The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Hello, O-fam! Another night of sleeping like a rock- at least until 4 or so this morning. However, even after that point, I was able to get back into a lighter sleep. No wonder, I worked my butt off again. Not outside, sadly, but I am trying to get my house semi-presentable for the family coming here on Sunday for Caitlyn's birthday. I stripped everything off my bed, sheets, blankets, and comforter. Washed all of the wineglasses that hang over the island. I think the last time I did that was before Christmas and they were grimy. (All except one that gets washed much more frequently. Guess that one is mine :angelwhistle:) I ended up using a Magic Eraser on them because the sponge/dish soap was not getting all of the sticky dust off.
I *thought* I had a menu prepared too- but after talking to my mom, she can't eat either of the main courses. I was going to make a tofu/broccoli/potato sheet pan and garlicy broccoli rabe pasta. I knew that she wouldn't touch the tofu, and she can't eat cooked broccoli or potatoes (too much potassium for her kidney disease). Go figure, she can't eat broccoli rabe either. Makes sense since that is in the same family as regular broccoli but now I don't know what else to make. Pfft.

I poked around at the grant requirements and came up with some brainstorming ideas that may or may not be appropriate. I passed that info along to the team. I also got a newsletter email from the ANJEE conference- and you are not going to believe this-- but we *are* presenting! Hahah! I texted Nicole to ask her what in the world I need to do to prepare. The workshop is different than what I had in my mind (eco-anxiety), but it's about moss and lichens, which is her area of expertise. She did her Master's Research on mosses, so at least she knows what she is doing. I don't know where my brain is lately, but I had it all backwards.

There are 4 workshop sessions and I have so many that I want to attend of the other three sessions. There are at least two in each slot that I would love be at. I need a Time Turner!

Other than picking up groceries, I don't have anything specific that must get done. I probably (eeew) should clean another room before the weekend, but I'd rather not. *pouts*

Have fun whatever you do today!

I had to quickly post the AJ challenge just now as the date slipped up on me, too!
Ooooh, you know what I need to do today? Scrap Week 3 and then begin my Week 4 wrap-up. I won't have any free time this weekend.
Were you able to eat successfully yet?
I want to do some work in the kitchen cabinets today.....YUCK!!!
Noooo! Don't do it! :devil2:
You'll make me feel guilty that I dusted the fronts of my cabinets but not the tops.
NO! Hate it! Hate all things pumpkin except the actual pumpkin turned jack-o-latern.
Really? I like pumpkin to eat and smell. Just not everywhere all at once. Cait sent me a recipe for a pumpkin risotto that I'll make this week.
Three more days. They said day 10 and she had surgery the 8th. We will remove them ourselves. No need to take her in. Thankfully its just four stitches.
That will be much less stressful for her, poor baby probably hates the vet at this point. Jaida tries to open the door at the office to go back outside. At least she gets extra pets when she sees Sam behind the desk.
I was looking last night just in case the time difference worked in my favor :floorlaugh:
You are so funny!! :rotfl:

@AK_Tracy -- I ordered the B-12s, how long do you think it will take to notice any improvement? My stupid POTS has been so awful by the end of the day that it's making me feel crazy and terrible.

OOOPS! Well, hopefully Nicole will be the lead and you will be there only for moral support! ;)

Popping in to say I am alive... Covid knocked me for a loop...and I have spent all of the time in bed. Will be checking if I am negative tomorrow (1st test). Still feeling very tired so not up to doing anything. I manage to get food for myself now that DD#3 has gone home. She tested negative on Sat. Heading back to bed as soon as I get some breakfast.

Good morning,
Nothing on the docket today...not really. I need to do some paperwork and clean up my area around my chair, but other than that, I will go to lunch with Mark and then I think I will run to B&B Works to get my "free" item (after spending $100, LOL). My dad used to say, "If it's free, it's for me!" Yeah, well, to me, if it is free, it just means you have just spent mega bucks in order to get the one little item as free, LOL! That's usually the way it ends up for me, anyway! I also might go by the Wild Birds Unlimited store and get another Cranberry Column. I'm still seeing hummers at the feeder, too! I need to figure out where to move the bird bath because where I have it hanging right now is by the feeders. All the birds do is land on it before hopping over to the feeders when they see the coast is clear, and pooping in the bird bath! It is the nastiest thing to clean up! I always wear rubber gloves when I'm dealing with the feeders and bath containers, however. The bird bath needs a good scrub right now!

We have made plans for the church family to come in a couple weeks for a "Fireside Fellowship" down in the woods at our cabin and pits. Lots of work to do down there to get ready for that. Mark "piles" all of his equipment and "stuff" he works on in the woods in the cabin and under the shelter. Plus the tables get grimy sitting in the elements, even though they are under a shelter. It will be fun, however. I'm fixing chicken stew and everyone will bring something to go with it. Our pastor's wife is bringing chili for those who possibly don't like chicken stew! I would rather have veggies added to mine, but everyone around here likes it "plain"!

Have a great day!

Were you able to eat successfully yet?
Let's just say that I was able to eat more than I have been in awhile.
Scrap Week 3 and then begin my Week 4 wrap-up.
I want to start working on my Week 4 soon.
Noooo! Don't do it! :devil2:
I didn't! :floorlaugh:
You'll make me feel guilty that I dusted the fronts of my cabinets but not the tops.
HA! Our cabinet tops run to the ceiling and now I feel (slightly) guilty for not cleaning the fronts of my cabinets. Oh, who am I kidding! I don't feel the least bit guilty! However, I did gander at them around the pulls when the light hit them a certain way this morning.....they really do need to be cleaned.......one of these days! ;)

So glad to hear you are on the mend, Kay! Keep resting! The tiredness took me FOREVER to get back to normal!

Last week was pretty slow but this week looks to be quite a marathon. We are forecast to maybe (60%) get some rain today, which will be nice, but it won't be enough to catch up to the deficit of the last half of summer. But temps will be cool, so I bought a chicken that was on sale yesterday, with the plan of a roast chicken, baked potato, and collards for dinner. There's something I don't cook over the summer! I also really need to clean out the refrigerator. Bleah.

I am taking an online course on the science of climate change, and had to finish the first week's work by today, so I stayed up last night to get it done. Reminds of me of those days 50+ years ago cramming in the dorm, except then staying up late was 1 or 2 o'clock. Last night it meant, like, 10:30.

My son-in-law came back from a business trip Friday with covid so they're dividing him out into his safe space in the house. The complexity is that his parents are on their 5-week "Great American Road Trip" from NY, and they're scheduled to be with the kids in Seattle tomorrow for 2 days. No one wants them to get sick for the last half of their trip. I'm sure they'll work something out.

I need to have my other hip replaced
I've got so much titanium in my various joints that I told my husband to be sure to collect it once I'm cremated, it must be worth something :floorlaugh: . Good luck on your trip -- I know how hard it is to walk around with that pain. Your cane will be your friend.

Are you not a pumpkin spice fan? I like it well enough but not for everything and usually only after Caitlyn's birthday.
I really like pumpkin spice in my latte :coffee1:. Other than that, it just seems too much everywhere these days. Plus, it has to be a hot latte; iced PSL is just wrong. That's a sign you're ordering it too early!

Yep, we do phonics and we do sight words.
Our younger granddaughter must have had the best teachers in kindergarten and first grade, because she has got the phonics down. She can sound out anything. She cracks me up because she regularly spouts off various "rules". I think the last one she gave me was "When two vowels go walking, the first does the talking." I never heard of these!

Yeah, well, to me, if it is free, it just means you have just spent mega bucks in order to get the one little item as free,
My mom complained to me the other day that "Trader Joe's hasn't sent me my free basket of goodies yet and I ordered it 2 weeks ago." Oy. We went through again how to look up whether something that sounds great on Facebook really is true. Now we know why she had several false charges on her debit card the week after she paid "just the shipping." Fortunately the bank reversed those and gave her a new card.

@BrightEyes good to hear you are recovering. Feel even better soon.

@faerywings as always never a dull moment with you. I hope you find time to do a few fun things today.

Our handyman came over yesterday morning to talk about more work we want done. He told us how much flooring to get for LR,DR and hallway. That job will have to wait till new year since I will be out of commission with this surgery and granddaughter coming for Christmas. Talked about new kitchen but then again that will have to wait. This is all stuff we would do outselves if we were young again.
Went to pre-PT yesterday so they could measure my hip movement for the before surgery to compare to after. That was fun-NOT. Yesterday Jay got the last 3 hurricane windows we need to make our house safer. He bought me another orchid as he knew I was a little down in the dumps about having to have surgery again. Our friend helped Jay unload the windows them we went to the club for dinner.
Today I got the clearance from my Dr. for surgery this morning. I waited an hour --wow I wonder if they would like to wait that long for service. Cleaning and doing laundry. Still getting pic's off my phone.

Thanks @Terri M I like to think the titanium would be worth money...it sure costs enough to get it put in. My family will be worth a fortune. Brother has shoulder will be getting other soon, sister has 2 hips, daughter 1 hip need another and I have 1 shoulder and will be getting second hip.

Good Morning Ladies!

I ordered the B-12s, how long do you think it will take to notice any improvement? My stupid POTS has been so awful by the end of the day that it's making me feel crazy and terrible
I have no idea. I really didn't think it worked at first. Took it 5 days and "didn't feel it" but let me tell you what I felt. I felt day 6 when I didn't take it!!! Its always the not expecting it to do anything and so I didn't pay attention. But looking back the stand up dizzies weren't so bad. I am still over heated after a shower, but not to the point of feeling like passing out. I hope it helps and it might depend on how low you are in B12 on when its noticeable. Mostly I notice when I miss things because then the symptoms happen and I think wait why which makes me realize I missed a vitamin or 10 LOL
Popping in to say I am alive... Covid knocked me for a loop.
so sorry Covid knocked you down. Glad you stopped by to let us know youre alive and starting to recover. Its a doozy for sure.
"When two vowels go walking, the first does the talking." I never heard of these!
Yes, those rules are fun and easy to remember. They start to come back as I look over thins for my grandson. Usually there is a photo of two vowels holding hands walking down a road for that rule LOL. Its cute and easy to remember.

All this talk of cleaning house ........... run dont walk run away!!!!!!!!!!!!! Defrosted and cleaned the 5' chest freezer. What a big job that was. Fitting everything into smaller freezer and coolers, thawing and scrapping frost and being bent over touching my toes. felt like I was trying to touch my toes anyway. Then I washed the dishwasher. Did you know youre suppose to wash it? Like not just run it was soap but wash it. Run a hot cycle with a cup of vinegar in a bowl on the top rack. Then you sprinkle a cup baking soda and run a hot rinse cycle. Who knew but now my dishwasher shines and smells amazing. I normally clean the filter and stuff once a month but who knew it needed a deep clean monthly. One more thing to add to my list. I even cleaned my waterpik by running water and peroxide through it. Forgot to "turn off the wand" and when I refilled and turned on motor this morning I had water shooting across my bathroom :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: Its been a morning!!! On that note, off to find brunch to eat.
