poor Mr. Toad! The little guy didn't know what happened to him! haha!! It is incredible how far they can dig down and blend into the dirt.

@bcgal00 I never heard of a dog onesie but that makes sense. It sounds like when Caitlyn tried to make a little sweater for the rats out of socks after they were spayed. Hopefully, Jen will have better luck with Bella than she did with the bRats. Did Bella have to stay overnight? How did the double leash work? I had one for Harley and Ravyn but they were both very good walkers. I had asked about a No Pull-Leash since J is a horrible walker. Next time you think of it, can you let me know how they work? Thx!

@Cherylndesigns We have that system for DLs in NJ too- it is like you need everything plus a kidney to get it done. My mom's original BC was (she has the certified copy like you) burned in a fire at the hospital where she was born. What a PITB to get the records of it, especially since the hospital was closed decades ago. Must be such a relief to have your IDs taken care of finally- and pie is a perfect way to celebrate!
How fun to have the family all over for dinner- but you must have been dizzy from it all. :D
I am going to have to tell Scott how much Biotin you take- His hair is getting thin and he is pretty freaked out about it. I think he is taking Biotin already but I don't know how much.
I do love all of my creatures- Were you here last summer? If you weren't you will see me writing about all of my little convos I have with the bugs and toads and all that. I love that you had Bart!

Ugh again,. I am always running late, I talk way too much here. o_O Hugs!!!

Well it's Wednesday and my day to do whatever I want. Too bad there is nothing to do LOL. I did manage to get hold of the insurance broker yesterday. She is working from home so the only way to contact here was through e-mail. They of course suggested that perhaps we get a restoration company to come and clean our floors before we did our claim. WTH are they going to do that I already haven't done??? If they try to tear up any of the flooring to see if there is mold etc it will break as it is old laminate, then we would have to have it all replaced anyway. Who's going to pay for the restoration company??? Did not sound like the insurance company would. Then of course we will lose our 10% discount for not having any claims on our policy for three years. BIG DEAL!! 10% . I was not amused!! So we are waiting a bit to decide what to do, as DH figures the floors will really start to buckle and then we will have proof that these floors are damaged. I tried washing them again yesterday and still they are sticky and mushy and once you walk on them it tracks that all over the house. UGH!!

@faerywings - Yes I have tried vinegar and water to wash the floors with at first it seemed to help, but they just keep going all sticky again no matter how much I wash them. Whew glad you realized your mix up with the envelopes before they went out in the mail! OMG can you imagine the confusion??. How fun to be able to have a visit with your Parents! Yay for the hugs too, it has been far too long!! I hope you can go to a lovely outdoor patio for a meal together! Enjoy my friend! You deserve it! Hope you get all of your chores done around the house today! I should really start my grocery order also, but ya maybe tomorrow LOL. It's another sunny day here, but cooler than the past few and I should get outside and do some watering. No rain in the forecast for a couple more days and then a full week of it.

@bcgal00 - Sounds like you are just as busy as ever with work and CT stuff too! Hope that Bella gets through the spaying ok! A doggie onesie sounds so cute and so much nicer than wearing a cone!! Hope the double bungie leash works well for your walks with the dogs! Enjoy the lovely sunshine again today!

@Cherylndesigns - Sounds like you had a very hectic day yesterday, but how wonderful to be surrounded by all of your family! I miss mine so very much :(! What a frustrating time you have had getting your licences, but thankfully it is all done now finally! What a relief!! Any news yet about when you will have wifi??

Well I am in need of my second cup of coffee and then I am actually going to open my photoshop and scrap a page finally! I am woefully behind on my cheeryO duties! Have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon, Lovelies.

Chris @faerywings - tell Scott that I buy my Biotin at Walgreen's and get it when it's Bogo. I take 10,000 mcg (I think I said mg yesterday). You can take twice that - when I had my bout with hyperthyroidism, my doctor told me to double what I was taking. One of the side effects is mild hair loss and she didn't want me to experience that. I don't even know how many years I've been taking it, a whole lot if I can't remember. Haha

So, your mom knows what we went through! How in the "H" are you supposed to get your original birth certificate and especially if it was lost in a fire??? It's crazy! Then I forgot to tell you girls - when he got ready to take my picture, he said to back up against the wall (it wasn't a wall, it was a sheet that looked like a wall). I darned near fell backwards. Only I could do that.

No, I wasn't here last summer, so I'm looking forward to your critter talk. I talk to them too - especially the spider. I say "you're not going to get away from me" as I step on them. We've had a bumper crop of them - well actually a bumper crop to me is like 10. We DO live in the wilderness after all. Roger sprayed all around the outside of the house over the weekend, and I've seen 3 or 4 since. I think he drove them out of their hidey holes. Awesome!!

We had a lot of fun with Bart. Visitors weren't amused with him, though. My oldest DD is terrified of frogs so she was freaked out. He fell in the pool one day and we freaked out! My gs rescued him and he was fine. I know they can swim, I think, but I wanted to get him out of the chlorine. I did a couple of layouts, so I probably still have pictures. We loved the gekkoes, too and most people are freaked out by them. We had a black one that I got some good pictures of. He hung around for quite awhile.

Trudy @taxed4ever I'm so sorry about your accident! You're so right about that measly 10%! It seems like the insurance that you buy and "think" you have, you never really have. There is always a catch - I just hate the way things like that have gotten. Used to, if you had insurance, they fixed it. They always try to sell us insurance on our phones, but they hardly cover anything and there's a huge minimum.

Do you think you'll have to get all new flooring? It's always something, isn't it? Yes, we are very blessed to be all living together here. They've all had covid and have had the antibody tests and our SIL still got the covid vaccine. We get our 2nd ones tomorrow.

Good news - I'm not holding my breath - BUT we may have wifi in the next couple of weeks!!! The Lakes Region guys have been out here working and I guess they're about ready to make it happen. Our houses are all up on the hill, so I realize they have a lot of cable to lay. My DD and SIL's house, that's under construction, still have no electricity. They're doing all of the work with generators. So, they'll get electricity at the same time we all get wifi. WooHoo!! I had to go down the hill today to get my files for Karen's pre-release. We may be entering the New Millennium!!!

It's a little warmer today but going down below freezing again tonight. I have a hallway full of ferns. Hopefully, I can take them out leave them there soon.

Waving to all and sending hugs.

good evening - well today was fun. My youngest came and got me and I got to watch Frozen II with Livie. Then after she and her brother were dropped at their dad's we went to the wedding venue. Well they fell in love with it. OMgosh I had no idea how much wedding now cost. They settled on Sat. afternoon, Nov. 20th. All I can say is that the cost of a Sat. night is twice as expensive as Sat. afternoon. But fortunately they realized that they had kids and so do most of their family and friends so for them having it in the afternoon makes sense. Whew that was easy as the place does the ceremony and food. They are on their way and so happy for them. Then went to dinner. Yummy. No bike or walk. But who cares I am a happy mom. My poor Devils. They played the Penguins last night. They went down 6-0 and it was like they forgot how to play. Then they started the 3rd period and scored 6 goals. But they gave up one to Sidney Crosby so the final score was 7-6. But my team can play and score now if they could do it for 3 periods not just the 3rd my team my win a game. But they are the second team eliminated from play-offs poor guys. I do have to give them credit for never giving up!

@faerywings Chris OMgosh it got so cold today. Thunderstorms around 2pm but just wind and a few drops and then the cold front has come through. Back to having the heat on. I want warm weather. Glad you had fun in the soil. We have rabbits in our back yard but have not seen any toads. Glad that Cait is doing well after her shot. Glad you get to hug your mom soon!

@taxed4ever Trudy I am so sorry for your floor. What annoys me so much about insurance companies is that they think it is their money. No we have paid them boat loads of money which they then invest and then when you have a claim they don't want to give you your money back. Such a joke. Hope it works out. I cant imagine that you like tracking it through the rest of your home.

@bcgal00 Rae have fun with puppies and CT work.

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl OMgosh I have DMVs. At least we can register our cars on line and we no longer have to have tags on our license plates but we do have to have new inspection stickers each year. I hate going so much that I take it to a gas station and pay for it. We have to have a new drivers license by Oct. to fly so I am not looking forward to having to renew mine. Glad you finally got it done! Love that you will be getting internet soon!

Have a great day all!
