The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
helloOOOO my lOves!
I think I slept really well last night because I don't feel like I am dragging my butt through a vat of maple syrup. It's more like a vat of Shop Rite's Pancake syrup, definitely not as dense. LOL

How was everyone's Monday? Mine didn't feel like a Monday at all. I worked on Saturday, and Caitlyn was home yesterday. Everything felt weird. I know I got a few more things done around the house, yet it still doesn't feel like I accomplished much of anything. I spent an hour on the phone walking my brother through creating an Evite. He is hosting a surprise b-day party for my SIL and asked me to help him with the website.
I packed away my summer clothes :bawling: . So sad. And I made a freaking amazing dinner. Since I got so many bags of lentils from FP (6!!)I had been looking for recipes using them. I found a recipe for a crispy lentil salad and made panko and lemon tofu cubes to go on top. It was arugula, the roasted lentils, red onions, avocado, and a lemon dijon dressing. I had vegetarian goat cheese (also from the FP, the tofu was too-- thank you so much FP for your help) for the three of us to crumble on top. I had to go back for seconds.

However, the best part of my day-- I scrapped!! I had started an AJ Week 2 page on Sunday and finished that yesterday, along with the combined Weeks 1-2. I wouldn't say that my mojo is *back*, but it hasn't disappeared completely.

Gary and I have an appt at the DMV this morning to register the new car. It's an hour away so we need to leave here at 8 am. Yuck.
The rest of the day is open so I am trying to study the lesson plan for the BSA Forestry Merit Badge. Did I tell you that my Merit Badge Counselor Application finally went through? It took Nicole most of the summer to get it straightened out because of staff issues at the BSA. When I was helping my coworker the other day-- he is the Merit Badge Whisperer - I asked if I could lead part of the Forestry badge program on the 25th. Now I have to learn how to use Google Slides and everything that has to be covered for the Badge Requirements.

No pressure, Faery :D

HAGD!

HAGD!
You will do great on the Merit Badge lesson!
Sounds like you had a good day yesterday!

@LSlycord I have such a love/hate relationship with tech so I feel your pain with MS and OneDrive.
As long as you can connect to the internet and visit us here, everything else will be OK :D
Two years...I really don't have a very good handle on time. We were in Florida just shy of 6 years. No idea how it was that long.
:wow2: Time truly has no meaning anymore.
.....before I.....? Do you want us to fill in the blank? ;)
Please fill in the blank with whatever you like. It has to be nicer than my idea of going *splat* :flyswatter:

Yes, the old adage, "The older I get, the faster time passes" is more than true!
Soooo true!

Good Morning.
:sleeping1:
Oh what? I need to be awake? Why?? Oh dogs and kids and life. If you insist.
:coffee1::coffeedrinker:
Uh-huh. Life.
More coffee for us all.
:coffeedrinker:
I think my coffee may have been a bit extra today. Feeling my sass rising :floorlaugh::brrr::floorlaugh: Maybe its the frosty weather bringing out the sass. Or maybe I'm just in denial its always there.
Noooo! I take it back- no coffee for you!

Oh, I cannot believe this!!! Who on earth would do something like that to you?!?!!
Not. A. Clue.
Someone truly awful, I suppose.
:giggle4:
Been busy scrapping since I woke up so early (5 AM).
Yipeeee! That is for the scrapping, not the waking up at 5 am.
Hope you slept in today!

:grouphugyay:

Good Morning,
Got up when Mark left at 5:30.
Put the dishes away.
Picked up a bit around the house.
Enjoying some coffee and looked over my devotion for the widows today.
Mark has a cold, so I would not let him kiss me goodnight or goodbye this morning. I already feel like I might be trying to get it, blast!!! I will have to try and not hug the widows today!
That will take up most of my day. If I feel like it when I get back around 3, I will run the church deposit to the bank. But, more than likely, it will be an errand for tomorrow!
Hope everyone has a great day!

HA! Your SPLAT icon was not on your post yesterday! If it was, I totally missed it!

Good morning ladies! I am up and finished my devotions for the day. So here I am at the O!

Yesterday, I baked a loaf of bread. I tried a new recipe but I wasn't crazy about it. It was ok...and we are eating the bread...but I don't think that it will replace Grandma's bread recipe. That is my favorite. Also had dinner ready when Shaun got home from work at 6:30. We had pork chops, corn pudding and AE cottage cheese. I'm sure that there will be a scrap page on AE cottage cheese in my future. Got my Med Supp and Part D figured out so there is that.

Today will be figuring out health insurance for Brian and Sydney who aren't old enough for Medicare. And completely getting this OneDrive cloud straightened out. :stupicpc: We bought a half of a hog and it is ready at the locker but I think Brian will drive over and get that. Anxious to try the meat! And grateful to have a freezer full of meat going into the winter with food prices going up, up and away! Also meeting a friend for lunch. Looking forward to that.

Yes...I am so glad that everyone is on my side with this Cloud nonsense. The funny thing is that I spent over 40 years in IT so I've been using the Cloud for awhile. But I didn't have to worry about my PC. I had it for my old PC, but I selected what I wanted to put up there. I looked for an emoji of a storm cloud...because that is how I feel about it. Anyway, enough of my complaining about the cloud.

@vickyday hope that Bible Study goes well today. I'm sure that the Widows really appreciate it.

@AK_Tracy it is possible that I might have a few "control freak" tendencies myself. Maybe... Well don't ask the people who live with me! They absolutely exaggerate!

@tanteva you and your ketchup!!! :lol23:

@BrightEyes I need to find my EHD. It is packed in a box somewhere. In the meantime, I may need to order a new one. Since I absolutely am not leaving everything in the cloud!

Have a great day ladies!!!

Morning, all. Not a happy camper this morning.... last evening I was ready to get into bed early. I was standing by the bed and pushing on the control to raise the head of the bed to a comfortable reading level when it suddenly stopped. Pushed on the control again... and again.... Tried other buttons.... NADA.... Unplugged the cord and moved it to another electric plug... and saw a small spark. NOPE... I pulled the cord immediately. Looks like the motor on the bed frame has shorted out. :crying1: :thud::( (The motor is under the adjustable frame - only about 10" above the carpet.. YIKES!!!) The only good thing is that head of the bed ended up just slightly higher than where I usually have it for sleeping (raised to 12" rather than 10"). So looks like I will not only be getting a new mattress... will have to buy a new frame, too. The question is do I want to buy another adjustable one or not. We bought this one in 2016 so it only lasted nine years... and the mattress already had sunken spots in it for the last 4 years. The guest room queen mattress/box spring is over 20 years old and is like new still... even though it has been slept on for over half that time. Decisions, decisions, decisions!!! I am seriously thinking about going back to a mattress/box spring/frame... and lots of pillows. :) I can live with my bed like it is for awhile until I decide.

Mark has a cold, so I would not let him kiss me goodnight or goodbye this morning. I already feel like I might be trying to get it, blast!!!
NOT a doctor! Just what works for me. Double up the D and take a C hourly!!!! Any extra C is released in pee and wont harm you. When I feel a cold coming on I take a D at breakfast and bedtime. I take a C at 7, 8, 9, 10, and noon and then 3. It really seems to work for me but again, I am not a dr and I dont know what that would do to your IBS.
We bought a half of a hog and it is ready at the locker
Its that time of year. I spent half hour on the phone yesterday talking to the butcher on how we wanted our cow cut and packaged. Its so nice to buy meat once and have it last mostly a year. The sad part is the rancher didn't do chickens this year so I dont know what we will do about that. Need to do a pig again though cause bacon and ham have increased in price so much where I am.
@AK_Tracy it is possible that I might have a few "control freak" tendencies myself. Maybe... Well don't ask the people who live with me! They absolutely exaggerate!
Oh I would NEVER ask those who live with us. They ALWAYS exaggerate and make it sound horrible. And hello! If we didn't have control their lives would spiral into crazy chaos in a heartbeat. So yeah, Control Freaks Unite!!!! We keep the world spinning, at least in our houses.
Decisions, decisions, decisions!!! I am seriously thinking about going back to a mattress/box spring/frame... and lots of pillows. :) I can live with my bed like it is for awhile until I decide.
Oooohhhhh the choices are so numerous. I dont have an adjustable bed. My friend who does has had to replace his mattress once already. We bought ours the same year and I'm still good. I use a wedge pillow and it works great for raising the head and yet I can just toss it to the floor when done. Its great when I need legs raised too. Good luck deciding what you what.

Not a lot happening here today. Gonna work on some projects that got put off over summer and get them done before snow flies. Also need to put away all the stuff outside. Really dont want that covered in snow since its in the plow zone. Off to start my day! Have a wonderful day!

I'm not very good at writing in this daily thread. I usually turn up when I have something to whine about.

But! Today I want to share something I am so HAPPY about. John (son) started school in August after been sitting home for 10+ years. And he loves it! Last Friday he came home and said he longed for it to be Monday, and he could go to school again. It's like he's fallen in love with school. He's staying after school with friends. He's planning to go to the Halloween party at school. It's like I have a completely new son.

My heart sings with joy.

I have a wedge pillow that I used before we got the adjustable bed... need to find where I stashed it. Probably somewhere in the garage!!! :floorlaugh: If I can't find it... will just buy a new one. Yep... mind is made up... going back to mattress/box spring/frame. They last a lot longer!!!

You are right... prices on meat/poultry have gone sky-high. I buy meat when it goes on sale. Eating a lot more lentils, beans, and cheese lately.

Doing a happy dance along with you... So glad he is enjoying school.

The heater guy has come and gone.... Did an outstanding job on making sure it is ready for the cold weather that is due to arrive on Thursday. And the cost was so reasonable!!! Plus I will be getting a rebate from the gas company that just about covers the cost. dance3

While I was waiting for him to arrive... I downloaded - 52 Inspirations 2025 No 41 - Mixed Media papers NO 41 October Mood by A Whimsical Adventure. Love those papers. Discovered that the image of Alice and Word Arts from The Forgotten Wonderland - by A Whimsical Adventure were perfect to use with those papers!!! Whoo-whee!!! Got it scrapped and uploaded before he got here.

Have the last 2 loads of laundry in washing and drying. Think I will do some on-line looking at beds/frames to get an idea of what it is going to cost. I will look at them as my birthday (Nov) and Christmas present to myself.... :floorlaugh:

Oh no! Don't tell me this! Ours is 7 years old! Our mattress is memory foam and is 14" thick and is sooo heavy! But it's still in good shape. Im hoping the mechanics last a lot longer than 10 years!

Thank you for the advice, Doc! ;)

@BrightEyes DD has power bed and they have put another mattress on theirs. We got new mattress a few years ago..they told us a mattress is only good for max 7 years. Good luck with your bed situation.

@tanteva good thing your son is loving school. Our children and grandchildren had years of hating and years of loving...often its the teacher.

@LSlycord How nice to get a fresh pig ...when we were young we raised fresh pork and our son grows them now...so delicious. Enjoy

@AK_Tracy Did I read that you are going to have a quiet day but prepping for snow is not an easy thing if I remember correctly from our Northern live.

@faerywings Good luck at DMV. In CT it was miserable but down here in FL it's minutes to do anything...

OK not sure when I will be back tomorrow morning I need to be at the surgery center at 6 so I am first patient...I went to get my pain meds that I will probably not take.

I hope you are all well and stay well.
