The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Another cold day here in NJ- I hope my plants are ok-its 30* right now. It is May, right? I know I am date challenged, but I don't think I have ever been wrong on the month!!

I am off to the vet today with both dogs, always fun, especially when they both try to hide behind me and wrap their leashes around my legs. I have to talk to the vet about how to know when its "time" for Harley. I hate to even *think* about it, but I don't want to be selfish and keep her if she is in pain. I wish there was someway they could tell us when they are ready to go. She is 15 1/2. Four years ago (for those of you who haven't heard this story before ;) ) we were told she had a few months to love. She had lymphoma, her 4th bout of cancer. We got Ravyn, our "transition dog" and here were are- 4 years later and Harley is still with us. Just amazing! But she is having a harder time getting around and pees in the house when she gets unsettled/nervous. But at the same time, she loves being around us, loves Ravyn.....So I need a more objective opinion.

How was everyone's day yesterday? We had a mtg with the school- they want us to have a Child Study Team eval Scott. They feel if they can get him classified for Spec. Ed. as "Other Health Impairment" he'll be able to get more services to help him, especially since he is (hopefully) moving up to HS next year.
If anyone has any advice or experience with this, can you let me know? PM me if that is easier. TIA!

Tip on Tuesday:

Sally recommended a book to me, "Even June Cleaver Would Forget the Juice Boxes" I am only about 1/3 of the way through it, but I am finding it to be very helpful/interesting. It talks about the Mommy Myth, that we should be able to do everything at all times, perfectly for our children. Its a MYTH! (Mythbusters should do a show on that! LOL) It is helping me to deal with the Mommy Guilt I have. I think all moms should read it.

Thanks Sally for the suggestion :)

personals :)

Linda W- oh my!!! Betty White was fantastic! It was a bit odd for me to see her doing some of the off-color jokes, I completely associate her with the Golden Girls. But 88 1/2! Wow!!!

I am so sorry about your Aunt. :(

Sally- Sounds like a very nice M-Day. My IL's and "extended IL's (both of my SIL's families) all get along great. It makes it so nice to have everyone together. Can I come visit today? It is so cold again!
How was your Coke and shopping?

Andrea- Hope that you feel better today! hugs~

Natesia- based on what you post here, I think you are going to do great on that exam! Hope things calm down for you and don't forget to take care of yourself.

Hugs and love to everyone!

morning all- cold and rainy here with a chance of Tstorms tonight - yup it is spring

Chris- prayers for you for your dog, if you don't want Scott labeled- you may also want to check into 504 plans- they can also give special help- but if he is falling behind lots- you may want to go with assessment for special education

Andrea- hope today is a better day

Sally - so full of energy you are- I feel it bursting in your posts

Natesia - best of luck on your testing- I agree with Chris you will do fine

NanaLinda- prayers for you

Good morning Ladies! No, I haven't dropped off the earth, just silly busy with work and family. Had to make cuts in the proposed fiscal budget - stress - but it's done, and the staff is still speaking to me. Got it balanced yesterday afternoon, so on to the rest of the prep for presentation to the finance team and congregation next week.

My daughter's hubby went off for a weekend with his buddy from college for a last guy's event before his buddy moves to Montana!! So daughter and her two girlies moved in with us on Friday and stayed till Sunday. The oldest of the two brought strep throat with her -- needless to say, Mommy was tired so Nana and Papa kept everybody busy.

On Saturday I taught my daughter how to make homemade bread, sundried tomato and Greek olive -- whooo boy! is it ever good! But next time I think I'll add a few more herbs to it.

Sunday afternoon, since most of hubby's family lives around here, and so does my SIL's mother, we all gathered for a cookout, everybody brought something so the cooking load is easy, and spent 5 hours talking! It was funny, her comment to me was, "your family sure knows how to cook - and eat!"

Chris, I have no personal experience with dealing with IEP's and testing, but do have some experience in dealing with inadequate teachers and program -- bet advice -- keep fighting for your son. I know it's exhausting, but keep fighting for him to get what he needs to be the best he can be!

Must get ready for work, lots of meetings today.

Linda, so sorry for your loss, sending hugs and prayers.

Natesia, your English seems to be very good indeed!

Sally, whatever energy drink you're on, I want to know what it is -- please?? Could you share? I neeeeed some!

good morning... just wanted to say a quick hello... have been extremely busy with Piper's ballet rehearsals.. last performance of the school year is this weekend... end of this month and we're done until August...

so anyway, I'm off to work... hope everyone has a great day!

Hi Sandra- even if you just post "hi" it always makes me happy to see you smiling face here!

Janet- oh thank goodness for Nana and Papa!

Laurie- Scott has a 504 Pplan already- since the end of 5th grade. It just doesn't seem to be enough. The other issue seems to be that his teachers, in general, do not seem to take it very seriously. I think an IEP will have a lot more "force" behind it, if that makes sense. Not to mention most people hear Lyme and think "joint pain" not neurological symptoms. That has been a battle for both kids for a long time. But maybe this will help.

Girlies...thank you so much for your prayers and support.

So yesterday was just a really bad day all around....you hear me mention my hormonal state from time to time...well yesterday was the WORST!!! I have a ton of stuff going on there...I have a dr appt today..thank goodness!! I am just praying it doesn't get so bad I go POSTAL on the family

Well....I have some things to do to help my Mom out, plus I am in NEED of going to the grocery store badly...so I think Savannah and I may go out in a bit!!!

Hope you all have a great day...

I will try to come back for personals..but if I don't...I love you all!!

morning ladies.

ick. I still feel really sick. It's not fair that SAHMs don't get sick days :( At least I got lots of sleep last night... in bed by 10:30 and not up til 7:30!!

I need to make myself a Daily Diary to keep track of my foods, meds, AF, moods, exercise & whatever else... I need to get all of this figured out!

I think I'll do it as a hybrid project :) off to decide what kit(s) I'll use :)

Good Morning "O" friends...It is a sunny warm morning on Vancouver Island. I am still pinching myself that I got to see the "Eagles" in concert in Vancouver on Sunday, what an awesome Mother's Day gift!!! Every single song was fantastic and they played for 3 1/2 hours  On the ferry boat ride home we reminised and laughed so hard our stomaches ached :pound: I am sure that everyone thought that we were  I am just heading out the door for a walk in the sunshine and hope that everyone has a great day today!
Nana Linda I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your Aunt hope this hug helps :

Chris didn't realize he was on 504- yes IEP will have more clout- it is a legal and binding document- if it is in there it must be followed- or you have legal recourse- hearings etc. Are you hooked up with any parent advocates that can ensure that you get it written so that you get what you need and to support you through the process?
