The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Good morning, my dears! I hope that you are all much warmer than I am ATM. I can't seem to warm up, it is 45* right now. It seems to go from nice and hit to frigid in the blink of an eye.

I bet you are all wondering (winks) how I did yesterday. Did I get my act together? Surprisingly well, as a matter of fact.
I spent the majority of my morning cleaning out the cabinets. I tossed a ton of opened and stale boxes of cereal and chips. Tea that I had from 10 years ago. I called the FP and the woman that helped me was so darn sweet! I couldn't decide if I wanted a box of Cheez-Its or Graham Crackers so she have me both :) Caitlyn is very happy about the Cheez-Its. That is one of the "only if they are on sale and have a coupon" purchases I will make. I also got eggs and lettuce and pears. But the best-- hand sanitizer and Lysion wipes!!! I swear it is the littlest things that make me happy. OTOH, hand sanitizer and wipes are *not* little things these days.

Glad to have the little things since some of the bigger things are annoying me. Like my washing machine. It isn't working right again. :mmph: We have an appt tomorrow for it and the tech is going to start the paperwork on getting a replacement machine. This is ridiculous. Unfortunately, I don't think that we are going to have the option of using Leah's for a while. She and her mom are celebrating Rosh Hashanah this weekend with some extended family and I think that the kids decided that it would be smart to wait the 14 days until they see each other again to be safe. If Leah's cousins aren't there, they were ok with seeing each other because they don't know how careful the cousins are.
(this is never going to to end, is it?)

Today I am picking up groceries and then I am trying to tidy the house. That is going to be the "interesting" part since Gary is in full-blown Halloween prop mode. I have skeletons all over the house and when I say all over, I mean it. My SIL gave Gary his early Christmas present-- six 5" foot, poseable skeletons. There are some sitting at the pub table, some on the sofa, and some in the DR.

My gratitudes:
-the people at the FP
-Gary who makes me smile. I can't say always but much of the time
-autumn-scented candles

Nancy- I hear ya, it is really cold! My brother is down in LBI this week for a vacation, Christopher can do do school remotely, and I feel bad, the weather isn't too good. How fun to have so much exciting sports to watch. Ugh about the wi-fi charges.

Trudy- I saw your picture of the air on FB and it is stunning and horrifying. I apologize for having someone so scientifically ignorant in "charge" right now and that is affecting your country in so many ways.
Oh my goodness, what scary news about your MIL. And for your FIL too. How is your Gary holding up? I am sending big hugs and love to you all.
How are your grands all doing? School going well?

Jean- it has to be so nice to hear the H&S practice while you are puttering around the house. I read a bit more in the sociology course. I can skim over the stuff that isn;'t relevant, like professional ethics since I am not going to be working clients. But the ideas of oppression and cultural dominance are fascinating, if a bit scary in the current climate.
 I guess that I typically report on my family gatherings with lots of complaints.

Cheryl- I am so happy that you are staying with us! Take all of the time you need to get back on your feet. 2020 has been difficult on its face and I can't imagine trying to move halfway across the country in the midst of it. Hugs!

xoxoxo!

good morning - an chilly morning without much sun to warm me up. I have my space heater going. I usually don't need it until Oct and I really try hard not to turn on heat for the house until Oct 15. I am wearing layers. Well the Dallas Stars defeated Vegas and will now play in the Stanley Cup Final. The Stars are waiting for the winner of the Lightning/Islanders series. That game is tonight and if the Lightning win then the Final will be set. I of course am hoping that Islanders win just to have more games LOL. I taking this time to clean out my mail. I had mail from 2013 so I really need to get rid of stuff. Then I need to pare down my photos and free up more space. I really hate calling on the phone so but so far I have called my knee doctor for my year follow up, called the vet so he can call the doggie day care to confirm that Luther is caught up on his vaccines so he can go to doggie day care again. Had banking that had to be taken care of on the phone so I feel very productive. And my son is bringing us dinner, grilled shrimp. That is cool! So Luther is so enjoying the weather.

Chris glad that you got your act together. I saw on FB the skeleton video. OMgosh your Gary is awesome! You must have the best yard. I love Cheez-its but just never remember to pick them up as I probably don't need to eat them anyway. Enjoy all the new skeletons sitting around your home.

Trudy welcome back. I am glad were able to take the time for your MIL and FIL. It is hard to see them age. Glad you have other family to help out - it is nice to to share the responsibility. Hope your grands are doing well in school. Saw the photo on FB of your smoky air. WOW to not be able to see the lake is unbelievable.

Jean how nice to hear the virtual practice is still going on for your DH. Enjoy the classes.

Cheryl hope you are settling in the new area.

Have a great day all!

Morning, gals. Well, it has been a PITA straightening stuff out since the Windows 10 update. Lost all my log-ins but even after I put them back in with the 'remember me' checked - when I would start the computer over again, I had to log-in again!! Finally had a brilliant idea that the problem might be with the HISTORY on the computer. So cleared the HISTORY this morning and to my delight most of the log-ins were there as I move from forum to forum. Whew... Discovered that while this was going on, I didn't get notices of some posts on threads I was following.. so had to do come catch up on them. I really need to do a clean out of old files, etc on my computer.

Nancy, I need to clean out my email, too. It is one of those things most of us don't think about paring down. Guess I should put in on my 'to-do list' at the start of the year. Glad you are enjoying your sports broadcasts. Oh, YUMMY... grilled shrimp and you don't have to cook it. ENJOY.

Chris, I saw Gary's Halloween grave on FB... what a hoot!!! He is so creative! Glad to got the pantry cleaned out and hopefully got rid of wherever the pest were hiding!! Had to LOL over the way over out-of-date/use-by-date stuff. I cleaned mine out then about 6 months later did it again and still found things I had missed on the first clean out. Way to go on getting the hand-sanitizer and cleaning wipes! Yes, those little things make a big difference.

Trudy, was your photo on FB with the smoke hiding the lake! Heard it was really bad all over the western area. Glad you were able to get a few things squared away with MiL and FiL. Hope that the family will be able to help them with making the right decisions with their health issues. <<< hugs >>>

Cheryl, glad you will still be around here. Hope that things will be ease off a bit as you settle into the new area/house.

Time to get off the computer and get my shower. CYL

Morning ladies... another very smokey day here, but last night we got some much needed rain, so it did help to clear the air a little tiny bit LOL. Everything stinks like smoke and so it will be another day of burning some scented candles. I have the furnace fan running just to filter the inside air a bit. My eyes are watering and they sting, my poor lungs think that I am smoking a pack a day!! Does not sound like it will start clearing out until the weekend :mmph: I might have to start wearing a mask all day in the house!! It is starting to get a bit depressing not being able to see the sky or much of anything else! I can't imagine what the poor people who suffer from asthma are feeling like right now. Well I had a very productive day yesterday, I got a page done for Challenge #6 and hope to get another layout completed today! I worked on some cards and even got my :washing: all done and did some ironing. (Yes I iron my sheets LOL) please don't judge me. Well a face time call with Heather is coming in so I will have to pause here for a bit.

Ok well that was fun! I got to read three stories to Hunter and he is talking so much more now, so cute!! It is just him and his Mommy at home today, Mason started his first day back to school this morning, they were worried that he was going to be very nervous about it, but he was a rock star and ready to get going at 6am LOL. Tomorrow Heather will be alone for the whole day, the first time in 6 months. Not sure how long this will last however, as Ontario and Quebec are reporting the highest amount of cases since June. :mmph:

Chris - Had to laugh at all the skeletons around the house, how do you get your cleaning etc done with so many other bodies in the house? LOL. Thanks for the apology, but it certainly has nothing to do with you my friend, its the stupid people who are careless that have started the fires and I can't wrap my head around how you could even think of using a pyrotechnic device to announce the gender of your baby and not think about it starting a fire??? Of course some were started by lightning, but still HELLO people you are living in the middle of a drought, use some common sense!! My Gary is holding up pretty well thank you, he is of course worried about his Mother, but perhaps more concerned about what is happening with his father, what will they do if he can't drive anymore etc. MIL is not allowed to drive at all since her stroke. She had a bad day on Saturday, feeling very dizzy again but feeling a bit better on Sunday. I need to call today to see if things are ok. Sorry to hear that your washing machine is on the fritz again! Sounds like you got a lemon for sure and I hope you are able to get the replacement!

Nancy - Hope things turn out the way you want for hockey to continue a bit longer! Heather said it was very cool where she is this morning also, such a change in temps so quickly, one day its summer the next it is almost winter like. So far the kids are ok with school, we will see how long that lasts LOL. I bet Luther is a happy dog with the cooler weather!

Kay - What a PITA for sure with your windows update! That is why I am a MAC girl, my DH loves his PC but turned off the auto updates on his, because it is such a pain! Yes my photo on FB was looking out my kitchen window, can't see the lake or the mountain that is directly across from us. You can tell that the sun is out there because it gets brighter, but can't even see the sun today. It is very bad!! Hope that you get your computer issues all straightened out and things are running smoothly again for you!

Ok I am in need of a second cup of coffee and then off to the shower and get myself dressed for the day. Hope you are all keeping well and that the air quality is better for you than it is for me!!

Hello all! Thanks for all of your words of encouragement and for wanting me to hang around. You're all so very sweet and I'm happy to still be here! I never expected this move to take such a toll on me.

Yes, Chris, 2020 has hit us all in the face - then to top it off with this HUGE life changing event - well, thank you!! Sounds like you're feeling a little better, emotionally, fall is coming so we can look forward to the changing color. I'm so excited to be able to see that again!

Nancy, try to stay warm. I'm wearing layers, too. It's not cold in Oklahoma yet, but it's "different" from Florida. My hands have been cold since we got here.

Kay, glad you're getting your computer straightened out! They sure can be a PITA!!

Trudy, the smokiness must be very distressing! I can't even imagine.

I'm going to put the dog on her leash and go out and try to get some warmth - it's a beautiful day and I just need to get outside. We went down to the barn the other day and explored. It's in pretty bad shape, but there are 2 horse stalls in there and a chicken coop. LOL
