Did you hear?? It March!! *happy dancing*
That means-- 20 Days Until Spring!
But get this, today is the first day of meteorological spring. I admit I have no idea what that actually means except the weather account I follow on Social Media was saying that. ;)
Now if it would only start to *feel* like spring with the temps. I am sick of being stuck below freezing. Because I couldn't get warm, I bailed on cleaning out the freezers. The fridge is done but I figure I already know what is in the freezers since everything falls out every time I open the door Ha!!!

Today is going to be more of the same stuff, puttering about and working on taxes. I need to get Scott set up to do his this year. And I will get Cait's started too. It is also the first of the month which means new Challenges here! :D

I am going to post this and BRB for personals

My goodness, I really cannot stop shivering. It feels like all of my brain activity is focused on keeping me warm, failing constantly, and the leftover brain fog is like little bits of misty ice in there *taps forehead*

@Cherylndesigns How did you sleep last night, any better? Gray and J slept on the sofa last night and I slept so much better. hahaha
How neat that Sam rings a bell to go outside. I have seen dogs do it but not cats.

@taxed4ever Good thoughts to Linda's boyfriend, wishing him good health.
Yes, coffee is such a needed thing. I think I am going to need Mug #3 today-- and I slept well for a change. heh
Is the pool heater working yet? I bet that once you get back into the routine of swimming and hiking you're going to feel so much better!

@LSlycord Happy birthday to Syd!!! No more little kids. *cries* I am so proud of her and of you! You did a good job, Mom! It is grey and damp here and not even close to 80*- maybe in a few months.

@bcgal00 So cute, you and Jen are like my family with CRVs. (still makes me laugh that my mom will never drive my dad's CRVs even though that is all she has driven herself for 20 years. )
What a mess with the Rxs. Hope it wasn't too much of a pain to get it straightened out. Poor Jen, do they think the rotator cuff will heal on its own or will she need surgery??
Good luck with your packing. It will be very nice to start fresh.

@BrightEyes Isn't it "funny" when one of the biggest things of excitement is getting cheaper gas? ;)You did a lot of errands, no wonder you were tired at the end of the day. I am not a fan of peaches (color/flavor/ or scent) but I bet that cobbler would be delicious made with apples and/or pears. Sorry if I made you sugar-hungry. LOL

@mom2triplets04 That is so sad about your sister and the Ex. I am glad that the kids are getting support.

Hugs to you all!

Not sad to see Feb done and dusted. March is coming in like a lion as the rhyme says but at least the cold is gone. We just have a rain/flood warning. sheesh, There are some crocuses and primroses up and blooming and I have noticed the first bright green leaves sprouting on the trees so the signs of spring are there.
I have been trying to get out and walk every day, the nitro spray and a phone in my pocket, just in case but I am pretty sure the angina is stress related as I feel good during and after each walk. Ain't aging grand?
A very happy March 1 to you all.

Happy March 1st to all of you!! YUP pretty happy to see February out the door! I think we all feel the same! Right now there are patches of blue sky, but fresh snow on the mountain tops. Big grey clouds moving up the valley, so I am sure the rain will start again soon! It is supposed to be a very wet March! Oh well rain is better than snow right!? @faerywings I am loving your countdown to spring photo today! I hope to spend the day crafting away, both here and in my craft room doing a few cards, perhaps starting that painting that I have floating around in my head too. Expecting a face time call from Heather some time this morning, so this post might be interrupted LOL.

@faerywings - Hope you get your taxes all taken care of, we finally got the last of the papers we need to get going on ours. Glad DH does that tedious job although I really should learn to do it too! Pool is still cold, although they have got a new boiler. It will take some time to get warmed up, but they are not warming it up too much as there is a big swim meet this weekend and they keep the lap pool very chilly! So I guess it will be next week before I get into the pool again.

@Kythe - Nice that you have been out walking everyday! Isn't it nice to see the crocus out in bloom! My Daffodils are coming up too. Hope your angina gets under control, although you have had some pretty stressful times lately. Take care of you!

Ok I have been on face time with Heather for the past 1/2 hour, so its time to get into the shower and out of my pj's I hope that everyone has a good March 1st!

Oh my goodness. I am trying to get myself organized with the new commitment of a fulltime job. LOL Been doing that most of my life but it seems that I really got out of the habit in the 3 months I was off. So I'm trying to get a few things accomplished while on my lunch hour.

I actually cooked chili last night and figured, as long as I was at it, I might as well do some spaghetti sauce for tonight's supper. My paper chain continues to grow shorter...Billy Joel is up next on the 12th. Then 2 weeks later, it's Garth Brooks. Then 3 weeks until my niece and her family get here. Once they leave, we have 10 days until wheels up for Europe. And someplace in there, Syd needs to find a roommate and get her schedule figured out and...well there is a lot of stuff.

@faerywings and I need to get the kids set up for taxes as well...ugh. Not difficult, just one more thing on the list.

@kyeth I am jealous of your crocus...they were always my favorite.

@taxed4ever I love how connected you stay to Heather and your grandsons through FaceTime. I am already mentally planning that time in my life.

I will absolutely be back tonight. Have a great day all.

Good morning (barely).

I'm glad February is over, too! Onward and upward and it's warming up so nicely here. I went out yesterday and walked all around the house and down into the woods. My sunflowers haven't started up yet - I DO hope they took root, but these sweet little "Lichen-looking" plants are coming up all around the edges of the house. I saw green! SO uplifting and the grass is just starting to green up a bit. It's almost 70 right now! I'm definitely going out again today. I think I told you girls that I "naturalized" my beautiful "weed garden" with the sunflower seeds and the front of the woods as well. I just stood and through seeds out. I threw some more out yesterday and have them in a brown paper bag. Daisy kept thinking it was something to eat and was chasing the seeds. LOL The seeds are from my ex-sister-in-law, in honor of her son who passed away from Covid - I THINK I told you all about them. I also found out that they're the "National Flower" of Ukraine, so I threw more out yesterday in their honor.

Chris @faerywings I slept better last night! Woke up about 6 am and was able to sleep until 9:30! It felt SO good! Yes, it's so cute to see my cat ring that bell. My friend from The Netherlands sent me the little owl a few years ago and he's hung on one of my doors ever since. I sent her the video of Sam ringing the bell and she got such a kick out of it. Chuck gets such a kick out of this cat - he says Sam understands everything I say.

Kythe @Kythe walking does wonders for stress - glad to hear you're getting out. I've been listening to lots of audio books about stress and even getting out a couple of times a week is helpful, but getting out more frequently is even more beneficial.

I'm going to get off here and get myself together. Adrienne just said she's coming down in awhile. I'd better get myself together + I want to get outside.

Hugs

Linda @LSlycord I'm sure it is hard to go back to a full time job even if it is work from home. It still takes lots of discipline. You'll get in the swing of it and figure it out. Good for you for getting dinner done and started for tonight.

Morning, gals. WELCOME TO MARCH!!! So glad to have Feb over and done. Don't see any green sprouts yet. Still below freezing at night. Thinking I should start looking for some day lilies bulbs soon and get them planted in the pots in the backyard. Will give it another month before I hire a yard-cleanup crew to come in... by then it will be time to spray for weeds and clean up all the dead leaves, etc. Looking forward to the warm temps in the next few days into early next week... but then will have another cold front coming in with maybe some sleet/snow. Been busy getting some CT work done for the start of March challenges.

I need to get the meatloaf put together for dinner along with some seasoned cubed potatoes and a fresh fruit salad. Yes, Chris... I couldn't resist having another serving of peach cobbler last night. Sorry you don't care for peaches but am sure you could use apples, or cherries or other fruits in it. I stumbled on to using Almonds/almond flavoring one day when I was out of vanilla flavoring. DH loved it so it became a staple for us. I am dragging a bit today but sure that is due to all I did yesterday. Still need to pickup a few things that I didn't get at the commissary yesterday.

@Kythe Glad you are getting out walking some... hope that eases the stress a bit.

@LSlycord Glad your trip went fine and you are back home safely. Yes, getting adjusted to working full-time again with take a bit of time. Glad your DD has her choice of which college to go to... now for her to get registered, etc. Quite a change for her.

@Cherylndesigns think your area is warming up faster than mine. Had to LOL over you scattering sunflower seeds around the yard and Daisy thinking they were food for her!

Off to get dressed and decide if I want to go get my hair cut today. Have a Red Hat lunch next Tuesday and would like to have the haircut done a few days before then so I can get used to it. CYL

Good morning ladies. I'm getting some packing done. D has gone out to drop off a deposit cheque to the movers (yay, we got one and they are a bit cheaper than the other company) So now I can breathe, all the important stuff is taken care of. Now I have to focus on getting the house packed up in the next 27 days, then have the movers come in and the next day have the housecleaning company come in. We'll spend the night in a hotel here and then go up to Kamloops to stay in a hotel for a few nights until the 2nd when the movers unpack and (hopefully) telus comes to get us set up. I'm looking forward to getting moved into the new house and getting started (again) on a healthy eating and exercise plan. I have gained 10 lbs over the last few months on top of the covid 10 I gained so I need to get a handle on things soon before it reaches the point of no return. I'm not beating myself up about it, I "get it", I know why I gained and the comfort eating got me thru all we've endured this past year but I am starting to look forward to getting back on plan soon.

We are loving the new SUV. So many features my old car didn't have. I love the wireless charging and how the hatch opens up when I stand behind it as long as my keys are on my body or in my purse. So handy when out shopping. D found a leather chair for me on marketplace so we went to pick that up last night. It will be perfect for me in the media room. I want to get a club chair for the living room for me but I'll wait til we move.

Tonight is chicken nuggets and fries for D and I'll have a big salad and faux chicken strips. I'm trying to use as much as I can out of the freezers before we go. We are leaving both fridges here and the two freezers so until I buy another freezer, we'll have limited freezer space for awhile. It will force me to be more careful about what I buy which is a good thing, since I tend to over-buy grocery items and then never use them. I really don't want to be so wasteful anymore.

We were all laughing when Jen came over yesterday. We compared the two SUV's and they are identical LOL, hers is not a darker grey than ours, it is the same. We have the same model as her but ours has a few added options such as the automatic hatch opening.

@faerywings I haven't even thought about taxes, I'll leave it until after the move. I was freezing last night too. I was bundled up, lying on the couch after dinner. Today I feel fine though. I think its the dampness from all the rain that gets to me. Jen will find out soon if they want to try other therapies first or book surgery.

@Kythe This weather is awful, isn't it?

@taxed4ever Have fun working on some cards. I have lots of supplies in your box :) I don't know if you have a card scorer or not but you will have one soon. It is awesome for perfect card folding. I also have an assortment of stamps and coloring products for you. D is getting used to me saying "put that in the Trudy box".

@LSlycord Hope you soon get used to your new schedule after going back to work.

@Cherylndesigns Looking forward to seeing photos this spring/summer of your natural garden. I love sunflowers and never knew they were the national Ukraine flower. That makes them extra special now.

@BrightEyes Yum, peach cobbler. That was my mom's fave (along with apple cobbler) and I love it too. Enjoy the meatloaf. That is one of the meals I miss as a vegetarian but do enjoy a vegan loaf so I'm ok about it. I don't miss many meat dishes but that was always a fave of mine.

I'm getting a coffee and a bagel before Jen comes with Bella for a doggie playdate in a bit. BFN

I know I'm very quiet and not chatty. I am better. Today I haven't had to take any meds. No fever, coughing, runny nose or sore throat.

However, mentally I'm not well. The current situation in Europe is really messing with my brain. I did manage to make a layout today & do all the start-of-the-month stuff for CT. I'll try and get some more layouts made tomorrow & Thursday I'm working.
