I had to check and double check the date. It feels so weird that it is pitch dark outside but so warm for the end of October. The designers are working the December Collab which is about winter (and is freaking amazing!) and the families are talking about Thanksgiving. But it's 68* right now. Crazy crazy!

I can't figure out exactly what I did yesterday. I went food shopping. I scrapped a LO for a Nov Challenge. I tagged some things in ACDSee. I played with the dogs. I watched the season premiere of The Walking Dead. Lots of little things, nothing exciting at all.

Today, I am cleaning my kitchen and maybe the LR. I don't know if it is worth cleaning the LR floor. I feel like the mom of toddlers. Every time I put the dog toys back in the basket, I turn my back and they are all over the floor again with little bits and pieces that they have chewed off strewn about.

I have to bring Whisky into the vet for a weighing and then pick up the second round of Giardia meds for the girls. Whisky *finally* has normal dog poop and this is going to stir up her intestines all over again. I am wondering what her weight will be now. She seems like she is the same size but her skin is growing if that makes sense. When we got her, her skin was stretched so tight and her eyes bulged out of her skull. Now she has some neck skin and her eyes are looking normal. She is starting to resemble more a dog than a spindly fawn. It is fascinating watching her grow and develop. We rescued all of our pets but this is like a real rescue from the brink.

Have a wonderful day to you all!

Felis- how wonderful that you have opened your home and heart to so many cats who need you. When Gary first got so sick, my dog Harley was my link to sanity. That dog got me through really tough times. The world itself might not be a better place overall, but you are making *your* world a better place for yourself and for those cats in need. That is a very good thing.
I love making aromatherapy things. I would do that all of the time for family, friends, myself. But then-- Gary got sick and then I did, and so much of my life was put on hold. I posted a photo of my neighbor's house onFacebook, and I not sure if I can share it here with permissions and all that but I will see if I can figure it out.

Trudy- that is great news about your MIL feeling better. I hope that the service didn't wear her out mentally and physically. And am sure that FIL's stomach is hoping that too hahahah!!!!!

Nancy- what a great role model for courage and strength Brian Boyle is. That is so funny about your DS watching Outlander and then you watching TWD. As for who is good and bad in it-- that is always one of the driving questions. But Negan=Bad. ;)
It was fun to watch The Talking Dead afterward to see some of the old characters's come back.
Gary "invites" Jaida to jump on him and now Whisky thinks that she can do the same. Ugh. You are very lucky that Luther knows the difference between your DH and strangers.

Rae- oh no.... I am so sorry that Bailey is on that downward turn. She is bipolar, IIRC? Gary's cousin is bipolar and an addict and while that is so common it is also very hard for family and friends to cope.
I hope that she is getting the care that she needs, but from the way it sounds, I am doubting that.
But what a great b-day dinner and surprise!!! I have dual monitors set up and while they are smaller than your new one, it is so nice to scrap that way. Enjoy it!!!
BTW- you do not look like you are anywhere *close* to being 60! You look so young.

Jean- your DH must have so much fun with the music group. How is the car?? I know that I have said it before, but I am green with envy over heated seats. I had a remote start put in my old car so that helped a bit but now I have cold seats and a cold car. I will steal my kids' cars and their heated seats if they let me. Which they won't. *giggle*
I hope that your article writing goes well.

hugs and love to all!

good morning - well today I am going to give my youngest son some real praise. I feel he is spoiled by me but yesterday he came through big time. First he went grocery shopping for me after he worked but I figure that is fair as I have his dinner cooked. And it was a great meal - meatballs with bak choy and marinated turnips over jasmine rice. But around 10:30 last night he screams at me to bring him the hockey stick which is usually meant for killing spiders. Well he is upstairs in my bedroom and it turns out that our cat is play hide and seek with a field mouse. And it was pretty funny to see but I did not have my camera so no photos. Well no one was sleeping unless we got rid of the mouse. My DH was upstairs and he just ignored the situation. Must say a bit pissed at that but my son got the mouse with one blow (sorry Chris but there really was no way to catch it and release) and there was no suffering. The poor mouse was worse off being tormented by the cat. You could hear the mouse squeaking. So we all were able to sleep except Shadow was not happy that we took away her play toy. My son said he heard all this ruckus going on upstairs and new the cat must be in trouble little did he know it was a mouse. Not sure how the mouse got upstairs or why it would go upstairs. It is not like it is too cold for him outside. Anyway an interesting end to the night. Needless to say both my son and I were awake a bit before we could settle into sleep. The weather here is calling for lots of rain and wind and it was to start overnight and while we did get some rain it is now partly cloudy with wind and warm at 71. Weird weather. I have take Luther out and he is now zonked on the couch. I will be heading out to get my hair cut and colored. I would like the rain to hold off until after lunch but knowing my luck it will start just when I am finished LOL. The leaves are really starting to turn and this wind is blowing them off the trees. Leaf raking is in the future. As is laundry.

Chris glad the grocery shopping went well. And yes one thing I do know is that Negan is Evil. My son has two monitors but I think I would find it too confusing as to what is where. Hard to believe but another of the hockey players I follow was diagnosed with Guillian-Barre syndrome which is an autoimmune disease that causes weakness. I follow him as he is the son of a player that I really liked and my DH and I watched play at the University of Wisconsin, so he is around our son's age. These players are so lucky in the sense that they have such good health coverage. Shame it is not universal!

Felis hoping your weather stays nice so you can get your pets outside.

Trudy hope the day was not too stressful and the ILs were ok.

Rae that is awesome about the surprise birthday present. Two monitors will make your day! Sorry that Bailey is struggling again. I know my sister's boss's son is bipolar and it is an ever constant vigilance to help the person. Glad you are there for support for both.

Jean I think that is such a fun thing a music group that your DH belongs to. Does he practice at home or only when they get together. One regret is that I never learned a musical instrument. How is the car?

Have a great day all!

Good Morning ladies... Well we all survived the day yesterday and it was a very long one! The ride to Victoria went as expected with FIL trying to tell my DH where he should be going and how to get there LOL. My DH is very patient with his father and just says "its ok Dad I know where I am going, its not my first time driving in Victoria" There was lots of construction going on both on the highway and in Victoria, so it was a good thing we left a bit earlier and we arrived in good time. FIL treated us all to brunch and then we got to the church for the service in plenty of time. The service was very long almost 2 hours!! then we headed to the University Campus where there was a gathering for everyone with appies, coffee, tea, wine etc. A beautiful setting and nice place to talk with the family and reminiscing! A long drive home as of course we hit rush hour traffic and it took a long time to get home. DH and I had a quick supper of hot dogs (no bun for me) and then we watched a bit of TV. We were both in bed by 9pm and slept like the dead! I would imagine that MIL was sore and very tired by the time they arrived home, she looked worn out ! Today I will hit the pool and get my laps in, then I hope to get a calendar page done and perhaps some scrapping just for the fun of it!

Chris - How nice that you had a day of not doing anything too exciting but still a productive day of doing small things! I have a list a mile long of little things I should be doing, but I never seem to get them done! I will have to look on Facebook for the neighbours Halloween decorations! I bet its amazing! Good luck with the Vet visit today, hopefully you won't have to deal with runny bum with Whisky again! So nice that she is starting to resemble a healthy dog, she is a very lucky dog to have you as her rescuer!!

Nancy - Yikes! I wonder how the mouse got into your upstairs!! Poor little mouse, but probably more humane that you got it away from the cat and the torturing! Good for your son for doing all that to help you out! I bet you had a tough time getting to sleep! LOL We are up to our ears in fallen leaves in our backyard. Not a tree on our property but we get all the leaves from our neighbours Ugh!! I love the colours of the autumn leaves but not when they are on the ground! Enjoy your trip to the hairdressers, its always a treat isn't it?

Rae - It sounds like you had a wonderful birthday, although I am sad for you that Bailey is on the downward spiral again! All you can do is be there for her if she needs you, she must find her own way I suppose, no matter how heartbreaking that must be for everyone! What a great birthday gift you got! I love having two monitors, however my second monitor does not show the same colour quality as my iMac, I still really like having the two! Enjoy your new silicone baking pan, I have one for baking hamburger buns and I love it! I don't use the hamburger buns every time that I have a burger, but it is a nice change once in a while. Love your photo on Facebook and welcome to the Sixties club, its not so bad and you look so much younger than that! I hope you are not bogged down with too much work today!

Jean - What fun your DH must be having with the music group, sounds like they are a talented bunch! I hope that you are enjoying your new car with all the bells and whistles!! How nice to have heated seats! That is one thing that I really would love to have in my next vehicle, so cozy for you! Hope you manage to get your article done. Enjoy your day!

Well I am ready for my second cup of coffee and then waiting for a FaceTime call with Heather, she is starting to feel much better now thank goodness! I hope that you all have a wonderful day today and that the sun shines for all of you!

Good morning ladies. Had a frustrating afternoon but it all turned out ok eventually. D was having trouble getting the computer to recognize the 2nd monitor and it took a few hrs to get it hooked up right. Then we realized there were no internal speakers in the new one so I called Jen and she'll grab speakers from the store today when she goes to work (Staples) and a longer cable b/c the one we have doesn't stretch far enough. So both monitors are in position on my desk now (which took a bit of finagling b/c space is a bit tight with 2 computers, 1 laptop and 3 monitors (includes my work stuff). But now it's set up. I tried a few things last night. The best is being able to work on PS with LO/image on one screen and the panels on the other with ACDSEE. This is awesome.

We spent so much time getting things set up yesterday that I'll be super busy today as I didn't get the work catch-up time yesterday I was expecting to have. But that's ok. It's worth it.

Chris - Bailey has multiple diagnoses so bipolar, depression, anxiety, axis 1, all kinds of diagnoses have been given over the last couple of yrs. She hasn't taken any drugs for it, just her methadone for the heroin addiction and they seem to accept that alcoholism is not something to deal with yet, if ever. Its the only thing that gets her thru the day. So sad. We just pray she comes out the other end of it someday and we all do what we can to help.

I know what you mean about the floors. Even though Taz does shed as much as our other dogs used to, its enough to always have bit of fluff all over and he tracks stuff in from outside constantly. Things get stuck in his fur and then he shakes it off in the house. I don't think I ever have completely clean floors and honestly, I don't try that hard anymore :)

Trudy - glad the day went ok aside from the long drive and yes, that sounds like a long service. Enjoy the swim today and scrapping later. Enjoy the FT with Heather today.

Nancy - poor little mouse. I understand putting it out of its misery when the cat is after it but I couldn't do it. I'd be trying to put cubes of cheese out the door or something to get it out LOL.

Felis and Jean - hope you are having a great day.

I'm getting another coffee and getting to work now. Have a great day everyone.

Looks like most of you are have bad day, sorry! Here was busy day full with bunch of little tasks. So I prefer to give attention to you, then that to lose time to describe it, because is very late now!

Chris, hope that the visit at the vet has gone well! I can understand you completely about the toys. Cats always lose theirs somewhere. Thank you for your kindly words. But I don't feel it this way! To care for dozen healthy cats is not big deal. They are very independent creatures, at most of the time they have their own life which happened around me till I cleaning :D . Before when I had dog with disability was really important act. I hope to can do it again in future! But right now I don't have financial and emotional possibility.

Nancy, sounds like you are have terrible day. My big nightmare is when I receive corpse for a gift from my childrens. I was telling before for my Hunter, the cat of the Hades. She don't eat them but continue to bring it at home. This petrified me! So I can imagine the panik wich is happened in your home.

Trudy, good that your MIL is feel better. Hope that today you are have better day!

Rae, so sweet surprise your family is make to you! Looks like beginning is being difficult, but after you are set up it, you'll have so much fun. I didn't know for your daughter Bailey. Probably this is difficult for you. All we could do for our family is to be with them. My grandpa was alcoholic and no therapy helped him. Sometimes life broke us irreversible. I'm not sure what is appropriate people to tell in these cases. Just don't forget that what hurt you are her demons, not your child. Hope she will be strong enough to can pass through that!

Jean, I was understand that you will keep the old car and your husband take the new. But maybe I have not understood?!

Sweet dreams, my dears! Hope to the better day tomorrow!

Don't know where this day has gone. Went to my doctor's appt. (this time, finally, not cancelled) and got a pneumonia booster shot (one before 65, one after, then a booster, then done - so this should be the last!) Also set up to get other appts. including seeing ortho about my knee (though better, not so great). Best though was driving the new car! It is a pretty bright red and more sporty looking than Accords have been. (Felis, we only have one car, so while I wouldn't have been for getting a new one yet, DH was very ready.) Last time I was really glad he convinced me, so hopefully it'll be true this time as well. We got groceries and did a little else, but that's all I remember. Tonight we'll be watching the start of the World Series.

Chris, hope W had a good vet appt and will not revert from normal with the meds. Such a nice description you gave of how her appearance is changing. Lucky doggie to be with you all. Don't look now, but those warm temps are about to be gone. In the 50s here, maybe not quite there tomorrow. But we may be back into the 60s for a bit. Can't imagine you will be warmer.

Nancy, how nice to have DS step up for you. This is the second day with good stories about him! But poor mouse. I too wonder how it got there. Doesn't the cat stay upstairs? Otherwise I'd think it brought it up.

Trudy, glad everyone made it through the day yesterday. Sounds about like what you expected, except perhaps length of the service. Hope swimming and all went well today. Sigh of relief for you that Heather is feeling better.

Rae, know you'll be hard at work today, but the monitors already sound like they'll be a big hit.

Felis, little tasks fill up the days even if they don't give the greatest sense of satisfaction. Hope tomorrow will feel better.
