:grimreaper:Welcome to spooky season! :flyingwitch:
Now if I can just get myself and house house spookified.

How are you doing today? Ready for the new month and new challenges? And DSD Dollar Days? So much happening all at once.
My "day off" flew by and it felt nice not having to be anywhere for a change. I had time to scrap a page and get out in the yard for an hour. Plus I cooked a yummy dinner- enchilada rice skillet and doubled the recipe so we can have leftovers tonight.

Today I am picking up my groceries and then off to work. Today we are learning about corn. I searched for some fun facts about corn and found out that they aren't a vegetable, they are a grass. And their roots can grow 3-5 feet below ground. One ear of corn can have around 600 kernels.
Oooh-- cool idea, maybe I'll have the kids lie on the ground and show how long that is--above and below ground. There are only three kids today... might not work. I'll have to figure it out.

I don't have much to say (complain?! :pokestick:) this morning so I'll post this and then move on to personals!

Good morning!
I'm off to the doctor appt. today. A followup from my April visit to do bloodwork to see how/if the vitamins are helping with the b12 deficiency. I won't be doing another DEXA scan for several months.
After the doctor the plan is to go to Ilene's for the day.
Other than that not much going on.
I still need to catch up on my daily ATCs. I did finish the September review pages. I need to get them posted.
Like @faerywings , nothing else to say, LOL!
Have a great day!

@taxed4ever That's great news that DS is coming to visit! :woohoo:
Were you able to get the wine-making filter up and running? Good luck getting some scrap time in soon!!

I didn't ruin my slow day. Reno work wont start for a few days, just the plotting happened. Then yesterday we bought the tiles.
Plotting can take some decent mental energy. Oh... that is only for "evil plotting" muhahaah! Reno plotting is more like dreaming, that's easy LOL!
Hope you had some decent downtime off your feet yesterday!

Holy cow, I wish it would stop raining! We have had over 5" in the last week, and there were 2" the days preceding, so nowhere for water to go. Here is a video of one of our trails from Friday evening. the sign you see sticking up from the water is where one of our trails is.
That's a crazy video of the water! I hope that the rain didn't mess up the areas you just cleaned and repaired. I seriously cannot complain - the rain we have been getting is more of a nuisance than anything. The southeast is inundated :(

@BrightEyes I saw you posted a tutorial, I am going to see if I can play around with it hopefully tomorrow morning!

@JeanneMN I can't get over how big-- and heavy- your lilies are. Pretty persistent plants too that they dug right into the sediment at the bottom of the pond.
Of COURSE you did well on the Badge program!!!
I hope you enjoyed your not-so-much-of-a-day-off day today! ;). Housework!!!! Who needs it?! ;)

Isn't that the truth? :D
How is your back today? Hope you got a good amount of rest.
Such a good thing to see - the photo of your pastor warms my heart.

@Terri M yes to the cleaning supplies! Most people will kindly send canned food, but cleaning supplies are often really hard to come by and expensive
Did anyone fall in the creek this time?
haha!! Not this time! It was a GS troop- (7-8 yos) and a completely different vibe then a bunch of 6th grade boys :floorlaugh:

♥ Love to all of you!! ♥

The back is feeling much better today!
Our pastor got back last night. He sent some pictures but said the pictures don't even compare to the actual devastation! He said the people were so grateful for the supplies they took!

Morning, all. Woke up at 5:30AM...ugh!!! Gave in and got up... even before the sun was up. We had some high winds last evening, Tipped 2 of that patio chairs and almost blew the patio swing set over, so I ran out and took the swing down from the frame and tucked it behind the patio table. A lot of the leaves from the trees blew off and now are on the patio. The temps will be in the mid-to-high 80's all week! So it still feels like summer.

Need to take a look at the October challenges and see which I can work on. It doesn't seem like Oct yet with the temps so high. Maybe I should get out the fall decorations to put me in the autumn mood.

Yay October! Probably my favorite month. Although, to be honest, I still have my spring garden flags hanging up. I never did get around to putting up summer. But tulips will just look ridiculous in October so if it stops raining tomorrow I'll put up autumn flags before we leave on our cruise.

Today I get the stitches out of my wrist and get rid of the big bandage/brace. :woohoo:I am counting the hours, 4.5 from now! I hope I can knit then.

Chorus rehearsal canceled tonight because of flooded roads. I really really hope this is the last day of this weather, and that any more hurricanes this year just churn around in the ocean and leave us all alone.

Going to check out this month's challenges and DSD offerings. I need to do a page about Kris Kristofferson. One of my all-time favorites, such a poet.

Morning everyone! Well it seems I must have been asleep at the helm while working on getting the challenge tracking thread for October done :giggle4: seems I posted the wrong list of challenges. Thank you so much :thankyouspin:to whomever corrected it for me. That's what I get for trying to do too many things at once. I will be a bit more focused today while working on the coupons I hope!! It is quiet here this morning so far and all I have to finish doing today in the way of house work is vacuum :vacuuming: and wash the floors. I will have to do a quick run to the grocery store later to get more lettuce and coffee too. So I am thinking that the majority of my day will be sitting here on the computer and hopefully get a page done for one of the challenges. I am going to have to start my calendars very soon, that always stresses me out, so perhaps if start right away it will go a bit smoother than it did last year.

Today I am picking up my groceries and then off to work. Today we are learning about corn. I searched for some fun facts about corn and found out that they aren't a vegetable, they are a grass. And their roots can grow 3-5 feet below ground. One ear of corn can have around 600 kernels.
Only three kids today? It will seem very quiet for you! No wonder corn is not good for you, its grass and people aren't supposed to eat grass right?!! I learned something new from you today, thanks for that!! What a great idea to double your recipe and now tonights dinner is taken care of! Enjoy your work day!!
I'm off to the doctor appt. today. A followup from my April visit to do bloodwork to see how/if the vitamins are helping with the b12 deficiency. I won't be doing another DEXA scan for several months.

Other than that not much going on.
I hope that your bloodwork comes back with some good news! I haven't had bloodwork done for a long time, so I am thinking my doctor will soon be getting in touch with me and reminding me to get that done! Enjoy your day with Ilene today! Say:wavinghello:to her from me.
Need to take a look at the October challenges and see which I can work on. It doesn't seem like Oct yet with the temps so high. Maybe I should get out the fall decorations to put me in the autumn mood.
You were up very early!! I hope that you can stay awake and get some scrapping done. I had to get out some Autumn decor the other day to get me in the mood for Fall Season too. It has kind of snuck up on all of us I think!
Today I get the stitches out of my wrist and get rid of the big bandage/brace. :woohoo:I am counting the hours, 4.5 from now! I hope I can knit then.
That is great news that you will have the stitches out and brace removed today! When are you going on your cruise?

winemaking sounds fun! We haven't tried that yet. We've done beer and meed but not wine. Hubs tried hard cider once and had fun. We have ten foot ceilings and well, we ended up with hard cider on the ceiling. He was heating a bottle to reseal it and it decided to shoot off like a rocket. It was an interesting time.
DH and I have been making our own wine for years, it was something that we got into when we lived in Saskatchewan and it helped us get through those long winter months in more ways than one :drinkbuddies::giggle4:. Tracy you might want to check the challenge tracking thread and change the list of challenges, seems I screwed it up this month.
Why do we all live so far apart?? We have a really, really nice one, it was expensive but I would have given it to you . We got rid of all of our carboys a couple of years ago, gave them to a young winery in northern Minnesota run by veterans.
Aww aren't you nice to have given us your pump!! Yes we all live too far apart!! The work you have done to get your pond ready for winter seems like it was heavy and difficult, but I am sure it was all worth it and it must be so pretty all summer long!
Quick check in - Mark went to the doctor today and got his stitches out, and the doc is super happy with his progress. He's cleared to drive, which makes getting him to PT immensely easier. He's also OK to go back to work with restrictions before 6 weeks if he feels up to it.
How wonderful that your Mark is doing well with his recovery and is good to go back to work!

Ok I am ready for my second cup of coffee and then I am sure that Heather will be calling soon. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

A beautiful frosty good morning to you all!!

Ready for the new month and new challenges? And DSD Dollar Days?
I am ready for new challenges and yeah for sales but ugh its not aligning with payday. :giggle4: Hello credit card, lets go play.
I'm off to the doctor appt. today. A followup from my April visit to do bloodwork to see how/if the vitamins are helping with the b12 deficiency.
I hope youre blood work comes back good and everything you have been doing is helping.

Hope you had some decent downtime off your feet yesterday!
What's that? :floorlaugh: I haven't deep cleaned my house in a couple weeks and yesterday was my one day to stay home so of course I over did it. But my house is cleaned. Laundry is done. Bed is made. It felt good but I did too much and powered through when I should have rested.
Gave in and got up... even before the sun was up
I'm sorry you were up so early. We are at the time of year when I am up before the sun every day. Sunrise isn't until 8:15 now so its easy to be up first. What I love is that now I get to see the sunrises over the lake. So beautiful.
Yay October! Probably my favorite month
I agree. Its so beautiful here in October. Cool and crisp. Hope stitch removal is painless and youre able to knit again.
Well it seems I must have been asleep at the helm while working on getting the challenge tracking thread for October done :giggle4: seems I posted the wrong list of challenges.
:floorlaugh: That's so funny. I doubt you were sleeping. I think you were over worked with everything at inlaws house.

I love this! Great way to pass the long cold winter months! :wine4: That's how beer started at our house. Hubs was gifted a gallon home brew kit and then it took off and he found how much fun it was to make. I like the cost, its way cheaper then buying.

Its officially October and the temps match, 32* this morning. Will drop a degree or two as the run rises. Might hit 50 today. Time to pull out the sweatshirts and carry a coat in the car just in case. Today is busy and crazy so I wont be here much but will check in as I have time.
Have a wonderful day!!!

Off to fix my challenge tracker and then look at layouts. :heartpumppink:

That is NOT cool and crisp. That is cold!
:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:
Its cool and crisp because I know it will warm to 50* later. Cold is when it stays at 32 or when 32 is the high. October really is cool and crisp the first week or two. Its so nice to be outside and do things cause you dont over heat.

Ended up not going to Ilene's. She's babysitting a GGS that was born in January. Thankfully her daughter is going to be there too!
