Happy Halloween, my spOoky friends!
th

I cannot believe that it is here and I feel so unprepared. This month has been a blur. The *year* has been a blur. Darn it!

My day should have been relatively calm, but no such luck. I dropped Cait off at school (after having the bejeesus scared out of us when a branch fell on my car while I was driving!), got home and no sooner than when I got out of the shower she called, asking to be picked up. She was in so much pain. Gary went and got her her and after a couple of hours watching her cringe every time a wave of pain hit, we decided to head to the ER.
That is always a fun experience. Why can't they make the chairs any more comfortable?
All of the tests they did came back normal so they think it might be an ulcer/reflux related issue. Cait was born with reflux and has had an esophageal ulcer and swears that this pain is not the same. we figure that it has to be muscular. We got home at 7 pm and Scott wasn't home from school yet. I knew that he was staying late for scheduling but I thought he said that he would be home at 6. After freaking out a bit he got home a little bit after us. his appt was at 6. But sheesh, I was fried!

Today, I wish I could rest but I have to go food shopping then get ready for trick or treaters. We never craved our pumpkins or watched Hocus Pocus- two of our favorite traditions so we want to do that tonight.

Better get this posted and go see how Caitlyn is doing, she should be up by now.

Have a fantastic day!!! xoxoxo!!

:( I went to see how Cait was doing and she is somewhat better than yesterday but still not great. She doesn't know if she can make it to school. It is horrible seeing someone you love in pain and not be able to do anything about it.

Felis- oh, yes- I get that all of the time. I wake up in a bad mood a lot too. Like today. I am not feeling all that cheerful this morning at all. I hope that you are feeling much better today and that your migraine is gone.
I am on my second day of Tindamax AKA abx from Hell, and I don't think I fully recovered from last week's doses. This medication gives me headaches and makes me very irritable and sound-sensitive. It was not fun being in the hospital yesterday with all of the noise and beeping.
Good luck with getting ready for the new month. All of my good thoughts are with you!

Nancy- your Sunday sounds like it was a great day for you. Awesome on getting pictures and autographs. Plus TWD, Outlander, and the World Series.Fun!!
We didn't notice when it happened but a huge tree came down in our backyard Sunday night. It is just inside the tree line of the woods so it can stay there and not be in our way at all.

Rae- Thanks for the reminder that I need to get into the lab for my bloodwork too. I was going to go yesterday after lunch but that didn't happen. Maybe I will go today... Maybe not. I hope that your Cholesterol is ok.
What is up with the firecrackers? Hopefully, the lavender will work for Taz. Bach's Rescue Remedy is supposed to be good for that too. We used that on my dog who had separation anxiety.
I should have bought a gallon of that for them tonight- it will be a bit crazy with the trick or Treaters and trying to keep them calm every time the doorbell rings.

jean- Hope that you felt a bit less groggy as the day went on. The weather sure isn't helping with that.
The indictments were pretty exciting! Lots of good bits and pieces especially with the Papadopolous one. While we were in the ER, Cait and I switched between watching silly pet videos and the news about them. It is frustrating to know that there is still nothing that we can do about any of it until 2020. :frusty:

Trudy! OMG, that is so scary about your MIL! I can't believe that they released her from the hospital. Sadly, at 82 she isn't going to change.
That view is stunning! I want to come live with you!!!!
How sad (and I mean this sincerely) that I am happy that people connected to this Administration are being indicted for working with foreign govts? It is sad as an American to want this Admin to go down. :(

I need to get my butt moving... Sure wish I could stay in bed under the blankets all day....

Happy Halloween to all!
At Bulgaria we don't celebrate it. And I'm always been confused why someone will allow children to take unhealthy snack from a strangers?! In the past we had similar tradition, at the New Year morning children sing and circling at every house at the neighborhood to collect coins and fruits, but with the years has ceased and now happen only in the family. Anyway!
As a pagan (and big fan of everything Irish) what I like in Halloween is the idea that pumpkin lantern can be used to ward off evil spirits. This is the only thing that my family make. It's ours tradition from few years. And it's so fun, animals watch it through the window, cats are curious, the small dog will barks and the bigger really don't care about all these lights  . This also means that today dinner will be pumpkin cream soup, the only way I like pumpkin!
So today we will make lanterns. Also I'll keep few sites in my sight trying to catch some sales, which can be useful for my Christmas gifts plan. It's also payday, so I'm wake up early, and already paid the bills. Even made three simple pages. So to can start on clear at the new month.

Chris, this is so bad, poor Caitlyn! I don't know how your med system works, but if she know that is not reflux, I'm not surprised you will make everything to find her second and even third doctor's opinion. Here doctors are so arrogant, even when make mistakes so often. I hope they are being kindly with the dear girl and she will feeling much better soon! And of course it's happened when is your medication day (I was told about the bi** fate) , you are real hero! I strongly, strongly wish you to have one festive night and all to be fine till then!

Rae, Oh, dear Taz, with becoming of the celebration this will be hard time for him. I like the colorful fireworks, but hate these noise bombs, I can't figure out why here the parents allow teenagers to play with them, every year have a cases of lost fingers, but they continue. This summer the dog of our neighbor escape for 2 days and was lose it hearing for about a week, after few boys throw one of this little bombs (we call them pirates) at the legs of the dog and the little girl which held him. And this is supposed to be fun?! Ughhh! Hope your cholesterol results are good! Do keto is so strict so not allow you to eat some of the foods that can regulate it naturally?!

Nancy, this about the autograph is so cool! You're one lucky girl!

Jean, it's consolation to have what to watch at the cold weather, isn't it?!

Trudy, so sorry for your MIL, hope is not too serious! I knew you were near the lake, but it was not realized that you can see it from your windows. So pretty landscape!

Happy Halloween to all! Have a scary party! And let evil stay away from us!

good morning - yesterday was nice as it cleared up early but still had wind but it was fun to get Luther out. The creek and river were very high and moving fast. Made a fun dinner dinner Korean steamed buns filled with spicy beef and tempura battered sweet potato chips. It was really something I would never have thought to cook because I would never would have been able to find the buns. It was so yummy and the boys thought so too. Today is a very low key stay at home and wait for the treaters to come. I don't usually have a lot so I only buy candy that I like. My DH has a sinus infection so he is home today. He sounds terrible. I stay away.

Chris that is terrible with Cait being in such pain. And having to sit in the ER is not fun. Hope you can get her ulcer symptoms to calm down. I know just having the rare bouts of heart burn is not good for me so I can't imagine with the symptoms scale up! Hope the shopping goes fast!

Trudy that is so scary about your MIL. I suppose that at least she did not break anything when she fell so that is the good thing. Surprised how fast they released her. And yes you will be busy making sure the news is spread. The photo is gorgeous. What a view.

Felis that is interesting about your lack of Halloween but yet love the carved pumpkins. We in the US do go over board when it comes to decorations and costumes but the kids love it and so do many parents. I was never clever with costumes so I am truly glad that this is over for me no kids and no parties. But I love it when the kids come to my door - they are so cute

Rae you are so busy. Good luck with the cholesterol results. Mine is low and yet I still have high blood pressure. Never know! We don't have fireworks with Halloween thankfully. Poor Taz I hope he does ok.

Jean you are so right I should have stayed up to see the end of the world series game. But I am glad that I don't cheer for these teams as it was be so exhausting where you win or lose. I hope Dodgers win tonight so there is a game 7.

Have a great day all!

Morning O-zies and Happy Halloween!!

It should be a fairly quiet Halloween here as it is a school night and most of the kids will be downtown at all the events they have planned there. Last year we had 54 trick or treaters the year before we had 76, the numbers have decreased every year and when we first moved into this house we had 130. Its ok, because its great that the community does so much to keep the kids safe and off the streets. Looking forward to seeing photos of my grands all dressed up! Wish I could be with all of them for their fun day!

Chris - Ugh what an awful day you had yesterday! Poor Cait, I sure hope that whatever is wrong with her stomach heals quickly! Perhaps it is muscle spasms? :noidea: Good luck getting all prepared for Halloween, you do not seem to be as excited about your fav holiday as in previous years, guess as we get older it is just not as much fun as when the kids are little? Yes MIL gave us quite a scare! She is feeling better and the dr told her she had a severe case of Vertigo, but I am doubting it. As she has had many TIAs and they can give you the same symptoms, eventually it will lead to a severe stroke and I am betting that will be coming next. Horrible to say, but we all feel the same way. I truly hope that I am wrong! Thanks for the nice compliment about my photo, yes I truly do live in a beautiful place and I wish you could come and live with me too!! It would be nice to have someone to have a coffee with every morning and solve all the worlds problems :becky:

Felis- Interesting that you do not celebrate Halloween, glad that you do carve the pumpkins though. I have never had pumpkin cream soup, I bet its really good! The lake that I live near is called Quamichan Lake, its name origin is... "Quamichan" was an ogress in the lore of the Cowichan peoples who stole and ate children whose name was adopted by the subgroup of the Cowichan also called Kw'amutsun.(or Warm Land) Their community was adjacent to the lake. It is not a large lake, but very scenic. I wish that there was a walking trail around the whole lake though, that would be very nice!

Nancy - I am the same with Halloween, so cute to have the little ones all dressed up and come to the door! There are some very creative costumes out there. I helped my sister paint her granddaughters face for her Halloween party at school and that was fun and brought back good memories of getting the kids ready to trick or treat, I miss those days, but glad I don't have to do it anymore LOL. I used to only buy the candy that we really liked also, but now no candy at all for me and really I don't crave it anymore thanks to Keto. Your meal sounded delicious a very interesting combination and so nice that the boys loved it too! I hope your DH feels better soon, he certainly has his share of sinus problems poor guy! Enjoy your baseball tonight and I am sure you will also be watching hockey! Have fun!

:hello: to Jean and Rae I hope that you have a fun Halloween! Rae I hope that Taz is not too upset by all of the trick or treaters! Off to pour another cup of coffee and then head to the gallery!

Yesterday I kept putting off what I needed to do, but finally got it all done very late. Today is 70th birthday of DH's cousin. I did a digital card and emailed that but also put together the church records for the parents of her grandmother and made it into a little pdf booklet that I also emailed. Sure hope she likes it. She is the last of DH's close family to reach the 70s, so we're all there now. Today is nicer though still cold. We filled out our ballots and took them to the post office, so that is done. We had three local elections in which mostly no incumbents were running, so had to think a lot about who to vote for. Also state and county issues. Tonight I'm looking forward to seeing what madness the world series game will bring!

Chris, oh no! That is terrible for Cait. Sure hope her feeling better this morning continued but I can't imagine her going to school today. So sorry this Halloween is not your usual extravaganza. Still, sounds like tonight will be nice if Cait is OK.

Felis, your carved pumpkins and cream soup sound delightful. Hope it has been a good day. Glad you got those pages done. The weekly ones are inspiring me to get going. Also love the Joanne Brisebois challenge one. Sorry not to get to the gallery yet.

Nancy, dinner sounds like a success and maybe a surprise. I can't imagine I'd ever even think of some of the things you get and all sound great. Sure hope DH is doing better. Sorry he has all that sinus trouble. Well, have a fun time with the little ones tonight and enjoy baseball.

Trudy, looks like we cross-posted yesterday. So sorry to hear about MIL Vertigo is pretty scary by itself, but hope that's really all it was. I love it when you post photos of your view. They make me look out at a very different scene! I'm enjoying imagining you painting the new scene. Have fun with trick-or-treaters tonight even if numbers are down.

Rae, hope you and Taz have a good day and evening and that he isn't too stressed.
