Who has a sugar hangover?
Not me... I only had one piece of Halloween candy even though we have lots left over. We had a total of 4 groups of kids, 10-12 kids altogether. One of the sparsest nights I can remember, especially considering the weather was decent. It didn't even really feel like Halloween in a lot of ways. The dogs looked very cute in their spooky bandanas at least :)

This morning is going to be busy. I have to get my groceries at 9 am, run home, unpack, then head right back out to the dentist. (I told you all of this already didn't I?) I need to figure out what the rest of the week is going to look like. My SIL's father passed away yesterday. He had been very sick for months (cancer :( ) . The wake is Saturday and I need to figure out the how/when/who is going. It's 2 hours away so I can either try and get a ride with Gary's parents or drive down on my own.

Still no official word re: the job offer but Cait is still getting good vibes from her boss so that's a good sign :)

hugs!

@tanteva I like your Halloween sticker!

@LSlycord I wonder if your cold was actually covid... the fatigue seems more like it to me. MIL said that was a distinguishing feature for her. So glad that you are feeling better and hope Brian is better too.
Whoooweeee, those sats are rough! I complain about a 2-hour drive anywhere (I have a hard time sitting still in a car for that long) But it seems like it was very much worth seeing so many of your family.
had to laugh at Syd calling as a way to procrastinate over her HW. Caitlyn had done that with me before. Are you counting the hours until lunch Thursday? *G*
Scott *loves* his new car, hopefully, he will continue to love it as the payments roll in. ha! He and Sam are all good too ♥ I printed out a picture of the two of them to add to the family "wall." I asked her if it was ok if I scrap pictures of them too and got two thumbs up.

@vickyday The robot costume sounds adorable for DS. It was always fun making our own costumes. Yeah, that sounds the same here, there are a few developments that get all of the kids which makes sense because my town has no sidewalks and very few streetlights. But we would at least get some of the kids who live on our street at our door. This year -- pfftt. :(

@bcgal00 yay! I am not surprised that Remi won your friend over! She is just such a happy pup! LOL at having the sticks still in the car. That is weird about the outdoor lights- hope they last ok.

@Cherylndesigns OMG-- look at you !! Love the costume! Everyone looks fantastic!

Gotta get going!!

Good morning. Getting a late start this morning...Syd texted at 1:19. She has a special ringtone so it scared me when it woke me from a sound sleep. She had a 4 hour exam in her Engineering Design class and if she scored high enough, she would certify in a software package that will look good on her resume. She was worried about it and you need to take the exam within a 24 hour period, but you need to have a block of 4 hours to work on it. She needed 160 to pass and she got 210 so she can add certified in SolidWorks to her resume. So, that had her happy. Then it took me awhile to get back to sleep but it was worth it!

Got a call about the job yesterday. Three or four weeks ago, they had 5-7 positions to fill. Last week, they pulled all of those jobs and decided to not fill them at this time. So back to the job search. The market may not be good right now...or I'm just extremely unlucky. Anyway, we will see what happens. So, I'm going to file for Social Security to start in January.

Today is our last day predicted with temps in the mid-80's. Tomorrow switches to mid-80's and sometime next week we will switch to highs of 70's. This is my season in Florida. And going to start working on my Thanksgiving grocery list. With the prices of groceries and the shortages, I figure that I will start buying now. After all, it is November.

Also, need to get to the AT&T store and get Shaun and Brian need new phones. I hate trips to the AT&T store.

@faerywings you are right...I am counting down the hours to lunch on Thursday. Glad to hear that Cait is still getting good vibes
on the job. Sorry about your SIL's father. Can't wait to see some photos with Scott and Sam.

((hugs)) to all. Hope you all kick off November with a roaring start today!

Linda, you will get the right job at the right time! I truly believe that! We are not lucky or unlucky. Everything is on His time schedule! The hard part is waiting on Him! Hang in there!
So glad your daughter passed the exam with flying colors!

Actually, I have some sort of hangover this morning, but not from Halloween candy. I rarely ever eat candy anymore. But, DH wanted something sweet. There was a bit of ice cream left over from the apple pie I cooked this weekend, so I fixed some sugar free brownies for him. Well, I couldn't resist! So I think the chocolate AND ice cream are working on me this morning! Dummy me! I knew better! Chocolate gives me a headache and I'm lactose intolerant! So I deserve how I feel today! BLECH!!!

November 1st! WOW! Has this year flown by! Whoever said, "The older you get the faster the time flies" sure knew what they were talking about!

The sun is shining today and looks so pretty after a dreary, rainy Monday! Rainy days and Mondays always get me down! Someone needs to write a song about that! ;)

I need to get some laundry done today. I swept the floors yesterday and finished up CT stuff and did a few more pages using the photos from our trip to Alabama and the ones I took down in our woods last week. The rain probably washed a lot of the tree leaves down, I'm sure, so I'm glad I got them at their peak last week!

Off to see the laundry wizard, the wonderful wizard of suds!
Have a great day!

Getting colder now. Mid 40's today and then mid 30's by the end of the week. Next week is low 20's. Winter comes quick here. We should see a bit of snow soon. Last night we only got about 30 kid. A few times the pups got out the door and wanted to go along with the kids LOL. They were mostly well behaved, not barking too much and since there were no fireworks, Taz was calm. We had enough choc bars for 150+ (a few bars each). By the last few, we gave them a handful each. They sure were happy. I ate a few choc bars but didn't overdo it. Today I'm out to run errands, return/exchange xmas lights (I got the wrong ones yesterday). We started watching "Them" on amazon last night. We saw the first 3 episodes and am hooked. We have 7 more to watch throughout the week.

I made turkey pumpkin chili yesterday and like it. I'm having it for dinner tonight with extra veggies and a bun.

Remi is hyper this morning so I am going to get dressed and go run my errands, taking her with me. We'll go to the dog park too.

I'll come back later.

Good afternoon. I'm going to be short ecause I'm at Adrienne's and there's so much light pouring in this house that I can barely see my screen. LOL Of course I didn't bring my charger so it's lighter (my screen) than normal. UGH - I'll try to check back in later when I get home.
