Celebrating and thankfulness on Armistice Day, Remembrance Day, and Veterans Day today.

Wasn't WWI supposed to be the war to end all wars? Almost 100 years later, and no end in sight all over the world. Why can't everyone be :hippie: and sing Give Peace a Chance?
Maybe someday... *hopeful*

How was everyone's Monday? I had another crazyfaeryday. It started out that as I was driving to work I see an ambulance and paramedic driving down the Mountain, and I was driving up. My stomach sank, I had a bad feeling. I get to my client's house (she is the one who has MS) and I see a car I don't recognize in the driveway. More stomach sinking. When I get to the font door, her 11 yo DD answers (this is the one that had the emergency MRI 2 weeks ago) and tells me that her mom was on her way to the hospital-- yup, the ambulance that I just passed.
Her grandma was there and we decided that I should go ahead and clean, that way when she gets home, the house will be in order. The husband keeps calling and the grandma tells me that he is upset at the girl b/c he thinks her headaches are causing the mom to be so sick. Grandma is trying not to cry, I offer to make her tea...I am hugging the girl... feeling helpless for them.
I get home and tell Gary that no matter how difficult our lives are, it can always be worse.

Then, we get a call from the mechanic. Gary's car is in the shop and it needs well over $1300 worth of work. It was my dad's car, and they pass them down to us. It is old and has a lot of miles and not worth putting the money into. It's not even worth that much!
So now we don't know what to do. I am not comfortable leaving him w/o a car. And pretty soon, Cait is going to start driving, so if we end up getting another car, they will be the ones sharing it. But damn! Where am I gonna get the money for that?

Then the coil cleaning co comes for the annual descaling of our hot water coils and there is some "mixing valve" that is not working on the furnace. He was able to bypass it but we will need that replaced sometime too.

Today is food shopping -- yay fun. I saw Phyllis's post on FB that the new Diet is I can't Afford Food (or something like that) and it is the truth. I am really glad that we don't eat meat. Beans are so much cheaper. LOL
Which reminds me, I need to add chick peas to my shopping list for falafel.

Tip on Tuesday:
When you have days like I have, buy wine in a box.

Thank you for the printer ideas too- before I left for work, I cleaned the nozzles, they were fine, 60% and 80% full of ink, calibrated the printer... still no good. I found out that my printer is 10 years old, that is like a dinosaur in printer years LOL
We looked at some reviews and saw this one: Canon PIXMA MG7520 I guess I am going to have to pass the info along to my IL's to see if that would be a good Christmas gift.

Phyllis- glad to hear that life is calm-ish in spite of your house looking like a craft room explosion!! heehee! I bet your cards are looking amazing!
The weather was nice here too, so I collected as many morning glory seeds as I could, then cut the rest of the vines down. I left them on the ground near the fence so they can hopefully reseed themselves there.
I am so with you on the cost of printer ink. It's nuts!

Nancy- That is a cool raffle- I hope you win! I feel your pain with your son's reaction to dinner. Last night, I was going to make caramelized onion quesadillas. Scott was at Leah's and Cait was off to her BFF's so it would just be the two of us He tells me that he doesn't really like them. I have been making these for months now, why hasn't he told me this sooner? *throws my hands in the air* I give up! LOL

Jean- hope that you were able to enjoy the weather too and maybe even got to see some birds?

Time for me to make Bus Stop Run #1
enjoy the day sweetie-O's!

good morning - Happy Veterans Day. My son was an active Marine so this is a special day for me. Thanks to all who have served and to those left behind worrying. My youngest son was up at 6 am today because at 3 am a new video game came out. He took the day off to play. When will he grow up? Yesterday was so nice I got in a good walk. I did not go to the store. My NJ Devils lost to the Boston Bruins (I know this made Trudy's husband happy). The Devils seemed to forget how to play for 2 min at the end of the 2nd period and Boston scored 2 goals. Today I am going out to dinner tonight with the family of my husband's former student. Should be fun. They are heading to California for a new job. Exciting for them.

Chris so sorry about the car! That is a lot for repairs. That is a sad story about the family you clean for. I can't imagine the dad blaming the child for making the Mom sick. I know what you mean about thinking you have problems until you hear about other families. So sorry for them. She will love coming home to a clean home.

Phylis we are having nice weather here too at least through Wednesday and then the cold hits.

Jean hope you enjoyed the weather.

Have a great day all!

Hope it's a better day for all, especially those of us still on the warm side of the coming cold front.

I worked for the U.S. Navy for many years so have special feeling for sailors. Brother was a Marine in the Korean War too. Grandfather was an army man. So I guess it's personal remembering them all today.
