Happy Cinco de Mayo.
Today's stress buster is humor:

I hope that chuckling a bit loosened up the lungs and diaphragm.

Happy Tuesday too. How was everyone's Monday? Mine was busy, yet boring. I got a bunch of things done, my nephew's b-day card is in the mail- he turns 20 today. I finished page 19 out of 20 for Christopher- one more to go and then I get to fight with the Shutterfly website LOL
I never did make it outside. I worked on all of that in the morning, grabbed lunch, and then went to get myself ready. The weather had turned and not in a good way. The temps dropped a lot and it was so windy. The weekend was a tease. It looks like it is going to be similar today. Maybe I will bundle up and take the dogs for a walk instead. I had another dream about it snowing last night too. I need summer!!

Today. What am I going to do today? I don't know. I didn't sleep well again last night. The crazy dreams kept coming and I would wake up and have an anxiety attack. Told Gary this morning it was a good thing he slept on the sofa. That way I couldn't blame him for keeping me awake, it is all on me. I am pretty darn tired.

I am making turkey tacos/tofu tacos for dinner tonight but that was mostly because the taco kits were on sale last week. I am a grouch about Cinco de Mayo the same as I am for any "manufactured" holiday. But the kids love tacos so that is what I will do.

As much as I am exhausted, I am going to have to keep myself busy today. The closer that my kids get to finishing the semester, the sadder I seem to be getting about it. I should be planning a graduation party. *stomps foot* Going to ones for Leah and for my goddaughter Julia. *stomps foot again for emphasis*
It is one of those situations that I have emotions. Lots of 'em. And I don't know quite what to *do* with them. Easier to bury them than deal- that is my M.O. At least I recognize it as such, baby steps in mental health. ha!!!

Anyway, let me shout out some gratitudes:
- it is sunny
- I had two dogs to snuggle with last night
- the Parks and Rec special (finally had time to watch last night) was fun to see and wow, I miss Leslie Knope!

xoxo

Sorry that this will be quick, I have been sitting at my computer too long already and haven't gotten a darn thing done.

Trudy- that sounds so nice how you were able to visit with SIL and ILs. Were you able to get all of the housework done?
Hop that you were able to chat with all of the kids!

Nancy- hope you and Luther were able to get out for a walk in the morning if it got cold by you too. Congrats (I think?! LOL) on the Harley purchase for DS> Tell him to be careful. Gary and I were joking that we love the idea of being able to ride again someday but not the reality of it.
I bet you had a great time looking at your old photos as you moved them.

Felis- it feels like that here too. Yum! How nice that your mom cooked for everyone. What did she make?

kay- any chance you can send me some of your scrap mojo? No one knows where the lost photos could be?
Yay for figuring out why you were sideways! LOL

Love to everyone!

good morning - been busy already as my son had to take his car to be serviced and we had a miscommunication as to the fact that it was drop off only and we had to go pick him up. Luckily his brother will take him back. Last night watched a show called Songland and in it Martina McBride selected a new song and it was so fun to watch. And I like the song a lot. Had good walks with Luther. Not much else. WOW just watched the NYC mayor's press conference and wow I have never seen a politician tear into Trump as he did.

Chris I had a total vegetarian dinner last night and it was delish and the amazing thing was my DH also thought it was delish. It was a pasta (chickpea pasta) and it was just like regular pasta in how it cooked and stayed together when boiled. Tonight I am having sweet potato quesadillas for Cinco de Mayo. Your tacos will be fun. It got so windy in the afternoon that I can see why you did not go out. It is sunny here and but windy. I will be waiting until a bit later for it to warm a bit. Have fun on your walk.

Grateful for the sun
Grateful for my sons

waving to all

Hi ladies... I am very late getting here today! Slept in until 8am :bliss: then of course my morning face time and game play with Mason. Sadly I don't get to see Hunter much these days, as Mason does not want to share his grandma LOL. He is fine with it and keeps busy playing on his own or with his Mommy. I only get to talk to Heather for a couple of minutes also, but she seems to be fine and is doing well! I got a new painting commission to do today. The Neighbour across the street has a brother that saw the Raccoon that I painted for her and he wants me to paint a Raven on a very beautiful slab of wood. I hope it turns out well as this slab of wood is really gorgeous! He dropped it at my doorstep and now I will see what I can find for inspiration for the painting.

Chris - Thanks for the chuckle this morning! Yup more twilight zone stuff LOL. Glad you got a lot done yesterday, me too. I got all my cleaning done and then worked on a card for a bit. I need to get Mason's birthday card made soon, it takes forever for the mail to get to them lately, so the sooner I get that done the better! Hope that you have a fun Cinco de Mayo. Your tacos sound yummy!! (well not the tofu ones lol). Hope the temps warm up and the wind stops blowing too!

Nancy - Yay for the NYC mayor for being so honest about his feelings for DT! Hope he doesn't get into any trouble from the big cry baby!! LOL Happy that you have had such nice walks with Luther and hopefully everyone behaves and sticks with the social distancing! Hooray for your sons helping each other out! Hope that you and Luther can get out later today when it is warmer and that it is not windy!!

Ok I haven't gotten anything done this morning, off I go to get busy with the rest of my day, which will include a walk in the sun this afternoon!!

Gratitudes:
The sun is shining and the next 3 days will be gorgeous!
Talking with my grands
I don't have to grocery shop for a long time!!

I've just read all the forums for yesterday and today wondering how I missed being here. Monday morning Hum&Strum had its first Zoom session then we went to the grocery again. I wore my new mask but DH did a bandanna again to be gentle to his face where he had a cyst removed Friday. Later I made two more masks with some fabrics I used for things I really liked.

Today I set the crock pot up with a pot roast again and in the afternoon we had a Zoom session for the board meeting of our computer genealogy group. We are going to do a Zoom session for our general meeting later this month with an Information Exchange (members get to talk about how they're coping and doing genealogy). Since attendance is pretty small these days it should work well. Our scheduled speaker for June is good with virtual so we're going to see how she wants to do that. It's a real relief to have this group showing signs of life again. It doesn't seem like I got much done, but I'm feeling more lively since it turned to May.

Chris, how pleasant your weekend must have been, about as normal as circumstances permit and fun. Your card to Gary sounds like a lovely idea whether you liked the looks of it or not and that's what mattered. Nice you were doing tacos though doing two versions always seems to be a lot of work. Thanks for a bit of humor!

Nancy, communication is never your family's forte apparently, but always works out somehow. Today we saw a chipping sparrow in the yard, a visitor that is so common in summer around here, but only in our yard about every five years for a day. Hope you are getting to see more walking Luther.

Trudy, also a nice weekend with the old folks for you. I knew it would be special for the ILs. Hope Hunter is too little to mind so much not getting his time with grandma with Mason home. Hope your sun came out.

Kay, glad you aren't going to be sideways anymore. But whatever the orientation it's nice having family chats.

Felis, also hoping your weather improved, but lazy days and having Mom cook sounds good to me. Hugs the kitties for me.

Grateful
for Zoom

Good morning girls!
So weird! The nature act like have PMS, as mother Nature wake up and decide what today's weather to be based of her mood. I was wearing coat the day before, and back to t-shirt yesterday. It was one of these lovely days perfect for outdoor activities and we all spend our afternoon in gardening. Usually some of us use it as an excuse to escape by others, and calm his mind on peaceful. But yesterday we was all together on same on the same stretch, working and laughing! I felt really blessed! Everybody are in good mood, because tomorrow (already today for me) is holiday.
St. George's Day, this guy that kill the dragon, in try to convince others to become christian. It's not sounds as a very kind guy to me: "You'll have to join to me or I'll let this creature to eat you!" Isn't it's strange how many violence have in this religion?!

:bump:A little bit myths, skip if you aren't interested!
It's not exactly the dragon, this is the english word that coming from knights stories and Albion, but in our lends have 3 types of creatures that can be count as dragons. Ламята female creature, a giant reptile with sharp nails and teeth, and one or more canine heads on serpentine necks. Ха̀ла a serpent-like creatures that can change their shapes, and they are personifications of some natural elements (storm, fog, whirlwind, hail). And the most charming Змей giant dragon who can transform in handsome young man and to lure or abduct women. Most are evil and need new lovers every year. But if you send girl so innocent and beautiful that to make him fall in love, he will protect her village from other enemies and natural disasters.
So it's supposed that St. George is kill one of the first type. Honestly I think, but this is only my opinion, that this story is much more older. I mean in christian times people aren't believed in dragons anymore, or I'm mistaken? When our king decided to become christian in 9th century, he forced everybody in his kingdom to do the same. But people are been scared to not anger the older gods, so they put lots of old legends and rituals behind the christian saints. To can continue to celebrate as their ancestors. I don't know, do you have such a holiday? I'm not much religious, but this is how I see the things, if you are christian you shouldn't have any doubts in the holy texts, so that means you should believe that dragons are existed! I often suspect they are found dinosaurs skeleton and decide all these stories. Who knows!
I'm not sure do you able to watch Russian movies, but "I Am Dragon" is story I adore! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4057376/ on You Tube it is post as ''He is dragon (English Version) HD'' but again I don't know is it allowed for all the countries as copyrights are different on different laws.

However as the most of our holidays, this one also is lose his rituals, and now it is just a reason for festive diner and not working day.

Kay, Nora Roberts is a very good proposal, thank you! I'm read only one her book, but definitely can look for more. The only thing is that she is too modern for me, I need pure victorian love right now.

Chris, I don't sleep well too. I think it's the moon that calling me, I was up whole night, but scrape a page that I really like from that! I'm happy to hear that you are in scraping mood too! Hope that you have a fun Cinco de Mayo! OK, I can't past your question what mom cooked, as I know you really care, not asking just from kindness, so let see did I'll can to figure out the english names. Who knows maybe you can like some ideas too :).
These small yeast dough and cheese things we call Milinki, looks like they don't have english name. Baklava it's a turkish and I think this is the official name. And potato schnitzel.

Nancy, I know you said this for Songland just to makes me jealous :pound:! Hope your weather is good for walks!

Trudy, hahaha Mason is such a cutie! I love the sold project you was post on IG, this one with many parts in purple and black. Can't wait to see the ravens!

Jean, did the Hum&Strum session went well? What they are playing now? I actually saw lots of men wearing bandanna, I think this makes them feels more rockers style. Hope this cyst wasn't something serious! I really don't get this with the virtual genealogy group attendance! It's seems more logical for me to be bigger than the physical as it's so much easier to join, instead to travel for the meeting and lose adional time.
I'll see what I can do about the cats hugs, they are so wild right now LOL!

Gratitudes:
The sun is shining
family is in good mood
cats are extremely naughty
