Flipping the calendar to November is horrible! :ranger: Caitlyn is full on getting ready for Christmas and is calling today December -30th. hahaha!
She likes Christmas as much as, if not more than Halloween and November is just a cold and bleak month for us summer girls. Not as bad as January and February, but still yucky.

For me, I cannot get over that it is November, this year is flying by at warp speed.:brick:
I am kinda freaked out! My dad's birthday is next week, the following week is his fire department dinner, then two weeks after that is Thanksgiving, the week after that is the Faery-Wings Open House. It is going to be an interesting ride. *wink*

Gary's set up was just incredible last night. It kills me that we don't get tons of trick or treaters on our street but he gets a good audience on FB. Cait got home from class early and asked if we could get pumpkins. No one else wanted to go but we went over to the garden center where Scott works and got 2 very nice pumpkins. They recognized Caitlyn (or me, who knows?) as being family to Scott so we got his discount too. Got home, put on some Halloween Pandora station and had a blast. We were so happy to do it too.

She was cracking me up too, she had on one of her witchy dresses on, a witch hat, and her rats on her shoulders as her familiars when she answered the door. At dinner time, we walked down to my friend's house. She had so much leftover that I asked if she was going to be throwing the food out, can I get a bit before she does? So we trick or treated our way down the street at our neighbors' houses, got some food and headed back home.
Only us, right?? LOL

Today my mom is coming up to see if I can find something to wear for the dinner. We have a new TJ MAXX in town so we will stop by there first. I hate clothes shopping. I really do. And the lighting, what is *up* with that? Store lighting is horrendous.

Anyway, that is it for me. Prepare yourselves for lots of complaining about cold weather ahead

Love and hugs and all good things to you!

Nancy- how did Luther do with training? I would love to hear any tips that she gives you, esp. with recall off leash. We can't seem to get it into J's block of a head that she needs to come when called. The weather was so bizarre on Sunday, and you had the storms too... freaky!
The tea was so much fun, I have to stalk my friends on FB to grab their pictures.

Rae- What the heck? That is a crazy amount of trick or treaters. I could never afford to buy enough candy for that. I think that is one of the reasons people are switching to either trick or treating at malls or a Trunk or Treat.
Are you feeling any better yet? How is the hubs?

Trudy- My ILs have the same problem with their neighbors and the leaves. FIL is a bit OCD (wonder where Gary gets it from?? heh!!!) and cleans his lawn again and again and still the leaves from next down get blown into his yard.
Whoa, mamma!! That dress is stunning, you will look amazing in it!!!
I am so sad for you and your family. What terrible news about everyone's health. Cancer sucks :(

Jean- I haven't seen any sports headlines yet, hope your Indians won. I feel ya about the ballots. It is such a mess this year. And we have to pay for the postage too, and I hope we only need one stamp, b/c that is all we put on it. Yikes.

good morning - Luther seemed to do well at training - it is only him and another dog so it is almost like one on one training. We are not allowed (the trainer is asking us not) to say come, stay, heel, sit until she has him retrained to understand what she wants those words to mean. I cannot tell how hard that is He was not too tired as we went on a long walk when we got back and he was so curious about all the people and the costumes. We had maybe 10 kids come to the house. Perhaps the dog barking scared them off. So we have candy left over but at least it is candy we like. Not much else going on but did get some scrapping done. Today is much of the same - pay bills and do errands.

Chris loved the photo of you with the band. You rock! Sorry you do not get more to see the band! Sounds like a busy month for you coming up! I am sure you will do well! My son said they are doing Thanksgiving so that is sweet!

Trudy wow you were busy. Love the dress. How nice to be pampered!

Rae 150-200 trick or treaters - I don't think I have ever seen that many even in the years when we had young kids. Cant imagine getting that much candy! Though I did find out that there is a street in Cranford where all the kids go and no cars so maybe that is why I have not kids. How does Taz do with the people at the door!

Jean wishing you and the Indians well tonight.

Have a great day all!

It's going to be a nice day, super warm for Nov. 1, and great for game 6 of the World Series. Now it the Indians will just win it!!! Have to leave for a gen. group board mtg soon and figure out .a simple dinner for tonight so we can stay in to watch the game. Our normal places are jammed with people so it's easier at home. Cavs play next door so have moved their game up to 6:00 with baseball at 8:00.

Chris, sorry Nov. is a bummer. At least starting with a couple of OK weather days. Wish I could have seen Cait at the door like that last night. Good luck with all your busy days.

Nancy, sounds like Luther is doing fine. Hope his school works well.

Hoping for a great new month for us alll.

Good morning, ladies. It didn't rain but it was wet, cold and windy. We had 3 hrs of doorbell ringing and door pounding, but less kids than usual. I think we had about 125. We have lots of chocolate bars and cheezies left so will have lots of snacking over the coming weeks. Taz came to the door with me for the first 10 times or so but then he got fed up and just stayed downstairs under the desk in my office. When the fireworks/firecrackers started up around 9:00 he hid behind my hubs' chair and stayed there until bedtime. He refused to go outside to pee before bed so of course he had me up at 4:30 to go out. He'll be tired and will sleep all morning until we go out with Ava. I'm still halfway feeling better, not great but not as bad as the wkend. Poor Darrell got sick early in the evening and spent the night reclining in his lazyboy chair with a blanket wrapped around him. He went to work today but not sure if he'll get thru the day. So, we're still the House of Sickness here...ugh.

Chris - glad the weather held out and sounds like a fun night, good score on the pumpkin discount and a free dinner...yay.

Nancy - can't wait to hear how Luther's training goes. I understand how hard it must be to not use commands you are used to giving. Ava's word is "drop" and Taz's was "release" which was confusing for both dogs so I switched to "drop" for both dogs and it was so hard at first but I figured it was easier to retrain myself and my dog than have Ava's owner do it.

Jean - enjoy the warm day (nothing but wind, rain and cold here) and the game later.

Everyone else, hope you had a great night. I'm still swamped with work so I'm getting off the computer to get my day started. Have a great day, everyone.

Morning O-zies... wow it is hard to believe that it is November already!! I really have to get busy and get my calendars done!! Still working on the second page, so a long way to go! I am such a procrastinator and seem to find so many other things to do instead of sitting down and getting this done! Off to the pool today and tomorrow hopefully it will be nice enough to go on my hike. I have to go get my flu shot at DH's office before I head out on my hike also. It will be good to see the ladies at his work and catch up for a bit with them! Oh and we had 58 trick or treaters last night, 2 less than last year and lights were out and doors locked at 8:30pm. Someone let off some very nice fire works across the lake from us, so we got to see that too. A nice night with no rain very unusual for here.

Chris - I hope that you find something nice to wear for the dinner! Aren't you also supposed to be getting your hair done too? Or did you do that already? I bet Gary got lots of good comments on his band and all the hard work that he did! How fun that you and Cait went out trick or treating together! Hope that the weather does not get too cold for you, but if the rest of the year flies by the way the past couple of months have, then it will be spring before you know it!!

Nancy - Pretty nice that Luther is getting such good one on one training! I bet he is doing very well and how cute that he is so curious about all the kids all dressed up! It must be very hard to not say those commands to him after doing it for so long!! Hope you get all your errands done and you get to enjoy some scrapping time today!

Rae - Hope you did not get too many trick or treaters! But then if you bought for 200 then you would have lots of leftover candy and that is not a good thing, or is it? Did the rain quit over in your area for the trick or treaters? I hope that you are finally feeling much better!!

Jean - I hope that you enjoy your ball game today! I am sure that the Indians will will it for you, although DH is cheering for the other team. Enjoy your meeting today and hope that you find a nice meal to have while you enjoy the ballgame, yes the best seats are the ones right in front of your own TV!

Ok I best get my swimming gear ready to go and then a Skype with DD and Mason to see how his halloween night went. Have a great day ladies and stay out of all that left over candy :becky:

Hi Rae... we cross posted again!! Glad to hear that you are on the mend, but your poor DH! It is no fun for the animals on Halloween!! I was wondering about all the pets when I was watching the fireworks last night, poor things cowering somewhere scared to death!! Hope you get to have a rest today and that your hubby makes it through his work day!
