:mmph:
I am not sure that I am ready for this, September and Autumn, and all that. Not like I have any say in the matter! It still feels a bit weird about not doing any sort of back-to-school rituals. I think that is the word I was trying to express with my ramblings yesterday. I miss the "ritual" of it all. Even last year, my mom would take the kids and me out to lunch before school. And for many years, even the last couple, my friend and her DD (Cait's age) would go for ice cream, which is something that we started when the kids were in Elementary school together.

Cait and I did something anxiety-provoking yesterday- we went shopping at TJ MAXX in town. First time I have been in a store other than to pick up groceries since March. She needed new PJs and this is the best time to get Halloween ones- that she wears year-round, of course. We were in and out quickly but we did it. She and Scott went back after dinner so Scott could get a pumpkin-scented candle for his room. It is so exciting. hehehe!
The rats all did great at the vet, Livvie has some abx for her sneezing. Imogene is neurotic. She always has been a bit, she bites her nails, just like Jaida. Isn't it funny that animals do that too? Recently, she has been overgrooming her arms and belly and has some bald patches. Vet said that sometimes rats do that as a sign of boredom but he knows that isn't the issue with Cait's rats. So yup, rats can have neuroses the same as people do. (as I hide my hands and fingernails in my lap )

Today I have to pick up groceries and then I have no clue what am doing. It looks cloudy out at the moment so maybe I should stay in and do some housework. Or not.
I should checkout the new September challenges, I bet there are some good ones to do.

Gratitudes:
-my family, I just love 'em
-What We Do In the Shadows TV show. We are rewatching it (again!!!) and it still crack us up every time
-I slept well last night, always a good thing!

Hugs!

Nancy- It is so cold! I am sad to see summer go. How was hockey, did any of the teams you are rooting for stay in? 2020 is the weirdest! The poor guy in the TdF!
I will have to look at In To The Dark- what channel/service?
Cait officially begins classes tomorrow, your DH too? Tell him good luck!

Kay- Oh man, you are the speediest of readers! No wonder you get very excited when you are able to get bags of books. I am glad that you were able to put that book down so you could sleep. Good luck with the endo today!
Sounds like your family is doing well, cute to see DS direct traffic LOL I hope that the rest of the family issues are calmer.
Woo hoo for the smoke-free air! I would send you some of this cold air in a heartbeat if I could.

Trudy- congrats on the jelly-making success! 20 jars! Your poor feet must be tired after all of that. I bet your fingers are going to be purple for a while but worth it all.
I hope that you were able to get some breaks in yesterday if you were busy with the housework and laundry.
I hear ya about the calendars and photos and all of that. Everything just feels "off."
But little by little we are all adjusting. (maybe? perhaps? A bit?)

I better get my day started, I have be be outin an hour and I am not functioning 100% yet. Then again, when am I? :pound:

This is not a good day.... got word from my nephew that my sister who tested positive for Covid-19 2 weeks ago was admitted to the hospital with breathing difficulty and low Oxygen level. She is in Texas but no point in going there as no visitors allowed. One son lives in NM and one in VA... her brother-in-law and family who lives where she does have all tested positive when she did. Needless to say, I am very worried about her.

Need to get set-up for my Zoom appointment with the Endro Doc.

good morning - it is a grey day but no rain so far. Watching the TdF. This is the first real mountain stage. They are racing up to over 6000 ft. Amazes me! Last night's hockey was strange the early game went to double overtime with the Lightning winning (sorry for Trudy and Her MG as their Bruins lost) and then the second game started 5-0 Avalanche over the Stars. So I get another game in the Avalanche vs Stars series. Got more scrapping done so that is good. Not much else going on.

Chris yes it is cool and I guess now that it is Sept I have to be reconciled to the fact that fall is coming. My DH's school starts the Tuesday after Labor Day. So he is gearing up and getting his notes ready for his classes. I am sure it seems so strange not to have those rituals this Sept.

Kay that is good news about your son's and daughter's. My niece in law also can work any where from home so they are thinking of moving some where less expensive. Interesting how now it seems possible for people to work from home. So sorry to hear about your sister and her family. Sending virtual hugs! Hope the endo appt goes well!

Trudy wow 20 jars of jelly! I am totally impressed! I am sure your kids and grandkids are super happy! Sorry about the Bruins. After seeing how well they played last night makes you wonder why they did not play that well in the previous 3 games. Sounds like next season may see some big changes in the team. But I guess there are always changes.

Waving to all

Morning ladies, I am late getting here and have to get to the post office this morning. So I will be in and out of here in a hurry! Already had my face time chat with Heather and the boys and all is well there, except for the fact that Heather is tearing the house apart trying to find her Birth Certificate :mmph: I don't know how many times I have told her to keep those kinds of documents in her safe!!!! Oh well I didn't say I told you so and just gave her some suggestions as to where it could possibly be. In order to get a new one, she needs proof of who she is and her passport is expired so she can't use that. She does not have a drivers licence so she can't use that. :mmph: Sure hope she finds it and when and if she does I told her she better send me a copy of it! Darn girl never was very good at organizing or keeping things where they could be found. Anyway I better get out of here, before it gets really busy downtown.

Chris - I am happy that you actually got out of the house and went to a physical store LOL although I bet it really was stressful at first. It scared me the first time I had to go into an actual store other than the grocery store. Every place has its own rules and big signs posted on the door. A lot of people don't read them and just walk in, but most of them get kicked out too LOL.

Kay - I am so sorry to hear about your sister and her family all testing positive!! I will send you and your family healing vibes from Canada that all will be well for them

Nancy - Yes it was a sad night here at our place last night!! They did play so much better and we shake our heads wondering why on earth did they wait until this last game to finally play like the Bruins???? Oh well hopefully some good changes for the team, it will be interesting to see what happens! Hope everything goes well with your DH returning to work! Hope you are enjoying your day!

Ok off I go and then perhaps I will have some time to start a page for the challenges this month. Have a great day ladies! :bolt:
