"Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day!"

See what happens when we have nice weather? Longer days? I am a freaking totally different person. Not that I am happy and energetic all of the time but dang-- much more than the Cranky Faery of the Winter.

I did so much yesterday and I am tired today, but not ready to drop tired. I steam cleaned the entire downstairs. My house isn't big but it still took a few hours. And ugh-- they were disgusting. You know how I used to take bets on how long it would take for a cat to throw up on my freshly steamed carpets? Now that we only have Floyd and he lives upstairs, I thought that I was past that. I wasn't even done yesterday when J threw up. At least all I had to do was clean it up and then re-steam that section.

The weather was so beautiful that I went outside and cleared some leaves and acorns along the side of my yard. I have some plants at the edge between the "lawn" (AKA weeds and moss) and the trees. I uncovered a few yards of that- so many acorns that have to be picked out by hand. But it was nice to get out in the fresh air. I am listening to the audiobook, Hollow City, the second book in the Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children series. Nice to have something YA/out of the ordinary to listen to.

I have to go food shopping today and I have like-- 3 dinner ideas. Pfft. Not much planned beyond that.
Hoping that your day is happy and sunny too!

Nancy- it stayed cool up here too. I was able to be outside in just a t-shirt but when the sun went in, I was chilly.
The ranch beans sound interesting and hearty.
That is crazy about how bad the officiating is and it seems like the players are taking advantage of that. It is probably too much to expect things to settle down as the series moves on.

Trudy- Congrats to the kids on the swim meet! I think it was a good idea to walk the dogs with DIL instead of watching the Bruins lose.
What is Slamwich, a card game? When do they move? I would be devastated as well. :(

Rae- OMG- this hospital seems to be making things so much harder for B. I am sad and angry for you all.
As always-- fingers and toes crossed/good thought to you and B.

Felis- it is always something, right? At least your dad was able to get the new water heater even if it cost full price. That always is the case. Bah humbug.
I hope that you get to see your roommate and her son too. 6 is a great age, so is 7. Christopher is fun to talk to and be around. He set up "game stations" around the house for us to participate in with signs and age ranges. Cait was the only one able to play at one station since the age cut-off was 20 and she is still 19 LOL
I am going to have to take some pics of the tart warmer to show you. It is really beautiful and meaningful to me.

Better get going to I can go to the grocery store. (blergh!!!)

good morning - it is gorgeous outside! Bright blue skies and it will get into the 70s. Yea! But I have several errands to do. First I get my hair done and then I have to get to the vet for Luther just monthly heart guard and tick and flea stuff and then bank so I can pay the property taxes and then to dog treat store. Whew! But at least I will look good. The hockey was great last night. The Washington Capitals finally defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins and it was a defensive battle that went to OT and Alex Ovechkin set up the game winning, series winning goal. It was impressive! He was interviewed at the end and said he was telling Kuznetsov score please just F**king score. I think that is too cool. Then the Predators defeated the Jets so I get a game 7. But what am I going to do without hockey for the next 2 days LOL. At least I will have hockey on during the day as the Worlds are on going. My Devil goalie got another shutout and now team USA is undefeated with 3 wins. Pretty cool! I just hope when they face the better teams they can keep it going. It was nice to see some of the USA's most talented players actually come to the tournament. A lot of times they don't. Made my own Chinese take out for dinner orange beef with bok choy and scallion rice. Amazing how simple it was and just how good. Tonight I am making pork tacos.

Chris it does make a difference when the sun is shining and you don't have to wear a coat Yea! Congrats on steam cleaning and sorry that J barfed on the carpet! Good luck at the store!

Trudy going for a walk during the game was probably the best idea. They have such good young talent that Boston will be better next year! Congrats to your swimmers. I am glad that each got their own blue ribbon. I love sports that are not dependents on judges you win by just having the fastest time. It is sad that you will not be close to the kids after this summer. I bet talking about Paris makes it so much more real.

Rae every time you write about the hospital and its lack of commitment to it patients is makes me so sad. Those staff should be fired. It is so unacceptable. I hope Jen can put some fire under their skin and get some satisfaction on Bailey's care. I am glad that your desserts are making her happy!

Felis how nice to have a dad that can fix anything. It is always the case that when something breaks their are no sales. But at least you have hot water and to me that is pretty important!

Jean waving!

Have a great day all!

Good Morning everyone! It is a gorgeous day here today also, a thick fog this morning when I first got out of bed, but it has lifted now and it is sunny and blue skies! So nice to hear the birds singing, which reminds me that I have to fill the hummingbird feeder again this morning. Yesterday totally got away from me and I never did get back here to catch up with everyone. Heather and I talked for over an hour and then I had a Norwex order to get done. I had to go downtown to pick up a few things for supper and mail out a little parcel to one of my customers. Back home and had a bite to eat, then on the phone with Telus. Our main PVR has been acting up ever since we had a power outage a while back. So they walked me through a complete re-boot and now everything is perfect again! Whew, I got my workout going up and down the stairs to re-boot all the equipment LOL. Oh I almost forgot that when we arrived home on Sunday night, DH called me to see something on his computer, a happy surprise, we won $1000.00 on the 649 lottery!! :bliss: now we can pay back what we owed in income tax this year :becky: Easy come, easy go LOL. They say everything happens in threes, so keep your fingers crossed that the next win is even bigger!! Ya right!

Chris - It is true, you are a much happier person when the weather is cooperating with you

I hope that the sun and warm temps continue for a long time! Ha, Ha the description of your back lawn is much the same as mine, more moss, weeds and acorns than anything else. I feel your pain for picking up all those acorns!! Having three meal ideas is better than I do! I usually don't know what I am cooking until later in the morning. However I only have DH and myself to feed and he will eat whatever is put in front of him LOL. Slamwich is a card game. Fast and fun to play, but darn those kids are too quick for me and I usually lose LOL. http://engagedfamilygaming.com/board-games/board-game-review-slamwich/ Sadly Jason and family will be moving at the end of July shortly after our return from Paris. I am sad that they will be so far away, but happy that they will at least be closer to Heather and family and they will get to spend more time together.

Nancy - You have a busy day today! How nice to start it off by getting your hair done! Lucky Luther getting treats after his visit to the Vet! Hopefully those pesky fleas and ticks are not present on him! Your meal last night sounds so very yummy! Tonights does also, you are becoming quite the accomplished cook! Sounds like you had a great night of hockey too, DH and I both commented on the Pens loss last night saying "I bet Nancy is happy about this one!" Yes game seven for the Jets, we will cheer for them as they are the final Canadian hockey team left. I agree with you that it is nice that kids are not in a sport where they are judged and just win by having the best time. Sadie is very into the group sport thing and loves cheering on her whole team, Isaac not so much, he just really likes to swim! We are hoping you are right about the Bruins young players and that next year will prove to be an even better one for the Bruins! Have fun watching the Worlds hockey on TV!

Rae - I could just scream for you :gaah: what is the matter with the staff at this hospital?? Are we so short of nurses etc that all they can hire are a bunch of incompetent idiots?? I hope Jen goes up one side of them and down the other!! Praying that this gets "B" moved out of that hell hole very quickly! It is so nice that she can at least calm down when you are there and she is enjoying your baking etc. Maybe its time to go to the media and let them know what an incompetent bunch are taking care of patients at this hospital!

Felis - Your father sounds like mine was, he would be able to fix anything in the house and he loved to do it! I miss him very much! It sounds like other than the water heater problems, you had a nice relaxing day with your family! That is so nice! Isaac was not upset or embarrassed for being disqualified for his one swim event, he knew that he had been as soon as he did his turn to finish his lap, it was no big deal as it was happening to many of the swimmers, they are just new at all this competition stuff, so it is more fun than serious competition. I never swam in competition, but I do love to swim. My parents had 7 children and so really could not afford to put us into any kind of organized sport, but we didn't mind we all had wonderful childhoods and our parents were very loving!

Jean - I hope you are enjoying some beautiful weather also! Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping that things are going ok after losing your family member!

Ok I am starting a page this morning come hell or high water LOL! Then off to swim my laps a bit later. Have a great day ladies!

Beautiful day here as well. I'm enjoying looking out the window at the lush blossoms on the crabapple tree. Not much scheduled here today so maybe we can get out. It's election day but we voted by mail, so just have to wonder as to the results. Maybe all the election phone calls will end (we don't answer but some leave messages so we know that's what they are) for a while. We're still a bit in limbo about the cousin but some things have been straightened out and soon someone will be able to access her papers and determine if there's a will and any pre-arrangements. We doubt either, but it's possible. In our thoughts one way or another often during the day.

Rae, that hospital makes us all see red for you and B! How they can get by with such incompetence is astounding. Glad you got to get out with the birds and have a healthy pattern for your mornings.

Felis, hurray for Dad fixing things! Shame about no sales, but it had to be done. Glad you got a good day with family.

Chris, it's delightful seeing your improved state of mind. Even the steam cleaning mishap didn't upset you too much. And yes, three dinner ideas sounds like a lot to me too. Hope it was another lovely day.

Nancy, if you need something to watch without hockey, you might try the streaking Yankees. I'm thinking bad thoughts about them after they swept the Indians over the weekend. Today sounds nice though busy and the dinners so yummy.

Trudy, how nice you can talk with H like that even though she's far away. Wow, you'll be in Paris so soon now, everyone must be excited.

Is it only me who have this paranoid feelings that when the life is just perfect, something bad is coming? What is wrong with me?! Yesterday (Tuesday) was one of these perfect surrealistic moments when you feel comfort in this one concrete moment, separated from all other things happened newly or far. The perfect moment.
It's strange how three days of rain can to convert my pretty yard in little jungle. So I just left Biggie to run around me till I mowed the grass. He wasn't set free in this part of the yard from few days. So till he inspected around, the see of grass was moving around him and he was like one little fluffy whale. So pretty! Breath catching moment.
For a while I allowed myself just to enjoy and to forget everything else. But then of course it's comes despondency and fears.

This morning I'm trying to shake them off and browsing through your post its seems very possible.

Chris, it's so strange to see you so excited about the weather. And I'm happy for you! I still don't get it how to be sweat from this awful hotness can be better than the hug of three good sweaters, but I'll accept it on trust. :) Yep, cat and the carpets are bad idea. If not other they will edge their nails on them. I have heard about this book series, aren't the photos in it important part from the story?! We don't have good audio books here. Or at least I don't know about them. If you don't mind to share the pics I'll really love to see this tart warmer!

Nancy, sounds like busy days for you. I hope you had all done! Of course, It's always help to looks good till doing ordinary things ;) .

Trudy, hooray for the lottery! Of course we will keep fingers crossed for even bigger win next time! The lottery is very popular in my country too. I just adore how you often uses different smileys than the usual! I'm never play sports because my eye problems makes me awkward and I was freed from any sport activities at school. But beyond that I'm very competitive person, literature lessons ~ first place, children's theater ~ the main role :) . I don't get it the Olympic principle?! When you are not good in something just quit it and find another to do, instead to lose your time in try to improve. So I'm not sure what you and Nancy had meant about the kids and the wins. But I'm happy that the kids have this passion. And as a bonus swimming makes a great body shapes. Oh, my dad also are 7 children. Are you still close? I'm afraid that he is not with his, because they are scattered throughout the country now.

Jean, I think I can understand exactly what you feels now. I don't believe that time will make it heal, but at least we learn how to live with all this pain, so stay strong, dear!

It's looks like a pretty sunny day is start out so I better to go! Hugs and Kisses to you all!

Rae, I think we all are curious about what has happened with the hospital admin, (me with sure), so I hope you'll can come with some news soon!
