Can I please go back to bed, cover my head, stick my fingers in my ears, and go :lalala:
I guess that literally I *can* but the question is should I? Probably not if we want to eat for the week and celebrate Caitlyn's birthday today. It was so strange to not celebrate yesterday, normally I would decorate with a birthday banner and make a fuss for her. I was still working on her card and gift as she was popping in and out of my room to print papers for school.

I was able to get almost everything off of my to-do list. I am still hobbling a bit especially by the end of the day. I am surprised that I am still hurting. I know that Kay said that she was sore for a week and I guess I am on track for that.

Today is food shopping and I am making Italian bread in the machine to go with Gary's penne and vodka.

That is about it. I know I am 100% boring. heh.

Gratitudes:
-That I am out of bed and not going :lalala:
-W kept my feet warm last night
-that I am trying to be proactive in Get Out the Vote efforts and have my letters almost ready to be written
-Gary is driving me to ShopRite- for no reason other than to be helpful and hey- I accepted help! LOL

Jean- What a fab idea to drive-thru flu shots. Thank you for the birthday wishes for Caitlyn, I will be sure to tell her today. I am still in shock over RBG too. It has been a lot to process and I am scared of the two names being floated as replacements.
Thta is so awesome about the art show, do you have a piece already in mind to enter?
If you need more pictures of Rita for inspiration I can send some to you :spider: :pound:

Trudy- I guess it felt good to be outside and doing some work in the fresh air for your ILs and I bet they really appreciated it. It had to be such a relief that your Gary only had to fix the downspout. I am LMBO at your :loco: at the figurines.
How did the appt with the stroke clinic go, did you get an update from your SIL? What a hard time for you family :(
TY for the birthday wishes for Caitlyn too! I hope she likes the gift, but how can anyone not love Leah's art? She is selling like crazy. Cait is doing well too, she is getting orders for her stickers as well as the plush.
There is a rat that is famous in the Rat World, his name is Ice Cube. He was a rat that someone dumped and was found freezing but alive by amazing rat mama. He lost his feet, hands, and tail due to frostbite but other than that is great! Cait made an Ice Cube sticker and sent it to his mama who gave her permission to use any of his images for stickers and said that she will help promo them. :)

Cheryl- I am so darn happy and excited for you!! It has to be an incredible feeling to watch all of the progress! What a special time for your family!
Haha! I can't imagine having g-kids as old as mine are now. Part of that is that my kids don't want kids, but that is a different issue, I guess ;)

Morning all. Yesterday was a day of frustration when trying to work on the computer... AGAIN!!! It was back to acting up with log-ins. Then suddenly shut down with no warning as I was scrapping! Thank goodness I had done a save on the psd of LO just a few minutes before so didn't lose much. Ended up clearing cache, cookies and history and then doing a restart. I gave it up as soon as I got a few log-ins and quit for the day. Found an old favorite book and got lost in it for the rest of the day. Keeping my fingers crossed today as the log-ins are there today.

Noticed that all the trees around here are starting to turn and lose their leaves. Guess the 'cooler' night temps [50* -60*] has signaled that autumn is arriving - even though our daytime temps are still in the high 80's. Looks like we have another week at least of those temps. I know that many in the northern sections have had their temps much lower and fall is there for sure.

Chris, I feel your pain from the fall... yep - I ached for quite awhile afterwards. Sending healing thoughts your way. Ooohhh... homemade Italian bread... yummy! I hope that Cait has a wonderful Birthday celebration... as I am sure you are working to make it special for her.

Trudy... wow, you guys did a major clean-up for the In-laws. Glad your MiL is so organized - that probably helped gets things put away. 100's of figurines/statues!!! What a challenge to get them all cleaned, wrapped and put away. So glad it was just a loose downspout so your DH wasn't up on the ladder very long.

Jean, glad to hear you got your annual flu shot... great thing that it was a drive-thur setup with appointments. The slight reactions I had after mine has finally gone away. Worth it to know that I have some protection for this fall/winter. Good luck if you decide to enter the art show... and I had to  over Chris offering you some photos of Rita if you need them!

Cheryl, I enjoyed your photo spread so much. Yes, do let us know when you add more to it. It is wonderful to see the progress on the house.

Time to get my shower and get dressed. CYL

Another day of nothing different I guess. It is nice out though.

Chris, hope Cait is enjoying her birthday celebration even though a day after. Wonder what she makes of having a set of virtual "grandmas" at the O who all want to wish her a happy birthday. And if you would send me photos of Rita, she just might be a great inspiration (I'll PM you my email). So far I'm planning to start with a beetle and hadn't given a thought to the spider side yet, but she is certainly special. Nice Gary was driving to the store today and yes, we're happy to see you accepting help. Hoping your aches and pains go away soon.

Kay, I'm just mystified by your computer problems. Something just doesn't seem right. Any of your family who are computer gurus and could advise? I'm with you on burying frustration in a good book. I think your temperatures ATM sound wonderful. Fall is starting to show here with a little color in the trees and pumpkin and cornstalk displays outside the grocery store. I still have a hard time feeling in tune with the seasons, maybe we're all stuck in March.

Trudy, what good kids you and your MG are! That was a lot of work but to excellent effect. Hope SiL got the straight story from the stroke doc and the news is not too bad. Sure hope H gets a day alone soon. I know I need alone time of some sort a lot and always have. Sorry you're having rain that may do in the hike tomorrow.

Cheryl, that is an ambitious project your family has undertaken but what a great result it will be. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Nancy, are you enjoying the Stanley Cup finals? Last night we were surprised to find Monday Night Football back on free TV so we could watch that.

Grateful for
sunshine
lots of genealogy online
thoughts of artwork

Hi everyone!! I am very late in arriving here today, but can't stay and do personals :sorry: Waiting on a phone call from SIL Linda and have been on the phone most of the morning with the In-Laws, so I will see just how straight they got their stories LOL. Also putting in a big Norwex order today and have been talking to people all day for that too! My ear feels like it might fall off LOL. Anyway from what the In-Laws say the phone conference went well so that is good. I also have to get a birthday card made for the little guy across the street from us, it is his birthday on Sunday and we are invited to go for a social distance party. It should be fun! But what to get for a gift?? :noidea: Oh Oh the phone is ringing so I gotta go again :bolt: TTYL!

Hello all! Night owl here. Hahaha I've had a busy day. My granddaughter Ava picked me up this afternoon and we went to Walmart to do some serious shopping. It's poured down rain ALL day, but we braved the rain and went anyway.

We had SO much fun - we filled one cart to overflowing and I finally found a pair of cute rubber (tall) boots! I also found a really cool hooded raincoat. I wanted to make sure the boots were comfy, so I took mine off - put them in the cart - and wore the new ones all the time we were in the store. We got almost up to the checkout and I remembered I had the unpurchased boots on. They were hooked together, but the elastic string was really long so it didn't impede my walking. I darned near walked right out in them. Hahaha Then I couldn't get them off - so Ava had to pull them off of me. We were laughing so hard.

Chris, your comments made me feel so good. I'm glowing right now. We are SO lucky to be able to do this great adventure as a family. SO blessed. Don't you love that I have gk's as old as your daughter? I could be your mom. I'd love another daughter. Come on out and join the "clan".

Kay, I'll definitely update my album when I add pictures. I haven't taken any for a couple of days - well, I took some of the gk's but I THINK they're going to start putting the insulation in - so I should have some new pictures soon.

I HATE to hear about all the problems you're still having with your computer. How totally frustrating!!

Nancy, it has and will continue to be a huge undertaking. It's been in the works for well over 2 years and it's finally happening! Glad you enjoyed the pictures.

Kay, sounds like you spent a great deal of time on the phone today. I have days like that, too. I spend quite a bit of time on mine, as it is.

Hope everybody is getting tucked in for the night. It's midnight here (we're on Central Time now) and I'll probably be up for another hour or so.
