GooooOd morning!

This is going to be super quick, but I wanted to open our thread before I ran out of time. I am having a rough start tot he morning, but it will get better. Sometimes I wish *all* of my dreams could be humorous, but the last one I had before my alarm went off was horrible and just seemed to drawn on all of the family issues we are having and it did not end well. Woke up with an enormous sense of grief and I have been weepy for the last hour.

But I know by the time I get back here, Phyllis and Eva and Jen are going to be causing a ruckus. Nana's going to be throwing vodka bottles at Ona, and Trudy, Linda, Laurie, and the rest of you will be sending hugs. If *that* doesn't give you something to look forward to, nothing will!!!

morning Ofam- a day of remembrance for sure. Got my packet at work for how to apply for my current job in a buyout! So I asked my boss when I would know if I get my job and she said it is a given- unless you have a problem with the background check- since I already made it through once 5 years ago (despite having flipped off an officer in an unmarked car in my youth) I think it will be a go- still don't know how I am going to lose 15 pounds in a week for my physical though- guess I should get going on the treadmill!

Good morning everybody! I see that some folk have school pictures as avatars for back to school so I just quick in a hurry put my senior picture up!

Chris, no good. I'm so sorry that it seems like everything is just fresh in your mind like that. Hugs and pixie dust for a better day.

Laurie, I haven't been around, so I don't know what job you're up for, but you know what, more power to ya! Also, eek. 15 lbs in a week does not sound like fun, but hopefully you'll be feeling better and in shape. Is there any wiggle room on that?

I haven't been around in awhile so I'm not going to fill you in on EVERYthing you missed. But I'm going to stick around this time. Got a good reason. ;-) Anyway, the biggest things on my mind right now are my second week of graphic design school, which I'm so excited for, and this stupid procedure I have to have done tomorrow. School- getting my AA in web graphic design, and I am super excited and I actually feel like I know what I'm doing. What a shocker, right? LOL It's great to feel like I'm doing the right thing. Just.. I have Forrest Gumped my way through life a lot of the time, and it's refreshing to feel like I have a plan and that I can carry it out.

The procedure- I had a bad pap here recently. I had one back in 2002, and it was a minor lesion and they just snipped it off and I was none the worse for wear. Had three kids between now and then, by gum! But this time, it is at least a grade 3 lesion, and my practitioner thinks it may be cancer. So I have to go in tomorrow and have them try to remove it. If they can't get it all they'll at least do a biopsy and we'll know what we are looking at. I am having lots of symptoms, too, such as fairly heavy bleeding a lot of the time, so I'm going to advocate that they just snip my whole lady works and be done with it. Anyway, that procedure is tomorrow, and then my husband is taking all the kids to a wedding in Pennsylvania for four days over the weekend, so I'm going to be on my lonesome. Good thing I have Clara nearby in case I get lonely! I anticipate much scrapping and school work over the weekend.

Anyway, hi!!!

Andrea- I don't have to lose the pounds to get my job- my company was bought out by the hospital across the street, so in order to keep our jobs, we have to apply for them so they have our info in the system. As it is connected with a hospital, we have to have a physical that includes checking for resistance to measles, chickenpox, TB- the usual stuff as well as a BCI check. The down side- you do not get 6 paid holidays a year- you have to use PTO- really all I can say is bleck. So off to get ready for work. Tomorrow I think I find out if I will accrue said PTO at new employee rate or the have worked 10 year rate- since I didn't ask for the transition, I am hoping it is the latter.

Andrea, i gotta vote yes for the snipping of the whole ladyworks. i have never been happier since i did it. when it starts giving trouble, time to invite it to leave. i did it about 12 years ago, and i have never regretted it. good luck with your tests and in the days ahead. i'll be thinking of you and praying for the best possible outcome.

Chris, you're such a good writer and an even better "soul." i'm wishing you good days and much better dreams ahead, sweet person. and i am sending a bone-crushing ((HUG)) your way. ::grouphug

gee. to show you how exciting my life has been lately, i'm absolutely looking FORWARD to going to Sam's Club today! pathetic. i get such a lift buying massive packages of paper towels. it makes me feel PROSPEROUS!! i've already run the vac in the library this morning and backed up some of my files onto two EHDs. i've been up since 4. no reason. i just woke up, so up i got.

anyone know how to get mystery spots out of a carpet? i tried my vinegar and water. didn't work. then i tried a little Murphy's Oil Soap. didn't work. i'm avoiding those canned foam carpet cleaners, because the last time i used one, it changed the color of one of my carpets.... :eek:hwell:

Laurie, hope the transition at work goes OK.

it IS a day to remember. and i'm afraid i remember it with the rancor for which i am so famous. some things i just can't forgive or forget. the Flight 93 memorial is about an hour's drive from my house.

thought I would drop in before I head out of town. I have to work out of town for a couple of days. Actually, I'm hoping I can get everything finished today and head home tonight. Just depends on how long my doctors talk --have a meeting starting at 6:30PM. If I can leave by 9PM, I'll be home by 11:30. The road I travel is desolate---NOTHING in between there and my house except for one tiny little town. I manage a group of radiologists, office out of my house, and have to travel to the hospital that we service--about 2 1/2 hours away. I go there a couple of times a month.

Laurie--when I managed hospitals, I found most people loved PTO. It is advantageous to those who do not get sick much. I was one who did not use it for sick days often so I could take LONG vacations. Loved it!

Chris--praying for you girl. Check out this LO for a little humor. https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=267955&title=handle-it-like-a-dog&cat=all

Phyllis--you crack me up--PROSPEROUS buying bulk paper towels. Wish you could do my shopping while you are at it. Can't help you on the mystery spots. I finally got fed up with carpet a few years ago and replace it with tile and /or hardwood floors. Best thing I ever did. Bought a few area rugs and called it a day.

I need to get in gear, get ready, get packed and get on the road. Later.

OK, I am back and just got a HUGE chuckle out of Terry's LO!! Click that link ^ Now!!!

I am regrouping, nothing that a bunch of coffee doesn't cure, eh? I don't have to be at work until 10am and since I am up at 5 if feels by then, half of my day is gone. Its a sad day in a way anyway, being Sept 11. Being from the NY metro area, it still is such a shock to drive down Rt 3 and not see the Towers there. I am just keeping that image of Terry's page in my mind. LOL

Laurie, sounds like you are in a good spot with the job, I just wish it didn't have to be so stressful for everyone.

Andrea- cool pic!! Thx for the pixie dust :) Good luck with the procedure-- *fingers crossed for good results* I had a cryosurgery done a few years ago-- and I am with you. I am done with the plumbing, just get rid of it, please!

Phyllis-- hahahah!! It is the little things in life that can make you feel so good. Enjoy your paper towels. Thanks for the good soul comment, too!
You'd think with my extensive dealing of cat pee and carpets I would have abetter idea on how to get rid of stains, but no luck. My first thought would have been vinegar too. Maybe a little bit of dish soap?

Terry Be safe driving whatever you decide to do.

Hugs!!!!

Ahhh, Laurie, sorry to hear about that. What a hassle! Ugh! Hope it's over with soon.

Phyllis- indeed. Out with it. My primary care person said that I need it because it holds up my bladder. But I pick Poise pads over this any day!

Yesterday's rambles... :)

hahahaha! My good mood yesterday didn't last long, and I am blaming you Phyllis. You know how I usually get your weather a day after you? I think your Sunday hit me yesterday
My BFF is th esame way with clothes, she can just pull off an outfit and look like she just walked off of the runway. Not me. smh.

Eva- (((((((((((hugs))))))))))) I wish I knew how yo help you with John, cuz I am going through similar. Scott started cutting again and it threw me for such a loop. Just when you think they are getting "better"..... all downhill. Who knew that life was really just a game of Chutes and Ladders? Had I known that when I was 5, I would have played more!

Nana- I thought of you this morning. I was all bundled up when I went to bed, but I must have gotten hot inthe middle of the night but I was also still cold. I had pulled off one fuzzy sock but left the other one on, maybe to balance myself out? :p And I know you understand...... its hard on my kids too, even though we are all sick, you'd think we'd "see" it better in each other.

My fridge is just about empty too!So empty that I cleaned all of the shelves and walls!

Terry, welcOme back!! That is so like me too- not liking interruptions, which is why my crazy schedule of bus stops runs, baby sitting, working for a few hours here and there, makes me feel like I waste so much time, but its so much lost just in transitions, YKWIM? How did the dentist go?
The class sounds neat! Have fun!

Trudy  That darn boss of yours!! I hope that while you are on vaca, he realizes what a treasure you are and he comes to his senses about your hours.
(((hugs))) for surviving the visit with your SIL.

Eva- great story, have you scrapped it??

Jen, I would have gone to the drs for you! It would be a thrill to go to a dr and not have to worry about health insurance and medical bills for once :D
How are the winds and fires by you today?? good thoughts coming your way!!!!

Kim-- your MIL is going to be so busy loving on her grandson she won't have time to worry about dust bunnies!!!
Have a great trip!!

Eva-- my kind of wine drinker!!! LOL

Chris HUGS, bad dreams are awful:( and phylis I hope you get that carpet stain fixed. uggggg I don't know what helps for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well Im happy to be alive today and that my house didn't burn down! My niece and my sister are safe and sound also! Thank goodness for fire fighters my goodness what a job. They stayed up the entire night making sure there was no flare ups on the prairie fire. Wow what a day so crazy. One fire started up way beyond my house and the wind was right in our direction. I threw all the kids in my van and hightailed it to town but thank goodness the hutterite colony had it out before it got out of hand because ALL of the fire trucks were busy in Lethbridge!

right behind my nieces house:

This is the field where the one fire started across from our house. but way far out no worries the wind was in the other direction

well, I'm in a terrible mood. I've been to a "parenting class" - gee - like I need that after been his mother for almost 15 years??? But this is something they always throw at me, that I haven't taken this class. It's 3 x 3hrs of my life. Today I learned ..... NOTHING. I have read almost every book there is about Asperger's syndrome. I'm a mother to a 15 yo son with AS ... I'm married to a man with AS. What on earth do they think I can learn from this class???? Total waste of time, but at least soon I've taken that class, and they can't say I haven't done it. All in all: just a normal day in my life: me hating idiots LOL

Eva. sounds totally annoying. they should have had YOU teaching. your normal day sounds like mine: a lot of time spent hating idiots. hope things get better for you. wishing you some good days, and soon.

You guys crack me up with your hating idiots. I call them NPC's- non-player characters, to you people who have never played role-playing games. Means people who are just place-holders, rather than fully functioning individuals. I've learned to deal with them, mostly.

I was identified as having Asperger's, but then my primary care manager said that I don't have it. So I have many Aspergian traits, but apparently am NOT QUITE AWKWARD ENOUGH, so I was downgraded to social anxiety disorder. Which basically means that I hate idiots. LOL.

Andrea - my testing ended with some kinda fuzzy diagnosis. I have traits of Asperger's + traits of ADD, but not enough of either to get the diagnosis, but combined I have enough problems to make me "neuropsychologically challenged of clinical proportions" (my bad translation of the dr's mumbo jumbo conclusion). I prefer my nephew's conclusion - when he heard about this he said: "How typical of you - you can't even be disturbed in a normal way!" LOL Sums me up better LOL

HA! Yeah, exactly. Same here. But, you know what, I prefer being like I am to being boring and commonplace.
