I have no idea what I am doing or what day it is. I typed in the 29th, then changed it to the 28th, then back to the 29th. Whoever hired me for this job needs to be fired. (Ummmm.... would that be me?)

I'm so darn tired. Jaida had me up at 4.15, whining. I finally got out of bed at 4.45 to take her out and turned the coffee pot on to brew. Yesterday, I was awake at 4.30, today at 4.15. Not good.

But yay for :coffeedrinker:

I had another day where I thought it would have a slower, relaxed vibe and you know what? Aside from doing yoga, I don't think any of that happened. It was the first time in almost 2 weeks I did yoga and I noticed a huge difference. I was able to do some poses without shaking-- not anymore. The rest of my day, I was walking into things, spilling things, and dropping things. I was cutting acorn squashes to roast for the soup I was making and I was anticipating cutting off my finger. OK, maybe that is an exaggeration but I *was* concerned about my skin. I did hit my fingernail with the knife and that was enough for me to say whoa, nelly.

The soup was another most-of-the-day process but it was super yummy! Vegan Acorn Squash Bisque. Delish!
I was able to get a LO done for a new kit by Foxeysquirrel. She is (insert a ton of superlatives)) creative. I don't know how she does it but I feel like you can't make a bad page with her designs. I prepped today's lesson about bats and it took me a lot longer to cut out the bats from the cardboard boxes than I thought. I probably needed a new Xacto blade but that kind of went in the same category as the kitchen knives and acorn squash. :knifehead:

I never got to rework my lessons for the next session yesterday so I need to do that this morning. Working this afternoon.

Have a fun day whatever you do!

You know you can use us as your sounding board! It is what this family does for one another! :hug4:
Thank you, I truly appreciate that. Things seem to be rapidly going cattywampus with my parents and I'm not sure how to help. If I even can help.
Is the swelling in your wrist going down at all? If it isn't getting better, you might need to get it rechecked.

Chris Mom didn’t walk home from up the street. We drove her home and pulled into our garage. Man, if we had suggested her walking home like that, we would have had a rebellion of epic proportions! She is tiny but feisty. She was so active until she fell a little over a year ago. That has robbed her of her independence.
That makes much more sense! Not to mention how long it would take to walk 8 houses up the street with your mom. My mom is 82 and it would be 10 steps, take a break, 10 steps - another break...
I can’t give her back her independence, but I do what I can to make sure she has some quality to her life. We are maintaining her house and ours. We let her sit on her patio or front porch while we tend to her garden or trim shrubs. There are always neighbors out and about and they stop to chat with her when she is outside.
That is such a wonderful thing you are doing for her. ♥

There were all kinds of kids at the expo and it was fun to see some of them dressed up as firemen, policemen and EMT's there were lots of fun activities for the kids. I said goodbye to my DH at noon when he had to work at the forensic stall and did fingerprinting and fun DNA experiments with all the little people. He had a great time!
I can imagine how much fun your Gary had and he must have gotten such a kick out of the little kids. I bet he wished that Mason and Hunter could have been there too.
I'm sorry that you are putting the kayaks away but I guess it is time. :(

@AK_Tracy Sure, sure, you went to visit the grands. I bet you were really being a Sanderson Sister and were trying to siphon off some of their energy LOL!
th

I know that is what I would do if I could :p

I will never, ever EVER step foot in AK if 12" of snow is not considered a storm. That's awful, too much snow, and in October???? Gah!! Nope, not for me.

@BrightEyes MVD went well, that sounds unusual. At least it would be in NJ, notorious for taking hours and hours to do anything.
I should start prepping for winter but I am in denial. It's been easier since the weather has been warm and dry for Oct. Once we get that damp cold weather, I'll be feeling much different (angry LOL) about it.
I found another monarch caterpillar so I put it in the habitat the 4 others that are in chrysalis. Tonight it is Music Monday at the club so we will go over for social time and eat then listen to the band.
I am so excited for the butterflies! Hope you had a wonderful time at the club.

Tracy- hope that the snow stayed as snow and that it didn't get too bad out there.

Yes, actually, the swelling is down and the bruising is going away. Mark said the rainy, dreary weather may be part of it. But I'm going to send my doc a message to see what she says.

Good morning,
Well the car is still in the shop. The part arrived too late for the mechanic to get it fixed. So I guess another day in my pajamas is in order! ;)
I rested my wrist most of the day yesterday. The swelling is down and the bruising is going away and the wrist only hurts when I twist it or try to use it. I'm going to send my doc a message and see what she says.
I'm getting farther behind on my ATCs but it hurts to try to use my hands at the computer. I've been posting here using my phone and just my thumb for typing. As you can imagine it takes forever!
And with that said, I'm out of here for now.
Have a wonderful day!

The MVD here went to appointments only a couple of years ago... and the appointments can be set up on-line. Boy... what a difference!!! No more sitting and waiting for hours. I was in and out in about 20 minutes!!! :smiliesdoingwave2:

Morning, all. Have a couple of errands to run this morning. We have a cold front moving in so want to get home before the winds get too strong. And, yes, I did get all the fallen plus picked up out of the backyard yesterday afternoon. The 5 gallon bucket was 3/4 full!!! Just remembered that Daylight Savings time ends this coming Sunday!! Hate the time change as it takes weeks to adjust to it.

Off to get dressed and head out. BBL

@faerywings ---well whatever day it is you are doing a splendid job every day. Thank you for all you do.

@vickyday Hope that wrist is better. Is it your dominate hand?

I found another Monarch caterpillar this morning, it's always thrilling to find them in the milkweed plants. Just posted a page in gallery of chrysalis of 2 of them. Last year I raised 83 this year will be many less.

For the last few years I have been getting blisters on my lower lip when I am in the sun too long not only are they ugly they hurt. I have tried all sorts of sunblock but his morning I ordered Blue Lizard, it's highly recommended by friends so wish me luck. This going to the pool almost everyday is really making a mess of my lips.

I am cleaning the white gout in master bathroom floor...ugh. it's better but going for round 2 next. All the floors we have had put in I choose "dirt color" cause this white is a real PITA. I may recolor it for ease of maintenance.

@AK_Tracy are you plowing???

I better go get candy for the trick or treater's our development has 4,000 houses but we only had 1 last year

Have a great Tuesday the 29th

Morning ladies... it is another very dark and cloudy morning. Yesterday was filled with running errands and picking up a riding helmet for Mason and Hunter. I found one on Facebook MarketPlace and had to do a bit of a drive to get it, but it was worth it! The helmet is like brand new and not a scratch on it. I will ship it to Heather today with my last free shipping day for this year. Heather has been searching for a riding helmet for the boys for quite some time, but they were all just too darn expensive. This one was a steal and with the free shipping it was perfect timing for me to get this!! An early Christmas gift for the boys, they will be happy not to have to borrow a helmet from their instructor! Just thinking did I ever tell you guys that the boys were taking riding lessons??? It is one thing that Mason really loves to participate in besides his drum lessons and of course Hunter thought that he should do it also LOL. Not sure that Hunter will continue to like riding, he is not as fond of animals as Mason is and likes his sports and karate, he is more of rough kind of boy if that makes any sense?? Anyway today I have to find a box for the helmet and get it mailed, then I am finishing off the treat bags for the neighbourhood kids. Tomorrow looks like a very rainy day, so I might not be hiking. It will be a good day to catch up on things here at the O and work on my calendar too.

Sorry that you are not getting to sleep in these days! 4am is way too early to be getting up!! You are not allowed to quit or get fired from starting the O's how would the rest of us be able to start our day :giggle4: . Yikes on hitting your fingernail with the knife! I hope that you are not so shaky today and that you get to catch up on your sleep tonight! Yes my Gary had a lot of fun with the kids at the expo!! He chatted about it for a long time when he got home that day! I know he would have loved it if all of his grand kids could have been there, he would have been showing them off to everyone, he is a proud Grandpa!!
I rested my wrist most of the day yesterday. The swelling is down and the bruising is going away and the wrist only hurts when I twist it or try to use it. I'm going to send my doc a message and see what she says.

How nice to hear that you are finally starting to see the swelling come down on your wrist! Sorry it still hurts so much when you try to use the computer. Hope your Dr. has some words of wisdom for you, or gets you in for another x-ray!! Enjoy your PJ day!

Sorry that you are getting blisters on your lip, have you seen the Dr. to make sure its not a virus?? Sure hope that the blue lizard sunblock works for you!! Yes it must be a PITA to get that grout out of the floor!! Good choice to go with a more neutral colour!!

Alright my coffee cup is empty and I need one more cuppa before heading to the shower and getting on with the day. Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone! I think it will be Taco Tuesday at our house for dinner tonight, minus the Tacos lol. :waving3:

I love forensic science! Or at least what I see on TV's crime shows! Whether it's all true or not, it's very interesting! Is that what your DH works in?
I know you and your SIL are sad to have to put the kayaks away for the winter! What winter activities do you do to replace the warm weather activities?
Yeah, I probably need to get the wrist checked again. It's been a week and a half since I fell. I should probably at least send my doc a note to ask her about it.
Actually my husband worked in the Major Crimes division and loved it!! He would travel all over solving murders etc. He loved working at the crime scenes and attended autopsy's (gross). He did not work in forensics much, because they didn't get arrest people :giggle4: . So he was a bit miffed as to why they put him at that the table at the expo. But he has had a lot of experience in fingerprinting, so maybe that is why. So my DH is retired from the police force, but still works for the Municipality of North Cowichan and takes care of all the Crime exhibits and is also the Court liaison. He still enjoys working 5 days a week at the age of 70, not sure he will ever retire.

Good morning!
Chris youre awesome at this thread and we love how much time you put in getting us going every morning@! Wrong date? We dont care! We love you! :hug2:

OK, maybe that is an exaggeration but I *was* concerned about my skin. I did hit my fingernail with the knife and that was enough for me to say whoa, nelly.
Those kind of days are scary in now what moments. I tend to just stop and be done with the day cause I know I am gonna get hurt. LOL I'm glad you didn't get hurt or cut the finger off. Wold have made it even harder to get the daily o going. Nine finger typing sounds terrible :giggle4:
I will never, ever EVER step foot in AK if 12" of snow is not considered a storm. That's awful, too much snow, and in October???? Gah!! Nope, not for me.
Ummmmmmm yeah, come in summer!!! There's not as big a chance of a foot of snow. Yeah, I think they called it a storm cause its the first snow fall of the season. But were at a foot and counting so far. Wont stop until this afternoon.
I've been posting here using my phone and just my thumb for typing. As you can imagine it takes forever!
I'm glad its getting better but maybe voice text and rest that thumb. I agree that messaging your doc is a good idea.
The 5 gallon bucket was 3/4 full!!!
Kay, dont over do it. You're still recovering from this nasty cough and you dont need to over do it with plum picking. Be careful of the shoulder!!!
@AK_Tracy are you plowing???
I will be soon as the sun comes up!!!! Gotta plow a bit so I can get to PT and then come home for virtual appointment then to plow some more. WOOT WOOT! My second happy place.

Actually my husband worked in the Major Crimes division and loved it!!
That is so cool. Never a dull day at work I am sure. Always something new and puzzles to work out.

Today is NOT a stay home do nothing day. Its a stay home and plow day and I am doing a happy dance. Would have been nice if we could have had a good freeze and dusting first but oh well, we got over a foot so far. And its a wet heavy snow. Thankfully the roof is shedding the load. The dog are in love. They love the snow and running through it. So much fun to watch them romp around and play. Even the 8 year old dog acts like a puppy when it snows.

Okay, off for more coffee. Power keeps flickering cause its a wet snow on the lines. HAGD

24 hours difference. And its still coming down. I have to say the second photo is so ho-hum compared to reality. It just doesn't look as deep as it is LOL The left is brighter too cause the outside lights were on as my son left for work but work was cancelled today so that makes the right photo darker.

Did not pick the plums off the tree this year. They had some kind of fungus when I cut the first ones open!!! grey mold looking stuff by the seeds... UGH!!! And the plum tree is on a slope. I have fallen a couple of time in the past 2 years on it... so not going on it any more... So I just let the plums fall and roll down the slope to more level ground. I used a Reacher to pick them up so I don't have to bend over or stretch. I put them in the bucket then into a bag and into the trash bin.

Got to library - turned in books and picked up a few. Glad I went when I did... the winds have picked up and so came right home. Plan on staying in - resting and reading the rest of the day.... a cup of hot tea, a blanket, and a book while I sit in the recliner. :yesss:

Today ended up being a stay home day. When he sun started to come up and I could see the drive, I knew PT had to be cancelled. Then my friend cancelled our coffee date tonight. So I plowed for 2 hours, had virtual appointment and now have stew simmering for dinner. Sure am wore out from a day home :giggle4: But I am thankful I got to stay home. This snow is so wet, its packing down into ice.

Kay I'm glad you stayed off the hill part and didn't over do it. @BrightEyes

I'll bet he has some stories to tell! Would love talking to him! When I saw "still works for the Municipality of North Co...." I immediately thought.....no way! My mind immediately filled in North Carolina, lol! That would be so cool if you lived by me!
