The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Still no sign of Spring in North NJ. I swear there were snow flurries this morning when I was out with the dogs. It was very dark, it's possible I was seeing spots because I was freezing and uncaffeinated at the time. ;) When I woke up, the wind was howling and I was kicking myself for not using the curbside service for groceries this week. I'll live. I am going to grumble and complain but I'll somehow survive. *dramatically throws arm across face in distress*

I was busy yesterday, not that you could tell by looking at my house but I got a lot of the little maintenance things done. Took me forever but I am happy that I did. I think I am ready for shopping this morning. Gotta get there before the old(er) ladies block my path. I guess it's good that I have absolutely to say, I will do quick personals and get in the shower and head out.

May your day be sunny, warm, and filled with love! (two out of three here ain't bad :)
xo

@LSlycord I saw you came home with a toad friend! I hope he has a nice cozy setup in your garden. I love hearing about your plants even if I am jealous too. I made meatloaf for Gary and Scott and garlic-parmesan potatoes last night. They said it was good- a new recipe but I won't eat beef. It smelled good so that was nice.
thanks for the nagging too

@tanteva LOL!! I hate when Real Life TM gets in the way of scrapping, so unfair. What, no pre-meeting for the pre-meeting? Pre-pre-meeting? Do they feed you at least?

@taxed4ever How awesome to visit with your brother! I hope he wasn't affected by any of the flooding in Syndey while he was there.

@Cherylndesigns The puppies must be so cute together! Ava has her own house, IIRC? I hope that she has it puppy-proofed LOL
All of my mom's diet problems are due to her heart and kidney failure. So until she gets the heart at least beating stronger nothing else is going to get better. The kidneys won't get better at all but they are trying to keep them from getting worse. My BFFs mom had a mini-stroke last month, fell again over the weekend, and was back in the ER yesterday. We were texting about how this stage of life (having elderly parents) is harder than having infants or teens. I know so many of you have gone through this-- I will take any advice you have on how to navigate through this.

hahaha!! I wonder if I put it off long enough the Cologuard people will send me some $$ too :p

@Lynn Grieveson I feel your pain, just trying to pull yourself together to make the appt/trip for tests and appts is hard enough. But have to go back again?
th

So sorry about the housing market. Is it a Winter thing? *fingers and toes crossed that you get some good bites on it ASAP*
Yesssss, Yay for dogs! I hope that your DD stays negative on the covid too

@tanteva I don't know what you use the food processor for but we got a Ninja set of them... never mind, I went to the Ninja website to show you what I meant and I guess they don't make them anymore. The motor went over the top of the container and was handheld. We like them since we don't have room or money for a big one.
The only thing I can say is to get the best one you can afford. Since we end up having to settle for the cheapest, we go through small appliances quickly. More money and waste in the long run. :(

@taxed4ever Fab to hear hope the visit went with your brother, even if you were a bit hyper afterward.
ugh, poor Heather and snow- bet the boys were happy about a snow day, however.
*cheers your Gary* Good job on taxes!!

hugs!

Good morning friends. Quick one from me this morning. Shaun has an appointment with a urologist this morning so I drove him over. Forty-five minutes in traffic has me a little crabby. Hoping this doctor can provide some answers.

@faerywings always happy to nag. Decker had a really good meeting with the adoptive family. They all sat together, both dogs and parents, on the sofa in the house and got along fine. Hoping for the weekend. Fingers crossed! I must admit, the plants are making me happy.

Didn't make it in here yesterday.... was busy all day! I had to drive cross town to pick up my tax package while DD's hubby stayed with her. She was having pain in her heel... not where the surgery was. Finally got a call back in late afternoon from the Doc's nurse. She said to unwrap the ace bandage then rewrap it not as tight. That helped a lot!! We see the doc this afternoon so he can check it out as she thinks there may be a blister or rubbed spot that needs to be checked out.

I have to go set up the shower area for her in just a few minutes. (Shower chair in the shower and a smaller one in the room where she can sit while she dries off) Then get her leg "bagged". They now have leg bags designed to be used in the shower.... so much better than trying to use a plastic garage bag. This is her 1st shower since the surgery (been doing spit baths instead). This way if the bag should leak, and the wrapping gets wet - the doctor could change them when we see him. Need to give her plenty of time after the shower to rest before we head to the doctor's. Her stamina is low so it takes her longer to recover from being up.

Will try to pop in later after we get back.

Home from the meeting. Gee, I have too much ADHD for sh%# like that. It's about some new routines that will happen when the libraries in the region will merge into one (i.e. cooperation between each city's library). We got a 50 page document to read ... now the meeting was basically going through that document ... and the same again on Friday. I mean??? Can't people read?!!! I get soooo bored talking about the same thing again and again. (And of course there were people who hadn't read the document, asking things that is in the document - *sigh*) I'm clearly not made for working with people. LOL

Been googling food processors ... gee ... that's a science in itself, isn't it? And the prices vary a lot. Saw some simple ones for about 500 SEK (about US$54) and up to the crazy one that were 27.500 SEK (about US$2.955). I'm not going crazy LOL I'm thinking about this one:
Or at least something similar.

I do cook everyday & I use lots of veggies (go figure ... I'm a vegetarian LOL)

Will probably take forever to decide which one to get. For the time being, I have a cheap version of this one LOL:

Chris @faerywings sorry to hear about your friend's mom stroke and falling - that's so frightening. Has your mom known her kidneys were failing for awhile and they won't get better? That's really scary and her heart, too! When is she meeting with the nutritionist? I didn't mean to be "flip" at all - you know that. I just know that medication and diet can work wonders. I had a scare about 4 years ago and it was caught with routine blood work. My thyroid suddenly and, for unknown reasons, shot off the charts. Hyperthyroidism - the doctor couldn't even read it - that's how off the charts it was. They rushed me to a specialist, who put me on medication immediately and I went in about every 2 weeks for about a year. They said it was "sudden onset" and that it MIGHT just as suddenly go away. I religiously took my medication, got on the exercise program the dr wanted me on and adjusted my diet. It did mysteriously get back to normal - I've been off my medication for a year. My latest bloodwork (2 weeks ago) was still normal. I don't have a lot of advice - my mom had Alzheimer's and Dad was pretty disabled at the end. Before we finally put Mom in a nursing home, it was pretty bad. PATIENCE, PATIENCE, PATIENCE. That's the best advice I can give you. Just taking them in to the doctor is exhausting!

Yes, Trudy @taxed4ever they are totally adorable. Isn't that name special? For both reasons. Rae @bcgal00 I WILL think of your Bailey too. Hope your move goes as smoothly as can be expected.

Lynn @Lynn Grieveson that stinks that you went to the trouble to go in for your labs and they were closed. :( You tried, right? Hope the sale goes better than you seem to expect. You sound like us - always the wrong timing. LOL

I'm going to hop off here now - I need to work on a layout for a pre-release today. Hugs to all.

Good very late morning my O friends!! I was at the pool by 7am this morning, it was fairly busy, but noticed that my 8am it was almost empty. So I think that might be the golden hour to go LOL. My new waterproof MP3 player works great, but the one ear piece keeps popping out of my ear darn it!! Now I have a plugged ear (full of water). Sure hope I don't get an ear infection because of it. I need to see if perhaps my old ear piece will fit on the new player, perhaps that will work better?? Anyway after getting home I had a nice face time call with Heather, she is busy with some work that came her way and was so happy!! It was nice to see her excited for some work! A woman and her daughter want to book a trip to France and Germany with her and so she is very busy trying to put together some packages with quotes for them. I was doing a Happy Dance for her!! Mason has been taking drum lessons for the past couple of months and they are now getting him a set of drums. Nothing too expensive, but a good starter set for him! It will be a noisy household!! But a happy one! Tomorrow is hiking day and we are doing one that is pretty close by, so I will be going for sure! It is to Holt Creek, such a beautiful spot! Here is a bunch of photos if you are at all interested in seeing what it is like Holt Creek Loop.

@faerywings - Sorry you are still not seeing any spring weather! :(. I hope it comes soon!! We hit plus 15C/59F here yesterday and I actually got to open some windows and let the fresh air in!! Supposed to be sunny for my hike tomorrow, so it will be nice to have to wear my very warm raincoat! I hope that your grocery shopping goes smoothly and that the older ladies don't block the aisles on you!! Thats something that bothers me too, some think its a meeting place and they do all their visiting there LOL. I know I need more patience right?!!

@bcgal00 - OMG you are on your way soon!! I bet you can't wait to get a bit of a rest at the Hotel! Sure hope your movers are good and don't do any damage to anything! It must feel strange to know that last night was your LAST NIGHT!! I am sending you a ton of good wishes as you start this new chapter of your life!! ((((HUGS!!))))

@LSlycord - Well no wonder you feel a bit crabby!! 45 mins in traffic is not fun!! I hope this Dr. finds out what is going on!! Nice to hear that Decker had a good visit with the adoptive family! Keeping my fingers crossed that he has found his forever home!

@BrightEyes - Kay it sounds like your DD is keeping you busy! You are a super Mom!! Nice that making the bandage more lose worked to stop the pain in her heel! You sure have everything all set up and in place for your DD!!

@tanteva - Wow there are some very expensive processors out there!! Love the one you gave us a link too! I bet you won't want to use that dinosaur of a manual processor for much longer though. Ha, Ha I see you ordered a Bosh!! Good choice!! Happy chopping and blending!!

@Cherylndesigns - Have fun with your scrapping today! I hope to get busy with doing another page today also!

Have a lovely afternoon everyone!

Our dish washer is a Bosch, and it's really good, thought I'd stick to what I know. Also, adding a couple of 100 SEKs, to be able to make doughs as well seemed like a good idea. Now I can declutter 3 machines & only have one for chopping, whisking & baking.
