hahaaa! Chris, i can always tell when the cat is influencing your typing....

rainy, rainy day here. too bad, because i'm going for a haircut, and as soon as i step outside, my fabulous blowdried hair will flop into the poker-straight mess my hair usually is. oh, well. at least my bangs won't be in my eyes. after the haircut, think i'll go to the Mall and have a walk and some lunch with my iPad in the food court. i have a carpet guy coming today to measure my stairs. i'm struggling with this idea: the carpet in my living room and on these stairs and the upstairs hall is a VERY light beige, which makes for a lot of yelling about taking your shoes off. (even then, my husband has managed to make the carpet on the stairs look dirty with his black SOCKS!) so, i was going to put a darker, patterened (but matching the color palette in the LR) carpet on the stairs. the living room and the stairs are separated by a section of tile. do you think this would look weird? i have absolutely NO taste. the guy at the carpet store says NO, it wouldn't look weird, but, of course, he wants me to buy some carpet! i would just replace this carpet with the same as is there, but, as is the case with SO much i buy, they've STOPPED MAKING IT!! so. what do you think?

I think that colro and patterns would be phenomenal! My BFF has amazing color in her house and it makes me so jealous that she can pull it off so well. I am a bland beige person myself which is unfortunate with having kids and pets.

ahh! Guess who is back? And guess who is trying to block her fromthe keyboard with ehr head??
 
Morning peeps!

I had forgotten how long I sleep when my bed buddy wakes my up going to the bathroom during the night! I wake up and usually realize I might as well go then too and then I end up sleeping much longer than I would if I had not been awakened. At least I don't have to go to work. Even when I did work, I was 1 mile from my office for over 20 years, so sometimes the drive took longer than walking which was 15 min. LOL I never had to leave the house til after 8:30. Ok...that was a tangent.

Chris, sometimes I miss our old departed cat but he never had any interest in computers. I also suspect that the small wireless keyboard would have hurt his old bones.

Phylis, how about a patterned runner type carpet on your stairs if the wood is finished? I'm thinking a faux oriental design?

btw Phylis, while we do convert credit card points to frequent flyer miles, the travel benefit comes from my dh's consultant work after his regular retirement. That's all 'gravy' $$ and as long as the contracts continue, and we aren't decrepit, we'll travel. As you have heard me say, I'm just as happy at home, but he wants to see places he didn't get to go when his first wife wasn't interested. He really has fallen in love with Italy and renting an apartment really works for us. A kitchen and wifi and we're set!
 
morning all - storms last night, so I didn't make it back. I did have a marvelous monday at work (not many patients which made an easier transition back into work) Today I am aiming for a terrific tuesday! I may be able to/ have to mow lawn after work. We had lots of rain last night- I see the field ditch looks more like a creek this morning. I did make my lunch time walk- the family I see after lunch saw me leave and I spied them on my way in. The grandma said- looks like you were wasting a lot of energy- I told her no- I learned on vacation I need to get outside during the day. So today, it is on my list again. Plus- day 2 of new morning schedule and yup I am up to 4 miles total for the week. Does anyone watch SMASH- I walked to that this morning. Also who do you think will win the Voice tonight?

Tip for Tuesday- your attitude is your altitude and it's corollary - fake it til you make it!
 
Third time is a charm I hope?? I just blew off a ton of cat hair from my keybd, its tumble weeds from her!

This "cutting back on coffee" really sucks and it is only Day 3. :hurt:
I am trying to limit myself to 2 mugs (4 "cups") a day. I even made tea yesterday afternoon when I would usually have a coffee fix. Blergy blarg bluugggh!

Short day at work for me today, hopefully only a 2 hour gig. Although the way I am moving ATM, it might be closer to 3 LOL Laurie- it is a "fake it" day here too.
The weather has been miserable, cloudy, drizzly, cool, damp for the past week. Enough already, I need to see some sun.

Four miles!! You rock!!!!! I don't watch Smash, but my MIL loves it.

We finished watching Disc 1 of Ken Burn's documentary on Prohibition. Very interesting stuff and even more so on some of the propaganda used to pass the legislation.

Maureen- I would love to be able to travel like that some day, so awesome that you can do that now.

Tip on Tuesday? Don't threaten to kill your DH and children over the internet even if you really wish you could on occasion b/c you never know who will be reading it.

Oh my goodness! I made no sense in *any* of the above posts. And I can't even blame my cat for that last one. How sad.

Maureen- hope all of your packing went smoothly, and that the weather does exactly what you need it to do,

Kristy- is this girl at least helping to pay gas money? I hope so! But that is a drain on your time and money. I have a hard time bringing stuff like that up, but you should try to say something to either her or her mom.Good luck!

Trudy- I bet your yard looks fab and that sounds like the perfect end to a day, sitting outside with a glass of wine admiring your work. Feel better and enjoy your day off today.

Hi Phyllis! hehe! I have a hard enough time seeing the dates on coupons as it is, I can't imagine trying to do my shopping all blurry from eye drops.

Eva- sooooo, do you take after your dad?? :D He sounds like an amazing man.
Fingers crossed that the house sells quickly and they get the $$ they want and need from it. Good luck with the clean-out. Enjoy browsing through the memories!

Better get going, my laundry is ready to be put in the dryer and the dishwasher needs to be turned on. Garbage is already at the curb and the litter boxes are all scooped. Not too bad for 8 am
(and only 2 cups of coffeeeeee............)
 
One of my on-line friends actually had problem with something like that. She said something you know we all say about our kids at times - and it was used against her in a custody battle. It's so easy to mis-use the internet!

Any way - after a rather busy Monday, I'm back to my lazy life style again. But tomorrow, me and my sis is going up to mom & dad's again to help with the decluttering. Plans for today: knit, TV and nothing else.
 
yeah shes paying me gas money :) that isn't the problem its just time consuming driving back and forth since its like 15-20mins from where we live LOL...but whatever im dealing...i mean i think i was just having a bad couple of days...if it were me i know they would do whatever they could to help me out....drive me around if i needed it etc....still not cancelling my plans on friday though!! she said she could have someone else bring her home though...if they didnt release her til then....

but anyways im a grump today i got NO SLEEP....seriously by 4am i just got up out of bed cause i was just not sleeping!! it was so frustrating!! i was worried about the pool....wondering if it was gonna collapse on its self cause it was kinda bowing in...but then when i got up at 4am i looked up this issue an i kept reading that as it fills all the way it should correct itself...so we'll see i turned the water and and we'll see what it does i'd hate to have to drain it to fix it cause yeah....thats a LOT of water LMAO
